Siempre será mi lugar favorito, aunque esta vez pensé estaría muy decorado de día de muertos, supongo que esperan concluir el cervantino para comenzar los festejos del 2 de noviembre.
Spectacular every year. Visit it!
It's the most important cultural and artistic event in Mexico and Latin America, and it has existed in the city of Guanajuato since 1972. Initially, in honor of its founding and as a tribute to Miguel de Cervantes, this festival showcased artistic works in Spanish, and since then, it has commemorated the tradition of theater.
It's a very interesting international event, but this year I think the Casa Sonora (Sonora House) lacked a better venue. The space was very small, and there wasn't much to learn from it, except for a very small exhibit on the indigenous groups of Sonora and very few crafts besides typical dishes. In past years, Casa Japón (Japan House) was in a better location and made the most of the culture, showcasing a wide variety of things. In my humble opinion, the United States didn't have much to offer. I hope it improves next year, both for the guest country and the guest state. It left much to be desired this year.
Beautiful Guanajuato! The best city experience: history, culture, art, beautiful landscapes, and delicious food. You go for a few days and want to stay much longer. 💕
The Best
An impressive festival, the free events are of great quality and there are many activities throughout the city. I really liked the diversity of museums and that at night they spent time cleaning and washing the streets.
The Cervantino Festival was very good since there were many activities, with the special guest being the country of Korea, with activities about that Eastern country. The activities such as entertainment in the urban streets were excellent.
UNIQUE
A dream come true...it was magical, wonderful! A beautiful city, plus the joy of all the people and seeing artists from around the world in one place. Thank you, Guanajuato.
Laa oficinas sin novedad. Pero el evento es de muy alta calidad
me gusta mucho más el Cervantino sin personas
It was cool, but they filed my friend's divorce, so you can't be comfortable in a safe place, but apart from that, the experience is cool because you're with the people you love and the people around you are in the same mood and it's really cool.
It's located in a small plaza surrounded by beautiful, well-preserved old buildings and some shady trees—another corner of Guanajuato to enjoy. It's perfect for a short stroll.
Este 2023 estuvo desangelado
Wonderful shows, but I think they've become elitist. The best are presented in their beautiful theaters, but the prices aren't affordable for everyone, and to get a discount you had to buy tickets before September 30th. In Guanajuato, if you're from outside, it's hard to get there. The hotels and restaurants are ridiculously expensive, but there's something for every budget and taste. In short, I loved being there.
Not professional. I had tickets to see the Deborah Colker Dance Company at the State Auditorium Friday, which is an isolated venue about 15 minutes outside of the city and requires a taxi there and then an Uber back because taxis typically don't hang out around the venue. When I arrived at the auditorium on a Friday evening, the performance hall was closed and the many people who were arriving to see the performance were just milling about. I found out from one of them, that the event had been cancelled so I had to make my way back to the city by Uber (a 20 minute wait). Even though I had purchased the tickets through an app and received an email receipt, I received no notification about the cancellation and there were no notifications on the Cervantino Festival website. The next day I went to the box office to enquire about a refund and was told by the one of the staff at the ticket counter that there would be two make up performances on Sunday, one at 2pm and one at 5pm. Just because I wanted to be clear, I asked the lady to verify that there were going to be two, one at 2pm and one at 5pm and that I could attend either one, and she repeated back to me, "Si Domingo, a las dos y las cinco". So at 1:40 on Sunday I'm back at the venue, where there are a few people milling about but not as many as Friday night, and there's no performance. Another 20 minute wait for an Uber. I did get a refund for the ticket price by contacting Boletmovil but there was no refund on the 20% service fee.
