Very fair prices and amazing waitstaff! The food was brought out fresh and in a timely manner. Karaoke night was so much fun! All around an excellent place to enjoy great food, and fabulous company!

I know this place gets a bad rapport sometimes, but I personally never had a bad experience. The staff there have always been great, personable, and attentive. The food has always been good and the prices are set right for the quality. I love the chicken tenders.

Fast and friendly service. Our water was amazing. Drinks and food phenomenal! Is a whole vibe here! I got the Cajun chicken Alfredo and drank the Hawaiin punch. Seriously amazing!

Love being at Union. The food and environment are subjective. You love it or you don’t. I love it. But the real stars of the show are the service team. Every time spot on with knowledge, remembrance, and care. I’m impressed that our server remembered us and our drinks. But also wanted to point out how wonderful it is to be in a place and not feel judged. My partner and I “pass” as a straight couple and that can get some flack from the LGBT+ community. But here we can feel a part of the community and be ourselves without judgement, such sentiment I haven’t felt in other establishments. Thank you, team Union for really living up to your name. Special shout out to Kevin!

Union Cafe is always a hoot and a holler. The food and cocktails are always amazing. The atmosphere is welcoming and always creates an everlasting memory. Will be back for sure!

I would like to give a hats off to Brody, Rocky and The general manager for going above and beyond expectations for their patrons tonight.1/18/2025 I was very impressed at how they all went out their to take care of the guest. I wasn’t so happy for the lack of service with the servers who never once check on me. I busted my table and Brody toke care of me. The manager was amazing he was doing triple jobs tonight. It would do the servers to follow who lead in service. Hats of again to Rocky, Brody and The General manager tonight for their outstanding service performance

Always clean, food is tasty and the drinks are drinks. Food menu has changed, portions got smaller and prices got larger. But still good food. Personally not a fan of the drinks but the prices are good according to my friends. Also clean and the staff if great (with the exception of two). Bathrooms are always clean and I believe they have wifi. I have never felt unsafe while being there. I love that at night (when I go) they have people are the door, checking bags and bodies. You can never be too safe! I also feel the place is very inclusive now, which is great to see in Columbus, Ohio.

I haven't been to the Union Cafe for many many years because I live out of town. Some friends and I went there on Sunday, December 7th for the Sunday drag brunch. I absolutely had a wonderful time. The Queens were absolutely wonderful. The staff was great, particularly our waiter. Bryce and which made Sunday brunch a very enjoyable time hopefully my friends and I can come back to Columbus once every few months or so just to go to the drag brunch. It was great

i ate the most delicious burger and fries of my life there with my friend and his dad genuinely. i have missed the taste of it ever since. coming from a small town where i feel like an outsider, i felt very welcomed there, and our waitress had such a kind aura. the music was very loud and i usually don't like things that are very loud but it was greatly surpassed by everything else around me, and i was overwhelmed in a good way. to whoever cooked my food and served me that night, i will appreciate you for the rest of my life

This review is based only on the Sunday brunch. They have a quite excellent brunch buffet with great value. The made-to-order omelette station is the highlight; you can choose from a menu of delicious options or customize your own. They also have a waffle station with the same format, and some over-the-top options. The rest of the buffet is pretty average, but covers all the breakfast foods you'd be in search of. There's great drink deals to go along with brunch. They also maintain some of their lively bar atmosphere with music playing and videos showing on the tv screens. Service is quite excellent. I'd definitely recommend Union Cafe for a fun brunch experience!

Food was good,music and atmosphere always on point,spacious and clean…Bartenders and servers very friendly and welcoming.

Stopped in on the way home for a couple shots! Cool atmosphere with upbeat music and staff. Both indoor and outdoor seating (during the warmer seasons) with plenty of food and drink choices!! Pretty good happy hour deals as well!

Upbeat but chill spot. Good drinks, good food. (The potato skins were tasty) It was karaoke night during my visit. Would like to check it out on a different night.

We just came here for drinks and a drag show on a Wednesday night. It is a really nice bar with cheap drinks, friendly staff and a great atmosphere. There was a really fun drag show out with a fun and diverse group of queens.

I loved the entire look and feel of this place! Everyone was very nice! The food was ok and the drink was strong!

We always have a good time at the Union. Their Long Islands are ALWAYS good, last night I tried a Donkey Punch and it was deliciously sweet. Dangerous because it tastes like fruit punch so it sneaks up on you! We had a combo sampler with cheese curds, potato skins and twice grilled wings. The curds were ehhh ok. But the potato skins and wings were wonderful!!!!! Now I know why my friend always orders the skins. It's always crowded when we go and 95% of the people are very nice and will strike up a conversation with anyone! It was husband's first time going with me and my gay friends and he was impressed with the atmosphere and food. Last night we didn't know they were doing a showing of RuPaul's Drag Race and Nina West was hosting with special guest Alexis Michelle...they were amazingly sweet and so much fun. It's always a party at the Union.

Fun place. food quality has gone down. No more steaks and frites, went last week, the small plates seem to have gotten smaller. Drinks are still strong!

Quick service and good food. The only issue is that it was absolutely packed.

Great nightlife spot! Was misled by pics online leading it to be a restaurant when at night it is a busy fun gay bar!

Union is great for drinks! They’ll definitely get you where you want to be and QUICK. I frequently come here for that and may try something off the food menu which isn’t too bad but definitely not my place to come for food. The music just isn’t my type of vibe like ever. That alone makes for a quick stop. To each its own. I’ve had the Mexican bowl with salmon and it was very disappointed. The salmon had zero flavor and the bowl was simple rice with salsa sauce. Yuck. So I’m good on the food. Definitely has great photo presentation.

Only 3 stars for outside seating caters to smokers. But the seating for 2 by inside bar was ok but weird when a group was sat in the booth. Hard to have a private moment. But potatoes skins were great. Stiff Drinks a plus. Wings need attention, need to cook longer they were tough due to quick cooking. May return to try other menu items

Visting from Cincinnati I was amazed by the flare of this place. Has a exciting feel to it. I loved how the staff were able to be opened about themselves. They gave out amazing energy. Very helpful. My only nack was my Kale salad I ordered. The chicken was over cooked. So it made it tuff. And we were seated adjacent to a table that had a bunch of flys. We had to keep fighting with them from getting into our food. It was quite a few of them. That was VERY annoying and unsanitary.

My company's DEI group met here for a large dinner and staff was gracious enough to hodgepodge some space together for us in this otherwise cramped bar (with a reservation.) Service was pretty good, but the food left a lot to be desired -- particularly the soft, unseasoned tofu I received in my rice bowl.

I show up and wait patiently for a drink and get shoulder checked by children in comparison. bc they say they know somebody but I say we all wait bc they busy and they are too good for a busy bar. if you love a bar you wait bc we suppost a business doing it.

I really miss the "old" Union. A time when the service was top notch and the bar was always packed on the weekends. It seems the past few years it has been slowly slipping away, from the horrible service (waited 20 minutes) for a server, when they finally took our drink order, they never came back to see if we wanted to order food. We just cashed out and went to another restaurant. I've also noticed the bar isn't as well kept as it used to be. Notice the tvs broken/ missing that used to show upcoming events and very unsturdy tables recently placed on the patio. This place deserves better...

Don't mind coming to union at all for food drinks or whatever the occasion is.....my main problem with them is their gift card machine to the registers never work.....I have alot of money on my gift card I want to spend but never can and this is what stops me from ever wanting to come back here....like they need to figure out how to get the gift card machine running or give me the cash back for the money left on this gift card that I been literally holding for over 5 years now

If I could give a zero, I would. We had 11:30 reservation for 4 ppl the day after Pride. The bar wasn't full and there was a drag show. We finally get two of our plates at 1pm. We waited almost two hours. We spoke to the manager and they offered to comp our drinks and offered us 20% off our meal so we kept waiting. The food was cold when it arrived. We never got our second round of drinks. That was the last straw. We actually walked out and went down the street. At another restaurant we got seated without a reservation and we were eating within 15 mins. Very disappointed in Union.

I had a terrible experience here tonight. The new owners are dishonest and running the bar poorly. 2 of the 3 drinks we ordered were significantly more expensive than the price listed on the menu, and it took almost 30 minutes for them to correct the error. To add insult to injury, the chicken strips were inedible and a friend's burger order was substituted without consent and charged extra for an impossible burger. I will never be returning and would advise others to steer clear. First review 12/29/22: 2 stars 22% automatic gratuity is excessive. I usually tip around 30%, but that's only if they service is at least descent. The men's restroom was disgusting. We asked them to address it, and it still looked like this 30 minutes later. Gross. Plus side, our server was great! Also, the most under seasoned steak I've ever been served.

Union is a shadow of its former self. The menu used to be made up of great food with lots of twists. Just look at some of the old pics of the menus under the reviews, then go on their website and see the skeletons of GFS available food left. There are too many great restaurants steps away for them to consider this a competitive menu.

Terrible service today. Waited for 5-10 minutes without being greeted by anyone working there. I have had pleasant experiences in the past but it’s been increasingly worst each time. This is a gay friendly bar but I’ve heard many stories of it not being inclusive for black people. I’m super sad to experience this first hand… repeatedly. Attached is a photo of everyone standing chatting not servicing me at all. There are 2 men at the bar who have been helped.

Came in today durning happy hour. Bartender greeted me initially, and I opted for a table instead of sitting at the bar. He said he’d send a server over, which never happened. I waited about 20+ minutes at the table and decided to leave. The workers seemed to be entertaining their local faves at the bar but paid zero attention to me. I won’t be back.

This place has really gone downhill, and I’m not a fan of the republican owners, who donate to support anti-LGBTQ+ antics. The only time it really makes sense to come to Union is for the packed night life. The drinks are strong. Other than that, the environment is lacking, with a cheap feel (i.e. tacky plastic cups). The tables and floors are usually sticky and moderately trashy. The bathroom always smells. The food is bland and disappointing, but you’ll still expect to pay $20-30.

Terrible experiences every time I have been here… maybe not terrible, but severely inadequate. This time was the last straw after seeing someone else being disrespected the way I have been. Not only will I never go back here again. I will never recommend and highly discouraged anyone to return to this place. The behaviors of the team, the severe lack of respect to others, and the hospitality that may have only met dive bar standards. I highly question if this place should even be allowed to be a staple LGBT+ gathering spot. It is dreadfully sad.

This is the 5th time in as the past year I've driven out of my way trying to come in and support a local gay bar/restaurant when I'm in town but their kitchen wasn't open yet again. Nothing online says what their kitchen hours are and I've tried calling ahead but it doesn't even seem like they ever answer their phone. The bartender was nice and apologized but didn't seem to know what was going on with this either, he explained it was supposed to be temporary but by my count it's been at least 6 months? I really used to love this spot when I've come to town in the past but from what I've heard (and based on the state of the place in general) it's clearly been slipping since the new ownership took over.

If you are expecting the old union go somewhere else.The pricing has gotten out of hand for what you get. I ordered iced tea for my drink and it was extremely watered down and tasted like nothing. The menu has changed where it is extremely limited. They completely forgot my boyfriends order and messed up my order and my friends order. When I mentioned it the staff were extremely rude. Just go to McDonald's and you'll get better service

If I could give it a minus one then I would have. Not sure why you take reservations if you still make us wait for an hour to even get the order taken.Plus the original place they wanted to seat is tiny two table with no room to relax in the middle of the restaurant. What's first had to get a server b/c the server getting the order from the table seated 30 min after us said he was not our server even though I was told he was. The when the woman did come out and take our orders she says well people didn't show up. Not my problem I gave them grace though. But then the food took a looooong time! But then asked the food server can I get salt and pepper shakers. He give me plastic to go packets. I said you don't have table salt/peppers shakers. He goes check and comes back with one with both salt and pepper in one container. I asked you don't have salt b/c I didn't realize it was combined. He give me the plastic to go packets he days "here if you salt by itself". So regular table server comes back I tell her and I explain she says oh he probably didn't know we have some in the back. All of that and the food is awful 😖! My sister's 3 egg omelet looked like a two egg omelet and My whole plate was awful. Them turkey sausages are freezer burned and the scrambled eggs were not great. If I could post a picture of that raggedy plate I would. My sister didn't want me to me to tell them how awful it was b/c this one and done visit. And take down them brunch buffet reviews b/c yal haven't served that in years!Do not go here! To be foretold is be forewarned.

Stolen a big chunk of money from me. Had multiple customers with the same name and rather than do the right thing and fix my bill they told me the manager wasn’t there and charged me anyway. By all means have fun there, but know they could potentially charge you any amount of money and refuse to give it back
