Restaurante Ancla Combarro Reviews
Our family had an amazing experience at Restaurante Ancla in Poio. Without a doubt, it’s the best seafood restaurant we’ve visited in Galicia. Everything was incredibly fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. The portions were generous, the atmosphere warm and authentic, and the staff friendly and attentive. A wonderful place to enjoy true Galician seafood with family — we will definitely be back!
It's a place I try to visit every year I'm in the area. They have two set menus, €30 and €35. And honestly, you leave feeling very satisfied. Everything is fresh. The service is excellent; they're quick and friendly. The best part, for me, is that they let me bring my furry friend 🐶, as long as he behaves.
We went for lunch during the week, and it was packed. We were very lucky because we arrived just in time to be served since we didn't have a reservation. They were very friendly. They explained how the menus worked, and we found it very interesting. The staff was very attentive, friendly, and prompt. We especially want to thank the dark-haired guy for his helpfulness. The quality-price ratio was very good; we were able to try several dishes at prices you can't find elsewhere. The barnacles were delicious, as was the steak. The house wine was excellent and paired perfectly with the seafood. If we go back, we already know where to go.
€35 set menu (price per person). Two of us ate. The food was all delicious and you could tell it was fresh. Spider crab, prawns, langoustines, and king prawns. Then clams, barnacles, and razor clams. For the main course, a choice of meat or fish. Bread and very good house wine (you could have seconds if you wanted). Three pastries per person, coffees, and shots. Impeccable service and attention. Highly recommended.

Great seafood place, Esther and his husband, and son Josu, run a good operation. They have their own boats. For 25 euro you get all the wine you can eat, clams, percebes, shrimp, crab, choice of fish - pescada, sole, Rodovalho, and expresso, desert and free Grappa
OMG. So much good seafood. Fresh. The courses just keep on coming. One meal is enough for two. Dessert coffee after diner liquors etc. all for one low price. Not fancy but areal experience. Very attentive service, but we were there very late so I’m not sure how it is during the rush.
Great quality for a extremely fair price
A no-frills place with a set seafood menu, €30 or €35 if it includes spider crab, plus a choice of a second course of fish and meat, plus dessert. First, they bring out a couple of trays of cold seafood. Since there were four of us, they brought one tray with a spider crab and another with spider crabs, prawns, langoustines, and shrimp. Then came the hot portion: a tray of clams and another of barnacles, most of the latter being quite small. I found the hot seafood portion a bit short. For the second course, we had turbot (for three) and a veal chop (for one). To finish, there was an assortment of desserts, a section that could be much improved as there weren't many options. Some homemade desserts would be much better.
A good place for those who like seafood and fish (if fish isn't your thing, they also had steak or pork chop for the main course). They have two set menus, one for 30 euros and the other for 35 euros, the difference being that the 35 euro menu includes razor clams. For dessert, they serve a selection of pastries, all of which were delicious, and to finish, we had coffee and a shot. I'm not a big fan of seafood, but we really ate very well.
We happened to stop by for dinner on the highway. Even though we didn't have a reservation, they accepted us. They told us they offered two menus, €30 and €35. Both were the same, except the €35 menu included razor clams. They serve seafood as shown in the photos, and then you have to choose between fish or meat per person. They offered us a wide variety of fish dishes, and for meat, a chop or fillet. We opted for sea bream and a chop, which we shared. It included dessert (a small variety of cakes), a drink, and coffee. They also offered us a shot. It's fine, everything was delicious, although I expected more from the grilled seafood. Parking was tight, as it's right next to the highway. We paid €70 for two people.
Restaurant located in Combarro. They have a fairly comprehensive à la carte menu and daily set menu. The set menu is quite good value for money, including drinks and dessert. They offer two different set menus; the difference is €5, and the latter includes a hot seafood dish. The desserts are quite good. The restaurant is somewhat outdated. The service is good, depending on who serves you.
Reasonable cheap price for seafood menu, 25 euros and you'll get everything. The seafood was fresh, except for the crayfish and fish. Dessert was decent. Staff were very friendly and they do serve very quickly. Remember to call to reserve because they told us that normally you have to book 2 or 3 days in advance, especially for groups.
A classic restaurant, hearty food, great value for money. The razor clams are spectacular. Very good service. If you're looking to satisfy your seafood craving, this is the place for you. Don't expect top quality, though, because if you want to go there, you'd pay four times as much. I'd definitely go back, but only during the off-season.
For €35, you get a good menu, but I have to clarify. The second time we went, the meat and portions were considerably smaller. The spider crab, for example, is considerably larger for the locals than for those of us who came from outside. Plus, they told us to be quiet every now and then. I don't recommend going in a group. And the owner is mean.
