El Merendero Como Reviews
Great authentic Mexican food, fast service... indoor and patio seating. Never been disappointed when I go there.
I had the Menudo, it was delicious. We also bought sweet bread amazing
The food is so good and the whole place looks nice and clean and has great service
The Bakery next to El Merendero: This bakery is truly a gem! They offer a great variety of authentic Mexican favorites — fresh Mexican bread, delicious tamales (beef, chicken, cheese with jalapeños, elote, and pork), champurrado, coffee, chicharrones, corn and harina tortillas, Mexican jello, and so many other tasty treats. I always come here for my tamales and Mexican bread because they’re consistently delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. The prices are very affordable, and the quality is excellent every single time. If you’re looking for a great spot to pick up tamales or pan dulce, you can’t go wrong here. Highly recommend giving this bakery a try — you’ll love it just as much as I do!
The atmosphere is relaxed. There's a couple of TVs on so if you're dining by yourself like I was when I went, you can watch it while you wait for your food. The server was prompt, friendly, and very polite. She brought me some tortilla chips to snack on while I waited for my food. I had the chorizo with eggs, rice and beans. It was delicious. The portion will fill you up. Merenderos prices are pretty good. There's also a bakery attached so you can pick up some baked goods to take home.
Great place, the smells of fresh baked goodies. But the coffee was kinda pricey at 3.50$ a cup ,with no free refills. Jack n the box charges 1$ plus tax for a small cup.
The Food is good.. good portion.. Service is awesome the Lady is Friendly, Nice she allowed me to sit and she served the chips & salsa while waiting.. The Place is Clean with Moderate noise..
Their food is varied and soooo tasteful!!! They have friendly and efficient service. It's a nice place to go for a first casual date, a great place to eat with your family or with friends. The food has an authentic taste and doesn't taste like it's coming out of a can.😬 They are VERY reasonably priced and they have decent portions of food. They have a chill and comfortable atmosphere. It's one of my favorite Mexican restaurants to visit!! 😊
The busiest place you’ll find in Pomona. Seriously. This is an establishment really. The food is good too because people flock here and it’s busier than downtown. Pomona will be dead and this place will have more customers than the entire downtown Pomona. There is even a Mexican bakery (panaderia) connected to the other side of the restaurant. It’s a pleasant surprise to have the two businesses connected. I went for the bakery and then I saw the restaurant. Considering Pomona is not very interesting, this restaurant and bakery are busy and feel they belong here.
My wife and I have never been here and wanted somewhere near our tax guy. I chose this place and was pleasantly surprised. Parking was somewhat hard to find but 2 hours are free! Outside looks kind of rough but inside looks cozy and like a busy cafeteria. Once seated the service is excellent. I had pancakes and eggs, my lady had Menudo which was so tasty. Pancakes were so good and so were the potatoes. So much flavor. We highly recommend and there is a bakery right next door. They also serve beer!

Great good and waitress very friendly and attentive. Good food and yummy pastries and pan dulce.
Good mexican food and great service lots of items on the menu to choose from, we love the chile relleno plate combinations and the sizzling fajitas
Very yummy and good prices too! Very sweet staff. Loved my taco and friend loved her plate as well. Will be back.
Love the food and the bakery that is in the next room you can smell the baking breads while you are eating and they have great customer service
Excellent place! Everything on the menu is fantastic! Menudo on Fri, Sat & Sun. Their beans and rice and hard shell chicken tacos are so delicious.
Very good pan dulce, service was great. I almost went in and got the bread myself but a man came out and said that he would do it for me, I apologized since I didn't know that someone would get the…
Half a panaderia (bakery) and half a restaurant. \n\nParking: there are two parking lots attached to the building that you may need to pay for depending on time and day. \n\nBakery: even at 6pm on …
Friend and I went for Breakfast. They serve lunch and dinner as well. Additionally they have a bakery attached so you can even get some sweet breads and other types of baked goods. The restaurant is tucked away and you will have park in one of the parking areas, and the spaces fill up during busy times. So probably gonna have to walk a bit. Overall the breakfast was pretty solid. You can get very basic breakfast (bacon, eggs and toast) or a nice Mexican style breakfast (chilequles, mechaca, rice, beans and tortillas. You will be served chips and salsa as part of your meal. They have a full menu too and the items looked really good. I will have to stop by again for lunch or dinner. It looked like they serve their whole menu all day, so time doesn't look to matter. Drinks; soda, tea, coffee and beer. You can get wine and some margaritas, but you will not get a mixed drink here. Service: it's seat yourself at an open space. Also the servers are going to be busy and you may just need to flag them down as they may not have seen you sit down or If you have been helped yet. So just raise a hand or wave them down. Same thing when it's time to pay, just wave them down.

We picked up a pot of menudo w Tendon. Surprisingly pretty good, not mine but probably the best menudo I've had from any mexican food establishment. The nachos were great too.
There is usually parking at their parking lot or across the street when they're packed. I got the fajitas which were super flavorful and i found no fat on the meat, perfect! The portion is huge a…
Bakery tamales are not even hot, there’s to much masa with no flavor. Not worth buying again price is okay 14$ for four tamales Also do not place orders with the guy there, I placed a big order last week came to pick up the next day and there was no order ready apparently he forgot to make the order. Luckily the other lady there gave me my refund.
I love this place and bakery trust me; it’s delicious and closets thing I’ve found to authentic Mexican food. But I don’t know who hired this wanna be security guard upfront with not only one but TWO bear mace sprays lol. I guess today he was on his high horse being extremely rude to customers walking in or out; the restaurant had him taking guests name down and lord you would have thought they gave him the key to the store. Stopping people who were just walking in for picks up or the bakery side, sir you are a security job not a host. Hand the book back to the people who know how to do the job 😂. My party even told a waitress and she agreed he was being ridiculous! Get rid of this guy PLEASE
I use to love this place but it's been a few times I order menudo and it taste not clean properly and so. I have order other stuff like enchiladas and they were dry. I'm so sad I have to put this post, but ugh I see other people enjoying food, and there is just other cultures that want to taste authentic mexican food but it isn't here anymore. As I said a few times it has just not been good experience with the food.
The food was pretty good, just too spicy.\nThe waiter brought chips and salsa to everyone at the tables, but skipped out table. The cashier told us that there was going to be chips at the table when …

The beef was extremely tough. The nachos only had tough meat, beans and cheese. This was the worst Mexican food I have ever had.

The bakery use to be one of the best, unfortunately since a couple ladies attended the business, is just bad! The have a really bad manners, and really no respect for the costumers, The bread is really old and in some cases spoiled, I have been coming here for more than 23 years, and the older man’s use to work there always keep the bread fresh and delicious, I will never come here again,
We were really excited to give this place a shot because of all the amazing reviews, unfortunately it's disappointing!! (If you love authentic Mexican food) this is not the place to come. The servers are nice and friendly. Beans are from a can, rice is bland. Menudo tastes very dirty. Tamales are extremely dry. We wanted to try the Pan Dulce next door but after the horrible food we decided we'd save our money for another dessert spot. Anyone who is eating this food and raving about the taste is either a friend of the owners or have absolutely no real taste for authentic Mexican. Whatever you choose Good luck! Also Margaritas are terrible, we got the lemon lime and it was so bad it comes in a paper cup it's only 5 bucks so I guess you get what you pay for.
