Mikuni Concord Reviews
This was a great place to have dinner. We were told we had to wait 40 minutes but actually got seated within 20 minutes. The service was great. We had Lucia as our server and she was patient and kind, when we kept ordering ginger. The food was great, no complaints. We will definitely be coming back.
Mauricio our server was amazing. This was mine and my daughter's first time there. I ordered a bento lunch special originally with the tempura veggies and shrimp. Something made me ask about the veggies. I have a mushroom allergy. They have mushrooms in the tempura. Come to find out all the fried items use the same oil. I had to change my order, but Mauricio was patient and explained everything to me to help my decision. He is a gem. I was able to adjust my order with no issues.
We celebrated my husbands birthday and he came for the DNC roll. He ended up adding the bbq tuna app and it was cooked perfectly thanks to Marcus suggestion. Thank you Marcus for a wonderful evening excellent customer service you went above and beyond. The birthday spin and our new beer mug!! The menu and your suggestions on how the cook and our beverage was spot on. Thank you Marcus we will return and request you. Shout out to the managers supporting Marcus and the kind host as we checked in. Thank you Mikuni Concord
A Must👍Visit Japanese Spot in Concord! Mikoni is a place I will never stop visiting whenever I’m in California. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. I ordered the same sushi three times during my visit it was that good! The ambiance is chill and welcoming, making it a great place to enjoy a relaxed meal. Although we spent over $300++and didn’t catch the name of our server (who left without saying goodbye 😢 we still needed water, geez), the kindness and professionalism of the manager more than made up for it. She was incredibly accommodating wish I had gotten her name! I highly recommend Mikoni to anyone craving authentic Japanese cuisine with great service and cool vibes.🙌
I loved this sushi spot! And I am a huge sushi person! My dad and I went during lunchtime and got 2 bento boxes I believe they were each at most $25 , but the amount of food they give you is incredible. Neither one of us could finish. The ambiance is great. The restaurant is huge inside with indoor and outdoor seating. I highly recommend this restaurant!
I’ve been coming to Mikuni since 2021, and it’s hands down the best authentic Japanese sushi spot. The staff is always friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to answer any questions. The sushi? Absolutely amazing. I always order the Japanese Mafia, Marilyn Monroe, Train Wreck, and Tommy rolls—each one is packed with flavor and always fresh. If you love sushi, this place is a must-visit!

I love the taste and presentation of the sushi. Most sushi were $20-$30. I hope to come back
4 of us ordered bento boxes, unfortunately half the order was mixed up and it took about 15 minutes to correct the order. My friends claimed the same tempura was served because it no longer had a crunchy texture when it arrived back to our table. The waiters were very attentive, and once we ate the food was delicious.
Mikuni is my favorite sushi restaurant in Sac area and had sushi there many times. Tried this location in Concord for the first time. Food here was very similar to taste and presentation they have in downtown Sac location. Service at this location was not great. I had to ask several times to get service. I ordered my usual fav items here: 1. truffle fin - delish 2. Garlicky Edamame - love it 3. Hand rolls - hamachi and soft shell crab - loved them 4. Bbq tuna - yummy 5. Gyoza - kids loved it 6. Several rolls - all were yumm.
Spacious seats, nice cozy interior. Casual dining. Great varieties of sushi rolls and cooked dishes. After 2 pm happy hour price is quite good. Kaki fry (fried oysters) were crispy and juicy. Sashimi combo was fresh. The clam soup ramen with butter was tasty and a little spicy with the yuzu oil. I enjoyed the sunamo cucumber salad, it was refreshing. The handrolls were decent size. I took one star off because the seaweed wraps were a bit soggy. Staff was friendly and food came out relatively quick. Overall a nice place to have casual lunch after walking around at the shops in Veranda.
Mikuni did not disappoint. I have been to a few of their locations, but this was my first time visiting the Concord one. My sashimi dinner was very good. Each piece of fish was fresh and delicious. We also ordered a salmon teriyaki dinner plate and Tuna slider appetizers. Everything was tasty. Service was prompt, friendly, and warm. Great overall experience.
One of the new places to eat at the Veranda that I wanted to try, Mikuni's! This is at a great spot! There's a huge parking lot and a few other things to do in the area while you wait for your table. (Can't make reservations) but they take your number down so you can be sure to be called. There's a small play area for kids and you can watch the dancing water fall nearby. The restaurant has lots of seating inside and outside. They have a nice ambiance not too bright inside. The staff are wonderful, if you have any questions about their menu or sushi ask Eric. He was our server. His knowledge of sushi was amazing. Glad he was there to recommend some great favorites. We tried the Tommy Sushi, it had lots of wonderful things in it (tuna, soft shell crab, avocado, real crab topping on top (additional $3) but so worth it. We also tried albacore tuna for appetizer that was seared to perfection, that came with the spicy mayo sauce ...yummmmm!!!!! Oh please try the garlicky edimame soooo so good, do that to start with and finish with a sushi!!!! By the Way, they have a kids menu so yes, take the kiddos with you!!! Update: 02.07.2022. We ordered two different kinds of sushi one was Japanese Mafia Roll and Incredible roll. It was kind of funny because when they came they looked similar. The difference was mine had shrimp tempura filling and the other had imitation crab so just a little disappointed there. What I liked best this time was our order of Edimame seasoned with garlic, lemon, salt and cilantro and the freaky Brussels seasoned so well I could eat that by itself with just rice. I highly recommend these two appetizer unless you’re going back to work :). The edimame is garlicky but soo good! I think we ordered five things and spent less than $75! Not bad at all! Service was awesome as usual!

Went here with a group of friends for an impromptu Birthday. We had a group of 9 plus a baby. Our wait time was less than 10 mins. First Waiter we had nice, attentive he really knew his stuff. He goes on break introduces us to Hector who will be taking care of us while he's gone. That's where the bad service came in. We tried placing an order, he forgot our food. 3 people in our party had to watch us eat because order was never placed even when we gave Hector the order. We had to ask multiple times for the orders, utensils, napkins and water. We felt we always had to "look" for our Waiter and he was off to the side talking to other staff. Our original server never came back until it was time to do the cake.
Something has changed in dodge. Menu has changed to remove items from popular dishes.. with higher prices. This resulted in 1 roll, 1 Udon soup & 1 unagi don (ell over rice) with 2 non-alcoholic dr…
Look, I've been going to mikuni for over a decade starting with the restaurants in Elk Grove and downtown Sacramento. I love Mikuni. BUT they should be ashamed by their prices now. Went to the Concord Mikuni for my birthday. Every single dish was half the size of what it used to be, and double the price. Probably the equivalent of 6 full size asparagus stems for $14. The tiniest sashimi appetizer I have ever seen for $18. Technically it was 7 or 8 pieces, but it was really 3. Every single dish was tiny. I can't justify paying those prices for what is served. I feel sad to say I have eaten my last meal at Mikuni after decades as a loyal customer.
I would definitely rate this establishment as average and may not consider returning. Despite receiving a recommendation from friends, I was disappointed with the service, which was consistently lackluster, and the food quality, particularly the basic rolls, did not meet expectations, especially given the high prices. Our $75 dinner for two amounted to little more than an appetizer and a snack. That said, the barbecue white tuna and sea steak starters were exceptional, albeit in small portions. However, the Fila and the Rainbow rolls were absolutely forgettable. The service lacked enthusiasm, attentiveness and recommendations. On a positive note, the venue boasts an interesting style and design, with matching light fixtures and an open dining area, although it can be quite loud, making private conversations difficult during dinner. Overall, it was a one-time experience.
We just came back from eating dinner at Mikuni Concord at La Veranda and the chicken teryaki and salmon teryaki were awful !!! The chicken was salmon was tough and the chicken was even tougher ! …
