Absolutely love this place, especially on Friday & Saturday nights after 9. The vibes are amazing and the food is even better. Happy hour deals are nice as well! My go to is the chuck norris & snow cracker rolls.

We love this place! We actually live in Walnut Creek and we drive all the way out to Concord to get sushi out here it's a 15 to 20 minute drive but well worth it. Every time we eat here it's fantastic it is the best sushi in the East Bay in my opinion.

Good sushi. Love the miso soup. Idk if I would go again though.

Second time today and the service has been amazing. I ordered different dishes both times and it's been delicious. Restaurant gets packed super quick but the atmosphere is nice

This was my second time at Ozora, and it did not disappoint! The fish is so fresh, and everything that I’ve had so far is excellent. This is now my go-to sushi place in Walnut Creek. I can be a sushi snob and will absolutely tell it like it is. Definite 5/5 stars

We love this place and I’m sad it no longer stays open till midnight. They have a DJ on the weekends too and food is bomb.

When I tell you I have never been so happy to eat a restaurant before, I mean it. Ozora Sushi, this was the first ever time I’ve been, and i absolutely LOVED it! I have never felt so cozy and safe, it was incredibly nice, staff was amazing, the DJ played great music, the whole thing overall is a vibe. I love this place and I am looking forward to coming whenever I can. Big change from other sushi places I’ve been to, and this is now my new favorite spot. A Hidden Gem.

Update 09/06/25: We went back recently and had a great experience. Food was tasty, service was fast. And they bring miso soup out immediately when you sit down. We’ll definitely be back! ——————————— I usually try to avoid bashing a small restaurant at all costs. The industry is up against all odds trying to survive in CA right now. This is our go to restaurant for sushi. Until now. The last 2 or 3 times we went it has gotten worse and worse in every category. Long waits to be seated. Long waits for food. Long wait for the check. Luke warm miso soup and scalding hot tea. But the final kicker for us was the “raw” teriyaki beef we got last time. We let our server know and he delivered cooked meat on a plate seperate without taking the entire bento box and redoing the order. So we had no table room for anything. I am giving 2 stars because I’m really hoping they get it together. This is (maybe was) our favorite restaurant. We’ll give it one more chance probably in a few weeks. Please hire servers and/or cooks to meet the seating capacity!

Only went because a friend said I had to try this place. It's definitely not my thing but they were right. Great food, great staff, fun atmosphere. Refills were a tad slow but if go back... And it's definitely not my thing.

Wonderful experience. Pleasant staff with prompt service. Ordered "Nigiri Mix" (pictured) and was impressed with the quality of the fish and quantity of the dish. Family ordered bento boxes with various mains and we're all happy. Highly recommend.

This place is very nice atmosphere. The service is impeccable. I recommend the sushi rolls very much. I did not care for the udon soup as much as I thought I would. But the Bento box and the sushi are not to be believed. Excellent date place with lots of big TVs if you like to watch sports. Gets busy though!!

Great fish - loved the salmon and tuna and salad with Oroza #1 combo. Chicken Karage (chicken fingers) was also good, liked white and dark meat, but too much batter.

The absolute best Japanese restaurant! My partner and I go here at least once a week. The service is always outstanding; they go above and beyond! The food is also amazing, and in my opinion, it is more affordable than other Japanese restaurants in the area. Affordable while also feeling so high quality! Beautiful atmosphere as well. I will be going here always for the foreseeable future!

Ozora is the best sushi place in the Walnut Creek and Concord area. I mainly get their rolls which are yummy. I also like to order their Ozora salad which is made with organic greens and a nice dressing.

This is such a wonderful restaurant. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is beautiful, and they bring you miso soup right when you sit down. Also, the staff is very friendly.

J
John-Andrew Zacharakis

Let me preface this: the food portions are HUGE! You get really big platters of food and unless you're getting the hand rolls, the sushi trays are no different either. I would be more sparse with the appetizers if you're in a party of four or less. That said, everything tastes amazing and high quality, and the presentation is always meticulously crafted. In terms of atmosphere, the place is a nice blend of modern and traditional Japanese aestheics. The service is super solid too, but it can take a while sometimes for them to get your food to your table (honestly it's not really something that's always on them, since peak dinner hours are a thing). Definitely a place to check out for fans of Japanese food!

Ozora has become my go-to place for sushi in the Walnut Creek area. While I usually stick to takeout (the dining room is often packed, which is a good sign), the quality and consistency of their rolls keep me coming back. I almost always order the same rolls, and the Sora (pictured) is hands-down my favorite. It’s packed with tempura shrimp and crab inside, and topped with salmon, tuna, and yellowtail—perfectly balanced and beautifully prepared every time. Unlike some places that overload the crab or cut the pieces too large, Ozora nails the proportions and presentation consistently. Their gyoza and miso soup are also solid sides that round out the meal nicely. I’ve ordered from here dozens of times, and the quality is always top-notch. The staff is friendly, the service is efficient, and even though it’s busy, they handle takeout orders smoothly. If you’re in the area and looking for reliable, high-quality sushi at a fair price, Ozora is a fantastic choice. Highly recommend—especially the Sora roll!

Really great sushi! And I was surprised at how fast it was. Got my two rolls and my wife got a bento box. The only thing that took a longer time was the lion king, which is a baked roll. It was busy but we didn't have to wait long for a seat, maybe 15 minutes max. Definitely will come back!

Very nice atmosphere, friendly staff and fast service, we ordered ozora combo, sashimi was very fresh, it came with deep fried vegetable tempura and they were crispy and delicious. Combo also came with white rice, miso soup and green salad, the salad dressing was unique. Portions were decent, also ordered Hea dup bup (mixed vegetables with rice, fish eggs and cubed sashimi) was very tasty. Love the spicy red pepper sauce!

Okay, so we eat a LOT of sushi in my family. We’ve been from Danville to as far as San Francisco for some good sushi and let me tell you, this restaurant is our heaven on earth. Yes, It’s on a pricey side but the rolls are amazing. Would highly recommend the Lion King, and Baked Scallop as well as Sashimi. Been a customer for years now. Love this place so much!

My first time here and when I walked in the door I told the waitress that greeted us, Fifi (sp?) that it was 2.1 of us 😂 and she immediately asked if we wanted a quiet corner for my partner and baby. Excellent! Service was great, staff was friendly, and rolls came out fast and yummy. They asked us about baby and and we said we were celebrating his one month bday. They surprised with a little mochi treat and one candle. Too cute! Husband wife team Eric and Fifi were so nice ...gotta give it up to them. They made our experience above and beyond just the sushi we came for. The food is great too. Give this place a try! 🥰 Can we get an Akira Roll? Short and Spicy!

We brought my father-in-law here for his birthday and everything was perfect. The sushi was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully made. The portions were generous and the value was excellent for the quality. The staff was so kind and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed and helping us feel welcome throughout the evening. It was such a memorable experience and we are already looking forward to coming back.

This place is great. It has medium to fast service. The prices are ok a little expensive but that comes with the higher quality ingredients. Good place to come with family not so much with date during earlier hours like 5:00-6:00 because of children. All together great restaurant. Also if you write 2 reviews you only get one free dessert. It doesn’t say that on the card but I AM very sad

Came in on a busy Friday night but at that magical lul moment so we were seated pretty fast in one of their homey booths. The Christmas was tree up and Star Wars was on the projector too for extra homey vibes. We were lucky to order their last hamachi collar which was super buttery and perfectly charred. The beef teriyaki and soba were also very flavorful. Sushi was maybe a little rushed in presentation but tasty as usual. Love grabbing dinner here when I'm home for the holidays.

Pros: Great service and even better sushi Cons: Not much. If anything it was something minor like a little too much dressing on the seaweed salad (a few years back) compared to another restaurant. Again, pretty minor. Apologies — for this visit, I didn't have much time to get decent photos before the food was snapped up like a baby seal among a pod of orcas. Our server did a great job and the garlic salmon roll was tasty as was the tray of Nigiri (tai, hamachi, saba). Absolutely going back and working my way through the Nigiri selection.

Turns out I had lunch here. The verdict is as with most places now it feels overpriced. But than again Sushi has never been a cheap. You pay for what you get. So my anticipation was for quality raw fish. With that being said the Sashimi was quite good and did exceed my expectation. Just would have loved maybe one more type of fish for the price. The sides included salad soup and tempura. All were about the norm for a sushi outfit.

C

A fantastic neighborhood gem for sushi lovers. The highlight was definitely the Lady Gaga roll, which offered a unique and delicious flavor profile. Beyond the specialty rolls, their technical execution is spot on. the shrimp tempura was light, crisp, and remarkably fresh, avoiding the heavy, oily texture that often ruins the dish. Highly recommended for locals

Alright folks, I'm giving an updated review because the quality has gone down some. I believe the restaurant has been so busy they cannot keep up the quality at this point. This place is good no doubt but scoring based on quality of the food I recently had knocked it down a few stars sadly. Toro was not the quality expected, chewy. Salmon, lean cut and fishy which indicates poor quality. Uni was fantastic as was the Hamachi and Ikura Nigiri. I didn't bother taking a picture of it but had the spicy teriyaki chicken...not good avoid it maybe they should remove altogether. Service was good despite how busy it was, but wasn't personable. Meaning multiple people checked on me and didn't know where I was with my meal.

K
Kyla Ganote

I’m honestly so disappointed with my recent order here. I had such high hopes after my first visit months ago, but the quality has gone downhill. I ordered miso soup, avocado mochi, and the Red Head Roll (listed with snow crab). What I received was clearly imitation crab, not snow crab. This is especially concerning because I have a whitefish allergy, and it’s risky for me when ingredients aren’t accurately listed—imitation crab often contains whitefish, while real snow crab doesn’t. That’s not just a quality issue, it’s a health risk. On top of that, the avocado in the roll was sour, as if it had gone bad. For the price point, I expected fresh ingredients, not something that tasted old. It’s really upsetting because I thought I had finally found a solid sushi spot after moving here from Hawaii. Being Japanese, sushi is something I take seriously—but I also know I’m not in Hawaii or Japan, so my expectations were realistic. Still, the inconsistency and lack of care here are hard to overlook. Even my friend mentioned they stopped coming because the food just became mediocre. I truly hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously and addresses both the quality and accuracy of what’s being served.

Was my go to place for rolls. Unfortunately, there is almost no fish in rolls anymore. Slices were so thin I could not even taste it. Not coming back. Rice has a really good flavor though.
