Coronado Brewing Company Coronado Reviews
I loved this place!! The beer was excellent. Food was amazing, open kitchen so you can see just how hard these guys work. Got talking to some locals from Coronado and made some good friends!! Lauren behind the bar is amazing, I have no idea how she keeps up and gives such good service to everyone!!
Nice restaurant and bar right on the main drag of Coronado, Orange Avenue. Big selection of beers, and very good food. Been coming here for years, it is reliably good. Indoor and outdoor seating, this is a casual restaurant. The menu has items like burgers, pizza, fries, salads, and the delicious pulled pork sandwich. Definitely give it a try.
We love walking over to Coronado Brewing Co on any day of the week, but the lunchtime sunny days are our favorite. We enjoy the booths and the multiple atmospheres you get when walking through the bar area to the sit down area. The food is great and reasonably prices and the beer is why we come here! Always ice cold and never fails.
Really good. Again. Willie is the man. He is awesome. Beer is great and food will keep you going back
Excellent restaurant specializing in burgers, sandwiches, and pasta. We ate here both nights at our stay in Coronado and ordered the Mermaid's bbq burger and Serrano bacon burger. Both were delicious. We also tried the fish and chips and it was fantastic as well. I highly recommend checking this place out while visiting Coronado Island.
Pretty dang magnificent. The water is amazing: it’s a gift that keeps on giving (a gift that continues to give after it has been given). Once you finish the fresh, cool water, there’s the ice. No one makes better ice than Coronado Brewing Company. The galactic frozen squares cool the water to an optimum temp, bringing condescension on the outer “surface” of the glass. Once their task is done, they are ready to be eaten. The crunch is better than any chip, any carrot. Savor the moment. Live the hydration. Be awesome. I only wish I could take some home in my thermostat.
Nice atmosphere, good service and reasonable prices, especially for Coronado. Beer is $8 for a pint. Let me taste several beers as well. Burgers (16-18)and entrees are $16-25 a person. So not bad for the area. Burgers also came with fries. Good service. The only negative was my burger was not cooked to medium as requested and was well done. Was still very good and my friend’s burger was cooked medium so I think it was a fluke. Good burger! Overall definitely plan to return and highly recommend.
Turkey burger, fish and chips, calamari…beer. All sooo good. Everything is the way it should. Good. This place never disappoints.
Our server was the greatest! We were in town on September 7th from Chicago and we're big beer drinkers. From the beginning our server was friendly and personable. He brought extra coasters to take home, answered any questions, and even found two of their "weekend vibes" glasses to buy as they were so cute! The bill came and we decided to play credit card roulette. Again our server was so fun and played right along with us, kept it a surprise until he brought the card back which made it even funnier when we going out who had lost 😃 wish I knew his name as he truly made this lunch the greatest!
Did not try the food but the beer and cider was really good. Tim, the beer tender, was awesome as he has been there since the beginning. Thanks again, Tim! Very good.
Such a cool spot to hang with friends and take some beer home for sure. Servers were super friendly. There good enough parking around. Had the pretzel, carne asada fries, and buffalo chicken tenders which were all solid. Cool to be able to taste and enjoy other beers that are not available in can .
Was here on New Years Day. Went and sat straight to the bar. Tim was awesome he answered every question and let us sample a variety of beers. The beer selection was awesome and served at perfect temperature. The atmosphere was the best experience. Met some great people had some great beers. Thanks again Tim. Happy New Year. Drink up in 2019.
Easily the warmest welcome we received anywhere in SD. Our Bar tender was really helpful, advising which beer showcase the Brewery the best. Also recommended a couple of other bars to visit. Great range of beers available and the food from the kitchen not only smelt epic it looked it too!
It’s been a min since I was last here but I was a really big craft connoisseur then. This was how the flight of beers used to come in. They used to come in actual shot glasses. Maybe my review will help boost the rating. The beers are good quality. Their IPA’s aren’t too hoppy. The orange was my favorite. Smooth and light, a good beer for relaxing in Cali. I would say if you’re a fan of craft beer, you owe it to yourself to try this place if you’re ever in the area.
I ordered the Coronado Pub Burger and it was fantastic… Same with the fries. I am traveling from out of town so I didn’t have my pup with me, but loved that they are dog friendly as well. I was recommended a few restaurants by some friends who live locally, and was extremely happy with our decision to choose this spot. Great atmosphere and good food. I highly recommend to anyone on the fence about this place.
OK, I am biased, I am a Coronado native (born and raised). Our CBC came on the scene early compared to most, and it still continues to be my favorite (again, I am biased). The fish tacos are a must. The beer lineup is always solid. If you have any doubts at all, just come on in and you'll have a great time.
Updating my review.....last time I was here was in 2019. Fast forward to today Katie our waitress was very accommodating to my gluten and dairy free diet. She was one of the best waitresses I have had in a long time. I am thankful for her patience with our group with answering all of the questions we had. Would highly recommend this place beer was great alot of cider options for gluten free choices and such great food compliments to the chef make sure to tip the staff well!
Great service and experience. Food and drinks great! There were 17 of us, we showed up and were seated in less than 20 minutes. Prompt and friendly service. Loved it !
While walking around town waiting for our dinner reservations we decided to enjoy a local brew house. Found it! Very cool place and you can see where the beer is brewed. Be sure and enjoy the artichoke dip and tortilla chips. The Apple and tuna carne asada is fresh and really tasty. Be sure and check out the mermaid 🧜♀️ swag. We spent more for that than the lunch. Lol. Enjoy 😊
Awesome place! We sat at the bar and Tim was a great bartender. He was very knowledgeable on all of their offerings and a great host. We had a couple of flights to taste their different beers and ciders and everything was good, it was hard to choose one favorite. The prices were very reasonable and their to go options are also a good deal. Tim even let us know what the best bang for out buck would be for the to go options. We were just going to do a tasting but were so confortable we decided to hang out and have a pint as well. With that we ordered the Nachos Borrachos which were very good and a great size for two to share. Other items we saw come out from the kitchen also looked good so we will definitely be coming back when we are in the area!
Decent large menu. Food was excellent. The garlic fries were not coated in a heavy space so the fries remained crispy. Tried the Mango Farm and indeed, tastes of tropical and mango were extant. The Diablo penne was yummy and had ample sauce. The bacon serrano burger was delightful and not an overpowering greasy sandwich.
Absolutely loved the 5 Taster Set!! We were here on a Sunday evening, found this place based on Yelp Review and place that offered Vegetarian options. It was about 25 min wait but got in within 15 mins meanwhile we decided on the things to order. We were a party of 6, all vegetarians so the options were pretty limited but whatever we ordered tasted pretty good. We ordered the following: 1) 5 Taster Set 2) Artichoke Dip (Vegetarian) 3) Spanglish Fries (All Vegetarian and without carne asada) 4) Mediterranean Pizza (Vegetarian) 5) Chicken Pesto Pasta (No Chicken - Vegetarian) Everything tasted wonderful, it was great and the service was very quick too but the best part was the Taster Set. I ordered the following beers 1) Early Bird - Cocoa, Coffee, and Chocolate 2) Going back to Cali 3) Stomping grounds 4) Shuck It (*Oyster Shelling) 5) Weekend Vibes - My Fav (IBU - 60) I learned something new about IBU's too which stands for International Bitterness Unit and Weekend Vibes was IBU 60 and IPA but it was the best and didn't even taste that bitter. All in all a wonderful experience. Definitely coming back whenever I am in Coronado...
Much better than expected. Great food and great beers. This is hands down the best local brewery I have been to yet. I highly recommend the, “Shuck It” beer, especially if they have it on nitro and you like dark wheaty beers. The sampler lets you pick any 5 drinks and the tacos had a generous amount of quality fish.
Great location, delicious food and amazing beer! Ahí tuna poke was made out fresh tuna, well balanced with the sauce and other ingredients. Did not expect this quality from a brewery. Fried calamari were crispy on outside, while soft and delicious inside. Everything paired nicely with their Winter Warmer porter 🍺🍻 service is top notch, and the place is decorated perfectly. Definitely recommend!!
Excellent menu, lots of options without being overwhelming. Our table ordered a little bit of everything; appetizers, poke, pizza, burgers, sandwiches. All of it was excellent, hot and fresh. None of us got to try out the brewery portion of the menu since it was a working lunch but I'll definitely be back to try it out next trip into town.
Beers were great. The food was good as well. We had the burger and salmon. Our service was amazing as well. The only thing I woild say is it looked more like a restaurant then a brewery. But I didn't give them less stars for that. We arrived around 530 and didn't have to wait for a table. We were seated immediately
Friendly service. Great beer and even better food. I've tired 80% of the menu, and i have not had anything bad yet. Try the Brewhouse burger or the ribs always great. They get your choice of temperature of burger spot on. They are also known for their pizza. Great salads and their tacos are yummy. You can't go wrong.
Overall great experience at the Coronado Brewing Company. Arrived at around 6pm on a Thursday evening and although the bar area (front) had a decent crowd, the tabled rear area was fairly empty. Staff was very friendly and helpful. A decent selection of food and beer...everything was reasonably priced. Beer was fresh. The food was good-very good. Would love to return and try some other food items. Great environment. Street parking available along Orange Avenue...we didn't have a problem finding a space at that time.
Probably one of the best places I have ever been too! The staff and food were beyond amazing, there were 9 of us and no one had a bad word to say! We also loved the seltzer so much we brought some back home. I cannot recommend this place any more highly and your really missing out if you don’t stop by!

I left not a single crumb. Food was soooo good, and I enjoyed my non-alcoholic beverage as well. I wish I could eat this again. Definitely a place to go to when visiting Coronado

Great selection of beers and food, and great service! We stopped by around 4pm while waiting for traffic to improve and it was a great place for a snack before dinner, highly recommend the nachos!

First of all, staff was great. Everyone here was friendly and customer focused. Came by on a busy day, so may need to come back in the off season! I've always thought Coronado Brewing beer was good, and the Mermaid Red and Fogbound Brown held true-decent beers. Burger was ok, and they were great about splitting the plate. Fries were a little under fried.
Open atmosphere, friendly staff, overall good experience. Almost ordered the shrimp diablo, but I don't think penne pasta is the right pasta for that dish, maybe fettuccine or linguine would be worth trying. So I had the cheesesteak and fries instead (can't go wrong with that) - it was delicious. My buddy had the pulled pork and he ate every bite. We also ordered the hot tenders, but should have tried the volcano instead. For beverages we had the orange wit and the mighty dry cider. Everything was good and it's also right by the Skyline so it's a nice breezy area.
Didn't try the food didn't feel like much of a brewing company vibe but the staff was really nice!
Place was PACKED at 3pm on a Thursday. Found a spot at the bar which is adjacent to the grill, so it was kinda hot. They have a couple of dozen booths and patio seating too, but they were all occupied. It must have been happy hour, because pints were $4 at 3ish in the afternoon. First pint was their Orange Avenue Wit. Very similar to a Blue Moon but not executed as well. Very citrusy but not enough coriander. Pint number two was the Mermaid's Red Ale. It has a sweet citrusy, malty taste to it. It was just a tad on the dry side and I wasn’t expecting the citrusy taste in a red ale, but I really dug it. This was a good brew. As I said, the place was literally packed, and thus very noisy. They have a full menu, but I elected to consume all of my nutrients from a pint glass that afternoon.
Nice space and comfortable atmosphere. My wife and I each got a tasting flight and shared an artichoke dip appetizer. The beers came in 5x5 ounce taster glasses with a little paddle. The dip was ooey gooey cheesy and tasty. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. The only downside was the temperature. It was a warm day with high humidity and all that was running was fans. I know that's common around beach cities... But we were sweating while eating and drinking in our booth.
Good location, good crowd, great beers. This place is the real deal when it comes to beer brew options. Get the floor sampler, decent deal. If you like Fried Calamari, the Calamari Sticks are a let down; more like fish sticks. Came at a crowded time, be prepared to wait and slow service.
I had one of there local IPA beers with the blackened tuna sandwich. The tuna was very nicely prepared with great seasoning along with fresh avocado and tomatoes...yummy. The beer was good and cold, with a nice bitter bite. The service here is fantastic and the crowd is lively and fun to hang out with. I highly recommend this location to anyone visiting or passing through.
Stopped in for late dinner had the Spinach Dip with Tortilla Chips and a Side Salad and a Coronado Orange Wit The Dip was delicious I think the chips may have changed but still good the salad was very cool and refreshing and My beverage was as well. I recommend coming here at least once if u are ever in Coronado CA. I'm lucky I have a family member who lives on this beautiful island and can frequently visit many places.
Cool brewery. The beer is very good. 5/5 Beer. Overall the experience was decent. The food was pretty good but nothing mind blowing. The service was lack luster. We had a very inattentive waiter that took an extremely long time to check in on us. Another waiter actually had to help us because they were so slow.
Our group from work met here to celebrate a retirement (from the Navy) and promotion to another military base. Large group but service was friendly, courteous and on point. I ordered the Islander Ahi Poke and a Cool Beans Coffee Stout to wash it down. Perfect combination for a "lite" lunch.
Fun gastropub with good beer and cider selection. This is a very sit down location, doesn’t have a real brewery vibe as the bar is small and usually packed. We still sat down and tried the beers and shared some appetizers. Server was nice and attentive at first but quickly disappeared for over half an hour. Overall, good place to sit in for dinner, but not great for a quick pint.
We went here around 3 pm on a Thursday so we found some street parking quite easily but I saw there is also some parking in the back. Seated right away and we ordered got a house red wine, a flight of beers containing: Aloha Warrior American IPA, Orange Avenue Wit, Salty Crew Blonde Ale and Nado Premium Lager. I would rank 1st being Nado, then Orange, the Aloha and then Salty. For food we shared a Pretzel that came with Jalapeno Cheese, Honey Mustard and Spicy Mustard. I really enjoyed the Jalapeno Cheese for the sauce and hte pretzel was very well made. Nice to try out this restaurant and brewery.
I’m honestly very surprised at this restaurant! The food is really good! The drinks are very yummy and they have a little bit of everything if you’re into sweet drinks or more bitter, you will be able to find something on the menu. The place is really big and spacious. It gets very very hot in there though 😓 so if you run hot make sure to bring layers.
Excellent food options. I got Diablo Penne Pasta with chicken. My friend got the same dish but with shrimp. It was excellent. The only downfall. Her food portion was larger than mine I could have also done double protein. Would definitely buy it again as the flavor was great. Several other items on the menu sounded good too. Our service was awful though. He took a very long time getting an extra box, our tickets, we were only brought one set of silverware (hostess)…just kind of disorganized. Parking is limited. There is supposedly a lot out back. We found street parking a few blocks away because we didn’t know there was a lot in back.
Good beer and good food. This is more of a restaurant than a brewery, so it is family-friendly with traditional restaurant style seating. The majority of beers offered here are IPAs, but they had a Japanese lager I really liked. For food, I got the Coronado Pub burger, my husband got the fish and chips, and my daughter had the ribs. All of our food was good, but the ribs were excellent! The only downfall was the service. Our server was gone from the dining area for long periods of time. The tables around us had to ask other employees for their bills and refills on drinks.
A relaxed spot with good beer and quality food. I have been wanting to try the Coronado Brewing Company for awhile now as I have been a fan of their beer for years. We finally took a trip to Coronado and decided to try it out for an early dinner on a Sunday afternoon. It's away from the beach a bit, so it wasn't as packed as the others we were seeing. Parking wasn't easy, but we figured it out. Staff was friendly and helpful, although the relaxing environment made it seem like we had to hunt down our waitress for a few necessities. Not bad by any means though. The beer menu was bigger than I expected and had some surprises like seltzer and some collaboration brews. I tried a couple of the setlzers and they were great. I was very suprised and they hit the spot on the warm afternoon. Our table ordered a flatbread, two kinda of fish tacos and some kid's meals. For a beer-forward place, the food held its own. Everything was tasty and I especially liked the fish tacos. The food was good, but didn't blow us away and for the prices I would even call it a value. I don't think we really had any complaints, but nothing quite made us fall in love with the place. Food, brew and the staff was all good and made for a good meal after hitting the beach. If your a fan of the beer, you'll like this place. If your a foodie looking for a unique experience, you might try elsewhere. Either way, you can get a good, relaxed, no-frills experience here while drinking some fantastic beer in one of the most beautiful places in the United States.

The slight wait was ok. Service was sub par. Our waiter checked on us once after our food was done. Brought the check, never asked if we wanted dessert. The restaurant was very cold inside. The tables in front and behind us, both closed their blinds. We both had pasta dishes, which looked more like soup. Very watery.
Food was fine. Service was speedy but brusque. Vibe was solid though
We live in downtown San Diego, every so often we like to take the ferry to Coronado and take a walk across the island to the beach, stopping for lunch on the way. This time we choose Coronado Brewing. The location is terrific, it looks like a sports bar when you go in, and the staff was friendly. I ordered Cajun Tacos and they were 'meh. They weren't bad, they were just 'fine'. There was very little seasoning, I didn't expect much because we knew we were going into a sports bar/brew pub but it still didn't live up to the name. It should just be called 'grillled shrimp'. They'd still be 'meh, but at least it would be appropriately named. The hubs ordered their special, which was a Bratwurst Burger. He said it was really good. I am super bummed that I couldn't get it but I'm allergic to egg and a burger in a lettuce wrap just isn't the same (there's just something about the burger juices that get absorbed into the bun - and with a BRAT, I can't imagine how yummy that'd be). His burger came with waffle fries and I ordered tots as a side to mine. Both items were good, although I do feel like if you offer a couple of different kinds of tacos that chips/guac or dip should be offered. Or maybe that's just me? Our waiter was SO nice and good about answering questions, which I always have with my egg allergy. We'd definitely go again. Likely I'd just get a burger wrapped in lettuce, because I DO miss a good burger.
I truly value and support local business owners in our community, and I want to share my recent experience. Yesterday, two friends and I visited for burgers. Since we rarely eat beef, we decided to indulge and ordered two Baja Burgers and one Ahi Burger. Unfortunately, in my last bite of the Baja Burger, I discovered a wire bristle from a grill-cleaning brush in my food. I immediately gave it to our server, who was very kind and attentive. He took it to the manager, but the manager never came by our table to acknowledge the situation or apologize. While they did remove my meal from the bill, the lack of communication was disappointing. This is a serious food safety concern—had it been swallowed, especially by a child, the consequences could have been severe. Restaurants should avoid using wire brushes on grills for this very reason. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously to ensure the safety of future guests
It’s ok. Def not the spot to order onion rings or fish tacos as they were both below average. Honestly wasn’t at all impressed. Came here what seems like 15 years ago and really liked it, still draws a large crowd. Beers are always good here though, definitely worth a stop for a beer or three.
Had the chicken pesto...what a disappointment. The sauce was watery. Had some flavor. The chicken wasn't cooked so great. It definitely wasn't worth the $15. I love their beer but I would say DO NOT get their pasta dishes. Big disappointment. Sister had burger, she said it was great.
I really wanted to visit this place and the experience was pretty much the average experience we had in San Diego: mediocre and overpriced. The beer is great, got to try a couple brews. The fish tacos were bland and very unimpressive. My biggest disappointment is: Tijuana is half an hour from this place, you can bring some good cooks from there who know how to make proper fish tacos, like in Baja.

Waiter was great, he was honest, wait time was nil, the food was just OK. We had much better hopes only to be let down. We enjoy their beers but their food is eh at best, we'll never go back nor recommend.
The size of food are not huge , which is a good thing and that is why the price is good. but i ordered chicken tender which was as hard as goat,! When I told the server, he said oh let me go tell them and he never came back! I really expected them to think and care more about customers satisfaction 😒 so, I couldn't eat my dinner!
Food was very sub par, the fries tasted like cardboard and had zero salt on them. I would have thought being a brewery and all at least the fries would be good . My girlfriend currently has a stomach ache. The waiter was friendly but to be ignored by the hostess upon walking in and saying hello was just the beginning of this mid experience. Would not recommend at all
