Thank you Randy’s Donuts for my first birthday freebie — such a lovely way to start my birthday celebrations. I truly appreciated the kind gesture and friendly service. While the Nutella raised donut wasn’t quite my personal favorite, the experience itself was sweet and memorable. 🍩✨
Hi here’s my mixed dozen doughnuts with a 20oz hot vanilla latte to drink with friendly staff , great service, nice atmosphere, my favorite doughnut shop I’ve actually been to the original location in Inglewood & the one in El Segundo too other than here in Costa Mesa in Orange County. I’ve been going to Randy’s Donuts for years now.
Without a doubt the BEST donuts I’ve ever had. I totally understand the hype around them! I was visiting California when I tried Randy’s and went twice on my trip because they were that good. Both times I got a half dozen variety and all of them were delicious. My favorite was the s’mores and the classic glazed is delicious. I’m really hoping they open some locations on the east coast eventually because I think about them often! I was served super fast and the staff was so kind. I cannot wait to go back!
These are the best donuts in town - from traditional to modern styles, they’ve got you covered!
This place was amazing! RD assisted me on what items to get. I got their breakfast burrito and it was served fresh and fast. Tasted amazing and really great full for RD’s amazing customer service!
I’ve heard about Randy’s Donuts for years but never had the chance to visit—until now. That finally changed when I stopped by this location, and I have to say, my experience was nothing short of amazing. From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed with great recommendations on their most popular donuts and had a fantastic interaction with the staff. And, of course, the donuts themselves did not disappoint—they were even better than I expected! I’ll definitely be coming back before I leave the area. If you haven’t been yet, it’s absolutely worth a visit!
Like George and Louise Jefferson, Randy's Donuts is "a movin' on up" to additional new locations outside of Inglewood. Today's visit afforded the opportunity to try a vanilla crumb donut. A delightful variation on the classic raised glaze donut with a crumb topping that melts on the tounge to provide an extra hint of vanilla flavor. Although I had been to the original location several times and knew of the vanilla crumb donut, the menu photos don't do it any favors. The new locations, with walk in facilities (that the Inglewood location does not have), allow your visual senses to be overcome with a selection of temptations that, on today's visit, induced me to make a vanilla crumb donut purchase that I normally would not have bought.
We took a slight detour on our way to Disneyland to try these world famous donuts. Did not disappoint! The glazed donut was delicious, as was the butter crumb. Heck, all of the donuts were delicious!
the donuts here are so good. enjoyed a matcha tea donut and a strawberry filled one. they are having mango filled in May but it’s out of order when i was there
Needed a snack so I popped through the drive-through. Although they were out of espresso drinks, I was able to get an iced coffee with a regular glazed doughnut. The girl was working was very sweet and for a price of one donut and one iced coffee it was pretty affordable at around $6.50 would definitely stop by again!
We're from Ohio, and this is our first time visiting California. We stopped here for some donuts, and we were impressed. The donuts were super tasty! Loved the Texas sized ones!
Went in for the first time a few days ago. It is very clean and fresh inside! The wife and I were excited cause of the reputation, it did not disappoint! We got the best service from Star! She was really honest and told us what was good! Have to say, 3 days later, the donuts were very tasty! Coffee flavor Raised, Old Fashioned and the Crullers are great! We will be going back!
First time coming here. The specialty donuts were amazing. Staff was friendly but preoccupied with all the orders coming in from online. Would recommend for the specialty donuts for sure
To whoever was working last night in the drive there, you honestly made my day last night thank you! 10/10 customer service
I absolutely love these donuts! I take them regularly to many of my clients. They are always happy to receive them. The value for what you get is amazing!
Who can resist not stopping when they see a giant donut ?! I’m a curious George and thought I would just check it out. What a pleasant surprise. The bakery smell was intoxicating. Thought I would just look, but 15 donuts later, I was on the way to share them with my pickleball players. And of course the two donuts I chose for me … did not make it out of the parking lot ! Toasted coconut was perfectly crisp and delicious. Enjoy, explore. Happy Donuts !
I usually stop here once be a month and get donuts on Sunday morning. My recent visit to that area was today, a Saturday in the afternoon. The devil's food donuts were from the morning batch. Only makes business sense to sell everything you make, but they've been better. I ate them anyway, because donuts. My wife loved the apple fritter.
Great Kean Coffee Randy Blend and apple fritter, and a delicious buttermilk glazed old fashion donut!First time was tasty.
We love this location! We used to frequent the Pasadena location when we lived there but after moving to Fullerton, we're so happy we found this location (it even has the big donut). RD was so kind and pleasant to speak with. Comfortable seating too.
So I've got I've got a test for donut shops I call it "the glazed donut, Maple bar test", and it's about 99.9% accurate! It's a two-pronged study of "the donut shop" (Randy's) and it starts out at first with the glazed donut... because the maple bar will throw my pallet off a little So they passed the glazed donut Maple bar test replaced donut was just better and Krispy Kreme by far and the maple bar it passed now I got to go back and hopefully those puppies are warm at like 5:00 a.m. or 4:30 a.m. I forgot to ask I always ask and I forgot to ask. As I was eating my donuts in the parking lot drinking a really good cup of coffee too, I'll have to give them "a" "a" and "a" in an "a' for the coffee, anyway sitting in my car and pulling up information about Randy's, and there's a awesome Community journalist who writes in the daily Pilot in the la.times and she's written a great article about the family who bought Randy's donuts how the dad found that Randy's donuts on the market, just really really good reporting, She Hillary Davis I really enjoyed that article and I'll put a link to it at the end of this review, and I'm afraid if we don't support online subscriptions to the newspapers that are left we're going to lose some of the best journalists or should I say only journalists. Anyway check them out they're really good.
Staff went above and beyond serving me well. They were so thoughtful offering me a free cup of iced water without me asking. Two great guys.
Me my wife have visited Randy’s several times, on our most recent visit (05-18-25) We were helped by Artie. Artie was very knowledgeable about the products, he enjoyed his job and took pride in his work. We tried new flavors due to him taking the time to go through the different doughnuts.
I had never been to Randy’s Donuts before. My very first visit I was ordering for a couple different people and the employees were so patient with me. Then suggested I try the butter crumb donut thing. HANDS DOWN MY FAV. I’ve been back three times now 😩🤣. For sure a must have from the donuts down to the employees a great experience!
Ive lived next door to this place for 3 years. I’ve probably been here 100 times (literally). Every single time I’m met with a smile, the place is clean, the donuts are awesome and the coffee is on point. Works great as a late night bite as well if you go through the drive through. Can’t think of any other 24 hour places that have this level of quality & good service.
Best donut shop ever! Fresh, fluffy, and not overly sweet. I’ll definitely be back.
I actually had my donut in the store for the first time ever cuz I was actually getting my car serviced next door at the Honda dealer.
Nick!!! Thank you for making my daughters and I day! We were having a tough day and Nicks energy and suggestions on what we needed to try just made our day!!! Thank you Randy’s Donuts for having an amazing employee like Nick!!!
☕🍩WELCOME TO COSTA MESA🍩☕ Opened this morning it's Tue.3/9/2020.. how is it that there's reviews from 3 and 6 days ago? If I stopped by everyday since the first of the month. And it hasn't been opened for business yet.. 🤔 anyways, I picked up a french vanilla hot coffee and a dozen mix#2. Drive thru speaker was loud and clear customer service was great 👍.
First time Coming here as I've probably passed this place the last 3 times I've been to New Port. Of Course they forgot to give me 3 doughnuts as I asked for a Dozen and Mentioned this On My Yelp other then that I was Able to bring them back with me too Alaska and They are much bigger then Our Local Doughnut Place but still good none the less.
Nick provided such outstanding customer service and made the drive-through experience so fun for my daughter with trivia—huge shoutout to him! I had forgotten his name, but when I came back, Kimmy helped us this time and she also gave us a very positive experience. I love coming here with my kids and treating them, and I’ll definitely be back!
Superior ! I recommend! Breakfast burritos so delicious and portions are appreciated for Randy's is very generous :) will definitely return , oh yes and the donuts are delicious 😋 ❤️and look very decorative
I live right down the street from Randy's Donuts and the staff there is always great and have smiles on their faces no matter what time of day you go! They always have fresh donuts and always have plenty to choose from! Their coffee is also spectacular; i normally get Starbucks but to be honest Randy's has been becoming my new fav place to get coffee when I am craving it. I highly highly recommended going to your local Randy's Donuts and giving them a try!
The restaurant is very spacious with lots of seating. Clean environment. The staff is very accommodating with recommendations on the donut selections since it was my first time trying Randy's Donut. There were plenty of coffee choices. Unfortunately, I ordered two lattes but they didn't taste great. I'll definitely stick with their famous donuts when coming here. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.
Randy’s Donuts – Costa Mesa (Harbor Blvd) Rating: 4 out of 5 stars Date of visit: Weekday morning Order: 18 donuts Total: Just over $50 TL;DR: Big, flashy donuts that live up to the hype. If you want something over-the-top (or just really well-made classics), this is a great stop. Not cheap, but worth it if you're splitting a box or trying to impress the office. Went early on a weekday and had zero wait. Staff was cool, donuts were fresh, and the box had legit variety. --- What I Ordered: 18 assorted donuts. Mix of classic, fancy, and just plain wild. Some highlights: M&M Chocolate Raised – sweet on sweet, soft base with a candy crunch. Cinnamon Sugar Cake – crisp edges, moist inside, not greasy. A sleeper hit. Maple Bar – huge, fluffy, with a bold maple glaze. Old-Fashioned Glazed – crispy, sweet, nailed the texture. Square Glazed Raised – same dough as the classic round, but that shape adds some bite. Fruity Pebbles Raised – pure chaos. Very sweet but fun if you like cereal donuts. Pistachio Glazed – weirdly balanced and subtle. Really liked this one. Salted Caramel Churro (Deluxe) – the most extra donut in the box. Mini churro on top, sticky caramel icing, dense. Tasty but intense. Oreo Cookies & Cream – good cookie crumble and cream combo. Glazed Twist / Cruller – thick, chewy, old-school feel. Chocolate Sprinkle Raised – nostalgic and solid. Purple Iced Cake (maybe taro?) – good texture, flavor was just okay. Classic Glazed Round – no frills, done right. Powdered Sugar Cake – fresh, not too sweet, melts in your mouth. Maple Crumb – maple frosting plus a soft graham crumble — great combo. There were a couple others in the box I couldn't ID exactly (maybe filled ones?), but nothing was stale or over-fried. Everything tasted like it had just been made that morning. --- The Experience: Went in around 7:30 AM on a weekday. No line. No chaos. Just a chill morning donut run. Inside was spotless. The display cases were full, and everything looked fresh. Staff was friendly and patient even though I took a minute to pick out 18 different kinds. Parking was easy — lot’s not huge but it wasn’t full either. This spot’s in a small plaza so access is super straightforward. --- Pricing: $50+ for 18 donuts sounds high, but honestly, I didn’t feel ripped off. The deluxe and premium ones run around $3.50–$4 each, and even the classics are larger than average. You’re paying for size, quality, and creativity here. That said, I wouldn’t roll through here weekly unless I was made of money and had the metabolism of a teenager. --- What I Liked: - Big variety of styles and flavors - Donuts were super fresh - Creative toppings without being lazy (everything felt intentional) - Fast, friendly service even early morning - Clean, easy-to-navigate setup What Could Be Better: - A few of the deluxe ones were sugar bombs — fun but not balanced - Prices stack up fast Final Verdict: If you’re in the area and want donuts that go beyond the usual, Randy’s Costa Mesa is worth the stop. Whether you're after classic glazed or looking to try something stacked with cereal, cookies, or churros, they’ve got options. Just go in knowing it’s not a budget bakery — you’re here for fun and flavor, not a discount dozen. Would I come back? Yep. Next time I’m keeping it 50/50: half classic, half wild.
First time here. I won't drive to L.A. for a doughnut so I'm glad they have a location in the O.C. The chocolate icing is Rich unlike other places. The flavor is addicting. The Maple Bacon is loaded with bacon. The glazed was also very good. It's funny but the doughnuts were cold like they came from the fridge but they tasted fresh. All the employees were good and patient with the first time customers. They probably should turn the giant doughnut so you can see it better when driving down Harbor Blvd.
Delicious, down to earth donuts. Easy menu, quick drive thru. Huge donut holes! Highly recommend. We ordered Cinnamon Toast Crunch, fruity pebbles, chocolate crueller, funfetti, basic pink sprinkle, and and chocolate crondy. I would have given a 5 except that the frosting fell off of the donuts once you bit into them, and the cereal on too of the two special ones wasn't crunchy. Overall, great donuts!
We've been to this location every weekend for the last month. The drinks are inconsistent, but the donuts are consistently fresh and delicious. The drive thru is quick and easy. They aren't super or overly friendly, but they're nice enough. The iced drinks don't have enough ice or coffee, just tastes like chocolate milk or caramel milk. We will be returning for donuts, but we won't be getting drinks anymore.
Good donuts from an iconic chain. Unfortunately, the lady working when we were there seemed less than interested in serving us. We were the only ones there but yet she seemed bothered by our questions while deciding what to try for our first time at a Randy's Donuts.
The parking and drive tru is kinda iffy.i luckily parked where the drive tru line didn't block but I saw others have to wait for the line to move in order to back out. The donuts were cold like they had been in the fridge. The donut itself is good but the frosting was to sweet for me. We bought a couple of donuts and the plain buttermilk was the best even though it was cold. The rest had a thick layer of frosting and I couldn't really taste the matcha. Can't go wrong with chocolate but again not the best but not the worst. It's kinda pricey but at least I can say I tried Randy's donuts. May or may not go again.
Wanted to love this place, but can't do it. I've been here 3 times. The variety of donuts and fancy look of the donuts is impressive. But taste is what I'm looking for and here you have about a 50/50 chance of getting a tasty treat. I got a lemon buttermilk (tart and a little crunch to it) and a blueberry glazed on two different visits that were delicious. Today I got another lemon buttermilk and a croissant. The croissant was blah and the lemon was bland and oily. How disappointing. Also, I always go inside to avoid the long drive-thru line. But every time, even when the place is quiet inside the service is painfully slow. Sad, that beautiful big donut sign looks so inviting. But the place does not come through.
Have had good experiences previously at this location, but today that was not the case. Service was poor. Guy had difficulty with our order, realized he missed a doughnut when we got home. Had to stop while taking our order because he was interrupted by the last customer whose order he also had messed up. I should have taken the hint and either double checked my order or just left. The donuts aren't cheap, so you kind of want them to look nice instead of being literally thrown into the box on top of each other without a care. I asked for 6 of the small rounds, and he literally tossed them into the box with everything else, sideways, upside down sticking to the bottom/side of the box, etc. Also, got a pink cake doughnut that was really really salty, and I can't think that was intentional. Not a good day for this Randy's. Reluctant to return to this location if this is the level of service offered. I have to say the raspberry filled was fantastic, though. They can make really great donuts.
Not for me. I am an OG DK donuts kinda a guy. Very pricy and just not our thing.
The drinks are filled with a ton of sugar. Even the Hot Chocolate was so sweet. I wouldn’t recommend and drinks made behind the counter.
Family wanted sugar rush Saturday morning so we bought a cinnamon roll, jelly filled and sugar sprinkled donuts. All three were partially raw ..eww. usually their product is good Donuts now cost as much as a hamburger
I wanted to like this place more. I really did. The variety is really good, and the crew was friendly and efficient. Visually, the actual product is pretty appealing. The parking lot is tight, and prices are OK, but the disappointment is driven by the fact that the product simply isn't very good. Some donuts were too 'raw/fluffy/bread-like', many had much more sugar than flavor and a couple were quite good, but with so much competition, Randy's doesn't go beyond "average, overall" when you stack it up against Mag's.
So I wanted to go the iconic Randy's Donut, I went to the one in Costa Mesa, I got a Cinnamon Roll, it was very good size donut, my son got the Sugar Raised, we both bit into them and we both stated at the same time, it is cold, not like in glass case for a while, but pulled out of a fridge, we were there at 8:30 AM on Saturday, so I kept my Cinnamon Roll to eat later after heating in the window of the car, I got home and it tasted bad like it went off. How is this possible? We went through the drive thru.
Can you please specify selections on delivery platforms? The vanilla Oreo raised donuts is my favorite and the only reason I order donuts (only when I have a craving). It is always available on delivery apps but there’s no way to specify vanilla over chocolate (which I don’t even bother eating) and this is the same issue for the glazed donut holes. I only like specific flavors and have to order multiple to ensure they will at least give me one or the ones I want. today I ordered 2 of the Oreos and 4 of the glazed donut holes in hopes of receiving at least one of each that I want…but alas I received a completely different donut all together which I would have never ordered in the first place. I don’t just want a random donut, I’m paying for a specific type and I would really appreciate Randy’s updating the options because I won’t waste my time or money if it’s not available. Extremely bummed and not thrilled about wasting all these donuts.
Just came by to get a large caramel macchiato, and the woman at the window is abnormally rude and I actually am like a five star giver for this place. I love this place I live right next-door to it so I go often and I’ve never encountered her before. She had a lot of make up some glasses, Hispanic dark here, girl at the window right now at 2 o’clock And she just was not pleasant she put us on she put us on. She made us wait for a while, which is fine but when I said hello, to kind of make sure she didn’t forget about us. She was like she put me on a hold again it’s a donut place and it wasn’t that busy so she finally came took my order. I ordered one drink I go to the front give her a two dollar tip and she proceeded to not be very kind and slam the window after she saw that the coffee got all over my car and I asked her for napkins like I inconvenienced her so whoever she is, I hope the manager owner Asked to correct her behavior
I liked this place but recently I had a new experience; I pulled up to the drive-through and the worker told me it would just be a minute and I said OK no worries I’m not in a rush. A couple minutes later someone pulls up behind me (while we are still waiting) and they must think that I’m ordering for a big party because they start honking at me. Of course I just sit there and wait. The car behind me actually drives away because we are waiting so long. They finally take my order after what feels like Maybe six minutes. I pull up to the window to pay and I can see that there isn’t much going on in there. I apologize to the cashier about it and tell them it wasn’t me honking. She says well anyways whenever that happens, we take even longer for no reason just to be petty. It wasn’t even me honking and I still had to pay the price for someone else being rude, because the worker wanted to be petty. How embarrassing lol they weren’t even honking at you. The blonde chick said that she needs a few minutes to recover after that … after what? You’re probably going to be working there a long time. I hope that that was just a one off situation, but she basically admitted to me that it happens pretty often. And I can’t endorse a big waste of peoples time, the world doesn’t really revolve around you I can see now why the orders always take a while when other donut shops have me in and on my way in a couple minutes. Anyways, there are many other dessert and donut places in the area, I won’t be coming back but I hope that chick gets the help she needs
Don't come here late. 'm a fan of the chocolate/glazed crondies from Randy's, but they're always too chewy at this location, hard to bite through. The donuts are somehow always stale. The new one in Santa Ana always has fresher tasting donuts that never disappoint me, they just unfortunately close earlier.
Careful! They never close the lids correctly and if you don’t notice, your hot drink will spill and burn you. Also, double check your items if you go through drive thru, they always seem to mess something up. Update: gave them another chance and this time they gave me a COLD croissant
In my mind, the least a fresh donut shop can do is assure a good texture. This was spongy dry on the outside and spongy dry on the inside, reminiscent of a packaged donut off the shelf. At the very least, these were not fresh. And frankly the flavor was subpar, too. Wish I had only bought 1 and not 2 on my first visit - waste of $6. After the first bite and no one around to offer the other, I discarded both in the trash. At $3 a pop, these are way overpriced given the quality. I would rather buy a larger, tastier, and fresher donut from an upscale grocery store. Cool giant donut on top of the roof, but respectfully, I'm curious as to your clientele who keeps you guys in business. Must be the location.
If you don't mark the tip amount on the screen, they will charge the tip for themselves without asking.
I hated to post this as I loved randy's and spend close to 100 monthly on donuts for the family but I've been disappointed the last 7 times I've been there. I wait all year for the mango tajine Cinco de mayo donut so right away I ordered six. I ate one and noticed there was only one drop of mango filling. I thought maybe it's just this one. So my wife ate one and she complained about the same thing. So I cut open the remaining 4 of them and all six had literally one drop of mango filling. Last year they were filled as they should be at 4.00 a donut. I don't know what's going on but that's terrible. Then no staff ever says thank you after the transaction is complete which is very rude and they never have most of their donuts available after the morning is over. I try to order on their website and it shows donuts available so I pay and drive down there only to be told sorry we didn't have these particular donuts but I said these are why I came down here but they didn't seem to care. They tried to give me less expensive donuts but I said don't bother. I have more to say but I'll end it here.
Online ordering is a breeze! The donuts are always tasty and a hit I went to the drive thru line for the paid order and it went downhill from here, waiting over 20 minutes in line and I was late for my meeting I was taking the treats. A previous experience with drive thru was disappointing too. **There were only two cars ahead of me in line so I wasn't expecting this looong wait. Was there a malfunction of their system??
Great donuts but this location always has problems. First, they always give the wrong donuts so they are pulling out of the box and putting it back. Second, drive-thru blames only having 1 headset for not being able to move the line. 1 car orders, pays and gets their food before the next order is taken. Going inside is faster. Third, they are ALWAYS out of items. They just say “oh sorry we didn’t make enough.” Fourth, I only went once more to give it another shot to have my donuts THROWN into the box with no care from the employee. This is lovely drive-thru service. Overall point, as great as the pricy donuts are, avoid this location. Jump to a non-local chain and have less sugary bliss and items available (unless late morning order, especially weekends).
Got the wrong order to begin with and it was just two people in the drive thru. The red velvet didn’t even taste like red velvet. It was just really greasy and tasted old. We ordered two hot chocolates and they were both cold and taste like water. They were sold out of almost every item. This place is a no go for me.
Stop by today july 19th around 8:15 pm first off the service was horrible, yes 5 minutes of poor service . Girl at the counter was like a emo kid .no customer service skills at all. Actually kinda rude too. Ordered 2 Donuts 1glaze 1 coconut, both were beyond old . I guess I should have asked for a refund but I didn't. I assumed that being in Costa Mesa the Donuts would be fresh , not the case. Never going back
We love Randy’s donuts especially the glazed twist ones. My daughter ordered online a dozen variety 4 glazed twist etc. My son picked it up because he was in the area. When he opened it at home instead of glazed twist these are the ones we got. Very disappointed. Please let us know if you don’t have what we want just don’t throw any replacements.
Just went to order donuts and the woman taking our order at the drive thru would give us our total and tell us to go to the window after each item we asked for, but we hadn't finished ordering. Eventually told her I would let her know when I had finished saying everything we wanted. She gave us so much attitude and kept getting the order wrong. Just got home and did not get what we wanted or paid for
Ordered a cappuccino and donut. Once they take my payment then the other employeee tells the one employee that is charging me that he turned off the machine and he can’t give us my drink. I asked for my money back and he just said he’ll give me a iced coffee. Ice coffee was really bitter and no flavor. I would have just preferred my money back but the employee insisted on the ice coffee. What a waste of money.
Terrible customer. As soon as I came in, it was empty. Nothing against dykes, respect. But this particular one was rude as hell. She looks like the guy (where's Waldo) with glasses. She rudely told me to wait because has customers on drive thru. I assumed she was only one. So I waited 15 minutes. After she took my order she sarcastically said have a good and while blasting Michael jackson music. I had to ask for the receipt, she rudely said receipt will come out from the machine you can grab. Due to her rude and sarcastic behavior I didn't her in the machine. I walked away without saying anything. She seems pretty discriminat, not sure, but her service attitude. It took place 12/21/25 5:47pm. Avoid this location 2930 harbor blvd Costa Mesa ca 92626.
Always had great donuts here until today. I got a donor that was straight out of a box?? I think they’re icing boxed, plain donuts. It might have as well been an overpriced maple cake donut from Entemin’s.
