I would 100% book this trip again. We went to multiple spots and saw so many fish, Rays, nurse sharks (docile), starfish bigger than my head, and more. Tons of flora and fauna. Miguel and Julio were amazing guides. The snack was delicious and so fresh. It was a $10 cab ride from the cruise port.

Thank you for an unforgettable snorkeling trip! Our guide was always looking out for our safety and the safety of the reef. We went to four different spots and saw so many colourful fish, barracudas, starfish, stingrays, a sea turtle... the water was unbelievably clear and blue. Highly recommend :)

We stupidly didn’t book a trip in Cozumel in advance and just decided 1hr after arriving in the port on our cruise that we wanted to go on a trip. We contacted these guys and they were very helpful indicating how to get to their office. The crew of the boat were very friendly and respectful of the environment informing us that we couldn’t put on sun lotion as it would damage the reef. The boat itself was shaded so that was no problem. On the first stop we saw a few turtles and barracuda and plenty of other fish. The second stop we saw many stingray and a large lobster. The guide in the water was great (I can’t recall his name) but he seemed to be genuinely enjoying seeing the fish himself and communicated really well with us. He also respected the fish and reprimanded a snorkeller from another trip for poking a stingray with a stick which I was happy to see. The stop at the beach was beautiful. Yes it’s overcrowded with lots of people but we parked at the edge so it was quiet. We had stingray swimming inches away from us. Amazing. The snack of ceviche wasn’t to my taste but it was nice to try something local. Local beers and soda was also included. Life jackets were offered and they even insisted we use for the first stop to ensure we were comfortable in the water before we removed them. I would highly recommend the trip. If I could offer one room for improvement, transport to and from the ferry terminal should be included to save the $30+ round trip in taxis. Uber/Lyft is not available and I absolutely hate dealing with taxi people so that would improve the experience a lot for me! Overall I thoroughly enjoyed the trip and was so glad we went

Great day on the water Great snorkeling. Geovany was an excellent guide. We are in our 70’s so the ladder was a little hard to do so the guys helps us out getting in. no bathrooms in the boat.

My husband, nine year old, and myself went on this tour earlier this week. It was a top notch experience from beginning to end! Our guides, Carlos and Christian, were very friendly and knowledgeable. Our captain, William, did a great job of getting us to the different sites. My son was nervous at first when getting in the water and Carlos did a great job of pulling him around by the life ring and talking him into building up his confidence until he was ready to let go of the ring and snorkel without it. Christian took some amazing photos, including getting my son down into the water near a starfish and grabbing some shots. After 3 stops, we then went over to El Cielito and waded around near the boat while eating freshly prepared ceviche and having rays swimming around us. I’m not a seafood fan personally and I throughly enjoyed the ceviche. The picture package they offer at the end is 100% worth it in my opinion, it is around $125. We had an issue with our credit card being accepted, but thankfully got Apple Pay to go through. I would bring cash for it as a backup. Overall, an overwhelmingly amazing experience and one we will repeat if/when we return to Cozumel!

Would recommend this snorkel tour to anyone visiting Cozumel. Compadre Ricardo was an excellent guide, showing us around world class reefs with ease. We saw eagle rays, sea turtles, lobsters, nurse sharks, and countless species of fish within 30 minutes of being in the water. Fresh ceviche y cervezas at Cielo sandbar was the perfect way to finish off the day as well. You can’t get this type of snorkeling from the shore- book the tour!

Great and professional experience with maybe tours. We booked a snorkeling session through get your guide and it was well organized and incredibly fun. I was concerned about punctuality as I am on the tight schedule of a royal Caribbean cruise, but everything was very smooth. Recommended!

Nothing to complain about. The guide and capitán took us the locations they promised and were constantly pointing out fish for us to see and trying to make the most out of our experience. We saw starfish, variety of fish, stingrays, a sea turtle, and a barracuda! At the end of the tour we stopped at el cielo where we enjoyed some guacamole and chips along with some cold beers. I would definitely go back!

Loved our snorkeling experience with Jose, Fernando, & the Captain on the Xtup. Stopped at 4 amazing places all with different sea life making 4 unique experiences. Saw tons of fish, star fish, sea turtles, and even a nurse shark. Swimming with stingrays was the best! The guides were terrific & were able to speak English. They were very kind to the kids as well but made it super fun for us adults too. Would definitely go again!

Highly recommend! They were very accommodating for our family, with 4 kids ages 2 years - 11 years old. Got some really good photos with Star fish, stingrays, sea turtles, and other marine life. Stopped for lunch Caribbean style and had stingrays swimming at our feet while we ate! Such an awesome experience!

What a trip. I have despised the idea of hopping on one of these boats for years but the wife wanted to do it so I signed off on the experience to see some new stuff (our 10th trip to Cozumel). I could not have been more wrong. Or rather, the guides at Maybe Tours covered all the concerns I'd had. I won't make a big speech here, we do a YouTube channel (just search my name) and we did a whole, in-depth video on this trip so if you want more i sight check that out and feel free to comment, I'll answer. Man it was something. So happy with these guys. Absolutely worth the money and yes, we will be returning and going right back to these guys.

I don’t understand why they have bad ratings. Everything was great. The guide and captain were kind, and we snorkeled at four spots. They provided beer, drinks, and ceviche, and didn’t pressure us for tips. The only thing I didn’t like was that there was no pickup service—I had to walk an hour from the ferry terminal.

We did the snorkel tour yesterday. Although the weather was not great, guide Daniel made the best out of the tour. The four stops are great. Daniel is a knowledgeable and responsible guide. Only the asking for tips at the end was a little bit too intrusive to my taste. That’s why four starts stars instead of five.

Tour started an hour late and stopped to pick up people. Felt rushed at the reefs and too much time spent at the last stop with the sting rays. The guide also nudged a small nurse shark with his snorkel, causing it to retreat and hide. I don't like the idea of the animals being interfered with. Fish were excellent so the actual snorkelling is great but just choose another company if you don't want to be annoyed. By the time you get to Cozumel, get to the marina and then back to PDC it's a long day for maybe 1 hr of time on the reef

Good tour, we were lucky with the weather. Very disappointing however to see the photograph feed the fish to take better photos, for which then they charge 25USD each. This is not good practice for the wildlife, and moreover takes the experience away from you, as all the fish stays close to the photographer, and none around you.

Guide was a bit too fast and it was hard to keep close to him in the water. Tour felt rushed (we went to 4 reefs). Boat was so tiny with about 10 people crammed together. The boat departs from a dock about 20-min drive away and we didnt know that but at least the taxi ride was included. The reefs were quite nice and overall, so a decent experience. We paid about $80 CAD per person and I think for a little more $$ we could've taken a nice catamaran. What I really didn't like was how many times he encouraged us to tip. He even joked that we won't get our shoes back from them without a tip. It was awkward. He even clarified that 20 pesos is just $1 so we should be mindful (of not leaving too small a tip).

Unsafe and Poorly Managed Snorkeling Tour – Avoid This snorkeling tour was disorganized and unsafe as well as clearly overbooked. We were scheduled to depart at 10:00 AM but did not leave until 11:00 AM. It appears our 10am tour was overbooked, and we were placed on a much smaller boat than other groups, with little to no shade. We spent more than two hours traveling during the hottest part of the day, including unnecessary stops to pick up two other passengers in another port. The most serious issue was safety. No proper life vests were provided—only floating rescue blocks—despite snorkeling in deep water with strong currents. This is extremely dangerous, especially for children and inexperienced swimmers, which we had many. We were the only tour without life vests; all others clearly had them. The reef areas were overcrowded, and I was struck by a boat and had to be rescued by another tourist to avoid being run over. Instructions were rushed, and staff treated guests disrespectfully. Refreshments were poor, and on the return trip a crew member aggressively pressured passengers to drink tequila from the same bottle, yelling at those who declined. There was a clear difference between our tour and others in terms of equipment, guide experience, boat quality, and reef access. I strongly recommend avoiding this tour and choosing a catamaran instead somewhere else for a safer and more enjoyable experience. One of the worst excursions we’ve ever experienced – avoid at all costs. The entire experience was chaotic, uncomfortable, and far below any acceptable standard of safety or professionalism. Guide : Guia Lazarito ; captain : Roger We were crammed onto a tiny, noisy boat with 12 passengers and 2 crew members — 14 people in total. The boat was clearly overloaded: we saw the safety label on board, which listed a maximum weight capacity of 1,300 lbs (under 600 kg). That is far less than the total weight of 14 adults with equipment. This alone raises serious safety concerns. Life jackets were available, but everything else felt careless. There was no proper briefing, no clear safety instructions, and no real supervision during the snorkeling stops. Each snorkeling session lasted just a few rushed minutes. With strong currents, lots of boats around, and no guidance, we never felt safe in the water. Even worse, two of the snorkeling stops was done in open water during a tropical storm, with thunder, pouring rain, and reduced visibility. We were in the water with zero visibility and lightning around us — it was completely irresponsible and terrifying. The crew didn’t seem to take the situation seriously at all. The snorkeling gear consisted only of masks and snorkels, both in terrible condition — leaky masks, foggy lenses, unhygienic snorkels. No fins were provided. The snorkeling spots themselves were overcrowded and disappointing, with murky water, very few fish, and no turtles (which can happen, of course, but it’s heavily advertised in their marketing). As for logistics: we were told to meet “at the Cozumel ferry terminal” 15 minutes before the tour, but no one was there to greet us, and no transportation was included to get to their agency. We had to figure it out on our own. Once at the agency, we found there were no changing rooms or facilities, neither before nor after the tour — a complete lack of basic comfort. The only enjoyable part was the stop at El Cielito, a stunning shallow sandbank with turquoise waters where we got to see beautiful rays swimming around us. It was truly picturesque — but not nearly enough to save the overall experience. It was also at El Cielito that ceviche and drinks were served. Sadly, the ceviche was bland, the beer was cheap, and the juice was overly sweet — again, a clear sign of cutting corners. And finally, the worst part: the guide, Guia Lazarito, aggressively pressured everyone for tips, for both himself and the captain. He insisted openly and repeatedly, even telling some guests to go to the port to withdraw cash. When we gave what we believed was a fair tip, his behavior changed completely — he turned cold and dismissive, clearly unhappy. It was extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional. A tourist trap, not a proper guided tour. For your safety and sanity, stay far away.

We went on a 4-hour snorkeling excursion as part of our 7-day cruise. While our guide Angus was friendly and informative, the overall experience was awful—especially due to the captain, Philly (or Fily), who was completely unfriendly, stiff, and silent the entire time. Our group of 10 joined another family of 4. It took nearly an hour just to get to the snorkeling location. Once there, instead of staying close to the swimmers for safety, the captain drove the boat far from the group and remained distant the whole time, which made us feel unsafe and frustrated. I even voiced my frustration loudly, but he never acknowledged it. To make matters worse, the equipment provided was poor quality. My son’s goggles were loose and ended up falling off in the water. The captain then said he couldn’t get closer to the group or he’d be fined—something that should have been explained beforehand. We had just snorkeled in Honduras, where the captain was involved, supportive, and close by—such a contrast to this! Our guide was busy snorkeling on his own, wandering away from the group while taking pictures. There were 3 quick stops (about 15 minutes each). At one, they served us ceviche—but the portion was tiny and clearly not enough for 14 people. The drinks included cheap beer, water, and sodas—not impressive. At the end, they asked for tips and even tried to charge us 500 pesos ($25) for the goggles my son lost—even though the goggles were theirs and clearly defective. This excursion was overpriced and poorly executed. I would absolutely NOT recommend this company for snorkeling in Cozumel.

A Big Disappointment Despite a Stunning Natural Setting We booked what was supposed to be a 4-hour excursion, but it only lasted 3 hours. The guide accompanying us was not friendly or engaging at all, it felt like he was just there to get the job done as quickly as possible, with no effort to share information or make the experience enjoyable. Everything felt rushed, and there was no time to truly appreciate anything. Luckily, we didn’t stick too close to the group, which allowed us to spot a number of marine species, including sea turtles, something the rest of the group completely missed because they were moving too fast. At one point, a woman in our group accidentally kicked a turtle that was surfacing, and the guide didn’t even notice. He seemed completely inattentive when it actually mattered, yet was overly strict when it came to pushing the pace. After about 30 minutes of actual exploration, we were taken to a shallow sandbar with about 50 cm of water, surrounded by loud party boats blasting music. We were left there for an entire hour, doing nothing. This is not what we paid for, we expected a wildlife-focused experience with coral and marine life, not to stand around on a crowded sandbar. The guide provided no explanations or information about the environment or the species we saw. The only real highlight was the stingrays that came close, drawn in by food thrown from the nearby boats. That was the only truly memorable part of the trip. As for the snack: it was a tiny portion of ceviche meant to be shared between two people, and the drinks were honestly awful. We returned to the port an hour early, which just added to the sense that this excursion was not worth what we paid. To top it all off, the guide put serious pressure on everyone for tips. He told us outright that he didn’t have a salary and stood over each person with a tip box, insisting not only that we tip, but also specifying the minimum amount. We normally always tip, even without being asked, but this was completely inappropriate and uncomfortable. In short, the natural environment was beautiful, but that had nothing to do with the service or the organization of the tour. It could have been an amazing experience, but it was completely ruined by poor management and an unprofessional guide.
