limosneros Cuauhtémoc Reviews
I had an amazing experience at Limosneros. I’ve heard great things about their food, and it truly lived up to the hype. From the refreshing aqua fresca to the decadent dessert, every dish was a delight. My absolute favorite was the chocolate tamale dessert—so unique and delicious! The service was also exceptional, with attentive staff who were eager to explain the flavors and ingredients of each dish.
We had a fantastic lunch at Limosneros and were truly impressed by their refined take on Mexican cuisine. The flavors were authentic yet elevated, showcasing traditional Mexican ingredients in a modern and elegant way. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and full of depth. The atmosphere is stylish but welcoming, and the service was attentive and professional. A great place to experience Mexican food at a high gastronomic level. Highly recommended.
Limosneros was one of those meals that truly earns its Michelin reputation. Everything was excellent, but the most memorable dish was the squash blossom taco made with huitlacoche, otherwise known as corn smut (a fungus). One of us had the Gin Santo, which was wildly herbal with a subtle anise note I had a margarita made with kombucha; both drinks were fantastic. The service was absolutely impeccable, the restaurant is beautiful, and it comes highly recommended.
I’m a solo traveler on my first visit to Mexico City and wanted to experience an incredible meal before I headed home. Limosneros did not disappoint! I was there on a Sunday afternoon and tried the testing menu. Every dish was pure perfection. My server, Roy, was so attentive. He explained each dish and made sure to keep checking on how I was enjoying it. This may have been the best meal I’ve had and an overall wonderful experience. I highly recommend.
Tried the taco tasting menu here and couldn’t finish it all. The tacos aren’t that big, but there is a lot of topics on them. If you are adventurous definitely try the Mexican caviar one. The vibe of this place was great, but it was mostly visited by foreigners and tourists as it’s on the pricier side
Absolutely amazing dining experience! ✨ Every dish at Limosneros was full of flavor and beautifully presented — Fresh ingredients, refined taste, and a perfect balance of traditional and modern Mexican cuisine. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the cozy stone-wall setting with chill music made the evening unforgettable. Highly recommend this place! 🇲🇽🌮🍷
Had a great time! We had the taco tasting menu with the beer pairing and my partner had the vegetarian tasting menu. Food was amazing and very reasonably priced for a Michelin starred restaurant! The staff were very friendly and helpful and spoke good English (which was super helpful for us). Would definitely recommend!
My wife and I consider ourselves “foodies” as in a large portion of our vacations include booking restaurants and enjoying local food. The first half of our trip we stayed in Condesa and Roma Norte and Historic District and ate at a ton of amazing restaurants. My wife booked Limosneros on our last night and I can’t recommend it enough. It was hands down my the best meal and my favorite experience I’ve ever had anywhere. My wife ordered the chef tasting with the wine & mezcal pairing and I had the taco tasting with the beer pairing and we shared all of the food. It was a lot of small portions spread out over a few hours and each plate was unique and very complex flavors. Again, I can’t recommend this restaurant enough!
My wife and I are visiting Mexico City for the first time and came to Limosneros to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. Our Spanish is quite limited but staff were welcoming and accommodating, and made us feel welcome. We ordered the Chef's tasting menu with wine pairing. Each course was generous with the wine and paired well with the dish. We loved everything. Our favorite wines were the last two in the sequence. Our favorite meals were the hamachi, corn soup, and the bean and corn taco. The duck dish wasn't our favorite. We were impressed and pleased with the experience and the staff. Thank you for making our anniversary a special day. 😊
What a Gem! We went on a Monday night and there were maybe three tables filled. We were welcomed by a well staffed team, with smiling faces and helpful recommendations. We enjoyed each and every single dish, both for their distinct flavors and presentation. While the decor could be updated, as it feels a bit lost in light and lacking a cohesive theme, the overall service and food more than make up for it! HIGHLY recommend. Having bene to several Michelin starred restaurant on this visit, this one isn’t far from making that next step 🥂
Since arriving in Mexico City, we’ve struggled to get waitstaff to understand what “gluten free” means. This place was a breath of fresh air - the staff asked about dietary restrictions when we were seated and the server was knowledgeable about what I could and couldn’t have. He made great recommendations and the food came out quickly. It was mostly empty as we came on a Wednesday night but the service was still top notch. We ordered the hamachi crudo, the wagyu tacos, the al pastor tacos and the mojarra fish dish. Across the board the food was good but we both felt all dishes needed acid and heat. The tacos leaned sweeter than I was used to and the hamachi had a fishier taste than I like - something that could be overcome with lime and chile.
A local chef recommended Limosneros and it was everything and more. For appetizers, we had the Mexican Duck Foie Gras with free-range duck, camagua corn, basil & elderflower, and prickly pear, and the Pulled Duck Tostadas made with bean, avocado, carpaccio, cilantro flower, and serrano chili. Both were incredible. The pulled duck was packed with flavor, one of the standouts of the night. For entrées, we both ordered the Taco Tasting, which kicked off with two croquettes (mahi mahi & Oaxaca) that set the tone perfectly. The taco lineup was unforgettable: Cuitlacoche Taco, Escamol, Stuffed Chili Taco, Al Pastor Taco, Wagyu Skirt Taco, and even a Sugar Cotton Candy Taco for dessert. Every taco made you forget the last one…each was that good. If I had to choose a favorite, it’s a tie between the Stuffed Chili Taco and Wagyu Skirt Taco. Both absolutely stole the show. A fermented non-alcoholic pineapple drink was served to refresh the palate between tacos as a nice touch. Service was excellent and the pace was perfect for a mindful dining experience. This place easily surpasses 5 stars. Every single dish was delicious. We’ll definitely be back.
This restaurant has several tasting menus: chef’s, seasonal, vegetarian and taco. I chose the taco tasting menu which has 5 tacos and 1 sweet taco. The food was absolutely delicious, the service impeccable and friendly and the cocktail and beer very good. I especially loved the Crispy Squash Blossom taco and the sweet taco - wonderful!!
Please make yourself a favor and visit this place if you love and wish for yourself only the best. I was in Mexico for a short period of time, but returned to this place twice! Very unique and exceptionally delicious restaurant. Worth coming to Mexico City just to eat here again. The best octopus in my life, super delicious tacos, foie gras, meat donuts, and duck!
I had a late diner here and was once again very satisfied with every aspect of the experience (I dined in last at the end of '22). I started on the guacamole with sweetbreads which was easily the most generous serving I have gotten in this city. Next where the grasshoppers and giant ant eggs to top of the guacamole. Wow, they added a lot of flavor and crunch. I also had the oxtail topped by eel, an incredibly rich dish followed by the bone marrow. I was super stuffed by then, but because I had wine left in the bottle of Mexican red, I ordered a rich desert which just about finished me off :) Now, some reviews have called some of the dishes bland which surprises me. There were two types of sauces on the table, one green and one red, both very flavorful. This is what one adds to Mexican food to punch it up if required, just like one would add salt and pepper to Western cuisine. I often get some limes in order to add acidity here and there if the dish, the eel and oxtail for example, needs a "lift". The service was fantastic, especially my main server, who's name I didn't catch. They could expand their selection of Mexican wines a bit, but the one I ordered definitely was excellent. I definitely would dine here again but will order a bit less this time around :)

Excellent innovative food. Very nice wine list. Service was outstanding. Probably the best restaurant we visited in Mexico City.

Great taco and beer tasting for a fair price! 6 great tacos and 6 great beers. If you're lucky the chef might even treat you to some additional specials!

The food was amazing & the space is beautiful. We didn’t want to do the special where they bring you food so ordered an appetizer & then split rabbit & meat taco. Very yummy!
Excellent restaurant. Everything we ate was delicious from the appetizers to the main course. The staff is very polite and professional. We booked to return again.

Beautiful restaurant but a tourist trap with very overpriced food which lacks rich flavour. Mexico is one of the best countries when it comes to delicious food but $260 for two tacos with such a mild flavour and little meat was disappointing when the street vendors around the corner have delicious tacos for a fraction of the price. Their drinks were nice but still very expensive compared to other restaurants in the city. The staff were friendly however my waiter was very pushy in trying to upsell me their most expensive drinks when I sat down and tried to avoid telling me the price of the drinks he was offering and was trying to suggest it was completely. Same when I refused the desserts. If you want an Instagramable experience with beautifully presented food you will enjoy this restaurant but if you want delicious authentic food I’d suggest going somewhere else.
For a place that has been featured on the Michelin guide, we were left slightly disappointed. Our entree was beautiful but slightly bland. The cocktail we tried was very average. We ordered guacamole and while it was tasty, it was not impressive. We were also disappointed by the tortilla chips. They were stale and incredibly hard. We asked for new ones and that batch was about the same. For a Mexican restaurant, good tortillas and chips are a prerequisite. We hoped the entrees would bring things up a bit, but we had mixed results. The mole negro was just okay. What I love about mole is the mix of a savory sweet with the finish of a full spice. This mole managed to do neither but favored a strong charred taste. The only saving grace was the 21 day duck. This was a dish of the caliber we were expecting. The duck was incredibly savory with a delicious layer of crisp fat. Overall, a decent restaurant but we hoped for better given previous reviews.
We had the tasting menu, which might have been a mistake. Dinner took two hours and cost MX 4000 before tip--literally ten times the price of some of the other restaurants we went to. None of the…

The restaurant experience was great. The service was attentive. Good ambiance. Unfortunately, about 30 minutes after leaving the restaurant, my wife and I both became violently ill. The food poisoning lasted all night with us taking turns dashing to the bathroom unsure which end would erupt. We are sure it was from this meal as neither of us had eaten anything in the 6 hours prior to the meal.
