My tacos al pastor were the best ones I’ve had in this neighborhood. ¡Y si son de trompo! The tortillas are made fresh, in house, the salsas are all very good and the menu is small, but solid. An actual taqueria rather than a huge menu rotating proteins with prepackaged tortillas. These are tacos the way you’d have them at your local taqueria in Mexico. Say hi to the owner, Victor, he’s very welcoming and shows pride in what he’s doing.

Hands down the BEST tacos in Queens. The al pastor and carne asada tacos taste amazing. The customer service is excellent. This is now my go to spot for tacos.

Amazing tacos! Can’t go wrong with any of the options. IMO, better than Taqueria Ramirez. Tortillas are nice, made in-house, gluten free I believe, and edges are crispy. Meat is tender. Really love the salsa (especially smoky chipotle, and the extra spicy one).

Estaba muy rico y el servicio estaba buen bueno. Los tacos son muy buenos la carne es bien suave y fresca y tu mismo ponles lo que quieras. El taco es a 4 y los de res a 4.50. Lo único es que los tacos son un poco chicos pero igual son bien buenos 10/10

Incredible on all levels. Best Al Pastor I’ve have stateside and it might even be better than the great places I’ve tried in Mexico City. Everything on the menu was great and their homemade salsas were incredible. Homemade tortillas too! Lovely place with lovely people. Run there don’t walk!

I recently visited Tacos Don Jose 1 and I’m still thinking about it! This incredible mom-and-pop establishment truly honors the legacy of the late Don Jose, who was such a staple in the community. You can feel the pride, tradition, and heart behind everything they serve. From the first bite, you can tell everything is made fresh and with real care. The flavors are authentic, bold, and truly distinct from other taco spots in the area. The tacos de al pastor were absolutely amazin, perfectly seasoned, juicy, and packed with that signature smoky sweet flavor. The tacos de asada were tender and flavorful, cooked just right with a delicious char that made every bite satisfying. I was especially impressed with the tacos de nopal (cactus?! I would've never thought.) fresh, vibrant, and uniquely delicious, with a wonderful balance of texture and flavor. And the gringas? Next level. The melted cheese combined with the flavorful meat and warm tortilla made them rich, comforting, and unforgettable. The Tortillas are made on the premises, daily. Making it that more fresh and reason for the great pricing of these items. The menu is tiny but mighty. It’s not just great food, it’s a place that represents community, tradition, and authentic Mexican flavor. If you’re in Corona or anywhere and craving tacos that are fresh, unique, and made with heart, this is a mustvisit. I don’t usually write reviews, but this place truly deserves it. The tacos are some of the best I’ve had in a long time. The flavor is authentic, juicy, perfectly seasoned — it honestly reminded me of Mexico. The last time I had tacos this good was there. Even walking 20 minutes in the rain was completely worth it. If you’re looking for real, high quality tacos, this is the spot.
