Roy's Breakfast & Lunch Cypress Reviews
Ordered: Steak and Eggs Price: $13.99 My medium steak was well seasoned, didn't need any steak sauce. Potatoes were delicious. Buttered bread hit the spot and eggs were cooked to order of sunny side up. Food came quick! Overall, would come back again when in Texas, especially since the price is great (coming from a Californian where the same meal would cost $5+ more)
We were so fedup of going to our “usual” breakfast spots that we decided to try a new place. Roy’s popped up on our google maps with a good rating so we were on the way there. Since it was a week day, I called in to ask if they had Wi-Fi I could use to work whilst enjoying my breakfast and to my surprise they did!! We visited on a 9 AM weekday so the place was pretty empty and we were able to get a table we liked. Our server Monique quickly greeted us and got us hot coffee along with some flavored creamers which was great. We ordered the French toasted from the daily specials plus the Steak quesadilla. Both the items to our surprise were so tasty and full of flavor. It was definitely a good place to enjoy a quiet breakfast with friendly service and delicious food. We will definitely be back!
Me and my 96 year old grandma went here for brunch today, it was absolutely amazing! The staff was all super nice, even walked my grandma out to the car and opened the car door for her! My grandma got the salad and said it was absolutely delicious and it’s our new favorite brunch place, I definitely recommend it!! Once again the staff was amazing and super helpful, we’re definitely going back multiple times!
Very Nice Family owned and operated. Everything on the menu looked fantastic. I settled on the Chicken Fried Steak. It totally hit the spot! The potatoes were very dry (not necessarily a negative thing) next time I would add Cheese and peppers and onion which you can do for a small up charge. Fast service with a smile. I highly recommend this simply quaint little spot.
Really enjoyed our breakfast there. Love that it's convenient and close to home. Not too busy and food came out hot. Had the pancake , eggs and bacon. The pancakes were a little tough but they were ok.
Went there for breakfast today. Food came out hot and in a timely manner. The couple that runs the cafe are very friendly. The portions are quite adequate and reasonably priced. Nice to have somewhere close to home to go to!
Amazing food, great service. Old school cafe vibes made for a quiet cup of coffee and their breakfast quesadilla was delicious! Will definitely be back

I don’t know how long this place has been right outside my neighborhood. My husband kept telling I need to go there well I did. My breakfast was so good I can see myself going back there to try other items in the menu. Price reasonable, kids friendly.

This place is a top notch neighborhood spot. They are quick, good and friendly. I’ve ordered here 10+ times and the food quality never drops and they always serve timely and with a smile. Really great spot.

Food was decent, very plain and pretty fresh. Don't expect a ton of flavor but you will appreciate the portions, freshness and service.
We've always passed by this breakfast restaurant but never gave it a shot. Yesterday, we were in the mood for a big breakfast, so we decided to try it out. We were greeted by a friendly lady and seated immediately. The restaurant has a nice homely feel to it and seems to have many regular customers that dine in or pick up to go. We decided on the breakfast steak quesadilla and chicken quesadilla. Both came with hash browns on the side. The hash browns were made a little different than what we're accustomed to, but it was a nice surprise. The chicken quesadilla was delicious. The steak quesadilla was good, but the meat was a little tough. The flavor was on point, but the chewiness of the meat was a bit disappointing. Coffee was nice and hot, and the nice lady was always ready to pour refills. We also ordered one egg over easy and asked for some sauce. She brought us out a hot ranchero sauce, so I was able to make my own huevos rancheros, which was delicious. There were many items on the menu that we wanted to try, so we'll definitely be back to try some of those, just not the steak quesadilla. Overall, it was a good experience.
Took my son to this breakfast spot that bears my name hoping for a good breakfast. It's always nice when you can enter a restaurant and allow you to sit where you want. I ordered coffee and it came lukewarm. I usually don't order coffee at a restaurant because more often than not it's not to my liking. Sure enough it wasn't. I like my coffee hot and it was far from it. We ordered and upon arrival the hash browns weren't hot, neither was my toast. You guessed it, like my meals hot off the grill. The ham and cheese omelette was good and the service was ok. The server forgot to bring us water. I usually don't nitpick when I'm out but I was expecting far better. It's a decent looking breakfast and lunch spot with plenty of parking. My son enjoyed his breakfast so it's getting a 4! You might fare better than I. Others say it's a good place for breakfast. Try it.
Best service with a smile best home cooked meal just like mother used to make every morning my girlfriend and I are from Austin for the weekend visiting family this was our first choice so let's come again and enjoy some good food good coffee with good people😁

Spring Break 03/12/2024 This was my first visit at this establishment but my husband's second visit. I've come across this establishment on Yelp quite a few times when searching for breakfast/brunch restaurants in my area. I've even driven past it quite a few times in the past and was sort of iffy about trying them out. However, it turns out, I quite rather enjoyed the food and service. Firstly, this is not an upscale breakfast/brunch establishment but rather your typical local diner that serves breakfast and lunch menu items. The dining room is pretty clean and well-kept. Customer service was excellent! Our server, Rodolfo, was very welcoming, friendly, and attentive during our entire visit! He greeted us as we walked in and told us to find a table wherever we would like to be seated and that he would be with us momentarily. I absolutely appreciate great customer service, especially when I'm spending my hard earned money patronizing any establishment. It makes me want to continue to come back and spend more money. Rodolfo brought us a menu and took our drink orders, in which I ordered a hot cup of coffee and hubby ordered orange juice. Our server offered me various choices of cream to accompany my cup of coffee and I went with my favorite flavor, hazelnut. My coffee was actually hot and not lukewarm like I've been served at other establishments in the past. So, I definitely appreciate that. Thanks Rodolfo. Secondly, for our food, I ordered an omelet consisting of spinach, mushroom, jalapeños, and onions, with turkey sausage and hash brown on the side. I really enjoyed my breakfast! The hash brown stole the show being that it was authentically prepared homemade style. The spinach and mushrooms that were on my omelet were very fresh, which was so refreshing. I love fresh vegetables rather than old withered ones, which sometimes I've had different restaurants try to get over on me by serving me some old worn out vegetables. But not here. My only complaint is that they do not serve avocado or cilantro, two ingredients that I love on my omelets. However, the food was still delicious and enjoyable. Furthermore, my husband ordered a waffle, scrambled eggs, and turkey sausage (well done). He enjoyed everything except for the waffle and complained to me that it was too spongy-like making it difficult to cut into it, instead of possessing a crunchy texture and easy to break apart. He said that it was as if he had to wrestle with the waffle to break it apart, which could only lead to one's imagination that the waffles served at this establishment are frozen waffles that are heated in a microwave versus waffles that are prepared on a waffle maker. However, he said that the eggs were scrambled to perfection without any of the brown scorching that he so despises and without all the wet residue on his plate when eggs have been undercooked. The orange juice was nice and cold and very refreshing. Overall, hubby and I enjoyed our dining experience at Roy's Breakfast and Brunch diner. The food was served in nice portions and was hot and fresh. The ambiance is moderate noise with diners conversing over a hot meal. The dining area and overall presentation of the restaurant was pretty neat and clean, so no complaints there. Parking is plentiful as it is in a small business strip with other businesses. The place was not busy at all when my husband and I first arrived. However, as we were dining, more and more patrons began to walk through the door. So, the place can get busy around a certain time of day. I believe it was around 9:30-10:00 am at the time of our visit. We really like this place and will return. Highly recommended for those who enjoy local diners that serve delicious (somewhat authentic) hot breakfast/brunch.
Lunch at Roy's today, my first time. While it appeared clean and my server was very hospitable, I couldn't help but feel that the place had no identity. No music, bare walls and just a single bit of corporate art in the very back next to the bathrooms. There was a soda fountain as well as a cooler with some Latin-flared beverages and the entire staff was Hispanic. Maybe a Texas Cafe theme would work for them?? I had the mushroom bacon burger with fries and it was pretty good but nothing exceptional, ya know? I feel as if there is a ton of potential here but I can't think of anything remarkable that would drive me back. Maybe the breakfast is remarkable. Again, it wasn't BAD, it was just not special. And in the restaurant business, that's everything.

Food is good and we usually love ordering from here BUT all of our food was melting through the styrofoam plates. Nothing like a side of chemicals and cancer with your breakfast! :')
My husband and I had breakfast from Roy's today and I was excited because of the great reviews but unfortunately I was terribly disappointed. I ordered the steak and eggs with a side of French toast. The French toast was very good, but I'd have to give the steak and eggs a 0. The steak was severely overcooked. It tasted like the bottom of the oven and was barely edible. The eggs were also overcooked and bland. I did like the side of hash/potatoes but even they were just ok. My husband had a burrito with bacon, sausage egg cheese and hash. He said it was good but just a little too much hash. He did say the salsa was trash though. Safe to say I won't be returning here unless it's for the French toast.

The young ladies working the floor were doing their best — super friendly and working hard to keep up with a packed restaurant. What really killed the vibe was the lady in the kitchen yelling at them the whole time we were trying to eat. These girls were juggling full tables and to-go orders, and instead of helping, the kitchen lady kept yelling things like “pay attention” and complaining about how it’s going to cost her. She even shouted across the restaurant for one of them to come to her while the poor girl was clearly cleaning a table to seat another group. Here’s a tip for whoever’s running the kitchen — don’t send half the order to the window until the whole ticket’s ready. Basic stuff. My whole family got their food, and mine showed up five minutes later. The service from the servers was great. The problem’s the kitchen and the attitude coming from back there. The owner really needs to check what’s going on because that kind of behavior sets a bad tone for everyone. This was Sunday morning, 11/02.
The cook needs to realize that eggs fried medium means the whites of the egg are cooked completely. In spite of how many order are waiting to be created. Creating the order WRONG is a sure way to assure your customer won't be back.

Don't know what's up with this place! Have enjoyed it for 2 years. Walked in today and was freezing inside. It was miserable everyone in there was miserable. I asked why they don't tun on the heater, the reply was cross contamination. for the dining room that is not true. I touched the table and it was like touching the inside of refrigerator. If you're hvac is out be truthful and someone might try to tuff through it once. A bull shot lie, I decided to find a comfortable place to spend my money.
I ordered a steak medium well and it came out very well done. I took two bites because I was very hungry and couldn't eat it. I told our server about it she said I will take it back and fix it. The server came back to the table with a message from the manager stating "next time send it back and do not touch it". She then proceeded to talk about us in SPANISH however I'm bilingual and understood. She talked about us called us stupid and said I'm not giving them a full piece of steak. She CUT my steak to a small size and the middle was full of fat. I have eaten here many time however the way we're were treated and TALKED about by the manager I will never return. I say be careful what you say. You never know who know what. I'm retired Military so I speak many languages.
