Happened to be in the area, saw the reviews, and decided to give it a try for the first time. Ordered a burger, chili cheese dog, fries. The double cheeseburger is $10 but it is very large and flavorful. The chili cheese dog was awesome. Everything was seasoned perfectly, even the fries. I couldn't finish my food. The soda tasted bit off but I'll let that slide. I will be returning when I have a chance and telling my friends about how good this place is.

It's been years since I visited Burger House, but it is still amazing!!! Burgers are delicious, only place I'll have mustard on my burger. The fries, can't say enough about the fries they were immaculate as I remember them!!! I love going back to childhood place and it hasn't changed at all!!!

My company recently celebrated their 25th Anniversary. On an employee recommendation, we asked Burger House to come in and cater the event for us. They did an amazing job from start to finish. Their catering is full service and hassle free, and they didn't blink an eye at our special requests. It was a pleasure working with Steve, Chris, and their guys and I hope that we have the opportunity to use them again in the future!

If you don't like a lot of spices (onion, garlic, cumin, etc) this place is not for you. If you do, and you also don't like paying $10 for a double double, this is your place. Always disappointed it's closed on the holidays, which is the only time I can't avoid Dallas. Easily a go out of your way place to visit. It just even isn't close. Inflation has hit this place, but the QUALITY is just so good. If you have a BH close you are wasting money elsewhere. This is 5star all the way.

I got the double cheeseburger with onion rings and Oreo shake. It was so good. The onion rings did get soggy because I had to drive, so I strongly suggest eating onions rings inside for the most fresh taste. The burger is top tier, a simple, fresh burger. Great drive thru customer service as well.

I've always passed by Burger House, telling myself that I need to give it a try and finally, I did! I dined in with my partner on a calm Friday evening. No line, we were greeted immediately and our order was taken with a recommendation! We couldn't decide whether to get onion rings or fries so we got half and half! Even with the power going out while they were making my food there was enough residual heat in the grill and fryer to finish my order. I have been coming to Jack’s burger house since 1973. The original is located by SMU on Hillcrest road. I come to this location for ease of parking. The famous salt is what makes this place so special. My favorite is a chili cheeseburger and regular fries. The milkshakes are absolutely amazing. I grew up loving this, and I loved it on my recent revisit. Perfect food, perfect building, perfect atmosphere. \nThere is no burger joint (in Texas, at least) that can match it.

I had a Chicken sandwich french fries and a medium drink. Which was good. Served hot and fresh. I have visited Burger House in the past. But it's been at least a couple of years. Since I no longer live in Dallas. Since I was in town on a business trip, and shopping at a near by location I decided to have lunch at the Burger House. I was of course not disappointed. I had a overall pleasant experience. the staff was polite and friendly. They handled my order promptly and efficiently. It was not very busy when I was there. Well lit and very clean. Plenty of parking etc. They have a extensive and varied menu. with good prices.

Tried Burger house for the first time today and had a nice experience. If you are looking to go back in time, enjoy a burger in the dinning room and you will feel like you are back in the 90s. The fries were tasty with the special Burger House seasoning and the staff was friendly.

Old time burger restaurant. I had a grilled cheese sandwich, onion rings, and chocolate shake. The grilled cheese was very unique, if you love melted cheesy goodness you'll love it like I did. They use a hamburger bun and it is pressed with a lot of melty American cheese. The bun isn't very toasty, but I still liked it. The shake was great, a lot of Hershey's chocolate that flavored the real ice cream shake. Perfect thickness, not too stiff to drink. The onion rings were not my favorite, but if you like the onion cooked soft, seasoned with salt and pepper then they might just be exactly what you want.

Was expecting a good classic burger and fries. Service was fairly quick which was great! But when they handed me my bag... the extraordinary smell of garlic and onion smacked me in face like Mike Tyson in the 90's. Minus the tiny slice of tomato they place on ther burger, it was good! But holy moly the fries were drowned in what I assume is garlic salt and onion powder. In my own opinion, simple salt would have made those fries 10\10. I would recommend this place but be careful with that seasoning unless you like things on the saltier side.

This is a popular burger joint, not far from where we live and after reading quite a few positive reviews I thought we should finally give it try. We went at a fairly busy time, 12.30 on a Sunday and did not have to wait to olace our order. We took a seat at an open table and our food was ready fairly fast. My wife and I each ordered a regular hamburger with bacon on it and we shared a large fries and we both had small drinks. Our total with tax was $27.00. Burger tastes fine but was nothing to write home about. The meat patty was small but it was otherwise prepared just as I asked and the bacon was good. Fries were thin cut with their special seasoning, “Jacks seasoning” which is for sale at the counter and is quite good. We didn’t order onion rings but they sure looked good. Service was okay, they were responsive but not overly friendly. I typically drink sweet tea but they don’t offer sweet tea, a staple I firmly believe any casual dining establishment in Texas should definitely have! I settled for Dr Pepper which is not a bad second choice!

This is probably my second or third time at Burger House and specifically this location and I thoroughly enjoyed my order this time around. I ordered a classic cheeseburger with grilled onions and a regular fry and it was a pretty solid meal. The flavor on the fries didn’t bother me as much as it usually does and was nice and hot!! The cheeseburger could’ve been a lot hotter in my opinion, but was pretty solid as well. It took me about 10 minutes to order and get my order through the drive-through which wasn’t terrible especially when two cars in front of me. It’s a pretty rundown and popular spot so I can’t speak for what the inside looks like. But the service was solid and I’ll definitely come back here next time I’m craving a burger.

The fear in their face. I get a few of the staff has been working here for years and now feel they call the shots on who can eat there or not. The burger was average but the fries were great. A little too seasoned though. This location closed at 10 but I got there a little after 9. They were cleaning and the smell overpowered the food and everything. Yuck. Plus I had to wait for them to finish cleaning the restroom to use it which took a while. It might have been good place to drive through or eat in before 9 but I won't know because I won't be back. The employees were very friendly and helpful though except for not seeming to care about my complaints about the restroom or the cleaning smell.

Had positive and negative things here: The worst part was the fries; not sure what they are 'famous' for because they were terrible. I had the chili cheese fries so I chalked the fries up to being soggy because of the chili and the loads of cheese on them (the chili and cheese were good, especially the amount, they do not skimp on that.) However, I tried my brothers fries, the regular ones, and they were soggy and mushy. Tasted like McDonald's fries except 2 days old. The burger was good, nothing exceptional, but good enough to try again. But the saving grace part was definitely the chocolate malt. One of the best I've ever had.

They’re okay, burgers are good, fries are nasty too much pepper and salt but the chili cheese fries are good. BUT over priced. For 5 people paid 80 dollars a burger, fries and a drink for each.

Patty pressed so thin it's hard. Lettuce tomatoes and stuff were cool. Fries were good. Portions and prices were good service was nice. Drinks were watered down. They asked if I wanted a slush, and I said yes, but they never gave it to me. So I don't know how those tastes. I would think it was one drink, but both the sodas and the fountain drinks were watery. They had unsweetened tea only. Don't know if they were out or don't serve it. Like the history on the wall. Prices were good. I just wish the meat was not as pressed.

OK don't take this the wrong way but for a place with the name Burger House I expected a bit more. Now don't get me wrong the flavor was good the patties were seasoned well even a french fries tasted great. I just expected more meat it's a thin Patty a well seasoned and good tasting Patty but still a thin Patty. Now the other side of that is a burger fries and drink was $12 and change, so for the same price you would pay at McDonald's you got a much better meal, with better service. Again I just was expecting a thicker meat Patty, but I was also assuming that lunch would be about $20 so there is that.

Did drive-through so the atmosphere was that. Since I’ve driven by so many times I just had to stop and try hoping for a Dallas gem. But was very disappointed. You see “made to order” on the sign when ordering but that DOES NOT mean the burger was freshly made. It just means you can pick your toppings. The burger was dry as if it sat around under a heat lamp for a bit. It may have been one of the worst burgers I’ve had even considering chain fast food places.

Growing up there was always the debate between this place and Keller's. Hadn't been here in a while, while it is not bad by any stretch, we all agreed it's nothing special. I like the seasoning for the fries, but the burgers are just fine, IMHO.

I suppose I come here about 1-2x a year when I’m feeling like some junky drive through burger and I don’t give my money to big chains. There’s about a 30% chance the whole meal will be worth it at any random visit. Today was not one of those days. The fries can be a great redeeming quality if you’re lucky enough to get them fresh with a nice crunch to them. Today, i was lucky by the fries! Woohoo! They are a nice generous portion I can never finish solo, with a bit too much seasoning but I think that’s the secret. Today i cheaped out, risking the single cheese burger, knowing damn well it was probably going to disappoint. By the time the cook-was done with the “patty” there wasn’t much left but a charred and grey lifeless indiscernible blob hosed down with a healthy smattering of mustard, half an onion, good ole soggy chopped iceberg, sad crumpled pickles piled off to one side and a flavorless tomato (as most commercially bought tomatoes are) The questionable grey blob that was my beef, shrank to about 1/2 to 1/3rd the size of the bun, leaving me with more salad breadsticks than burger. Not that the double would have been more impressive, just would seem to have more of a burger feel.

I wouldn’t order again. Burger was pretty bland. Personally, If I want shredded lettuce and chopped onions I would grab a burger from McDonalds. 1 tomato? Burger bread was soggy even though mustard was the only condiment. Fries were more seasoned than the burger but again they were soggy even though they came fast and were properly bagged. Nevertheless try it out for yourself.

Meat was smashed so thin, it was hard. The double burger felt more like a quarter pounder. Oinion rings were greasy. Fries were OK. Water tasted like what I would think toilet water taste like. If you want to have a totally average burger but spend far more than other places ($52 for 3 people, 3 burgers, one large fry, one regular onion ring, 3 drinks) this is definitely the place to go! The dining area was dirty and I had to ask twice for someone to bring a rag to wipe our table down. The sign says they have been open for more than 60 years, you would think they would learn how to cook a burger by now. Again it wasn't terrible, but it certainly wasn't great!

I sent my tween daughters inside the restaurant to get our food while I waited outside with our dog. We live in the neighborhood and walked to get dinner. The staff was so rude to them, it took 25 minutes for our food to come out and somehow the fries were still cold. I had to come inside the restaurant with the dog to get service and then the manager gave us coupons for a free shake because he knew he’d messed up. Real money = real customer no matter what they look like or how old they are. Disappointed.

This burger was subpar and lacked-luster. The only thing seasoned on the burger was the extremely salty pickles, not sour...salty. The meat on the burger was dry, unseaaoned, thin as a cracker and appeared to have come from a frozen premade patty. The only plus was the bun was toasted. I was not impressed.

The catfish was ok but the fries hadn't been cooked. The onion rings were more like onion chunks. I can't believe anyone thought they were ok to serve. I don't what the top half of the hamburger bun was for. I didn't say anything while I was there because they were busy & I didn't have the time to wait. It was really disappointing.

Alright ya'll. 34 dollars for 2 people to eat here is insane for the quality of your food. Patties are thin, food was cold, fries stale, and let's get into the onion rings. S.O.G.G.Y. How is it possible to make a soggy onion ring ? I had to go home and reheat everything, and the oven didn't even crisp those old onions rings up after 30 minutes. Well... got a cheeseburger that had a bun as big as a whopper with a sad piece of meat as big as a Jr burger very thin as well. Fries were way too expensive. I didn't order those. Had some of a friend's fry and glad I didn't order them too. Prices here were extremely high. You could have better food and table service for the same price at chili's or something. I would not recommend this location to anyone.

The burgers do not taste like they used to. They taste tough. The french fries are not seasoned like they used to be either and didn’t seem to be done.

I waited in the drive through line, because my 3 year old grandson wanted a milkshake. Got to the window to order and the young kid said for us to drive back around to get back in line, because he can’t make it, because there’s a line. I called and asked for a Manager and spoke to Raul and he was no help either. First time and last time here!!!

First of all when we walked in there we noticed that it was mostly teenage workers, now as a teenager myself i understand how it feels to work a job i dont want to but what happened was absolutely ridiculous, they were kind of rushing us and i didnt even have time to completely say what i wanted, i ordered a cheeseburger and got a regular burger? i didnt say anything abt it because i guess it was okay its only a small difference. Then my friend wanted a milkshake and I ordered it for her, the milkshake wasnt out after 20 minutes of waiting and i was confused becaude it was just a simple milkshake i tried to give them justice because maybe it takes long but no when we walked out to leave we had to request where our milkshake was and they made it as we were leaving, it was absolutely ridiculous the customer service was HORRIBLE they were giving us dirty looks and its like these people werent even paying attention to what they were doing?? HORRIBLE!!

Truly one of the most mediocre burgers I've ever had in my life. I usually don't accredit wait times to my reviews, but when the food is absolutely bad considering that you had to wait over 15 minutes just to get it, it certainly has to be accounted for. The burger was absolutely lackluster. I won't go as far as saying it's nasty but it certainly didn't have any flavor. The fries on the other hand were absolutely atrocious, overseas and drenched in oil. There was no crisp at all. Overall I won't be going back to this place. The prices are just too high. It's justify the mediocrity I've had better service and food at a gas station

Straight up frozen food. No taste. The chicken tenders have no seasoning and taste like they cane straight from a freezer bag to a microwave... maybe a deep fryer for a few minutes. Fries are soggy and flavorless... think freezer section at Dollar General. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

It is insane that you guys have literally tripled your prices in only a year or two. Burger house has an always been a cheap and affordable place for people in the neighborhood to eat. Now you guys are charging 40 dollars for burgers and shakes and on top of that you guys don’t even bother to put enough seasoning on the fries and burgers anymore. I have been coming since I was a baby but now I won’t be returning ever again to this location. I’ll be going to Kellers since they are consistent with their prices and quality.

Got food poising first time trying it. So did my wife, the packaging looked very mistreated wouldn't be surprised if there was cross contamination.

I’ve been a loyal customer of Lakewood Burger House for 12 years, always making an effort to support this local business. Today they lost my business forever. Over the years, I’ve encountered some issues—like hair in my food and undercooked burgers—but I provided feedback to the owner, hoping to help them continue to improve because I truly wanted to remain being a fan. Today, I took my toddler there for a meal. They were busy like normal during lunch, but I had never struggled to find a table before. However, as I waited in line today, I noticed that larger parties behind me in line kept getting tables as they opened. After ordering, I searched for a spot but had no luck. At six months pregnant, holding my two-year-old and two drinks, I went back to the counter and let the man who I ordered from know there were no open tables. The man at the register simply shrugged his shoulders at me and continued taking orders—no offer to help, nor did he ask any other employee to help me. When I finally found a table, I sat down and got emotional. I wanted to leave, but I didn’t have the courage to ask that same employee, still at the register, for a refund. I truly wish Lakewood Burger House the best. I know they’ll continue to do well since there’s little competition in the neighborhood, but today, they lost a loyal customer.
