Went in :50 before closing and our order was delicious! We got the Smoked Hickory burger with shrimp grits and a shrimp po boy and fried okra! Everything was delicious, even the sliced pickle on the po boy. Conner was our server and he was outstanding! Highly recommend
We have not eaten here in years. We were greeted immediately as we walked in the door. Once seated our server showed up immediately to get our drinks orders. She then came back and took our order. The food was ready quickly and was fresh, hot and tasted great! She continued to check on us, but not too often as to be a bother. We will definitely be back.

A proper old school Restaurant with well maintained and updated decor. The chicken fried steak was the best I have eaten. Being from Texas that is a pretty high standard. The atmosphere portions and service were all excellent. I would recommend Tuesday as the lunch special is the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes Lima beans and fried okra. The only thing that could have been better were my wife’s French fries. A little soft for her liking. Perhaps do the first fry early then drop them in the deep fryer just prior to serving. It was overall excellent
Our recent visit to Chesterfields was an exceptional experience. The food was outstanding and served promptly. The staff demonstrated genuine attentiveness, frequently checking in to ensure our satisfaction. The owner personally visited our table, displaying a high level of professionalism and courtesy, going above and beyond to accommodate our needs. I highly recommend Chesterfields for an enjoyable night out, holiday celebrations, family gatherings, or simply a quality meal.
Fantastic experience! I’m in town from Atlanta for USM graduation and went out of my way to experience only local restaurants. We were a party of five, and all had some combination of seafood offerings. Everyone’s food was hot, fresh, and perfectly cooked. Some of the best catfish, hush puppies, and cole slaw we’ve ever had. This was absolutely the perfect experience we were seeking to celebrate graduation. 10/10 recommend!
I always see post saying if I could give no stars i would. If I could give 10 stars I would. Thanksgiving November 27 2025 myself mother father and my two children stopped here for our lunch. Upon entering the establishment we where unfortunately informed that the restaurant was closed. However the owner (man in blue) told us that he had mountains of food he prepared for his employees family and other guest and invited us to dine with them. The food was free. The food was good the employees all inviting and friendly despite us crashing there party. I noticed while I ate that the owner while mingling Amist his people and bring out and seemingly endless supply of food still made time to invite everyone who walked through that door to dine at his table. The 10 stars is for the hospitality and friendliness i haven't seen on such a large local scale. We stopped for lunch. I left with the most memorable Thanksgiving meal iv ever had in my 35 years on this earth. Thank you for sharing that with us and showing us what fellowship is really about.
I don’t get to come to Hattiesburg very often.. hands down all of the food and service was on point.. started off with some buffalo tenders.. Fried Pecan pie.. Cajun chicken Alfredo and a baked potato with sweet tea.. I will most definitely be back.. posted a couple of pictures.. did not get the picture of the buffalo tenders.. I highly recommend them.. Nick was our server and he did not disappoint..
Had brunch here and it was good. Had the chicken and waffles with hash browns and a side of shrimp and grits. It was awesome. My wife had the meat lovers omelet it was a lot and good also. The pineapple mimosa was ok at best. But I will come back.
1st time at Chesterfield's in Hattiesburg for lunch. Restaurant was busy during our visit. Parking is limited in their lot but plenty of parking behind the restaurant in the shopping center lot. We had the Blackened Chicken Alfredo and the Shrimp Pasta. Both dishes were excellant. Lots of Alfredo sauce for ur pasta. We also had the White Chocolate Bread Pudding and the Cheesecake with Strawberry. The bread pudding was enough for 2 people!!! Our server, Darby, was very attententive and was willing to make recommendations on some of the dishes. We left there stuffed and happy we stopped. We'll definitely be going back. Good job Chesterfield's!!!
My first time visiting Hattiesburg, MS. When we first stepped into the restaurant the atmosphere was so welcoming. We arrived around 2 pm and was seated immediately. The waitress Ariona was the BEST she knew her stuff and was so friendly and bubbly. More restaurants need employees like Ariona. Ariona suggested the Boudin egg rolls (oooh so, so good!!), We also tried the seafood stuffed ribeye and the seafood stuffed pork chops. Everything was delicious!!! I have nothing negative to say about Chesterfields can't wait to visit again.
Update: 2nd Review for 10/15 scroll down My husband and l ate there on Saturday for the first time. We had the best server that we have ever had since moving here in 2008. She's a lovely young woman named Hannah. She's knowledgeable and attentive. I had the shrimp tacos and my husband had the Salmon special of the day. They were both excellent. We also shared a dessert that was Insane! Fried Pecan Pie on a bed of chocolate and caramel sauce with ice cream and whipped cream. We highly recommend Chesterfields and Hannah. You will love it. Update: Ate there 10/15 Saturday. It was really good today also. We had Lane as our server. He was fabulous also. Today we had the Chicken 49r and Fried Pork Chop plate. They were really good. Anytime you can cut a chicken breast with a fork it's been cooked the right way. The Turtle Cheesecake was really good. The food the service and the atmosphere are consistently great and that's hard to find. Try Chesterfields and ask for Hannah or Lane you'll be pleased with both!

This was a Monday lunch visit. We were quickly seated, we ordered a Margarita and a draft beer to start. They came back and said the draft beer was out or broke, so husband got a bottle beer. My margarita was good but nothing special, I’ve had better and I’ve had a lot worse. We ordered fish and shrimp plater and husband had a honey mustard chicken sandwich, everything was great. Very hot food! Waitress was good but would advise not to stand behind someone so they have turn to ask you a question. We were in a booth and I asked her a question and she leaned on back side of booth by my head, talking to me so I basically hand to Crain my neck back and up. She was sweet and very attentive, just a recommendation. Lastly was a bad smell, I’ve been in restaurants before that had the same smell and I think it’s those big black rugs. Very good service and the catfish plate was very good. Large servings-5 pieces- with slaw and Lima beans made for a very nice meal. Plenty big enough to share so I took home leftovers.
Since my previous review a LOT has changed at Chesterfield's! This was my second visit to their new location so it had been decades since my last visit and this second visit was many years after I last ate here in 2019. I have to say I still prefer their old location better which is largely more for nostalgia's sake. The service was less than I had come to expect from the old location so that could certainly use some improvement and it seemed to have gotten even worse for my second visit to the new spot. The food has declined from my past first visit to this new location sadly. The open faced prime rib sandwich served with a side of au jus was my go to staple here for many years but they no longer have that on the menu sadly. The only other entrée I ever ordered here was one of the Gulf fish specials which they still had some of those at least but not as good a choice as they used to have. For my second visit the menu was so uninspiring to me I just got a cheeseburger and it was fortunately a decently good cheeseburger. For Hattiesburg this is probably still one of the better places to eat. They have continued doing a nice tray of their dessert selections setting out on display to really try and tempt your soul with lust for their sweet treats. I really think they need to up their game again and go back to what they used to be! Overall if you're in the area this is probably a good choice for the food or their bar which will be better than any of the many nearby chains like Applebee's but not quite as good as Crescent City Grill.
The gumbo was salty and was like a brown gravy with shrimp and sausage. The boudin stuffed catfish was good. Her burger was good. Dessert was the best part if the meal 😋.
So overall the food here is good. Its probably on par with being a little better than Longhorns or Outback which is why it has 3 stars as I consider those places an average standard. Sometimes they get a little happy with the salt; so, if youre that person who grabs the shaker before tasting your food - beware. The portions are usually larger, so you do get what you pay for.

Two stars because of the manager on duty. I went inside and had the best dining experience. I spent a hefty amount, but that’s not the problem. The problem is I didn’t receive some food on my seafood platter that I had place for an to go order. The manager asked me did I not check my order before leaving. For one I’m not employed at chesterfields, secondly that’s what the cook is for, to ensure the order is correct. I could’ve done without her smart mouth, all I wanted was for her to make sure I get my item next time I return. All help isn’t good help, and not everyone should be a manager. Now the sweet waitress I had made everything worth it.

I ordered the blackened chicken alfredo with broccoli. When I got there, I waited 10 minutes to even get my food. Upon receiving it, the noodles were overcooked and it looked as if my meal had just been heated up. The sauce wasn’t creamy, it was clumpy, and the broccoli literally had no flavor. I will never order from them again, considering I paid $25 dollars from some pasta a 2 year old could’ve made. Don’t waste your time here.
Never left a review, but this one deserves it. My husband and I went to Chesterfield’s to have dinner and watch the game, and they wouldn’t let us sit in the bar area (not at the bar… just a table) because we had our infant with us. Yep, our baby who can’t even sit up on his own. We weren’t trying to drink or cause a scene, just wanted dinner and a decent view of the game because it’s the only area that plays it. The hostess acted like we were trying to sneak him into a club. It honestly blew my mind. I thought she was joking at first. When we asked to speak with the manager, Josh, he was not accommodating at all and honestly just came across rude. No attempt to explain or offer any kind of solution, just attitude. So yeah, won’t be back. There are plenty of other restaurants in Hattiesburg that actually welcome families and use a little common sense.
