Dickey's Dallas Reviews
Unmatched in BBQ History. This is a must see for all BBQ fans. Got to meet the founders grandson today. The food was off the chain. Lauren the GM is 🔥. What a great treasure we have. Forgot to take pictures.
We ordered the loaded baked potato with brisket special. It was two for the price of one. They were great. Extra large pototo, tender brisket, loaded with extras. Lauren and JR gave us terrific service.
Dickey’s Barbecue was amazing! The food was delicious and full of flavor. The loaded baked potato was HUGE! , but the service really made the experience stand out!. Manager Lauren was awesome—friendly, welcoming, and made sure everything was perfect. Mr. Patrick was just as great: fast, helpful, and super kind. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to. Highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Pit Master, Lauren, was super friendly accommodating. My friend and I were on a bike ride and needed a safe place to park and charge while having a meal and she took care of us. We had a great meal and chatted with staff. This original Dickey's is a Dallas monument.
Highly recommend dickies for barbecue in Dallas Lauren the pitmaster is amazing. The people are super friendly and it’s always great to see the very first location of a business. This one off Knox and 75 great people good food highly recommend.
Today we had a large catering order for 180 people, and they wowed us. Not only did they show up on time prepared, they were early. Fresh food, beautiful presentation, and cheerful attitudes. Thank you so much.
Lauren assisted me today, she is a great asset to your team. She gave me a sample of the pork (the special of the day) and it didn't have that good of an after taste, so I decided on a brisket sandwich combo, which I really enjoyed. My visit was during a very slow business hour, 4pm on a Monday, so no wait at all, and it was super quiet.
My usual order here is the chicken breast sandwich, and let me tell you, it slaps! If you’re like me, you’ll appreciate that the Dr. Pepper is really good here. Nice patio, plus a bar and TVs inside the restaurant. It's conveniently located off 75. Lauren and Dana are so sweet and will take care of you. Definitely will be back.
So, I expected great food… which I got! What I did not expect was such a charming environment! Seriously, this little establishment has done an AMAZING job of creating a comfy, cozy, quaint little respite on the corner of a very busy ugly street! I am more than impressed! There is a beautiful little garden room, a cozy little fire pit area, great music, TV’s if ya’ wanna catch the game, as well as a bar! I almost forgot to mention the incredible staff! I was welcomed in a unique engaging way immediately upon arrival, they were efficient, engaging, fun!!!! Dickey’s, you’ve really done a terrific job with this location! I will be back!
Placed an order for pick up I arrived at the restaurant 5 minutes later than scheduled time to make sure order was ready when I arrived only to find out they hadn’t even started it because they are out of potatoes and they won’t be ready for 45 minutes. Like why didn’t someone call me and tell me that my number is on there for a reason. Instead I got my food made on a potato casserole.
Ordered through Uber eats .. 3 plate special. The customer service was good however the portion and quality of food was a no no. Fries were overly fried and mostly bottom of the barrel crumbs..brisket was also iffy with a Lot of fat and burnt edges.. Def not worth the price for quality and portions of food.
This Dickies is different from the other ones. It is very old and outdated. The Loaded Baked Potatoes were overdone. They had hardly any "load" in them. I promise not to go back. I tried to give them a second chance. However I told a lady about the dilemma. I was given a few free sandwich cards. I appreciate it. It's just sub par. For what I spent. Not worth it...
This is the secon time Ive been in the original location and the food has been less than marginal. I ordered the chicken sandwhich adn the chicken was well over done and the sandwhich bun was stale. Also you all do not have smoked turkey at this location. The ice cream machine has not been in operation for months. I do like Dickeys overall but will not visit this location again. No sure what happened and why the food and service is simply marginal
My girlfriend and I went in for lunch today a little before noon. Not very crowded. Was looking forward to some ribs and brisket as it was pretty good last time I came in. Very disappointed this time to the point I will not be going back. Girlfriend ordered brisket sandwich and fries first. looked pretty good. I ordered the two meat combo with brisket and ribs. Was told they didn't have any ribs, which I thought was pretty strange as it wasn't even noon yet and only one other group eating. The guy behind the counter said he didn't even know if they would have some the next day. They should have put up a sign saying they were out of ribs. Instead I ended up just getting some lukewarm brisket (and not much of it as it turns out), fries and coleslaw. we sat down to eat and there were no paper towels, salt or pepper, or sauce at ANY of the tables. Instead they had nice, expensive paper napkins by the drink machine. Paper towels would have been cheaper and easier to use. Had to go back to get a very small cup of BBQ sauce since there was none readily available. When I asked about salt and pepper, I was told it was on the table, which it wasn't. Manager went to look for himself, saw there was no salt and pepper anywhere and that started a scramble to find some in the back. Finally got pepper but they only had seasoned french fry salt. The whole place seemed unprepared to serve food. Very disappointing meal and this was at the original Dickie's Barbecue restaurant.
$25 down the drain!! I’m not sure if we just went a bad day or what but the food was very very mediocre! The only thing good were the fries, also the only item that was fresh to be honest. The food and service were so terrible they gave me a coupon for a free item on my next visit which i threw away because I'll never come back to this location or any other one for that matter.
The service from AJ was great. The food was horrible. I will never eat at this location again. I ate here a few years back and it was horrible. Thought I would give it another try since it had been a few years. I was wrong.Went on my lunch break. Got a chopped barbecue sandwich lean and a baked potato plain. It was all cold. BP was hard and cold the bun on sandwich was hard and cold meat was cold and hard like it had been over cooked. It all tasted like it had been sitting out allday. The potatoe was half the size they usually are but they still charge the same price. I really love Dickeys and this one is down the road from my work so its very convenient for me. I was hoping for a good experience this time so I could start eating at Dickeys more often. Worst 25 dollars I've spent on food. The only thing that was positive was the service from AJ and the coke from fountain machine
I’ve been coming to this dickies for years but this last visit at 8:30pm November 3rd 2025 was not the usual service. I picked up 2 3meat plates and asked if I can get an additional sauce for each plate as the small 2oz cup is usually insufficient if you like sauce especially for 3 different meats. RJ paused and proceeded to grab the POS and say let me see how much it’ll be. After further interaction I found out he was the manager. I’ve never been charged for an extra bbq for a 22$ plate. It was a reasonable ask nothing like one of each sauce etc. if you dine in you get unlimited. This store could use some training on hospitality. I also did not get Texas toast I got a soggy brioche bun with the pickles and onions in the same box which makes everything colder faster. The 2 oz sauce ramekins would be better for to gos. I’m not sure how that guy is the manager because his problem solving was terrible, he was rude, and his face didn’t hide anything. I guess they promote anyone that shows up now a days.
I hate to leave a bad review, but I was craving Dickey’s tonight… I ordered us two chopped brisket sandwich combos with potato casserole. About $32 before tip… so $40. Tell me why I get home and these little shot glass size container of potato casserole? I called & the dude said that’s the only container they had. They know dang well they should have put 2 or 3 in my bag. Absolutely ridiculous.
