Far-Out Dallas Reviews
My husband and I visited Far Out yesterday to celebrate our anniversary, and the experience was wonderful from start to finish. The restaurant is beautiful, with clean, thoughtfully designed interiors and a spacious outdoor patio. The service was exceptional. Alex at the bar was very knowledgeable about the drinks, and offered us some good recommendations. We were then seated and taken care of by Daniel, who was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and suggested his personal favorites; the white bean dip, duck salad, pork shank cappelletti, and crispy chicken—all of which were beautifully plated, cooked to perfection, and absolutely delicious. The dishes highlighted simple, local ingredients that were expertly executed. I'd also like to mention Alison who suggested we get the olive oil cake which was a good way to end the meal. She also took the time to share some background about the restaurant, which made the experience feel even more personal. Overall, it was a fantastic night and a truly memorable dining experience. We will definitely be back and highly recommend Far Out to anyone looking for great food, service, and atmosphere.
We enjoyed a truly delightful evening at Far Out in Dallas. Each course was wonderful, starting with the roasted garlic white bean dip with chili oil, followed by the lemongrass duck confit salad and the crispy chili and pecan rubbed heritage chicken. The flavors were perfectly balanced and so thoughtfully done. For dessert, the olive oil cake was light, subtle, and just right. The space has a beautiful, artful feel, and the owner is such a warm and gracious host who makes you feel right at home. We cannot wait to return.
Dinner date tonight at Far Out in Dallas, Texas. I have had this place on a list to visit for several months waiting for the perfect day. Today was the right day, having a cool evening temperature coupled with being in the area at the right time for dinner. We opted for four dishes and a couple of drinks, all were great and not overly filling so each could be enjoyed. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu that changes regularly. The location is not a hotspot for great food and drinks but the food is what you would expect from Uptown, West Village, Bishop Arts or Knox-Henderson areas. #dallas #dallasrestaurants #faroutdallas
Loved our dinner for 4 at Far Out. We ordered 8 dishes total (6 apps/proteins, 2 desserts) and shared all of them. The white bean dip, sweet potato dish, pork cappelletti and olive oil cake were top favorites but we still enjoyed the other dishes as well! Atmosphere is very calming and noise levels were great.
We finally got the chance to check out Far-Out Dallas, where Misti Norris and several of her team members from Petra and the Beast are currently at. We have been huge fans of Misti's food since dining at the orignal Petra location. The food was delicious! No, it's not cheap. But we really enjoyed everything we tried last night. We're in East Dallas near the Arboretum, and it was a quick 8 - 10 minute drive from our house, which is awesome! Far-Out will definitely be one of our regular go to restaurants!
First time in Dallas and Far-Out was our very first stop and it did NOT miss. The vibe is chill, fun, and perfect for friends and family to hang out. We tried a few small plates and my top picks were: • Cured fish with crunchy cumin unreal flavor • Lemongrass duck confit salad with crispy pork big, fresh, and so tasty • Smothered Texas chuck flap rich, balanced, and a must-try < I love side salad that served with steak I’m seriously so impressed and the cute little garden next to Hermanita House just adds to the magic. Dallas people… go check this place out. 💯
A great atmosphere with elevated menu items that can be easily shared or eaten as an entree. The aircraft hangar curve of the ceiling reflects light so well and helped dampen the sound. There is a large bar in the middle.
Amazing new spot in South Dallas with great beer, drinks, and food. Ambience is terrific and the service was top notch. We tried three items off the menu and it was plenty for the two of us, with the chicken and pork shank being highlights. The frozen drinks were amazing too. Will be back many times, especially for thd Sunday happy hour! 2/14/26 update - still amazing!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫☄️ The small plates are excellent with great presentation, and the cocktails are creative and delicious. I had the duck confit salad, dumplings, and fig cheesecake — each one was fantastic. The menu changes frequently, which makes me look forward to coming back and trying something new. 11/10 experience!
Love this place. I went last night, and hung out at the bar. I had the tagliatelle - Which was damn good. I had blantons 🥃, which is hard to find sometimes. The staff at the bar were great, and accommodating. I also enjoyed the atmosphere inside, and out. I am big fan of 🌵, and it’s such a great place for a drink 🥃 and to just hang out. I will definitely be returning.
Far out is an upscale casual dining experience with rotating menus, "just right" portions that are presented in a passionate manner. The theme and atmosphere is unlike any other I've experienced in Dallas. The outside has a desert, rustic and modern vibe to it with the inside transitioning into a more intimate setting by utilizing dim lighting, comfortable seating and a rounded construction that molds the decor and style all together. The service was great and our seating preferences were catered to. We were checked on several times to see if we needed anything. Ashley took great care of us. You can see the chefs in the kitchen working smoothly to get every order out in a timely and careful manner. The kitchen has last call around 8:30-8:45pm and the closes while the bar remains open, currently, until 12pm or until zoning laws change. I was told its a very lively vibe during the weekends where they also close at 12pm. The food was very eloquently presented and crafted to be delicious and extraordinary, which is definitely was. We highly recommend the chips and hummus. The chips were crunchy and toasty and very well seasoned. The chili hummus paired nicely. The chuck slab I had was very tender and paired well with the ingredients they chose which, going based off memory, was a delicious cheese that reminded me of blue cheese, mint, parsley, red onions a special sauce and a fried potato mash that was fried on the outside and was shaped like a stick of butter. The fried egg plant was delicious too and was very appealing to my girlfriend who is used to typical vegetarian/vegan dishes such as some carb with cheese, pasta or a salad. This dish was very creative and satisfied her appetite. Overall, the flavors blended together very well, staff were very welcoming, they offer non alcoholic craft beverages and the outside lounge area is great, cacti filled area, for an after dinner chill spot for photos or relaxing. It makes you anticipate what they may have next on the menu. Come check it out, it's a little spot that you wouldn't know offered as much as it does.
Update: Back for the third time and I love how their menu is always different! Still as amazing as the first time I came. Truly one of the best restaurants in Dallas right now. Atmosphere feels like Santa Fe/Austin vibes. The food is high quality and affordable, you can definitely see Misti’s style come through. The menu rotates but the tostado was my favorite! Excellent service and good people. This is the kind of place I just want to chill at on summer nights!
Tried the ribs and pasta- both were so good and flavorful. Decent portions too. Great service and Free parking lot. The ambiance was relaxing during dinner time and then theres a live DJ later at night. Outdoor seating area is also super cute and inviting. Would definitely come back here!
Hole In The Wall, Sleeper venue. This place will be a giant when people find out about it. My youngest played live here tonight and this is how we found it. The motif is like a cactus palace which carries through the visuals as well as the menu. The small but cozy/homey restaurant and bar are in what appears to be an old hanger and is inside. Outside is a huge music venue space and cactus garden. When we arrived we sat at the bar and was greeted by Adam who was able to make some excellent appetizer suggestions of White Bean Dip and Smoked Empanadas to get us started were perfect. The Watermelon Margaritas and The Ranch Martini were fantastic. We retired outside to watch a live music performance by Kade Miller @kadeometer was exceptional. We ordered the Profound Farms Tomato salad, Tagliatelle, and the cured Hirimasa Tostada. Everything was amazing! Sharing with all our friends and family. This place is so cute for date night. I had a girl’s night and it was so special.
Easily becoming one of my favorite spots for food and drink in Dallas. Adam and Alex are exceptional behind the bar. The drinks are great and well thought out. Chef Misti’s food menu is superb. Definitely recommend the Tagliatelle, the Texas Tri-Tip and The Texas strawberry cobbler, in that order. Looking forward to my next visit.

I visited Far Out today and absolutely loved it. The dishes are unlike anything you usually find—they’re beautifully presented and bursting with incredible flavors. Prices are very reasonable, the service is outstanding, and the place itself is magical, with different areas and unique atmospheres. Mr. Jeffers, the owner, is a great man—he’s the first to put on an apron and be present in every space, making sure everything runs perfectly. That’s what real leadership looks like. We even had a brief conversation, and he’s truly a great guy. I’ll definitely be back soon, and I highly recommend everyone to visit this amazing spot.

Absolutely spectacular! Lowkey environment that also felt exclusive and intimate. Sever was highly knowledgeable about the menu and gave specific food recs based on our drink orders. Imaginary, local, and in-season menu made for a unique experience that I’ll always crave. Highly recommend for a special night as we were treated just as special as the occasion itself.
From the food to the vibes to the music and atmosphere this place hits on all cylinders. The quality of the food is at an amazing price point. There’s complex complexity. There’s brightness there’s unexpectedness in every dish. I cannot say enough. The wine and cocktail pairings are also a delight along with the dessert. We tried it ALL-zero regrets 20 / 10. Calvin gave us a wonderful experience, giving us the information and context we needed to understand the menu, the restaurant and the vibe at the same time allowing us to enjoy our experience. Chef’s kiss 💋
Wonderful. Food was excellent. Duck confit salad, mushroom risotto ball and crudo were all fantastic. Introduced to a new Chardonnay that was lovely. Cocktails on point. Just go, it's awesome.

On my last trip to Dallas, my friend made reservations at this amazing restaurant. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted and seated at a cozy booth — five stars for that alone. Our server came by right away and offered to answer any questions about the menu. We ordered some delicious cocktails, and they were spot-on. The food arrived promptly. The dishes are on the smaller side (tapas-style), so we ordered three plates and one dessert to share between the two of us. We tried items No. 1, 6, 9, and 11 — all beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Kudos to the chef and to the bar manager, Dru, for making the most amazing margaritas I’ve had in the past year. If you’re in the area, this place is a must-try
Check this place out! We did and “Oh wow” were my first words walking from the parking lot into the Far Out backyard. It feels like a West Texas escape — creative, comfortable, and made for a cocktail. It was a cool night, so we headed inside. Warm lighting, high ceilings, and easy style. I had a nonalcoholic gin mocktail that was delicious. Dinner favorites were the cured fish crudo with habanero, cilantro oil, and dukah, and the corn fritters with tomatillo jam. Both packed serious flavor. Dessert was the best surprise: pear meringue with fennel crème and an olive oil cake with layers of apple — fermented, pickled, and caramelized. Unreal. Inventive menu, beautiful space, and kind staff. Far Out is the real deal. Great job, Allison and team!
This place is great! Brought my wife here for a date and did not leave disappointed. The atmosphere, food/drinks, service is top notch! Nice touch of fine dining with a laid back atmosphere. Servers described the food nicely, the drinks were well made and overall I left impressed. I’m definitely coming back! If you’re expecting a bunch of mediocre food along with drinks this is NOT the place for you.
Despite being a James Beard semifinalist, the restaurant fell short on flavor balance—the acidity often overpowered sweetness. The limited menu (just three main dishes, including a sweet potato) felt restrictive, though the sweet potato paired nicely with the steak. The white bean dip was excellent, with a smooth hummus-like texture and premium crackers. The atmosphere was pleasant, but the warehouse-style space with cement floors lacked comfort, especially in winter. Charging $4 for a few tortilla chips for a gluten-free guest felt excessive and left a cheap impression.
