I love the daily specials at State & Allen. Their pizzas are so delicious and serves have always been friendly when I ate there. Pizzas are offered as a gluten free option as well. Pictures show the Meaty Meat and Sausage and Arugula pizza. Bring your own mug for Sunday brunch and get free coffee! State & Allen is the only Green-certified restaurant in town. One thing they can improve is getting rid of the plastic straws!

I love coming here on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays for the ultimate bar service! Nick the bartender is absolutely fantastic! So fun and attentive! This has become my regular bar In Dallas because of the phenomenal bar service I receive every time! The food is fantastic as well very delicious 🤤 highly recommend trying it out!

I come here for brunch pretty often and always have a great time. My favorite dish is definitely the eggwich! Between the $3 mimosas and the great food, it's hard to find such a consistent brunch spot in Dallas.

Usually here for morning donut and coffee run but experienced Sunday brunch and truly enjoyed it! Great mimosa price and everyone enjoyed their food selection - two of us wanted to order seconds but we stayed strong 🤞🏾!

Some friends and I went to State and Allen today for some Sunday brunch, and the atmosphere was phenomenal. This place definitely feels like a local place, where everyone knows each other. I had the some spicy bloody marys and then I ordered the Triple Dip and the Pesina Chicken Tortilla Soup. All of them were so delicious, and the presentation was great too. The service today was fantastic, and our bartender Nino took care us with the utmost attention and quality drinks! He definitely made us feel at home with his charisma and warm welcome. If you get the chance, I highly recommend stopping.

Had a great experience here! The food was amazing, the staff was courteous and attentive, and the atmosphere was bright and fun. We were particularly impressed by the draft beer selection and bar. The barstaff were knowledgeable and service was expedient. We will definitely return here.

Our Waitor Chris from Long Island CA recommended Venison Meatloaf and the Filet Mignon along with the Brownie all deliciously amazing!!! Will definitely be back!

First time and decided on brunch. Food was great and service was too! I don't know why they are getting poor reviews. Our food was cooked very well. Pictures of Pork Belly Omelet, Breakfast pizza and elote corn. Corn was better than expected. Drinks ok... bloody better than espresso martini.

We finally stopped here for an early Sunday brunch after living nearby for months. The S&A omelette and S&A Benedict were both top notch on flavor and portion, and came out quickly. Server was attentive and came by at least half a dozen times during our meal.

Brunch was good. I started eating before taking a pic it look so good. Atmosphere is great. Nice to have a conversation were background music isn’t over powering. Attentive and accommodating staff.

I have been twice in the last week. Each time was very enjoyable. Great service from the waitstaff and management. The food was really good. I had the Cuban with a Cesear salad then next visit I had the Bri Grilled Cheese again with Cesear salad. I recommend both.

This place was so amazing, we went in two days in a row while visiting Dallas. The atmosphere is great, a little bougie, a little rustic/saloon like. I surprised my husband, I figured from the website that this would be his kind of place, I was so right. Our waiters both times were great, the food was hot and fast, the bottles of mimosa were a necessity! If you're looking for a great brunch, this is your place!

Such friendly service and incredible food! Looks like a regular bar at first but their cooking is seriously gourmet! Great patio as well!

Seriously so glad i picked this place to have brunch. Had the steak and eggs with chimchurri. It was beautiful to look at and tasted oh so yummy. The side of purple potatoes with bacon bits and peppers was oh so yummy. And that lemonade. Mmm mm 😋 Definitely want to eat at it again next time I'm in town.

We had the ahi tuna salad. It was excellent and so was our waiter :) Great place to hang on the outside patio for lunch, brunch or just a drink with friends. Great neighborhood place with a great vibe!

Its Happy Hour every Monday AND if it rains!! The food is inviting and comforting. Friendly ambiance. Check it out!

Ive been 3 times now and each experience was great. Sat at the bar each time. Nick was the bartender and he's great! My friends and I had brunch last Sunday and it was absolutely delicious! Ive also been in the evening for a delicious charcuterie board and wine. It was wonderful. The vibe is young, energetic, and fresh. I really enjoy this place.

State and Allen is one of our all time favorites. The manager is always kind and friendly as well as the rest of the staff. They have one of the best happy hour prices in Dallas and their food is fantastic! I am obsessed with their Caesar salad. Not sure what they do to make it so addictive but it’s my favorite. All of their food is great. They even have different daily specials and Friday’s are $5 well drinks all day.

Excellent local restaurant in a very hip area. Street parking is limited but a parking structure literally right next door made our visit most convenient. The place is Brunch oriented and has an excellent menu for each the weekend and during week. Had the Fried Chicken salad it was delicious. Mamosas were cold and flowing. Great vibe, cool laid back service, in an elite Uptown area. Nice spot to meet up or hangout.

Great local American kitchen and bar. Specials selection is vast through the week, and the half-price pizza Monday lunch special is great value. Favorites are the margarita pizza and avocado bacon burger. Sit outside and enjoy the sunlight. Friendly service every time!

My first time going to this establishment. Immediately I realized the service was great, as we were greeted by Glenn (sorry I can't remember his position). Our waitress was attentive and great personality (can't remember her name but long hair and glasses, so sorry). Then came the pizza..... delicious. It turned out to be a great establishment that I will continue to visit. Great job.

At the recommendation of some friends, I decided to try the restaurant on Easter Sunday. Really nice and we were waited on before our scheduled reservation. Sat on the patio which was very pleasant. Tori was our server and was very attentive. Glenn, the assistant manager was coming around from table to table to check in on our experience and the food. Must go back! Food was excellent!

My husband and I went to State & Allen last night and it was AMAZING! This is the cutest spot and right in the State Thomas area. Food and service were excellent. Definitely recommend sitting on the patio!!

Great place to brunch and hang out with friends. Brunch menu covers all tastes. They have a new blood orange margarita that is so good. Glenn, one of the managers, was helpful with picking some food and navigating downtown area. Our waitress Rae was fabulous. We are all going to meet again soon for another great brunch.

Really cute place. Dog friendly patio. We went for brunch. The mimosas have four juice options: orange, grapefruit, pineapple, and cranberry. That was fun and refreshing. I will always choose chicken and waffles if it's on the menu, and it was so flavorful.

This place was awesome. When our server Ray came to our table, I knew she was going to be great. She told us of the specials they had. We told her we were waiting on one more person, so she went said she would be right back to check up on us. She came back when the rest of the party arrived., took our drink orders and said she would give us a bit and that Brunch would be over in 30 mins. When our food arrived, it all looked so good. And the taste. The portions were very large. We each had something different and everyone loved their meals. I truly have no complaints. I plan to visit there again and I pray we have the Ray as our server. The whole area surrounding the restaurant was nice, the atmosphere in the restaurant was nice. There was outside seating with misters and fans for those who were dining outside. Excellent place.

I absolutely adore State & Allen. I order GLUTEN FREE fried chicken (almost) everyday, and it is made to perfection. Straight GAAAAAAS, seriously don’t go here unless you wanna have an absolute blast. I messed up and got the blue cheese pizza (I know). I like blue cheese with my wings, sue me. Me and my boo asked if we could swap with some else and they were so nice about it. The pizza is why we come here!!! It’s always good. Blue cheese pizza is def too strong for me tho 😂. P.S. The house red did me right 💯 .

Jordan is the best! We come every Monday and he’s almost always our server. He has our orders memorized and is always extremely helpful! Tyler at the bar is also super friendly and always makes it a point to say hi. We love State and Allen!

Sandwich was fresh and fries were crisp and flavorful ! Excellent management - manager is up front and interacting with staff and customers. Hand cleanser is on each table which is an added indication of health awareness. Very enjoyable time!!

Today, I had brunch with my family here, but there was a slight difference in the taste. Our server, Chris, advised the GM, Nicholas, about it and the item was comped! We never expected this because it was only mentioned in a casual response, and not a complaint. Apparently, the recipe had recently changed, and the staff took it into consideration out of respect for us as returning customers. THANK YOU Chris and Nicholas for such a memorable experience! Our waitress Ariel was amazing and so was the food! We are visiting from tampa Florida and would absolutely recommend Ariel and State and Allen to any of visiting Texas.

My wife and I stopped by this amazing establishment tucked away in a quiet, quaint part of uptown Dallas. The layout of the building was superb with roller doors that opened up more than half of its interior to the great outdoors and just as much patio seating as interior seating. There were quite a few patrons enjoying themselves even though it was early Wednesday afternoon which was a pleasant surprise. We were only in the mood for cocktails and a light snack, so my wife ordered the Mediterranean salad which came with a side of hummus and pita bread. It was enough to share and it was delicious! I ordered a margarita with mezcal and my wife tried a couple of the signature cocktails. Needless to say they were delicious also. We will definitely put this place on our spots to frequent!

Last weekend's brunch at State & Allen in Uptown was nothing short of spectacular. The atmosphere was bright, inviting and buzzing with a warm, happy energy. The steak & eggs was outstanding. What truly elevated the experience was the incredible hospitality. Looking forward to returning soon.

I absolutely love this place! I come here all the time, and it never disappoints. The food is always fresh and delicious, and I really appreciate the great vegetarian options on the menu. I recently had my birthday party here, and it was perfect — the atmosphere was so fun and welcoming. A special shout-out to Rae, our server, who was incredibly attentive and made sure everything went smoothly. Food is very good. Prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is what you would expect from a neighborhood bar. Been frequenting here on and off for a year or so and can say the service is very good and consistent…friendly and attentive. Eric, one of the bartenders, is probably one of the more attentive and hardworking bartenders I’ve met. He gives his time to connect but lingers only long enough to make that connection because he knows he has a job to do. Jordan is also exceptional. We have grabbed a seat in his section many times and been more than happy with his service and attention. Never have to wait. Like Eric, he’s on it. Highly recommend!

I recently found myself in a bit of a bind when planning my birthday outing, waiting until the last minute to make arrangements. I reached out to State and Allen, hoping they could assist me. To my delight, Nick, the manager, responded promptly with several options and confirmed their availability. This restaurant has always been my top choice for brunch, known for its delicious food, excellent service, and reasonable prices—plus, they serve some of the best Bloody Marys around! Nick walked me through the details clearly and assured me that they could accommodate my request, even on such short notice. On the day of the event, we had our own server, Jordan, who was fantastic! He was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. Although my party ended up being smaller than I had anticipated, everyone was extremely pleased with the service we received. I wholeheartedly recommend State and Allen! I typically don’t write reviews, but they truly deserve this one!

Today was my 1st time here & my experience was amazing! I came with a party of about 15 & Ariel was our server-she was kind, professional & attentive. I was even more impressed when I learned they were understaffed today BUT still manage to provide awesome service. Chef Damion cooked the food to perfection...*chefs kiss* Moreover, the GM...Nick was very pleasant. I'd share with him what a wonderful time my party & I had and how much we enjoyed the outstanding dining experience. All in all, this restaurant was a 10/10! I will be coming back soon and every chance I get I will be recommending you all to others. Thanks State & Allen!!!

Went for brunch, it was a nice menu, and moderately priced. Great service, and nice location.

(Rounded up from 3.5 stars.) The food was good (not quite great), but service was a bit sluggish. It took forever to get the food and the server wasn't super invested. I'd go back and hope for a better server. The eggs were SO good.

Food was delicious! But my experience was a bit weird. I was greeted with we have our brunch menu because if Memorial day. Then when I sat down I was told it was a limited brunch menu and the thing I wanted was not included. Ok, fair. Then I was informed all pizzas are half off because its Monday. Awesome I thought! Then I decided to have the breakfast pizza because that looked fantastic. Then the server informed me that actually that pizza is not 50% but all other are. By now I was tired of the hustle so I ordered that pizza anyway. It was delicious and I 100% recommend you yo get it. But the info an menus where not clear. No where on the menu did it say that the breakfast pizza was not included in the half off promotion.

My Bestie & I have been trying different Brunch Spots & after seeing State & Allen on TikTok we decided to try it. We made a reservation & were seated immediately. Ordered a Tequila Sunrise, Mimosas, Chicken & Waffles & the S&A Omelet. The Mimosas were on point & we were happy w/the recommendations made by our waiter Hunter.

Went with family for brunch. Added salt, pepper and butter to the grits. Everything else was seasoned well. The poached egg was cooked perfectly. The hash was great, and I’m a purple potato fan! But I don’t think I like banana pancakes so that wasn’t their faults lol. Lots of food for the price, such a plus. I’ll come back for lunch one day.

My wife had the crab cake sandwich and I had the Mediterranean salad. The crab cake sandwich had a surprisingly good flavor and the bun actually held up pretty well. However, the fries were quite soggy. The salad was ok and the hummus had a good flavor, although it was a bit too thick for my personal tastes. The pita was terrible.

Nice restaurant in Uptown with a nice happy hour and good appetizers. We loved their beef skewers, and I had their tortilla soup with tasted great. Nice stop in Uptown!

Our waiter was wonderful! The meaty meat pizza was great. Thin crust, cooked perfectly. The BLT was good but the bread was soggy and I don't like soggy bread, but the fries were scrumptious.

I was there at 9pm after a long flight. I had the ahi tuna salad and a cocktail. The server was great and the salad was good. Would have liked a little more tuna but the tastes were spot on.

Monday brunch. Ordered the breakfast pizza with no jalapeños. Too much black pepper otherwise it was okay. Cocktial: watermelon martini was delicious.

We went Saturday around 1pm. Not too busy. It seemed. The service was slow. Waited about 5 min before we even got waters. My potatoes were mostly overcooked. When the food was delivered we had to wait another 5 before the waiter came around to ask if we needed something else. If you get the mimosas get a double.

Eggs Benedict was overcooked ... the first egg was okay the next, and my friends were almost hard boiled. The waiter was sweet and agreed to take back one plate.

Food was good & so was the service. Dessert was lacking, but the drinks were good. They had a wide arrange of drinks to choose from.

I think this was an off Sunday for this place. This bar came highly recommended to us by our friends who used to live around the corner and still visit almost weekly. There was plenty of seating but there was only minimal staff and they were spread thin. It took over 20 minutes to get drinks for our party of 4 and then we were left alone for over 40 minutes before we walked up to the host and asked to order food. The pizza was good but the portion size of the side of fries was on the smaller size.

Ultimately, I love this neighborhood restaurant. I appreciate the friendly staff and the relaxed vibe! Consistency is the only thing that lacks at State. I love this restaurant but the food differs greatly from week to week. For instance, sometimes the Bacon Avocado Burger has 6" of thick bacon laid perfectly across it, other times it's over crisped and shriveled. Sometimes there's a perfect amount of avocado, and sometimes it's lacking. Fries may be short and stubby one day and cooked to perfection the next. I never know what to expect. A friend of mine had to order a pizza three different times for accuracy simply because she customized it. I'm hoping this is constructive because we appreciate the staff and the restaurant, but we want to see it better. Currently, it appears the kitchen staff are trained by different people on different days at different restaurants. No one is on the same page and that's been clear over time.

The service was absolutely impeccable. The pizza (The Meaty Meat) was great, however we did not enjoy the Love Love Bowl very soupy rice, just wasn’t pleasant. The crab dip appetizer was also very good. Will come back!

To the waitress who rolled her eyes when I ordered espresso - I’m sorry inserting the pods into the machine and pressing a button was an inconvenience for you. Maybe you should speak to your manager about taking it off the menu if it’s such a hard task.

I really enjoyed the food. It was flavorful and delicious. However, the quality of drinks and service left a lot to be desired. I ordered two tequila sunrises and they both tasted different. My friend's drink glass had someone else's lip print on it, which made me question their cleaning practices. The hostesses seems stressed and verbally complained about issues at the stand. The line to get to the host stand was disorganized and very cramped. It took us 15 minutes to get greeted and our order taken.

I Went for brunch i feel like its more of a bar than brunch. Smelled more old alcohol than food. But i will say the food i got was Bussin Bussin. It was a burger and pizza. I couldn't really tell who was staff and who wasnt. If i wouldn't have spoken up about placing an order i feel like i wouldnt have ate for a while.

We had the WORST service. We were seeing the male and female managers more than our actual server (guy). The hostess DID NOT want to be there. She was rude and should not be face when walking in. I ordered a Benedict and had to send the eggs back twice bc it was either overcooked or under. Then I had to ask for a side of hollandaise bc the food was so dry by the time they kind of got it right; they really should have re- made the whole thing . The apple whiskey drink on the menu did not taste as described on the menu and we had to order another drink in place of it. We got charged for both even though one was sent back and they were both the same price. We even got charged for the eggs that were re-made. The chicken and waffle was not up to par compared to some of the surrounding brunch places in that area. Parking is a hassle . Refills were a joke so don't come thirsty. I dont recommend this place. Only giving this place 2 stars bc the white pizza was actually good.

The food here is holding this place back. All of the food was just okay. Nothing spectacular. I won’t return here based on the food alone. The drinks were tasty and the service was good too. We had the white pizza it was 6/10. We had the crab crusted salmon. It tasted like it had been sitting out and then over seasoned to cover the taste. I also had the meatballs. They were the best thing we had. And we had the ahi tuna with salad. 7/10.

Ordered ahead to get my food faster. Ha joke was on me I waited even longer. In total over an hour between placing it and getting there and I only live 10 minutes away. Even if it’s good the service was awful. Jeez do better bartender

The experience here at State & Allen was a little different. It was not the best food. The drinks were very good 👌. Garrett was our server, and he was very nice. He was very attentive.

I want to preface this with the fact that I pull up every time to State & Allen, park out front, & tip $100 minimum no matter what I order. I actually never post reviews so the fact I’m posting a review is crazy. I’m rarely one to complain but the service I received from Rae tonight- blonde short haired girl was absolutely disgusting. She never checked on me, I had to ask other servers to place my order for me. Idk if I will ever be back as the service I received was atrocious- I will NEVER pull a race card but as I watched Rae walk back and forth and check on all the tables around me and never come to mine idk what else to dismiss it as. Despite all of this I still ripped $100 and she never said thank you or even acknowledged me. I doubt I will be back as long as she is still working there- you guys truly have to do better

I visited on 4/20/23. I am a previous employee and I visited to eat with my family but all of the food was horrible. My daughters pizza was burnt all the way to the point of no eating it. The shrimp tasted like rubber from being so overcooked. My steak sandwich was so overcooked and dry I couldn’t even eat it or enjoy it. The bill was $50 and not worth it at all. Highly upset.

Izzy is a great bartender, but the lady who took over for the evening on Saturday could not have been more disinterested in taking care of the people at the bar. No wonder that nearly everyone left when she came on. On the bright side, the food is great and the management is very thoughtful and responsive. Sad that one weak link can overshadow the whole experience.

How can you ruin Easter Sunday? Make reservations at State and Allen. Let's start by saying this is our first time and we were so excited about visiting for brunch. Party of 3. We promptly sat at our table and ordered within 5 minutes. What did we order? S+A Omelette, Eggs Bacon and Toast, and Chicken and Waffles. 1 hour later no food on a rather simple order. My 14 year old son was left wondering if it was racism since other non black patrons came after us but had already received their food. I really hope this was not the case but when I tell you I wish we could get that hour back. The restaurant wasn't extremely pack so we were left confused as to the why. Disappointed is an understatement.

Hostess with purple hair is very dishonest and misleading. Needs to be looked at. Asked for an open table, "not open"...she wants to give servers a break. Sits down a group 15 minutes later without calling us first. Lies about them having reservations after I asked if anyone had reservations at that table earlier.

I’ve been to State & Allen a number of times, and while the food and atmosphere are decent, the way the staff is managed really leaves a bad impression. The host and one of the servers clearly play favorites when it comes to seating tables. I’ve noticed the same server consistently getting sat while others are left with nothing, and it happens over and over again. Having regulars is one thing, but monopolizing them so only one person benefits is unfair — not just to the staff who rely on tips to make a living, but also to customers who can see the imbalance. It creates an uncomfortable environment and honestly makes me not want to come back. If the restaurant only wants one server handling everything, they should just schedule one person instead of wasting everyone else’s time. As a customer, I hate seeing this dynamic, and I can only imagine how discouraging it must be for the other servers. Until management addresses this favoritism, I can’t recommend this place.

Very disappointed in my visit today. My food was cold, waiter was horrible. Waiter (Jordan N) came to our table one time to bring my co-worker who is white a refilled. Me and another coworker was drinking water, he (Jordan N) never asked if we wanted anything. After we paid he touch my white coworker on the arm and told her to have a great day. Jordan N, you need a lot of training.

I have lived in the neighborhood for almost two years and I try come to State and Allen once every couple months just to see if it will get better. It does not. This is the worst bar around by a long shot. The food is decent, but the service is unbelievably bad. The draft beer is constantly flat and the servers take 20-30 minutes each round of drinks. I really want to like this place with living so close but TABC, Nodding, and Standard Pour are miles ahead of this Restaurant.

We we’ve been in this place a few times and every time the service has gotten worse. Now it has progressed to racism and it’s disgusting how management is not putting their waitress in check for this. We witnessed her treat customers rudely and the foul language this female continued to spew out of her mouth is horrible. Ray/Rae however you spell it, if you don’t like your job then leave! You seem to like the tips that people you dislike leave but you hate the color of their skin. Shame on you and shame on Management for putting up with this. You will definitely not be coming back even though it’s convenient because we all live close. We’d much rather spend our money in an establishment that respects all people and who hold their employees accountable for their actions.
