Bonjour Café in Dana Point was such a great find. I ordered the smoked ham eggs Benedict and the new banana French toast, and both were absolutely amazing. The eggs Benedict was perfectly balanced with rich, flavorful ham and a beautifully done hollandaise, and the banana French toast was indulgent without being overly sweet — soft, warm, and full of flavor. The vibe of the café is really lovely too. It has a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere and the décor is charming and thoughtfully done, making it a really nice place to sit and enjoy brunch. Definitely a spot I’d come back to when I’m in Dana Point. Great food, great ambiance, and a very enjoyable experience overall.

So glad we stopped! We were walking by and it smelled so good that we thought we would try it over some other good options nearby. The restaurant is not only charming but the food was incredible. I felt transported abroad the moment we sat down. The service is excellent and we even were welcomed in by the owner’s mother who brought the heart to the entire experience. We highly recommend the banana French toast and the avocado toast with prosciutto. Thanks for an unexpected great experience. We will bring our whole family next time!

I loved the atmosphere, felt very authentic, the food was delicious too! Definitely recommend pairing sweet with savory cause the soup and other 2 items were very rich. I would prefer more berries on the French toast instead of apples or pineapples, was still delicious and recommend. The coffee is strong too but I like that.

Absolutely delicious lox. And the tea and coffee are served in the cutest cups. I felt like I was transported instantly to Paris.

I haven’t been exposed to French cuisine so don’t know if food in this restaurant is French enough but The French toast I ordered was amazing and the avocado toast was good too. I liked the outside sitting and service was good, after we ordered our food the place started to get very busy but waiter kept track of everyone. Slightly pricey but it is California so .. 😂I do recommend it.

While on vacation in Dana Point, we discovered this amazing French breakfast/lunch restaurant. Absolutely loved the Cappuccinos and pastries. Wound up going there 4 times!

The french toast will BLOW YOUR MIND! Amazing little café, friendly staff, and a very homey atmosphere. There are many different menu choices to choose from, and just about anything you order is guaranteed not to disappoint. Plus, all of there menu choices are filled with tons of unique things I’ve never seen before. 11/10 would go again, highly recommended for anyone who enjoys good food and wants to try something new.

I came here for my parents' 35th Anniversary breakfast. It's not a formal place but they do food really well, which, of course, is the most important part of going out to eat. It was delightful both for the food and for the service. They serve breakfast all day. The menu is very French. There is outdoor seating. They let you bring your dogs. Parking is on the street. Very crowded on the weekends! They do not take reservations. You can order baguettes to go, which we most certainly did.

Very very solid choice for French breakfast options. We have not tried their lunch menu yet. Been twice for quiche Lorraine and crepes. We did try the French toast the last time and it was excellent. All of the ingredients were of very high quality and the flavors balanced so well together. The atmosphere is always nice as well.

We had a delightful breakfast at this charming French bistro! I savored La Traditionelle crepe, which was incredibly delicate in taste and texture. The Les Qeufs De Benedicte were also outstanding, with a perfectly poached egg and a delicious Hollandaise sauce. Every bite was a culinary adventure that left us wanting more. If you're a fan of French cuisine, this is a must-visit spot that will not disappoint!

L'Avocado Toast Magnifique w/Smoked Salmon and two perfectly cooked fried eggs is worth coming back for. Love the French Toast and whip cream can easily be a meal on its own. Excellent service and attention to detail when ordering. Will definitively be coming back with the babies as they love French Toast and whip Cream! Thank you Christian!

We are regulars here and we try to always sit where Gilbert could serve our table. Amazing little French flavored Cafe with amazing very generous dishes and a French unique twist to them. Food is why you would come here but everything else is nothing less than how good the food is. Great taste of music and a little round table on the sidewalk in the sun is all you would need to have a good time.

Absolutely perfect breakfast spot in Dana Point! We went with our family during a visit to Dana Point/Laguna Beach area and the service and food were top notch. I spoke with the owners mother for some time and she was so friendly, warm and welcoming. We brought our young children and dog and they were nothing but accommodating. I had the mushroom quiche and my husband had their crepes. Both were excellent. Can’t miss cafe if you’re in Dana Point.

Incredible vegetarian sandwiches! One, L 'étoile, with sun dried tomato and roasted eggplant spread, ripe avocado, melted Brie cheese, fresh basil, and mixed lettuce was our favorite. One, Le Royal, with artichoke hearts, sun dried tomatoes, sweet red peppers, avocado, Swiss cheese, and homemade mild vinaigrette dressing was exceptional especially taking bites from both sandwiches. The potatoes on the side were the best that I have had in Orange County.

Great stop on our honeymoon, one of our highlights. Terrific breakfast. Cute little spot, very busy, probably understaffed so don’t expect to be quick. Portions are much larger than expected, and the quality exceeds its price. Must stop

This restaurant is pretty good, but the prices are a bit over what it would take to get me back in to try something else. The Food: Me and my wife both ordered their French toast, since it was ranked as “the best French toast in OC” in 2023 supposedly. I was pretty disappointed to be honest. The fruit on the toast was a bit overwhelming due to the amount, and didn’t add a whole lot to the flavor. It was very organic tasting however. I didn’t feel overwhelmed with artificial sweeteners, like some restaurants throw onto their French toast which was a positive. The fruit itself, however, was not the most flavorful fruit I’ve had. It left something to be wished for. The texture of the toast was very nice. The toast itself I had no complaints with. And I will also revisit the topic of the fruit again, I don’t know if it was the apples, the almonds or the mango purée, and it sounds dastardly to put it this way, but it is what I felt in the moment, something of those three tasted slightly of the smell you get of an outdoor dog that’s been drenched in water. I know the smell well from the farm that I grew up on. It was a tad un appetizing. The scrambled eggs were a tad too raw for me. Granted, I did not tell the Cook to scramble them hard. But they ultimately were pretty un enjoyable for myself. My Irish coffee was very underpowered. I can genuinely say that was one of the worst $11 I’ve spent on a drink as far as value is concerned. The Service: The service on the other hand was very nice. We were greeted warmly and attended to promptly. The server and our hostess were both very down to earth enjoyable people to be around and if it weren’t for them, I wouldn’t of left the tip that I did, because they genuinely deserved it. The atmosphere: The atmosphere was also pretty nice. And we really enjoyed their seating arrangements, table cloths and their utensils. Everything was very boutique looking. In the end, as you see on the receipt, I spent upwards of $60 on the meal, and it left me very unimpressed. I applaud the servers, but unfortunately will probably not be back here due to the culinary experience. (Another side note about the French toast. It came with possibly some of the worst maple syrup I’ve had in my life. It was like the owner just got a 70 gallon drum of aunt Jemima syrup from Big Lots to use for every table. For prices like this, I would expect high-quality organic maple syrup, and that maple syrup made me very frustrated.)

Form over substance would be the title of this review. We came here for breakfast on a weekend. The establishment is cute. It's a small place with sidewalk seating and a few tables inside. We were a little disappointed by the food. They did have a unique selection of egg dishes, but they just missed the mark for us. It's like they took a bunch of French ingredients, threw them in a hat, and blindly picked a few and decided to make a dish of it. I had the Benedict, and the bread was very hard to cut, which made for a frustrating experience. My husband got the bouchee, and the ingredients just didn't go. Also the puff pastry was low quality. Service was excellent, though, and we loved the ambiance and the coffee!

Wait time of ~45min which honestly would be perfectly fine if the sandwich didn’t feel like it was thrown together by the driest human being in the world who vowed to keep this universe dry. The bread was extremely stale and was at the very least a day old (most likely two). I mean this is just sad all around.
