Nanking Bistro Danville Reviews
Nanking Bistro is run by the former owners of Little Namking in San Leandro, and they make some of the best Chinese food in the Bay Area. Their hot and sour soup is fantastic, and I have yet to find another restaurant that does it better, and that includes high-end Chinese restaurants such as Din Tai Fung. The breading on their fried calamari is thin, crispy, and flavorful. Their sweet and sour pork is very good, and the pork pieces are not mostly dough like at other Chinese restaurants. Everything I have tried on their menu has been great.
Food was amazing - reminder the portions are family sized for sharing. One $3 side of white rice is enough for two people. The sesame chicken was indeed the best I’ve ever had. The potstickers with peanut sauce were also delicious. We sat outdoors, the fall weather was perfect. The service is what it is - they’re trying to accommodate demand and turn tables as fast as they can. While we were in no way rushed, refills or getting staffs attention is almost impossible.
We had another great dinner last night. Their dishes, the portions and the service are always great.

This is a family owned restaurant in downtown Danville and deserves our support! The food is delicious. The people working there were friendly and attentive. I love to support small local business and this is one we plan to frequent!
Wow great first visit. Fried rice was delicious, sizzling beef and honey chicken ❣️❣️ great new find for me.
As a family we’ve ordered superior Chinese food from Nanking even before it was NanKing when it was Uncle Wu’s. Never disappointed until tonight. All food we received was cold even the rice. Little flavor as well. Very cold making the special evening not enjoyable and we live one mile from them.
The food is great, although I haven't eaten there in person. I would totally suggest getting one of their chicken dishes which will definitely fill you up. 🐓
I’ve just moved into Danville recently. I found this restaurant very charming and the staff is friendly and provides good service. The menu selection would satisfy your taste buds for good home cooking Chinese Cusine.. My favorite on the menu is their Mongolian black bean chicken chow fun, , basil eggplant chicken, MaPo tofu, honey fry chicken wings, hot & sour soup and dry sauté green beans. Every items comes out from the kitchen fresh, flavorful and just enough spice. I also think if you were a vegetarian you would also be happy with the menu choices.
Glad we found this cozy little gem in Danville. Were just about to leave town after checking out some other restaurants and happened upon Nanking. Fresh Delicious salmon fried rice! Perfect tofu with a variety of veggies! Lovely service!
A hidden treasure. Definitely the best Chinese food in the area.

Great food and friendly staff! They have good prices and large selection. The seating is spacious and comfortable, and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere to it
The best Chinese food in Alamo/Danville! Their orange chicken is my favorite!
Try the hot and sour soup.
Family owned business and the food is really good.

GOOD QUALITY CHINESE FOOD
Good Chinese food, but of course any such place has hits and misses. We loved the Szechuan shrimp and chow mein, not so much General chicken and chicken with spicy garlic (I think that was it, flat chicken slices with too much breading). Overall one of our favorite Chinese places in the extended Tei-Valley though.
Got the salt and pepper fish to go. Super salty, recommend eating it with rice! Would definitely go back and try other dishes

Place falls short for Chinese food. Way too many hot jalapeño peppers in the dishes we ordered that ruined the proper taste. And too many onions and fillers to compensate for less meat. Not going back ever with many good local options.

This has to be one of the worst take away meals we have ever had over 30 years. There was so little meat or chicken and it was simply crust in a glupe that was full of MSG. The boiled rice was not even cooked. We are both cooks and this was horrendous! Don’t do it.
Food was hella salty and I ask for a lunch menu order and they made me pay for a full dinner order, too much M.S.G in it and there food was old and reusable, 👎
