El patio Davis Reviews
I probably chose the busiest time to go on a Saturday afternoon during UCD Grad weekend but to my surprise service was so quick and it wasn’t busy! Parking and downtown was pretty crazy but I parked far and walked over. I ordered the surf n turf burrito and it was HUGE along with a Jamaica drink and in addition I got a Baja fish burrito grilled. My food came out quickly, the staff were super friendly and the food was delicious! It was a little salty for me so I wish I had lime to balance the taste but overall devoured it! It also came with chips and salsa. I haven’t been here since the renovation so it was nice to see a little bar area, full bar and tons of items on the menu! From breakfast, vegetarian, and $2.50 taco Tuesday & Thursday! I can’t wait to come back and try more things on the menu!
It’s been a while since I have been to El Patio, but the experience is just as good as I remember. When I first walked in, the restaurant looked very different than before. They had remodeled the restaurant since my last visit. Before the inside looked old and dark, but with the remodel, it is now bright and modern. The old chips and salsa station is now the bar area with a TV. Their food was delicious as before. The service was also stepped up compared to before. When my son and I walked in, we were promptly greeted and told to pick our seat and they would bring the menus to us. The menus came and a minute later, chips and salsa (green and red) came out along with waters. We can in around 6pm, so there was a Happy Hour menu as well. They have a nice selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to choose from. Food: I chose the Quesabirria Taco Special which came with 3 tacos and my son got the Fajitas Quesadilla with Carne Asada. The tacos were good size and the consommé was delicious! The Fajita Quesadilla was gigantic and my son was not able to finish it and took about half of it home. The Quesadilla came with crema and guacamole which were both very good. Both the green and red salsas were very tasty, I like both, but my son liked the red one a lot. Neither salsas were spicy in my opinion, but had great flavor. I have to give a shout out and big thanks to our waitresses Odalis and Ale as they provided excellent service. They constantly came to check on us, refilled our chips if needed, promptly cleared empty plates off the table and were very pleasant to talk to. I noticed they provided the same excellent service to all the customers in the restaurant. If you owned a restaurant, Odalis and Ale are the type of employees you would want working for you! My family and I will be back again for delicious food! 5 Stars all around!
Probably the best burrito I've ever had! Got the California Burrito, the thing is HUGE! And the prices are fair! *IN THIS ECONOMY?!*
I ordered carne asada fajitas to go. Quite tasty they also have a little salsa bar. Prices were quite reasonable.
We love coming here! I like to make a keto friendly bowl which is the surf and turf bowl with no rice and sub lettuce with extra avocado. You can also add extra chipotle mayo. It also comes with shrimp and steak and pico de gallo. My husband gets different things but his favorite are the wet burritos. But honestly my guilty pleasure is the CARNE ASADA FRIES. In my opinion, it's one of the better mexican food restaurants in the downtown davis area.
Really great Mexican food restaurant in Davis. The quesa birria tacos and Aggie tacos are must trys when you come here!

Great food, music and margaritas! I’ve been bringing all my coworkers here and we got recognized as regulars 😂
The food was great & fast. Service was excellent. It was very reasonable $ & quiet
My favorite place for tacos in town. Mulitas are the best, guacamole is fresh. Servers are super kind and attentive, and it’s a chill atmosphere with music at the right volume

Really cool taco spot in the heart of Davis. I had a tasty Cali style burrito with shrimp and fish and the salsa served with super crunchy chips was really good.
Located in downtown Davis, this is a great restaurant and bar, which offers a student discount (with ID). Excellent happy hour specials. $7 food menu and $5 drinks! I highly recommend their quesabirria especial- 3 crunchy, fried tacos with shredded beef and cheese. Upgrade to the combo, which is $3 for beans and rice. Homemade tortilla chips and salsa (green and red).
A quick bite for lunch. Loved the taco salad I ordered. The place was clean and our server was attentive. A nice spot with a lot of places to visit around the restaurant in Davis.
Passing thru this adorable town & decided to grab some breakfast. The good: We got the bacon, potatoes & eggs & the steak, potatoes & eggs. They were French fries. I have to say they were delicious! They weren't dripping in grease but they weren't dry. So our bellys were happy & full. The bad: The guy in front of us was letting the person named LizBeth that their order was incorrect, he was nice about it & just wanted it corrected. LizBeth curtly told him that she would make another. Our turn to order. As I was ordering she was side eyeing the guy that wanted his order corrected. She was so engrossed in that she did not hear my order & only got 1 burrito on my order. I told her I need 2, she replied "burritos?" So I repeated the order. So I took off 1 star for not only LizBeth's rudeness but the entire staff was very rude & unprofessional. But if you can ignore that the food is very good & satisfying.
I had a chicken burrito in lunch & shrimp burrito in dinner. Very good taste. I just love it. 4/15/22 Friday shrimp burrito

I came here on a Tuesday evening. Their sign outside says happy hour all day Mon-Fri, but they didnt have anyone on the clock who could legally make drink, dont know how that works. I got the carne asada fries but veggie style, no meat just beans instead. They charged extra for taking off meat and putting on beans. Salsa is good. Not coming back.
Convenient location with outdoor dining nearby as well as plenty of indoor seating. Staff were polite but, unfortunately, they got our order wrong. I had ordered the taco combo with beans and rice, but did not receive the right items. Also, we found the enchiladas to be rather greasy with filling that was unevenly distributed. In my opinion, the taste and overall appeal is not worth the price.

I placed 2 different orders totalling almost 80$ and ordered 1 birria taco because I had never had one. I asked for the broth dip and she told me it was an additional charge and asked for another pico and it was an additional charge. The food was good enough though. I prefer the woodland location

so sad that they remodeled and changed service type. used to be a super chill order at the counter and pick where you sit but now you must be seated with a host and served by waitresses who are never available/ not well trained. the food is fine but seems to be slightly lower quality than before and took 25 minutes to get in a near empty restaurant. got rid of the self serve chips/ salsa bar. the remodel was nicely done but ugly, the bar is nice but doesn’t fit the vibes and the rest of the restaurant is just bland. overall, poor service, long wait times, mid food. will be going elsewhere from now on for my burritos
I got the el patio fries and el patio burrito with Al pastor as my meat choice and unfortunately not only did it not have enough meat but it was also burnt. :( server was kind but food quality was not so good :( (the black specs is the al pastor meat)
The good news: outdoor tables, decent rice, good tortillas, chopped onions with jalapeños available on the side. The bad news: you will need to request a table wipe-down. No one will make the effort to let you know your order is ready if you’re seated outside, even if you are one of <2 sets of customers. The pinto bean slush is tasteless, the pico de gallo anemic, the salsas and guacamole blah. My friend couldn’t stomach the chilaquiles that were recommended to him, so I shared my eggs n’ bacon with him. Overload, the vibe = unhappy + don’t really care about the customers. Perhaps they’re fed up with being a downtown location in a college town?

Why would you renovate and then change everything that was good about the food? I love the woodland location and though the Davis location wasn't quite as good, it was my go to. After my last visit where they served and charged adult sizes to kids, brought the wrong orders, and worse served stale chips and the salsa is completely different. Also the new bar, looks trendy, and is super basic. All of this would be fine, but the food isn't good and now I need to pay full service tips if I eat in. No thanks. So disappointed. I do not recommend the Davis El Patio.
First time ordering, DoorDash a 20 dollar burrito bowl, that I added extra rice ($1)and they barely gave me any rice. This small bowl for 20 dollars???? And i specially asked for extra rice, I even paid for it, and they didn’t give me any. Decided to give a try again today, asked for a burrito bowl because I’m allergic to gluten. They gave me a burrito……. I also orders chips and salsa, never received it…. WHERE IS THE RICE??? Did the cook ate it? Never again.

We sat down with no menu and not even water for over 15 minutes. Several customers came in after us and immediately received menus, water, and chips and salsa, while our waitress completely ignored our table. After waiting more than 20 minutes without even being offered a menu, we had no choice but to leave. Terrible service..! extremely disappointing experience because we couldn’t even order the food😭
