Tea List Davis Reviews
What a lovely small little place to have afternoon tea with friends and/or family. I always selected High Tea Service. The food was excellent and so was the service. Loved the scone with fresh homemade Devonshire cream and berry jam. I’ve been here many times and still want to come back again and again. The price is very reasonable. I’ve been to many high tea places and so far this one is the cheapest and with excellent food. Free 2 hours parking on the street. Highly recommended.
Wow! I came here on a Saturday morning by invitation of a friend and I was blown away! The quality of teas and the small bites is so lovely! I love they also made some arrangements when a friend of mine couldn't eat fruits and made some replacements on our service. I thought it was very lovely, the tables a bit on smaller end if it's a group of three but if you're dining alone or with a friend I think this is an amazing experience.
Went for sister’s birthday! The service was great and the food was really good! The cucumber sandwiches were a bit thin maybe have the cucumber a bit more thicker? Overall it was really nice!!
Can we talk about how wonderful Tea List is?! My husband and I visited a couple days ago and got the Queen's Tea package ($49.95 per person). I made reservations ahead of time and confirmed the day before our reservation which tea package we wanted. I also appreciate that they asked if there are any allergy accommodations e.g. dairy free substitutes. Just a heads up: Queen's Tea has to be reserved 24 hours in advance. When we arrived, our table was already ready for us. The staff were so sweet and attentive. Since we got the Queen's Tea, we got to choose our teas with the option of changing it out 2 more times with a different tea. We tried the Buckingham Palace Garden Party tea and then I later tried the Long Island Strawberry Green Tea while my husband later got the Organic Mango Mango. All of the teas were delicious, but we agreed the Buckingham Palace was our favorite. The package also included a large assortment of tea sandwiches and cakes. We were surprised by how full we were by the end of tea time and had to take the cakes home! We'll definitely be back here again.
Simply excellent! Sandwiches, pastries, service, tea, atmosphere, aesthetic, everything!!! We had a birthday celebration and made a reservation for a larger party in advanced. They were very accomodating with dietary preferences (vegetarian and vegan options) and nut allergies, so we almost had a different tea service catered to each person. The tea selection is fantastic! We were offered 3 pots to start, with an optional 4th afterwards. I personally loved the Rose Melange and the cold Peach Tea. The food was delicious and surpisingly filling. The sandwiches may look small but there's a lot of them! Big fan of the Turkey Pesto and the Salmon + Caper sandwiches. The sweets were all also so yummy and so decadent. Overall, it was just a wonderful experience and a great way to spoil ourselves ☺️
Had a fantastic time for a birthday high tea! My family is British and I did a ton of research for the most traditional British high tea and Tea List did not disappoint. $30 for high tea, which is pretty standard for a good quality tea service. We each got our own mini pots of tea and we could try a different one when we finished the first. We had our scones with Devonshire cream and preserves. They were wonderful, but not nearly enough cream or jam to split between 2 people!! Then came our tiered tray FULL of sandwiches and desserts with light fruit to finish. The sandwiches were yummy (especially the curried chicken salad), desserts were great and the fruit was a nice way to refresh after the heavy desserts. Definitely do high tea during a meal time (we went for lunch) because it is extremely filling. They finished our service with a slice of almond pear cake and sang me happy birthday. It was a delightful experience and we will surely be back! Thank you to the sweet girls who helped us too.
Came here for a bridal shower and it was a cute and fun experience. The tea sandwiches are delicious (we had curry egg, mint cucumber, med veg, Turkey, and summer squash), the homemade scones have devonshire cream and jam, and for dessert they have shortbread ganache bites, sliced fruit, and some sort of puff pastry. It was a fun place for tea in a very casual environment. If you are looking for an upscale tea place this is not it (try the Palace Hotel or Neiman Marcus in SF). But for a casual tea this was great! And their tea selection was wonderful, we chose five different teas and they have unlimited refills.
Very cute outdoor corner with fresh flowers on each table. We were greeted with friendly staff and they offered a very helpful and thorough description of the menu and services they offer. We also met the owner and she was extremely friendly. We ordered frozen lemonade and raspberry tea. Excellent service and flavors. It’s one of a kind!
So much food and fun. I'm the maid of honor for a dear friends wedding so took her and another friend for a mini pre bridal fun to Tea List. Ordered the Queen's Tea (worth it)!
This was our 1st visit to the Tea List and it did not disappoint! We had a party of 13 celebrating the holidays and friendship in general. What better way than to dress up and go to high tea. The service was great and very attentive. We loved the eclectic collection of tea cups, saucers and teapots. The Tea options satisfied everyone. We loved the scones, tea sandwiches, and assorted desserts and fruits. Everyone enjoyed themselves. We would definitely come back again.
My friend took me to Tea List in Davis for the first time, and I was really impressed. They have a great selection of teas, and everything we ordered was fresh and beautifully presented. We got the Vegan Afternoon Tea and also shared the Mediterranean Platter. The place has a cozy feel with a cute garden patio. You do need a reservation, even on a weekday. We went on a Thursday and it was already fully booked. I’m really glad I got to try it and would definitely go again.

Highly recommend reservations and reading all small print. I found this place online because I was looking for high tea. It was tucked behind buildings with a great outdoor dining area. It was a tad chilly but there were heaters. We tried getting one tea but you have to call 24hrs in advance which we missed somehow. We enjoyed our tea and service was great. They did mess up on all vegetarian sandwiches. Plus was there are vegan options. Staff was very friendly and the petite fours were the stars!
Cute place tucked back from the street. We called early for a same day reservation (Wednesday) and were graciously accommodated for their Afternoon Tea service. Service was excellent and all food was delicious. Good value for what you receive and was plenty of food for our appetites. Good variety of loose teas to choose from, brewed in personal pot for each and thoughtfully provided a tray to set leaves aside when timer finished. Only minus comment would be that filling on a couple sandwiches was a little skimpy. Reservations recommended and they also offer a brunch / lunch menu.
Nice little tea place. Foods and tea were great, but just like most other tea places the tea was bland due to stingy amount of tea leaves in each pot. But overall good experience. Love the scones, the pastry, and the tuna sandwich.

It's a tiny cafe in a alleyway so it's not visible from the street. Plan on parking in a nearby public lot as there's very limited street parking near it. They have a smaller tea menu on weekends then the week. There's no al a carte food options on the weekend and the scones are only one flavor. The clotted cream used is a different flavor/type then used in traditional English tea shops and cafes. The seating is indoor or outdoor and it's quiet outside due to its location. It's a rare shop that offers a afternoon tea in the Sacramento area. The next closest type of shop to Davis is in Vacaville. Having experienced real afternoon tea in London, this is a decent attempt to meet those standards. The lack of food on weekends and variety of scones is disappointing, however.

Tucked down an alleyway by the zen salon is a Charming and pleasant tea room with polite and friendly staff. The teas were brewed perfectly in beautiful porcelain tea pots and matching tea cups. Don’t eat before you go because the food you can get as part of the whole experience is definitely worth it. The finger foods are delightful, the deserts blend well with the teas and each one is savory. I highly recommend the lemon scones and egg salad curry sandwiches . The scones come with a grape preserve and the smoothest cream I have ever had. The only drawback of this tea room is that the location is tucked so you have to pay attention to the alley and look for zen salon. The bathroom is a little of a walk from the tea room and if you go during spring, bring a fan as they keep the door open and bugs can come in. You can also sit outside if you prefer. Overall it was a lovely experience and the food and staff really made it worthwhile.
Went here for a friend’s birthday. We made a reservation for three people in advance. We arrived on time for our reservation but they gave our table to another party of three who had a reservation for an earlier time but they were 45 minutes late for their reservation time. We felt this was unfair, considering they were significantly late for their reservation but we were on time. Isn’t that the point of a reservation? Anyway, the staff accommodated us by seating us at an alternate seating area that they share with a restaurant next door. This was nice because we actually had more privacy. The staff were attentive throughout our time there, checking on us quite frequently which we appreciated. They even provided us with a free pot of tea for the inconvenience. We each ordered the Queen’s tea. The tea servings were generous and there was quite a selection of teas to choose from. This included a charcuterie. The cheeses were delicious, although I was disappointed that the crackers included were merely saltine crackers. The tower was filled with small sandwiches and desserts. I felt the food was average, simple breads and pastries that I could have easily purchased at a grocery store. The cucumber sandwiches had a thin spread of cream cheese and one thinly sliced cucumber in each sandwich. The same could be said for the other sandwiches, a thin spread of cheese and a thin slice of salmon, etc. Our reservation was at 2 and at about 3:45 one of the servers came with our check and some boxes even though we were clearly not finished with our food or tea. They told us that the restaurant will be opening at 4:15 and we could certainly stay but we would have to move to an open table in the tea house, which they now had available for us or we could leave if we were finished. We stated that we would be done before 4:15. Overall, the food and service was average. The servers were definitely kind and apologetic for what occurred. If they had a stricter reservation policy perhaps this inconvenience could have been avoided. The decor was beautiful, which made up for this experience. I gave this place three stars because the staff were kind, but honestly if I was just rating the quality of food and tea service I would give it a two. These are things I could have easily made at home and possibly made better by shopping at a specialty grocery store. I believe the pricing is based on the experience because the tea house and decor was actually very beautiful.

I took my wife here for a cute date. We made a reservation. They sat us right in front of the doorway (and when I say right in front, I mean I was bumped into multiple times throughout our stay). Our conversation was drowned out by the very loud electric hum of some ventilation on the adjacent business and was honestly giving me a headache. It was a half hour before we saw our first pot of tea. Meanwhile, not one, but three other tables were getting their 2nd rounds. They forgot, I know this because three separate employees apologized (I want to make clear I'm not upset at the individual employees, I get it). When our snack tray arrived, it nearly toppled over because the metal bar holding the layered plates was loose. Upon biting the white bread on the sandwiches, we noticed it was all stale. The wheat was not, at least (we still finished our food because we don't waste). I knew the price of this place before going, but the quality is not represented in this business. I'm not upset at service staff, but the management is highly lacking. If you are charging those prices, simple quality control is expected.

I think it’s good for the price. It’s a very standard afternoon tea service and I especially liked the chicken salad. Only weird thing about my experience was the seating. I did not have a reservation and was by myself. The inside was completely empty as they had just opened, but I was told that they could only seat me outside. I understood as again I was by myself and did not have a reservation so I just figured there would be groups showing up that had already reserved the inside. However, no one showed up the entire time I was there. I just thought that was kind of weird, but I don’t think the service was bad at all.

Photos are from last week to over two and three years ago. You can see how the portions have changed. So has the service. I can’t express how sad I am about this. I want to support a small business but this was so bad. I wanted to treat family to a nice tea place. We barely had service, the table I confirmed was not available despite there being only one other party there. A fly flew into our honey and when I subtly asked for a replacement, the owner came back to show me the fly was still moving so it was not her fault. I should have asked how much the take away chicken salad sandwiches were because they were $6 for each slider sized portion. So for about $200, including the tip and 4oz of tea, it was so not worth it. The best part was the bill being presented, with the face up, to the wrong person. We had one queen, a high and a lower service. I’m glad I changed it from 3 queens tea. The second photo was two queen and the last is three queen. The picture does that one no justice.

I felt the service was really bad and the sandwiches were more bread then anything, the turkey sandwich was a very thin piece of turkey meat and you could barely taste it, the smoked salmon was terrible and again you could hardly see any salmon, the chicken curry rolls were also terrible you pretty much only tasted the curry and turmeric it over powered the chicken. The only decent sandwich was the cucumber. The waitress didn’t clean our table when we were done until we asked her to and she hardly checked on us. I would not recommend this place
