We came for dinner on a Friday night and the karaoke was so fun! The atmosphere is awesome. I loved that it was tucked away behind the grocery store - it felt like hidden gem. We absolutely loved our meal & the staff was so kind and accommodating. Would definitely come back soon!

The medium Tamarindo was huge! Was quiet on Saturday afternoon. Fast service.

GREAT spot for families and couples! I had their birria tacos and my boyfriend had the chicken flautas. Theyre packed with meat and super flavorful, we shared plates since we liked both lol. Service was great. Karaoke night can be busy, but I take that as a good sign. :)

A very nice Mexican family restaurant with an attached Mexican grocery. They have a stage that is set up for live and karaoke, but we were there Sunday evening so cannot say certain. Staff and owner where excellent. Ready with an explanation and suggestion, and extremely welcoming. Tried the lengua (tongue) and barbacoa (lamb) tacos mexicanous. Both were excellent my wife had the mole con Pollo which was good. Cannot beat the price and pleasant ambiance We will be coming back in May to try the huitlacoche (corn fungus) taco, which was unavailable at this time of year. Grocery had a great selection of dried peppers and spices. BYOB. Worth a detour.

The food is authentic and delicious. I ordered chicken tamales and they are large and yummy. The green tomatillo sauce has a great flavor and is spicy but not too hot. We also got the lamb barbacoa, and it was the best I have ever had. The lamb was tender, juicy and had a lovely flavor.. We've lived in San Antonio for 25 years and El Manantial would give some of our favorite places there a run for their money.

The food was delicious! Everything we tried was perfectly seasoned, the meat was tender, and the guacamole was outstanding! The staff was very personable and attentive. They gave us coupons for a free appetizer for our next visit. Awesome! I can't wait to go back to work my way through the menu!

Such a fun and cute place! It’s a grocery store in the front and then BOOM a little piece of beautiful Mexico in the back with great authentic food at reasonable prices. The food was on point! The people were friendly and the options were many! I saw they have a small stage area and saw signs about Karaoke- but I didn’t experience that so I’m not totally sure. Give this place a try- support local restaurants. These people really care about the food and quality they provide and give you flavorful plates you won’t find in chain restaurants. Try the tortas!

This is my third time ordering ,the first time I ordered , 75.00$ worth of food 12 tacos, a order of birria tacos with cheese and chimichangas. My only issue was the service and portion size they gave me a 4oz cup of consommé and I asked for salsa verde and she told me she could only give me salsa verde for the tacos mind you I had 15 tacos including the birria tacos they only gave me 3 2oz cups of salsa verde for 15 tacos frustrated me ! The food taste amazing tho . I ordered today and got 3 chicken tacos extra meat lettuce salsa with no cheese and a order of rice and beans it was 24.00$ and a order of birria tacos with cheese and it wasn’t ready when I arrived which I ordered it at 4:10pm for 5:00pm . When I got there it wasn’t ready so I had a small attitude didn’t get loud or wasn’t being unruly you can just see it on my face . After waiting for them to make another order without cheese the Indian lady tossed my order at me I just left . They need to adjust with their services because it’s a common occurrence for me . I won’t be ordering from them again . Their food is amazing !!! I’m just not trying to fight over sauces order timing and portion sizes .

Went in for 3 orders of tacos on a Friday night! We called our order in about 15 minutes ahead. When I went in to pick up the food, the hosted told me I had to wait because the lady who takes the money is doing karaoke right now. I stand at the counter and wait until her song is over, and she comes up and says my order will be ready in 5 minutes. I stepped outside to wait and went back in after about 7 or 8 minutes, only to stand at the counter another 5 minutes waiting. When the food is finally ready, I pay and head out. After the wait, the staff was really nice though. We ate the tacos in the car and they were very good. Taste was fresh and tacos were hot. The grilled jalapeños were 🔥! I can't say that the food was worth the wait, but it was good. I can't say the wait was bad enough to not go back. If I'm in that area and craving a taco, I'd probably go back. Sorry, no pictures. Update- went back 6/18/24, and steak tacos were not good. Steak was tough and didn't have any flavor. Thankful for the lime and cilantro.

I was in the area, so decided to try it out (pick up). After checking my bag at the front, I noticed there were no complimentary nachos or salsa 😭. I assumed the woman forgot to put it in the bag (no biggie), so I asked her about the "missing items". I was then told ONLY customers who eat-in get the UNLIMITED nachos and salsa. Whaaaaaaa!!! Never Experienced This Rule Before. The food was pretty good...will not be returning though.

I’ve ordered from grubhub many times and this time it looks like the tacos were just thrown together. Usually they’re full of steak but now they were full of cilantro and onions as if they were dumped onto the taco and served me left over steak, very disappointing.

This place is always hit-or-miss. First off what pricing you see on their menu is not the same as what you're getting charged. So when you get your bill it seems like it's literally twenty to twenty five percent higher than what's listed so be aware. Their bathrooms are not clean every time I go in there. The staff is always short and it takes forever to get your food. When you get your food even though you're waiting so long it's usually cold. If I waited forty five minutes why is my food cold. Not for our order, but I also sell them open a can for the people's order next to us. So I guess alot of their stuff isn't fresh. It's a shame because a lot of their food doesn't really have any flavor. If you weren't guacamole with your order. Good luck with that. They charge you $3 and it's literally a spoonful. I gave this place a couple shots. And it just doesn't work out.I even tried grub hub. It took two hours and it was still missing a bunch of stuff.

I really truly hate writing negative reviews (check my review history if you're skeptical), but I was deeply disappointed by El Manantial, so here it is: 1. There is active construction inside during business hours. I came to grab lunch and the noise was deafening. I should have walked out then and there but I decided to give them a chance because my taco craving was off the charts. 2. The bathroom is kind of unsettling, not filthy but definitely grungy. 3. They are charging prices that are 25% higher than they have listed on the menu with no warning. When I got my receipt and pointed out to the girl who was working that I was being charged significantly more than what was listed on the menu she gave me she kind of just shrugged. When I asked if she thought they should update the menu to reflect the new pricing she just casually said "probably." Not great customer service there. I understand pricing increases but at least give guests a heads up in advance. 4. The food was mediocre. I had a tinga taco, a chorizo, and a lengua as well as a tres leches cake. All edible, but I wasn't happy about eating any of it. The salsa I was given for the tacos was just vaguely tomatoish and had no spice, the meats were on the chewy side, and the tortilla had a bit of an odd texture. The tres leches was just meh. Nothing was disgusting, but rather just underwhelming. All in all, can't recommend it. Don't plan on going back, and wish I hadn't spent the money.

The staff was very pleasant however the food was very bland no special taste they charge you six dollars for chips and salsa and don’t even carry ice tea or even lemons the cheese in the picture below and the salsa were all clearly right out of the can. I had the steak fajitas the meat used was clearly the flank steak but a very thin cheap cut of meat that was about the thickness of a piece of bologna I might give this place another try if I was really hungry but my opinion right now is if it wasn’t for the pleasantness of the staff it would get a zero star

Ordered on DoorDash food was HORRIBLE. The rice was bland and hard the steak in the tacos was dry and tough will never order here again 0/10 don’t recommend!

If I could rate this place i would rate it a zero, this food was not authentic at all especially for mexican food. it is a disgrace to our culture and food. No seasoning on the beans, the rice, nor the steak. i ordered a carne asada and my boyfriend a quesadilla next thing you know it’s an empanada, i know mexican food because i am a mexican myself. Getting charged 0.35$ for take out and not even the food to be good is ridiculous. I would not recommend this place at all, they have a cute store in front when you walk in with mexican snacks and ingredients which is more authentic then their food. 10/10 for the store but -10/10 for the food. They do have cute decorations and cool events would go if their food is better. As a hispanic this was not authentic at all.

You walk through a store front before entering the restaurant. Service was very friendly and quick. However, the food was flavorless. My husband had beef enchiladas and it was simply ground beef with no seasoning, I had chicken enchiladas which also had no flaver. We were hoping for something really good to be nearby but were sadly disappointed

What a complete and utter disappointment. We really enjoy trying local establishments and supporting small businesses. If I could post a negative star, I would. We arrived at 6pm and there was only one other couple at a table. We ordered nachos with steak as an appetizer and placed the order for our meals at the same time. About 45 minutes later, the server brought the plate of nachos out and warned that the plate was hot. At least the plate was hot because the nachos were not. Less than 3 minutes later the server brought out our meals. The plated presentation looked very good and that’s about where anything close to good ended with this experience. My meal (the Enchiladas Bandera) was cold. The other meal (the Bistec con Enchiladas - Steak & Enchiladas) was served on a hot skillet which kept it hot. The steak was mostly fat and gristle and had no flavor. The enchilada sauce barely had a hint of flavor. I sent my meal back (the Enchiladas Bandera). I was offered a replacement and declined because didn’t want to wait another 45 minutes. As we sat at the table we could hear the server apologizing for the delay to another table that came in after us. Apparently the slow, disorganized service was normal for this night. I truly feel bad for any other customers who visit this restaurant tonight. The check arrived and the meal that I sent back was still on the bill. It seemed as though there wasn’t any experienced front of house staff. After the staff deliberated about how to fix it we were presented with an adjusted check.
