Roberto's Del Mar Reviews
We always love hitting up Roberto's before the beach. Ordering in the app is a breeze. And every now and then we get rewards for free food or drinks. Most of the time the food is on point! Every now and then the A-team isn't working but it's still good. Definitely a go-to spot.
After first discovering this spot through a DoorDash order, I was impressed enough by their California Burrito to make a return visit in person—and I’m glad we did. This time, my daughter and I got to enjoy the food fresh off the grill, and it was even better than we remembered. I went with the California Burrito again, loaded with extra carne asada and chipotle sauce, while my daughter opted for the Arizona Burrito—a Cali-style wrap with grilled chicken instead. Both were absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. The only real challenge was finding parking during the busy lunch rush, but the warm, friendly service from the two ladies at the counter and the incredible flavor of the food made it worth every bit of effort. If you’re in the area and craving a satisfying burrito, this is definitely the place to go.
It’s been years since I’ve been here, but I used to come almost every day after surfing. The food is AMAZING, and fresh, flavorful, and delicious! Service was great as well. One small suggestion: a sign showing where the line starts would be helpful since there are three entrances. We tried the Cali burrito, Carne Asada burrito, and chips with salsa, everything was fantastic. I’ll definitely be recommending this spot after a Torrey Pines hike or a surf session!
Solid Mexican food in the border right by the beach. Thought the pork in the taco was a bit dry but solid flavor and the salsa was great - they also have quite a few options to choose from. Note that while the tacos are quite pricey, they’re also massive so 2 tacos are enough for a meal. There’s definitely a bit of a line around lunchtime but service is pretty quick.
Roberto’s taco was 3/5 for me when it came to the California burrito. It’s gonna just be me sour cream and cheese with no extra frills. I wasn’t disappointed, but it wasn’t the best burrito ever had. My friend highly recommends the hash brown breakfast burrito. There is plenty of space to sit down and eat. There is a communal bathroom for a few of the restaurants in this complex.
Lovely location. Always had been. No bargains on the food, but wildly consistent. Yummy hot sauce. An interesting vestage of one of the classic Roberto's of the late 1980's .
Busy Saturday at 12:30 lunchtime and it took 15 minutes from the time I placed my order until they called my number to pick up my egg & cheese burrito. Too long. I was able to find a seat to enjoy my lunch. Crowded but that’s often the case at Roberto’s. Fortunately a street parking spot opened up as I was arriving. As soon as I pulled out somebody else snagged it.
Great seating facing Torrey pines and friendly staff. They have delicious breakfast, lunch and in between food. The cheese in my enchiladas was not melted but it was still yummy. House made salsas are tasty, especially the salsa verde. Parking is a little tricky when busy. Definitely coming back here!
I have not been to a Roberto's in 40 years. I stopped by this place for some chicken rolled tacos. We used to get 5 for $1 back in the day. Now you get 5 for $9.00. Everything else is a la carte. The food is consistent and the service was good. This place is near Torrey Pines State Beach and seemed extremely popular.
Service was good, not that much parking available but that’s normal in this area. We tried this place out since there were a lot of positive reviews and a long line however the food is subpar. The burritos had no flavor. The California burrito we got was not even heated all the way through and was served cold. The hashbrown burrito was the normal egg and bacon however it was not seasoned as well. It was ok. Not bad but way too overhyped. We don’t recommend
I really wanted to like this place, but its just an overpriced tourist trap. Burritos are small, bland, and way too expensive. The parking is bad. The only perk of this place is the view during the day. Other than that, just don't go here. I think Kotija Jr is way better and only a 5 minute drive from here.
Roberto's Mexican food was an overall disappointment to me. I must say though, I had excellent customer service from a young man there but my friend was not treated as well by the next cashier. I ordered a fish burrito that had a VERY overcooked super thin partially dried out breaded fish filet inside an overcooked and partially dried tortilla. I also had a horchata drink that was the worst watered-down horchata I've ever had from a Mexican food place. They don't offer free condiments like pickled carrots and jalapenos like other Mexican fast food places do. It’s $3 for a small baggie. I was there with friends so I didn't return my food which I would have had I had more time being there on my own. For what I had, the prices were ridiculous.
