LUNE Dennis Port Reviews
November 2025: we enjoyed the chef's menu dinner. sitting at the chef's table always adds a layer to the experience, as I enjoy watching the chefs creating the dishes. I liked the dishes, every one was innovative, with many layers of flavors. My favorite dish today was bay scallops. If there was anything that I would have liked to change would be saltiness of sauces, they were just a little salty for me. I also enjoyed that the owner introduced the chefs by name before the dinner. They did a great job! We will be back.
So lucky to have gotten in on the waitlist. Charlotte & Mick Formichella & their lovely team present a welcoming tasting menu and wine pairing that are expertly crafted and timed, beautiful, and perfectly balanced in flavor and texture (even for those of us who are gluten free)! Thank you so much for being our top dining experience on the Cape.
Excellent experience. Dining is small and large plates (tapas style) meant to be shared. The restaurant recommends ordering you selections up front and they will pace the delivery, which worked well for us. The plate choices change regularly based upon ingredient availability and season. The chef's creations are wonderful. There wasn't a plate we didn't enjoy. The selection of wines were primarily European and paired well with the food. Staff was very attentive and interactive.
Nov 2025: Lune is easily the best restaurant in Massachusetts. It's an eight course prix fixe, service compris, meal. We sat at the chefs counter where you can see the meal prepared. We enjoyed every course. I've included a photo of the menu so I won't go into detail here but I'd say the highlights were the beef tartare, the Brewster oyster and the bay scallops.
Dined here for the tasting menu in August. Really incredible experience - service was top notch while still feeling home-y. Love a menu and experience that feels thoughtful without being too frilly and unrelatable. Tomato salad was the star of the show followed closely by the scallop mousse stuffed squash blossom. Both were really great examples of using simple quality ingredients and treating them in unique ways. Wine pairing was well worth it and absolutely elevated some of the dishes.
Phenomenal! My wife and I had the pleasure of dining at Lune during our annual trip to the Cape, and it was nothing short of extraordinary. Living in the DC area, we’re fortunate to experience some of the best restaurants in the world — yet Lune managed to surpass them all. From the very first spoonful of the exquisite mushroom soup to the final bite of the delicate strawberry mille-feuille, every course was a masterclass in flavor, balance, and presentation. The wine pairings were equally impressive, thoughtfully selected to complement each dish and highlight ingredients from around the globe. This was, without question, our best meal of 2025 — a culinary journey so refined and memorable that it deserves a Michelin star. For anyone visiting New England, Lune is an absolute must. Treat yourself; you won’t find a better dining experience anywhere.
Having spent many summers in Cape Cod and explored the dining scene, we’ve had our fair share of great meals, but Lune in Dennis is in a league of its own. This restaurant has quickly become our top choice, completely outshining even the best the Cape has to offer. The food at Lune is nothing short of spectacular. Every dish we tried was crafted with incredible attention to detail, from the freshness of the ingredients to the precision in cooking. The flavors are thoughtfully combined and executed with finesse, easily comparable to some of the finest meals we’ve had in New York City. It’s rare to find such a high level of culinary skill in a cozy, local spot. Speaking of cozy, the atmosphere at Lune is just perfect. It’s warm and inviting, striking a wonderful balance between casual comfort and a refined elegance. The staff couldn’t have been more welcoming. Their friendliness and attentiveness made us feel right at home, enhancing our dining experience even further. What’s more, the prices at Lune are very reasonable for the quality of food and service you receive. It’s a place where you feel you’re getting incredible value, which is always a pleasant surprise. We can’t wait to return next summer—and probably more than once. If you’re looking for an exceptional meal on the Cape, Lune should be at the top of your list.
Had a wonderful experience at Lune. Was able to book a last minute reservation. Small restaurant, tasting-menu. Friendly service, great food. Sample menu attached. The halibut was my favorite, followed by the BLT.
Lune is a fantastic experience from start to finish. The wine pairings were exceptional (and introduced us to new German wine) and the food was among the best we’ve had in cape cod. The portions were perfectly sized for a prix fixe. We also appreciated the music diversity, from polo & pan to tribe. Will definitely be back!
I don’t hand out 5* reviews often - and I’d give 10 stars if I could. After our second round of dining here I decided to write up a review! Lune is a true culinary gem that masterfully combines sophistication with the natural beauty of the Cape. From the moment you walk in, you’re met with an ambiance that feels both upscale and warmly welcoming—perfectly suited for a memorable night out or a special occasion. The menu showcases the best of New England’s seasonal flavors with a creative twist, bringing locally-sourced seafood, meats, and produce to life in beautifully crafted dishes. Every course feels thoughtfully designed, with flavor combinations that surprise and delight without overpowering the fresh, clean taste of the ingredients. Are the dishes perfect? No, because perfection is subjective. The only constructive criticism we can come up with is to add more sweet potato purée to the duck breast dish. Service is impeccable, with staff (often you’re served by the owners) who are attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely enthusiastic about their food and wine. Their wine selection is also excellent, offering options that perfectly complement each dish. The staff is happy to provide recommendations, which really adds to the experience, especially if you’re unsure of where to start. Dining at Lune is more than just a meal; it’s a full experience that celebrates the essence of Cape Cod’s culinary heritage in a refined, intimate setting. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, Lune is one of those rare places that you’ll remember long after the evening ends. It’s definitely worth a visit be more!
Lune is amazing! Every restaurant tries to be unique and delicious, but it’s hard to be both at the same time. Lune succeeds brilliantly. Our meal was so good, I was stunned. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough! I wish I could give this restaurant 6 stars!!
Run, don’t walk to this amazing new spot on Cape Cod! We had an incredible experience at Lune. The decor is a perfect blend of hip and cozy, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The owners are fantastic hosts, and the food is ridiculously delicious and thoughtfully prepared. Lune offers an a la carte menu on Wednesdays and Sundays from 5pm to 10pm (no reservations needed) and a tasting menu on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays with seatings at 5:00pm and 7:30pm. This place is a must-visit for anyone looking for a unique culinary experience on the Cape. We can't wait to return!
Lune is spectacular. I am so happy this place exists on Cape. The food is fresh and vibrant, imaginative and delicious! Everything about the experience was wonderful. Biodynamic wines, family farm grown ingredients and house made bread, not to mention the diversity in the dishes. A new, exciting take on local fare. And on top of it all the owners are gems. We enjoyed the tasting menu one night, and on a second visit enjoyed the À la carte menu. Lune is not to be missed!
Lune is an ode to the hospitality industry. The passion for food, wine, and service - second to none. What an honor to take up a seat in this restaurant!
I've been in the fine dining industry for almost 15 years... Seldom have I had a dining experience such as this one in which I will never forget. Thanks for a night my girlfriend and I will remember forever! Can't wait to return during my next stay on the Cape!
We had an exquisite dinner with wine pairing at Lune last night. Beautifully plated, inventive locavore cuisine and carefully selected wines made the experience delightful. Dining elevated to this level is unusual in a major city, let alone a charming little town. Chef Mick and chef Jon have created an exceptional, artistic menu and venue that is sure to please the most discriminating palates. Go ahead, treat yourself to an evening with them.
Such a refreshing (and innovative) addition to the lower Cape dining scene. Welcome Lune! The food is incredible, service warm, approachable, and knowledgeable, the wine list refreshingly creative, and this dessert… If you know, you know! This will quickly become one of the toughest tables in the area to book, so try them soon. Sitting at the chef’s counter is a special treat. Who doesn’t love dinner and a show ;)
Open only 4 weeks when we visited, you'd never know it because the food, service, ambiance and experience surpassed anything else I've had on Cape. The 6 course tasting menu was built impeccably and each course is paired to perfection with unique and delicious wine. From the initial warming sip of the mushroom horseradish and black garlic consommé all the way to the dessert of slow roasted strawberries over tea ice cream, every course was exciting. That's the only word I can find...every dish excited us with distinctive flavors (foie gras on an oyster?!?!). This is not for those in a rush. Expect to spend two and a half hours as you experience the magnificent, unique flavors from the kitchen along with wines you would never pick on your own. The husband and wife owners have created something really special and I can't wait to go back and try their next menu!
Absolutely incredible! We just happened by on our way to Ocean House as walk-ins. Instead, we turned back around and happened into Lune. Met by Charlotte, (owner/wife part of team). The welcome, service and food were spot on. Right up there with one of the best cooked and served meals we have ever had. Best hopes and wishes for these folks, ( Mick is the chef ) who are giving us their dream of this incredible restaurant. (Rt28 Dennis across from Barbo’s) 5/30/24
Very cozy local restaurant. Great service and food is amazing. The steak frites are so delicious. Great place for a date.
Truly a wonderful experience. The only photo I took was of the desert, as my eyes were closed savoring every moment. From the beurre blanc, to the smoked feta finishing with a nectarine lemon verbena. Outstanding, thank you again Charlotte and Mick. After our meal this evening, the wife and I will be back in October for our Anniversary.
What an amazing place and wonderful experience! Ate here in vacation in the cape and I will be talking about this dinner for the rest of my life!!
Great place for a good meal. Service was excellent!
LUNE in Dennis Port, Cape Cod, is an absolute gem! From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by a warm and inviting ambiance that sets the perfect tone for an unforgettable dining experience. The attention to detail in both the decor and service is impeccable. The stracciatella was a delightful start to the meal, creamy and full of flavor, a true testament to the freshness of the ingredients. Acompanied by perfectly ripe local melon, it tasted of a late summer night's dream. The highlight for me was the Strip Steak "Frites"—simply incredible! The steak was cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful, with each bite showcasing the skill and execution of the kitchen. The "Frites" had a perfectly golden and crisp exterior, while light and delicate inside, and paired perfectly with the steak, making it a dish that I can't wait to enjoy again. The service at LUNE was top-notch, with every staff member going above and beyond to ensure a fantastic dining experience. If you're looking for a restaurant that delivers on all fronts—delicious food, great atmosphere, and exceptional service—LUNE is the place to be. Highly recommend!
Lune is a special place on the Cape. Serving exquisite and well conceived culinary dishes. It’s a great change of pace from typical restaurants. The stuffed squid was so wonderful. It’s worth a meal here. Wonderful wine list and passionate staff delivering a pleasant experience.
WOW, WOW, WOW! Do NOT miss this locally hidden gem of a dining experience while you're on the Cape or if you're local. Chef Mick has an impeccable pallet which shines though in his dishes and co-owner Charlotte has the most well curated wine/caviar list I've seen in a long time. Very refreshing spot!
Full disclosure, these two are family. However, having been in the foodservice biz my whole life, I may have strong opinions. Both Mick and Charlotte have incredible and varied work experience both locally and all over the country. The food, service and wine selection at Lune is outstanding. As well, the value and quality of their tasting menu with wine pairing is like no other. Honored to be in the Lune Orbit. Mom & Fill in Dish Suds Technician
The food - oh my goodness. We had two small plates And then two dinner plates. Outstanding. Each dish was exceptional. Mick and Charlotte and their staff are positive , personable and very professional. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
Wonderful service, food and ambiance. Mick and Charlotte were absolutely gracious in making our 45th wedding anniversary memorable. The Monkfish Wellington was to die for. Now we're planning our return to Dennis for our 50th with a clear vision of where to go.
The perfect meal - start to finish! We got oysters, scallop cru, steak tartare, duck and littlenecks - all perfectly cooked and seasoned. I wish I could have eaten more but I filled up so I guess I’ll have to come back!
The best dining experience we have had in the Cape! An incredible place through and through! Every menu item is exquisitely curated, fresh, flavorful and unique. The atmosphere is so chic and the staff go above and beyond to make your experience special. All very knowledgeable and helped guide us through the menu. A must-go for everyone’s cape list!
My fiancé and her family enjoyed an incredible evening at Lune yesterday. The atmosphere and six course tasting menu were incredible. The wine pairing was thoughtfully picked and paired with the food perfectly. If you are in the Cape area and looking for a special evening Lune should be on the top of your list. Thank you so much Charlotte and Mick, you guys have an amazing little gem with Lune!
What a surprize! This was an incredible dining experience. First class all the way. The food was wonderful. Each course was exciting to get and the flavors, textures and taste balanced perfectly. So fortunate to have such a brilliant chef on Cape Cod. A must try for anyone.
The food was exceptional. The chef’s creations are not only delicious but inspired and inventive. The wine pairings were perfect with some esoteric selections that were fun and fantastic. The pacing was perfect, which I can find to be a challenge with a lot of tasting menus. The vibe was immaculate…I got giddy when I realized my crudo w/ caviar was paired w/ The Grateful Dead. As a restaurant owner, I can usually find at one little petty critique, but not here. Zero notes.
Ive said it once, and I’ll say it again! Lune is the most romantic restaurant on the Cape. From the moment you walk in, you're transported to a thoughtful and intimate space, you can’t help but feel like you’ve scored a seat to an extra special experience (You have..) I love the menu Chef Mick dreams up. The food is delicious and unapologetically true to the Cape, or so the “Ratatouille”- like-flash back i had, made me believe, because to be honest- im from Los Angeles. The service is absolutely out of this world good. Chalotte’s expertise shines in the details. I am so excited i have gotten to experience Lune TWICE! I hope everyone gets to visit the incredible team at Lune. The End.
I almost don't want to review because I selfishly want to keep this place to myself. If I could give 6 stars, I would. They nailed everything: reservation, service, food, atmosphere. Went here for a fancy date night on a Sunday for the a la carte option. We reserved the lobster thermidor as a special, which was incredible. We ordered 4 small dishes and 2 large dishes. It was a little too much food (could've done just 1 large or 3 smalls). We were so full we almost didn't get dessert, but the options were too enticing. The almond tart was INSANE. Every dish was beautiful and so flavorful. Probably the best meal we've ever had. I really liked that the experience was fancy, but didn't feel stuffy. The staff were very friendly, and it was fun to watch the chefs cook! We will definitely be back many times.
Lune is not to be missed. From the cozy atmosphere to the outstanding staff- if you are wanting an incredible experience, GO. The food is thoughtfully curated, beautifully presented and prepared with the finest ingredients. As you relax in the casual yet elegant atmosphere, you will be treated like an old friend. Multiple servers checked in perfect intervals on our experience, wanting nothing more than for us to have a perfect evening. We did. I will be back many times.
I usually dislike tasting menus, because they tend to be too fussy and pretentious. Not here - no unnecessary flourishes nor overly gushing servers - just really great food and comfortable pace and clarity on the menu and servers descriptions. The food is balanced - within a dish the components are complementary or appropriately contrasting. Plus the menu is balanced in sensory properties - eye appeal, aroma, flavor and texture. We did not enjoy the wine pairing with each course. Based on the food experience we will try the wine pairing as well - next time. There will be a next time and soon.
What a find! A converted garage with a fabulous hosting team. The food is French focused and truly outstanding. Loved it for both, the gastronomy and atmosphere.
Might be the best meal on the Cape right now - delicious food, nuanced and with fresh ingredients, paired with a locked in wine list and excellent service. Definitely try the duck and the foie tarte.
I've been to Lune twice, and the second time (fall 2025) was even more impressive than the first (Spring 2025). The menus were catered to the seasonal produce and flavors. I live in the Boston area and Lune competes with / exceeds the quality of any of the Boston / Camberville area's best restaurants. Highly recommend!
This is a fantastic culinary experience that I Highly recommend to any gourmet connoisseur to try. We have been there twice, and I am excited to get there next year ASAP. Everything is an absolute art dish which makes me dream when back. Super exceptional restaurant, people and atmosphere. One positive challenge very difficult to get reservations. Life is good at Lune in Dennis - enjoy it for once you will be hooked forever. Thanks Andrei
Exceptional food and service. The dishes were well thought out, fresh, and delicious. The service was outstanding, everyone on the team worked so well together and everything flowed perfectly. The beet salad and duck frites were the best we had ever had.
Had a very good dinner here! My family and I had high expectations and were satisfied with what we ordered. Although there weren’t any dishes in particular that WOWed us, we still had an enjoyable meal and would come back. The space is small and cozy, so it was a bit warm. The menu changes regularly, but our favorite dish was probably the littleneck clams. We passed on dessert since we were full—no leftovers!! See more of my reviews at @alexissokson on IG or AlexEats500 on YouTube!
Food is delightful and beautifully presented. Four stars because we were seated at the counter which should not be something expected of diners paying $200+ meal. It is not possible to request to have a table. Hard to have a conversation in our party of three.
Expected far better than what we were served. Menu was exceptionally limited and the wine list needs a lot of help. Great atmosphere and the waitress was wonderful. Owners should spend more time catering to their new customers opposed to fawning over their friends.
The restaurant itself is so cute and love the open kitchen. Staff was lovely and the food was great. We recommend the duck, the sourdough and mostly all the small plates we got were really good. The gnocchi were a bit off, just felt like eating really dry bites of baked mashed potatoes and was missing a sauce. But overall loved it and I'd go back! 🕯️✨ the music was tasteful.
I am very late with this review, we ate at Lune in June of this year, but here goes! I have lived in Dennis Port for a few years and I am so thrilled that a restaurant of this caliber has opened here. We were so excited to dine there and went all in with the tasting menu and full wine pairing. Regretfully, we did leave feeling underwhelmed and disappointed. The setting is gorgeous and the staff all lovely and attentive (a little too attentive sometimes as we were asked for our menu/wine selection by three different people!) The Foie Gras tarte and the oyster were the highlights, and the sourdough divine, all dishes beautifully presented. However, the other dishes were mediocre and the “main” duck was not good at all. The duck, along with a couple of other dishes, felt inchoate: it just wasn’t quite at the level anticipated or, frankly, at the price point charged. I am all for a new restaurant experimenting and joining them on the journey, but when a meal for two costs $500+, I kind of expect things to be pretty flawless. The wine too needed some help. At first glance I was thrown by the “sommelier’s choice”. It was giving “we bought too many cases of this and need to get rid”, and honestly, that’s how the pairing came off. A couple of really nice wines (the Cava, the Retsina) and a couple of quite bad ones, if I’m being honest (sommelier’s choice, for one). The sever, too, was really not up to discussing it much, which was disappointing. She said she was a level 1 sommelier but couldn’t identify the main river in the wine region where 3 of the 6 wines came from. She couldn’t get away from the table fast enough. I don’t want to be mean, and again, I am so very happy that Lune is open and wish them all the best, but I really do feel that the quality was not up to the standard set by the price point. I wavered between 3 and 4 stars but ultimately, as there were more than a couple of things amiss, I went with 3.
Beautiful setting and food was good, but overall disappointed. They charge Michelin star prices for food that is nowhere near Michelin standard. Also quite poor knowledge about the wine being served; servers could not answer quite basic questions about the wine pairings and one of the owners was also quite cagey about the wine - very odd! EDIT: In response to owner comment, the reservation was under my partner’s name so hence you wouldn’t be able to find me. I will email but I’m not looking for anything, just sharing my experience.
Very disappointing for both service and food. Our reservation was for 6 pm, co-owner told us it was for 6:30 pm and she would "make it up to us" and to "go get a drink at another restaurant". After we left, we received an OpenTable email that our reservation was changed to 6:30 pm and then 6:45 pm. When we arrived, we were seated at the counter rather than a table! We made the reservations 60 days in advance and it was their mistake and they lied and said they didn't make the change. And nothing was done to "make it up to us". Food was mediocre at best. Bread and butter was too salty, clams came from a can and while the steak tartare was good, there were more potato chips than anything else. Mussels were nothing special, had better mussels many other places, including a pub. Really wanted to love it given the great reviews - don't understand the hype - and still upset about the entire experience. Oh and had to spend an additional $35 for drinks at another restaurant in addition to the $180 at Lune.
