Yummys Greek Cafe Denton Reviews
Best Greek food I've ever had in my g d life. The hummus tastes like love and the fried cauliflower changed my stance on not-liking-cauliflower. Sweet mom and pop place, I will be going there again... maybe tomorrow... and the next day...
This is a must try place. Do you want the best gyro ever! Then go get one. Do you want the most delicious fried egg plant. This is your place. Want to try something different. They have the best falafel sandwich. I would 100% recommend this place to everyone and anyone! ❤️
Definitely aptly named! Everything was fresh and delicious, my son proclaimed the chicken to be "the best and most juiciest he's ever had", so that says it all. Also the baklava is heavenly. We will definitely be back.
This is the best gyro place ever! The Gyro deluxe is our favorite and we will definitely would go out of our way just to get Greek food from here! It seems family owned and they care about their quality and clientele, 10/10 recommended
I ate dinner here last night and came back for lunch here today, it is so good and fresh, great service, lots of delicious options. Very high quality ingredients. Their Greek salad, gyros, and hummus are top notch greatness. My wife was also able to order a delicious dish without dairy as she has an allergy which is a huge plus!
A "hole in the wall" in the best way possible. Such good folks, and such good food. We love the Greek Feast. A little bit over everything and every bite is somehow better than the next.
Small, unassuming hole in the wall with absolutely delightful pita and gyro. Stop in and get a gyro sandwich and you will be very happy with yourself. It's super filling too.
We have been searching for a good Greek restaurant and believe we finally found it. The food was amazing, was reasonably priced, but the staff took it to another level. My son chose this restaurant for his birthday dinner and it did not disappoint. It looks like a small, family run restaurant and they take pride in everything they do. From the extra care they took to listen that my wife was contemplating the eggplant to showing true heart when we had to come back for my son's Limoncello mascarpone just blew me away. I've heard that there were nice people in the world, but I was literally speechless. Thank you for restoring my faith in humanity.
I’ve been coming here for most of my life and have wonderful memories eating this food with various loved ones for over 3 decades. The food has remained delicious and consistent. The owner is lovely and attentive, his staff quick and efficient. Denton wouldn’t be Denton without Yummy’s!!!
Nice, homey, SMALL little café type restaurant. The owner was outstanding in accommodating our party's various requests and excelled in taking charge of our indecisiveness - he suggested we first talk about what we wanted for our main course plates and worked backwards to choose our appetizers! Very much appreciated his help. The entire staff was friendly and tried hard to make sure we were well taken care of. We'll be back. Thank you so much.
Tasty food, affordable price. We went there and ordered two of the specials (special 3 and 5 as far as I remember). Both of these were very tasty and fresh. The price seemed also reasonable. They are warm and cordial people. The environment is calm, well decorated. Service was promt.
Classic, quick casual gyros!! This is the kind of place you want to get a gyro from - hole in the wall with an owner operator that's friendly and cares about customers. Portions are perfect and you cannot beat the price. I LOVE the specials - gyro, hummus w/ pita, and fried zucchini for $9.99 (there are many combinations available). The places in my area are around $17 for a gyro, fries, and drink. I would certainly be a weekly regular if I were closer.
I read a few negative reviews on here, some inventively hurtful making claims suggesting this restaurant was less than clean. Other reviews were from some supposed "experienced" folks insisting the food was not up to par. We visited this delightful restaurant today, mainly because of their BYOB policy but we have been hankering for a delicious Gyro for some time now. Although we usually wait to visit a restaurant at least three times at random times during the da before we give our opinion, I decided to submit a review today due to our overwhelming delight, not only with the excellent food, the kindness and professionalism of the staff, but as well as the uber cleanliness of the restaurant. We ordered three platters, the first two at approximately 10 dollars, and the last at approximately 20 dollars. The platters ordered were the Chicken Souvlaki, the #1 special which consisted of a Gyro, Hummus, 2 Dolmas , and rice, and a sample platter which consisted of different types of meat, Tzatziki sauce, hummus, Dolmas, falafel, rice and pita bread. We have eaten at some outstanding Lebanese and Greek restaurants in the United States and Canada and will suggest that Yummys definitely lives up to its hype. All platters were fresh and flavorful but the pita bread was super delicious. We did leave with the idea that all platters were definitely worth every penny. Although our rating could change depending on where the Yummy's staff takes us on our subsequent visits, at this time we give this restaurant 4 stars and reserve the last for a future review. We rate this restaurant as outstanding and recommend you visit if not for any of their delicious platters but at least for a delicious Gyro with your own choice of beer. You won't leave disappointed. UPDATE: We made another trip to Yummy's Greek Restaurant and have updated our rating to 5 Stars. Again, we were not disappointed. We had the same great service and quality. This particular time, we even got to use their facilities which requires one to walk right through their tiny, clean and immaculate kitchen. The restroom although needing an update, was very clean and comfortable. This time around we sampled the fried eggplant. It was a nice surprise as it was very delicious. It is my new favorite. I've uploaded additional photos of other specials all included a GYRO..
We were in town and decided to try this Greek place. We liked our food. They have a lot of combos you can choose from. It was pretty busy, but the food came quickly and the staff was friendly. They had some items I have not seen in other Greek restaurants too. We would definitely stop by again.
My wife and I tried out Yummy's for the first time tonight. Not an overly large place, but the food is great. I got the #1 and she got the #5. Both were generously sized, and all items were quite flavorful. The gyros were very tasty, as well as the fried cauliflower and stuffed grape leaves. Will definitely come back again.
Typical gyro shop with a adequate inside seating. I've been looking for a solid gyro shop since leaving Chicago. I did not realize they had specials until I arrived at the restaurant and was informed by the friendly cashier. Although the specials were cheaper than the normal fare (about 12 USD for special #5 with a water cup), I was left peckish after eating it. There were only two fried cauliflower included in special #5. The gyro felt like a half sandwich. Having said that, the amount of food could be due to inflation/increased costs, so I do not fault the restaurant completely. Definitely will try the gyro dinner next time.
Just recently tried this restaurant for this first time, and let's just say I was more than dissapointed. I got an order of cauliflower that cost $5, just to open the container to see a few pieces. The portion size for the price was not worth it. I also ordered humus tahini and i received also a small amount of hummus for the price, the presentation was ehh lol just look at the pictures. Their falafels were okay, they were a little greasier than what I'm used to. The food tasted ok, it wasn't completely bad but really overpriced for what you're getting. Overall I will not be eating here again.
