Mario & Salvo's Pizza DeWitt Reviews
Been a longtime customer but wanted to leave this note. We ordered delivery on Friday night July 21st 2023. We live on a large hill with a lot of steps. The delivery person not only brought the whole order up the stairs, but he also saw that we had an infant and brought the baby stroller up as well. Top notch service. The folks are the best.
The closest to NYC/Jersey you will come by(probably better, to be honest) for pizza. The amazing cooks are always down to talk football and roast my team(Go Birds). I live 12 miles away and will go out of my way every time to grab a few slices.
This place won best pizza in Syracuse some number of years back, and it's no wonder. The place is nothing much to look at, but the pizza is really good. Thin, NY style pizza with a flavorful sauce, and quality ingredients. The owners are always on site, making pies and food along with the very busy staff. I will go out of my way specifically to order and pickup pizza from them because it is just so good! Highly reccomended!
Grandma's pizza is a good change up for pizza in the area. Plain cheese is a classic go to. Gotta fold those slices!
Rolled in to pick up my order on a Friday night and Mario and Salvos is a hopping place with no less than a dozen employees in what appears to be a highly choreographed hustle of taking orders, moving tall stacks of pizza boxes, and constantly loading or unloading or turning pizzas in their ovens. There is a reason for that, the pizza is great!
Went for the first time for a couple of slices and haven't enjoyed pizza like this in over 30 years. This is classic pizza in a classic pizza shop, great dough, and seasoned just right. These guys know what they're doing!
Consistently good pizza, try the garlic it's fantastic
The pizza is outstanding. The sauce doesn't have quite the saltiness that I look for, but it more than makes up for it with herbal and mineral flavors. The real star is the dough. It's aromatic, crispy, and just a little bit chewy, especially in the crust. I like a little more gluten in my dough, but rational minds could disagree about the ideal chewiness for dough, so this is no demerit. This is like pizza you'd get in Noho or Little Italy in NYC. The shop experience is great. The owners were present and running a tight ship. They bantered with staff and guests. I'll definitely return for another slice. EDIT: I stayed in the shop working on my laptop for a while and ended up getting another slice. This one was straight out of the oven and was even better. First, it was slightly cheesier--just natural variation between pies, but it brought a little extra richness and salt to the party. And maybe it was my imagination or maybe it was the extra hour of proofing, but the dough was chewier. Great slice.
Always the freshest and best tasting pizza in town. It's a great balance of crust, sauce, and toppings. I love getting the broccoli pizza with white sauce and ricotta. The thick crust pizza option is yummy too. Oh, and don't forget the eggplant sub with peppers, onions, and garlic.
Had mushroom and pepperoni slices. Great pizza dough and nice crusty bottom from the oven. Love mushroom anywhere I good just my personal favorite. Pepperoni wasn't as greasy because it didn't have the same effect upon the cheese blend that is used here. Liked the service and gave me a free cup with my bottle drink. Coke products at the fountain.
Got off the plane and looked up “one bite” Dave’s reviews. This was tied for the best in the area. The is by far the best pizza in the area. Service is great, too. If you want to go to a place that is a local favorite, this is it - it’s obvious the owner and customers are familiar with each other.
I moved upstate from Long Island 3 years ago and have been looking for decent pizza and have failed miserably until now! This pizza rivals the best I've had ever. It's an hour drive from my house but will be worth the trip.
We had slices of their thin crust cheese pizza and also their much thicker pan pizza ( like a focaccia) both were quite good but if I had the choice I'd go with the traditional thin one. Crispy and tasty crust with nice cheese and sauce and I think some light seasoning. Highly recommended. The owners and staff are friendly and attentive.
We ordered through the Slices app. Said the delivery time would be 55+ minutes. They arrived within 30 minutes. The pizza was not only delicious for just a plain cheese the wings were cooked perfect as well. Not to crispy but definitely cooked all the way through. Perfect! Definitely recommend!!!
Best pizza around . Family friendly and great staff
Couple of slices and some hot wings! Reminds me of Old school, New York style place love it!
Absolutely top three pizzerias in syracuse. 1 in an authentic atmosphere. I say that because of the mix of generations that make up the staff over there. As you wait for some of the tastiest Italian food to be prepared you see young kids learning from the old school about serving customers, working in a face pace, and very busy environment. The food is amazing, and the price point is still very good. Swing in,it will be on your go-to list in the future.
What a great place. Have been going there for years. Always quality food, the latest pizza I got was to die for. The girl who took my order, I think her name was Kaylie, was so nice and helpful. Keep up the great work!
Any time my travels bring me to Dewitt, I go out of my way to stop and at least get 2 slices. I have to pass many other places, restrain myself from giving in to lackluster food. The reward is delicious pizza. Great people. Don't hesitate, try it. Trust me.
I have tried many pizza places and I was very impressed with this place. The pizza was perfectly crispy and cheesy. I would go back here every time I am in the area. The staff is very friendly and attentive. It does get busy but there is no excessive wait. Highly recommend 👌
These nice people have one really good thing going for them -- hands down, they have best Pizza in the Syracuse area. I understand they're from The Bronx, which is why they serve the best -- NYC Style Pizza. The crust is just right, never burnt, the cheese is thick and perfectly melted and the sauce is tangy. Of greatest importance for real NYC Style Pizza is the abundance of Mozzarella Cheese, which they have down pat, plus just the right amount of tangy sauce, and a nice thin crust. I always wind up complimenting them on their Pizza. Most of the Pizza joints in Syracuse serve burnt cardboard with weak sauce and not enough cheese. OIP is especially bad, I mean just awful. I've been asked, who makes the best Pizza in Syracuse, and I always say, "Try Mario & Salvo's and you can't go wrong." And ya can't. They also make great ..., well everything on their menu is pretty good. It almost makes me feel home. Now if only I could find a genuine NY Bagel, or better yet, a Kosher Deli that serves Kosher Hot Dogs....
I’ve lived in other places besides Syracuse NY. Whenever I’m not in Syracuse I can’t seem to find good food, especially pizza and wings. As a person born and raised in Syracuse, I just have to have the best pizza and wings. Mario’s is my favorite pizza shop ever!
It's an unassuming small shop, with 70s-80s style seating. The decor is very low-key, not overwhelming, and simplistic. The atmosphere is calm...you've walked into another time zone. The folks who work there are actually Italian, and you can watch them working on the dough. Even the cash register on the front counter is frozen in time. The pizza is hot and fresh. More importantly, it doesn't give you GI problems like most pizza joints do. I don't know what ingredients they're using, but they're clearly top tier. A visit to Mario and Salvo's is a sacred experience that is not to be missed.
Stopped in to pick up lunch for Mother's Day while visiting my mom in the area. The pizza was amazing! On top of that the service was great and friendly! (Thank you for the cookie for my kid as well.) We will be back!
It's primarily a carryout place, it does have seating but I didn't see anyone dining in,most people were waiting for to go orders. GREAT pizza! Friendly and helpful staff.
Always so, so, so good. Usually our first meal when arriving in Syracuse. Good dough, good sauce, good toppings all put together to make something extraordinary. Easily the best pizza in town! By the way, it’s really a takeout restaurant. They have a couple tables and chairs, but it’s best to order online or by phone, then go and pick it up. I saw in some reviews that others have had a problem with online ordering, but ours have always been perfect.
First time having it tonight the grandma's pie was outstanding 😋😋😋
Pizza and wings are SO good, but the customer service is above and beyond!
Sauce is top in the Syracuse area not as good as Ithaca options tho
Still EXCELLENT! I visited today and ordered a pizza to bring home; size small and was perfect for just myself; or two people. I haven't been in here in a few years and Mario was a neighbor of mine for several years. After reading the article 2 weeks ago and seeing Their place picked a a #1... needless to say, these two brothers continue to age well with their pizza making! Good to see nothings changed.
Best pizza in Syracuse! Try the Sicilian- it’s a square pizza with red sauce. The crust is thick and crispy and every slice is loaded with cheese.
I ordered pizzas from there for my daughter’s birthday a few weeks back. I was able to pre-order the day before and pay on my card. They delivered the pizzas on time and helped me carry them into the venue. They made everything so easy and stress free and every guest, children and adults, raved about the pizza. Couldn’t recommend enough.
Mario&Silvas is truly a destination spot.I stopped in today and the people at Mario and Salvos couldn’t be any nicer and more professional. Mario was there and gave me a very big hello. I believe it was his manager who took my order was so very patient with all the people that came in to pick up orders and also to put orders in. I ordered their meatball sandwich, which I have to tell you was spot on, the best meatball sandwich that I’ve eaten in the country. Period. Yes, I did say country, not county, as I’ve traveled extensively and have gone to countless number of pizza places through this great nation of ours. The bread was soft, I get my meatball sandwich not toasted, and the sauce was as my mother used to make it (as Gus has told me who’s Mario’s brother that the sauce is an old recipe from Mario and Gus’s grandmother) was so very rich and vibrant in its appearance. Last, but certainly not least was the girl who is Mario’s niece, prepared my meatball sandwich. A big shout out to her, thank you! No one couldn’t have done a better job of how the meatballs were in the sandwich with the right amount of sauce, the right amount of parmesan, I always get parmesan instead of mozzarella. The presentation on the plate was as if it was photoshopped to the 10th°. Please make this place a go to spot for you and your family. Enjoy!
Mario & Salvo's pizza is genuine NYC style pizza. Thin crust with delicious sauce. I usually just get a cheese pizza but I got the buffalo chicken one tonight & it was outstanding! Ordered somewhat late on Sunday night and I think the owner delivered it. I feel bad for making him deliver on a cold rainy night. Pizza was outstanding though!
Mario and Salvo’s did not disappoint! We ordered the Large Deluxe, and enjoyed every bite. Pizza like this does not exist in Charleston, SC, where we’re from. The highlight was enjoying the Euro Cup match with the guys there. It’s always nice to travel, and arrive at a place where it feels like home. See y’all next time and thanks for the cookie!
Our office has been ordering from Mario & Salvo's Pizzeria for quite awhile now but I keep forgetting to write a review since after I devour the pizza, I have to go back to work. When I'm home, I have time to write a review but unfortunately I live too far from the pizzeria for them to deliver. I just finished a slice of veggie pizza for breakfast today so it reminded me to write a review. I love the pizza here especially the thin, crispy crust. I'm not a fan of thicker crusts especially Sicilian. The pizza here always has a lot of flavor and the slices are the old-fashioned pie slices. Don't ask me why but that makes a difference in my book. It looks better and tastes better than when the pizza is cut into long strips. Not sure who started that! I haven't had anything on the menu other than pizza (yet) because I'm not in charge of ordering for our office but I will eventually order some wings to see how those are.
Friday night, the best chaos in such a crazy tuned major you've ever seen !! I don't mind if my order isn't ready. Tuck into a corner and watch !! People eating, people ordering, people coming, people going, pizza's in and out of the ovens, boxes flying about, zita getting sauced, knots heating up, small loaves warmed tossed into a paperbag..... and the smell !!! Those two old Italian ladies down the street that were always cooking something !!! Mario and Salvo's is an orchestra with too much caffeine !! But it works.
Great neighborhood corner pizza place. They are authentic. Make sure you try the Sicilian...
It was the last place I got to visit from being back in Kansas. It was the best pizza I have had in a long, long time real New York Pizza can’t wait to go back.
Best pizza in the cuse area by far! Highly recommend if you just want a couple of slices. Reminds me of back home in NYC.
There is no better original Italian pizza in Syracuse. I've been coming here since the 90s. It's the best and special props to Grandma Pie.
love love love this place!! i’ve never been disappointed - the pizza is delicious every single time. it’s a small area, with three medium sized tables and one counter looking out the window… but honestly, i think it adds to the atmosphere!! i come here all the time, and i think you should too!!
I've been enjoying this iconic pizza for nearly 25 years. Shame on me for not reviewing until now. I know zip about NYC pizza, but I do know good food, and this is it! Friendly, informal vibe (Gus puts my buffalo chicken slice in to heat when I walk in the door), efficient service, and absolutely fabulous pizza! Chewy, crisp crust, bold flavors, all fresh and homemade. Calzone is made to order, sausage is outstanding with proper hint of fennel, whole milk mozzarella, not an off note to be found. We're fortunate to have a local business to support.
We ate here twice while in town and it was equally delicious both times. Pizza was authentic NY pizza, and the meatball parm sub was tasty. Service was top notch as well. Would definitely recommend.
Holy moly!! This is the only place to enjoy a real pizza in Syracuse. Ordered at the counter, told them it was my first time there—got the full rundown—she recommended the “grandma” style crust. Took the rec and added ricotta, sausage, and red onion!! Pops garnished with basil and we were good to go a quick 20 min later. While we sat and waited it seemed like the whole town of Syracuse made their way through, picking up, grabbing slices, dining in. Great lively atmosphere on a rainy Thursday night :) P.S. the pizza tastes INSANELY delicious. Fresh sauce, scrumptious cheese mix, great sausage, beautiful ricotta… we’ll be back
This is definitely an authentic NY style pizza here in Upstate NY. Pizza and calzones are delicious. Pizza has great sauce and cheese in the correct proportions. It's simply great pizza. Service is always friendly. When you enter the restaurant, they tell you hello, how are you? And they smile. That is genuine friendliness. So we will go back again and again. Thank you.
If you’re searching for an authentic New York-style pizza experience outside the five boroughs, look no further than Mario & Salvo’s. This place absolutely nails what makes a proper NYC pie—thin, foldable crust with just the right amount of crisp, a perfect balance of tangy-yet-slightly-sweet sauce, and a generous layer of high-quality cheese that bubbles and browns just the way it should. Every bite transports you straight to a classic New York pizzeria. The crust has that ideal chew with a slight char, proving they know how to handle their dough. The sauce isn’t overpowered by herbs or sugar—just a clean, fresh tomato flavor that complements the cheese beautifully. And speaking of cheese, they don’t skimp. It melts into the sauce with that signature stretch you expect from a legit slice. Beyond the pizza, the atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and no-frills—exactly how a great pizza joint should be. Whether you’re grabbing a quick slice or taking home a full pie, Mario & Salvo’s will have you questioning whether you ever need to trek to NYC for pizza again. A must-try for any pizza lover!
Excellent pizza and great customer service from the owner and staff! The best pizza in the City of Syracuse, no gimmicks just great ingredients. I ordered a pie on Slice for a specific time and that pie was at my front door fresh out of the oven 10 minutes earlier than the delivery time. Best pie on the Eastside, hands down the competition doesn't even come close!
Low key atmosphere and great pizza. My boyfriend and I usually get slices and have tried a bunch - all have been great. Prices are also good. We just got 4 slices and a large drink to share and it came to $12 and change. You can tell its a family owned business, we will definitely be back!
This is the most highly recommended pizza place in Syracuse in my experience, so I had very high expectations. However, it took me a while to stop in simply because of the small parking lot, which requires a left-hand turn on a busy street. My advice is to park across the street in the Tops parking lot and walk across the street. Inside, it was lunch rush, but would likely feel crowded at any time because the entire place is extremely small. The tables and chairs are directly in the way since you must order on the right and then move to the left. There's barely any room to get to the right to place your order. As a vegetarian, I was happy to see several tempting options for slices, like a broccoli, and a garlic with tomato, which I tried both. I enjoyed both slices, but unfortunately, the extreme hype and high expectations left me wondering what I was missing. I wouldn't say go out of your way to get here because it's the best slice in town, but it's definitely very good.
Normally a fantastic pizza. Today, it is undercooked, the crust is chewy and not cooked thoroughly. I ordered pepperoni and sausage on the pizza, Toppings were thrown on the pizza and sausage only made it to half of the pizza. Contacted the shop and their solution was a $3 discount? Time to go back to Paladino’s. I wish I could upload a photo. UPDATE - The shop has since made things right and the quality is much better
Pizza was pretty good but had a bit of a doughy flavor on my plain cheese slice. Nothing seemed undercooked though, maybe just a preference of the dough flavor. I also had a sicilian slice that didn't have that taste and was very well seasoned! The staff seemed a bit annoyed that I didn't understand the lunch flow but otherwise great experience.
Pizza is great, service is inconsistent. First visit here, we ordered over the phone and the person kept stating the obvious and unnecessary, and sounded very rude and annoyed. Ordered half mushroom half cheese, were told the pizza already came with cheese. Ordered a large round cheese, were told they only come in round. We also ordered the Sicilian right after, which is ironically rectangular. Visited again recently, but walked in because I was already in the area. Young college age kids with an older gentleman that looked like maybe the owner. They were super busy but did a wonderful job with customer service and taking care of customers, even when they had a couple very demanding customers. Most importantly though, the pizza seems to be consistently great.
They make the best heroes around. We got an eggplant Parmesan and a meatball Parmesan hero and couldn't have been happier. The bread was toasted and not soggy, the filling perfect. The place is a small box of a room, not a restaurant to sit down at, hence the low atmosphere rating. This was our second visit and we'll be returning.
The food was good and big portions. Their menu consists of burgers sandwiches chicken wings mac salad, and drinks and a cooler. The atmosphere is very clean and eclectic, had many wall coverings with pictures and a large fork and spoon.
Parking lot is a little bit of a tight and awkward space, but the pizza is pretty good! It’s the closest I could find to NY style thin crust pizza, but not as cheap sadly. The cheese just melts in your mouth 😋 They are always very busy though, and the atmosphere seems very fast paced, but it kind of adds to the Italian charm of it.
We waited a long time for a Neapolitan pizza. Let's just get that out of the way to start here. Eventually, the gentleman who took our order approached our table to explain: The first pie came out "a little too black." He said that because it was our first time at the pizzeria, he didn't want to serve us that. So they put another one in for us. It was nice that he came over to apologize, and he took care of refills. I like the pizza quite a bit. It's definitely the kind you need to fold. So, authentic Neapolitan. Nice and oily. Not a perfect first impression, but I would certainly eat there again.
We have been long time customers but unfortunately our last 3 experiences have been sub par, including messing up our orders, poor customer service on phone , and sloppy made pizza. We have been very disappointed and hope that that things will improve again soon.
Honestly unimpressed. Pizza average, wings were dry and bland medium completely lacking flavor
Man.... the girl / woman who takes orders sometimes is SOOOO miserable to talk to. Always a terrible tone and even made sure to correct my girlfriend who ordered a large "plain" pizza. "Oh, you mean a large CHEESE pizza" she replied snobby as can be. Food is generally quite good though but she shouldn't be taking phone calls
It was ok. My first time ordering here. The pizza was nicely cooked. The first few bites are ok, but the crust was too large (not enough sauce) and chewy. Still in search for my “go-to” Syr pizza spot.
I used to love this place. Now all there pizza sits under the counter until. They warm it up. Cook fresh pizza. Warmed up slices suck
Ordered pizza and wings on Friday 9/6/24. I have ordered food from Mario's numerous times in the past. Food is almost always awesome. Asked for a price total over the phone when I placed the order for pick up. $77 and change. Was told the same amount at the register when picking up. Put it on the credit card. It was only after I signed the receipt that I noticed the total was rounded up to $80. I thought that that was strange. I should have said something then and there but it was extremely busy and I didn't want to hold up the line. It's still bothering me over a week later so I thought I would share. Again, food (wings especially) is outstanding. A bit more care should be placed on ringing the customer up.
The pizza was decent but we thought it was overpriced. It cost like $19 for a large pizza and we don’t think it tasted like a $19 pizza. We are from Pennsylvania where you can get a good local pizza for $11 or $12 or maybe even $13. We were going to possibly dine in but it was a little congested and busy in there from all the people waiting for carry out orders. Would be nice if there was a separate dining area from all the people hanging around waiting for carry out.
Stopped in passing bye, noticed tables not to clean and overall outdated vibe, plenty of workers to do things but a lot standing around.. overall got two slices chicken bacon ranch slice and cheese slice. CBR slice average chicken was dry, crust extremely chewy and little crisp to it 6.1 Cheese slice no stand out sauce taste cheese okay and chewy floppy crust 5.9
The only reason I can give Mario and Salvos a 2 star review at all is because the food is enjoyable. However, I have ordered from them multiple times only to be extremely disappointed in their service. The owner becomes aggressive any time something goes wrong with the order, which has happened on multiple occasions. Most recently, I placed an order and waited for my food to arrive to no avail. I called back later to check in on the status of the delivery to be told that the driver had already been to my address and attempted to call me to complete the delivery, which he had not. I did not miss a single call. When I informed the owner of the business, who I was speaking to at that time, He became very aggressive and immediately pinned all of the blame for the incident on me. I enjoyed the food when I had it, but the attitude that the business owner has is disgusting. They have lost a customer in me due to this.
Their food has always been good in the past but we ordered a pizza from their online system for 1 pizza and some soda. Order was confirmed, said when it would be ready...two hours go by and nothing. My friend called and was given attitude saying they are busy and never saw the order? My friend for a manager and was told there was nothing they could do. This really should be looked into, perhaps turn off online ordering during busy times that you are struggling to meet orders. Kinda defeats the purpose of online ordering. I understand the world is understaffed but a simple apology, compassion go a long way.
Ordered here earlier the lady was absolutely rude towards my mother when she picked it up. She had a attitude towards her, this was just very poor service my mom didn’t need the negativity or whatever the hell was going on in that lady’s day. The cheese pizza was good but the garlic pizza was terrible OIP definitely does a better job with garlic pizza. It’s literally been 9 years since I had this pizza I was glad nothing changed with the cheese pizza that’s my only positive outlook on it.
First time customer and I will say the pizza was pretty good and better than some other places around but as soon as I walked in all I heard was staff complaining about the customers before me. I then saw staff cutting pizza/ boxing food after texting on their phone without gloves on or washing their hands in between. We wont be back but I can see why people might keep going there
Been coming here since I was a kid. Unfortunately, for some reason the service is just going downhill. Pizza is a hit or a miss now days. The front desk man handling money is just plain rude. Snapped at me for $17. Trust me- I'm not running away with the pizza. It's just basic manners and politeness. With so many pizza places around you would expect some sort of kindness for choosing your location. At the end its loyalty from your customers not an expectation for them to come to your business. Hope this changes.
Every single time I order from this place I am missing something. Soda. Marinara sauce that I order extra of. And now a single mozzarella cheese stick (in their defense they don't say how many you get) but the picture shows six so you'd assume six. I got five. I know first world problems but this stuff happens pretty much every time I order. If they weren't so good I'd stop ordering from them. Well since this review, I've order a.handful of other times and each time I've come up missing something. It's become so consistent now that I'm not ordering from here anymore. And I know one person not ordering isn't going to hurt the bank because they don't seem to care when they don't bring the entire order. They seem down right annoyed it's even brought up. So im changing my review to two stars. Food is good. Customer service is consistently inconsistent.
This recent Monday I ordered and paid for an order of chicken tenders with the intentions to share them as part of a meal with others. I paid almost $11 for 4 chicken tenders. When I’ve ordered this in the past I’ve received 7 (sometimes 8 if I’m lucky). Hence why I ordered it to share. I could’ve bought a bag of chicken tenders for the same price. I didn’t though since I prefer the taste and quality of yours better. Something to consider price wise if you’re only gonna serve 4 tenders for almost $11. ( I wish I had taken a picture but at that point it was the end of everyone’s day at dinner time and we all were very tired, hungry and annoyed.)
Picked up my order a few weeks ago, and treated really oddly and rudely by someone who seems to be one of the owners (older male). Figured it was a bad day for him, and brushed it off. Then recently, my teenage daughter went by herself to pick up a pie and was basically ignored and treated pretty poorly by one of the two older gentleman, and it was pretty obvious. My daughter is a sweet girl and doesn’t yell victim at the drop of a hat, but she’s also perceptive enough when she’s getting treated differently than other people in the room. I can speculate, but not sure what it’s based on except to say that we will not be going there again. Don’t expect everyone to like me or my family, but being treated decently with the most basic elements of respect is not too much to ask, in my opinion - especially when someone is taking my money. I truly hope this was in some way an anomaly, but would encourage others to post to see if this is a pattern towards specific individuals. Also to be fair, the pizza is decent. Would rate it #2 or tied with #3 for local pizza. Also, if it’s not clear to the owners, you lost my business, as I will be driving 3 minutes farther for pizza now.
I would like to tell you about my experience at Mario & Salvo's tonight. My last delivery in February, I ordered a sheet pepperoni pizza, along with a couple large pizzas and a calzone with marinara. The delivery came late (delivery guy was really nice), but they forgot the pepperoni on the sheet pizza and they forgot the marinara sauce. I called to let them know, and the girl (also nice) said she would put in a credit for my next order. We decided to order again tonight. Now, I wasn't expecting a whole sheet pizza as credit, but I was not expecting to be given only $2.50 that I had ALREADY paid for in the first order. So basically in order to get my $2.50 back, I once again had to order at least $15-$20 more food from them! We were inconvenienced the first time, as we had family over for my daughter's birthday and now we had only cheese pizzas instead of the pepperoni option on the sheet. I politely asked to speak to the manager/owner. He got on the phone annoyed and had such a bad attitude- he was extremely condescending. I refuse to be spoken to like that by any man, but especially from someone that is supposed to value their customers. I always give a restaurant a chance to make it right, and tonight it was quite the opposite. No amount of credit will ever persuade me to order from this place...very bad attitude from the person in charge!
Used to be a massive patron of this place - ordered a pizza maybe once a month. Quality has been sliding. And now suddenly they don’t deliver to my house after doing so for years. Either the employee on the phone was being lazy or something, but she genuinely did not sound like she wanted to be there. I never leave reviews, you used to be my favorite pizza in town, you’re barely better than dominos now with the service and quality. So much for a last shot.
Unfortunately likely won’t be back after today’s pickup. If the owner/manager would like to see what I’m talking about via camera I picked up between 5:30-5:45 on 9/18. One large pie with garlic knots. Came in to pickup an order I placed online. To be clear I’ve ALWAYS had good experiences when the owner is in the shop. Unfortunately today it was a group of younger school/college aged workers. I ordered a cheese pizza with one topping and some garlic knots. When I asked for my order there was clearly something wrong, the worker at the register went to the person handling the pie talking facing away and specifically standing so I couldn’t see the pizza. At this exact time, the worker who appeared to be making the pizzas yelled at the two leaning over my pizza saying they clearly took the wrong pizza and just are putting garlic on “a random pizza.” Tho I couldn’t see what the workers were doing to my pizza It clearly was the wrong pizza. A few min later the person working the counter tossed the pizza on the counter without a word to me. I grab it and ask “was there something wrong with the pie” and got dismissed despite what I just overheard. At this point I ask for my garlic knots - the worker I guess was annoyed at me questioning why they were hiding what was going on with the pizza. Without a word he tosses the garlic knots on the counter. No “thank you sorry about the delay” just silence and I walk out. Imagine if he had just said “hey sorry it’s going to be a bit longer we put the wrong pizza in the box” or if they just said hey we forgot to put garlic on. I wouldn’t have cared at all. this was on a pickup order where I tipped 20%. Again. Owner wasn’t there and he always espouses the opposite experience. Extreme inconsistency in experience where I’m literally expecting the bare minimum customer service is why ill choose somewhere else to eat even if the food isn’t as good.
