Grilled Lemon Chicken rice and black beans and sweet plantains.

Small menu, but the food was actually really good! Slightly less flavorful than home-made Cuban food, but that alone is a huge compliment. Fly through DFW all the time, and this is one of the better places to try. The shredded flank steak tacos were great, and their bloody mary is pretty spot on as well.

Very nice customer service. Recommend the chili melon Margarita. Officially my favorite margaritas. Food is great.

Went here this evening for dinner with the wife and was greeted by a pleasant server. She was kind, quick and so helpful when ordering food. Tried the steak tacos, fries and Cesar salad and everything was excellent Feel bad others had bad experiences because ours was excellent

One of my best airport dining experiences ever! I have severe food allergies and am always nervous about eating out when traveling. The lady working there was so helpful, friendly and accommodating. I really appreciate her attention to detail and keeping me safe. The food was delicious too!

This place is now called Tapas y Cocina and the food was so surprisingly good here I am writing a review. The chicken in my soup and my husbands Caesar salad was made to order and better looking than the vast majority of airport food. Service was very kind and attentive, much appreciated in the middle of a hot mess travel day!

I was missing some local food of my country and I get lucky to find this place at the airport. The dish has plantain and beans very tasty 😋.

Definitely a win! Steak was perfectly cooked and palm salad was well balanced. Must go to spot if your passing through Dallas Fort Worth air port, right at gate A33

They were really good with my allergies, even though they said they can't share the menu/ingredients list. (I think in CA, at least, they legally have to, but idk about TX). The manager on duty was very pleasant and answered all my questions to my satisfaction. She also warned me about cross contamination. We arrived at 4pm and they'd stopped serving coffee. The DFW website mentions there are a lot of coffee options, but the menu only lists café, plain coffee. There was also readily available accessible seating and outlets. Food sounds good, I'll update the review when I eat it. They make it all from scratch, apparently.

Got the lemon chicken, which was tasty, but the real reason I felt inspired to leave a review was my server, Brent. His friendly attitude and attentiveness was 6-star service. Give that guy a raise.

The plantains and chicken soup are AMAZING!! Grant was a great server and I’m so glad I stopped here instead of Panera for something warm after my cold flight

Wonderfully tasty food! Very unexpected in an airport! The seasoning was very authentic.

Solid airport food, some draught beer, decent whisky selection. Overpriced, but you really can't avoid that at DFW.

Clean, food was average (I wouldn't say it was out of this world, but it's also not bad tasting). Service was kind but not super attentive.

One of the better restaurants at DFW airport. I tried their shredded flank steak tacos and they were actually very good. I was pleasantly surprised by the flavor. Black beans by themselves are okay, however if you pour the salsa they give you on the side in the beans with a little salt, super good. Then if you dip the rice into the beans, super good! I’m also Mexican and salvadorean so I think I have a pretty good gage on flavor 😊 also, took like 7 minutes to bring my food out! Service was really great. Keep in my I ordered around 8 pm. Overall, I’d recommend this place.

I camped out here when I was stuck in this airport so I can't give thoughts on the food. The benches were very comfortable to lay on, as well as accessible charging ports nearby. Whoever closed up did a good job. Overall great place.

There was a lot I loved about this place! Wonderful waitstaff. I loved that they had sooooo many plug in outlets along the wall. Such a nice offering in our technically dependant world. I had a virgin Mojito, and loved that it was at the price of a fountain soda instead of the cocktail price so many charge. I ordered the chicken rice soup, and it was …funky. Was going to just let it go but after other patrons returned theirs she came to see if mine was okay. When I said not really, she quickly changed it out for the butternut squash soup which was delicious ! I mean really! Apparently there’s been a mixup in the kitchen with the chicken soup not quite getting finished being made. I really appreciated her being so proactive when the problem was realized.

Honestly not bad for airport food. A little bit better than average for an airport but of course priced a little too high. Food was ok, place is clean, and staff was tentative. No complaints

C

The atmosphere is nice. It feels siphoned off from the rest of the terminal. The staff are also very friendly and helpful. Good sense of humor . The food could be better. I will always choose an airport restaurant that isn't a chain (if it's even possible ), but I would recommend adding some more complete flavors to the menu. They were out of steak which may have also been a better choice for a salad topping. The salad was very acidic and difficult to eat on the small plate they provided. The grilled chicken needed more flavor. Giving four out of five stars because of the atmosphere and service. The food wasn't terrible, it just wasn't the best tapas I've had. Also may want to add a taco item to the menu - seems like a big miss

right by gate 833. Not a bad place to come have a bit and a beer. It was weird the liquor bottles had napkins stuffed in them. Looks a little nasty.

I recently dined at Tappas y cocina at Dallas Airport and had a very good experience. The restaurant has tasteful decor and is very clean. The Latino music playing in the background added to the ambiance. The service was just okay, but the highlight was the surprising deliciousness of the chicken and rice chupe soup. The grilled chicken, fresh veggies, and perfectly cooked rice made it a satisfying choice, especially for airport food. Overall, I would recommend giving Tappas y cocina a try if you're at Dallas Airport."

When giving ratings I tend to think about in context of the environment. This might be a 3 star place outside of an airport but within what options you have next to your gate this place is pretty great. Not many restaurants that will have platanos fritos (fried sweet plantains) or cafe con leche (extra strong Cuban coffee). With those options and the fast service, you put aside the fast food level tacos and sides and enjoy the experience.

They need more staff for an airport restaurant. The fundido was bland and the soup was good but needed a punch of flavor.

If you're not looking for a huge meal, this little place is great for Latin American tapas. (located near gate A33) I had the Herb Grilled Cauliflower with Chili Lime Crema for $7. The cauliflower was grilled until it was just slightly crispy, but not overly so. The herb seasoning on it, was quite tasty. The chili lime sauce was nice and spicy, but it had but a strange sour taste to it and was way too heavy on the lime. The service is decent and prices are what you can expect from an airport restaurant. (yes, it's managed by HMS - the Aramark of airports)

M

Daphne the waitress was great despite being 1 of her for all of the customers, and with delays on service in that sense her kindness, attention to detail and helpful service attitude made up for it and felt compelled to give her a shout out for her service. Appreciate her. Steak, rice & beans was tasty. The chicken dish was terrible, didn’t taste like chicken.

It's hard to find good places in an airport, but this looked like an inviting place to sit as I was dining solo. The bartender, Jeffrey was very nice and greeted me as soon as I sat down. I ordered a glass of wine and the Grilled Lemon Chicken. The wine was fairly good, but a bit pricey at $21. a glass. The Grilled Chicken was a large portion and nicely seasoned. Overall, it was a nice lunch, but the cost of the wine did not make me want to stay for more than 1 drink, despite an extremely long layover.

It was very expensive, even for an airport restaurant. The service was good but the food was just ok. The plantains were burnt and the salad was drenched in dressing(and the dressing had a weird flavor). I won't come here again next time I'm in Dallas.

Food is decent, but kind of bland for Mexican food. My issue is with the service, food comes out super slow and everyone in our party of 4 got our food 10 mins apart, so the last person waited nearly 30mins after the first person was served. This is an airport, time is of the essence! Also the square plates are huge for the tiny tables, I got two tacos and you could land a helicopter on this massive plate.

Food is fine, and Service is fine, unless you order food. They need a system for alerting your bartender that your food is available. I saw multiple people getting their burgers out ahead of mine, even though they ordered way after I did. When my burger finally arrived, it had clearly been sitting under a warming light for 30 minutes or more.

The chips were stale and prepackaged. The salsa tasted like it was from a jar. The bartender was nice and personable. But when we tried to move to a table because the bar area was crowded, the "hostess" made us move from the table stating that, "If you started at the bar, you have to stay at the bar." This was not a pleasant or accommodating experience. I do not recommend this place. There is no spirit of generosity or accommodation.

Malbec is good. Service terribly slow. Food is overpriced and incredibly bad. Waited 5 minutes to be noticed by server. Out of my first three wine picks. I waited 5 minutes to be noticed, then 8 minutes to get my glass of wine. Soup was lukewarm and my exciting salad ended up being just huge spinach leaves and red onions.

Staff is nice, but even with minimal patrons, they were slow to check in on me. Water empty, chips empty, and salsa, you guessed it empty. The food was tepid and lacking substance and flavor. Salsa was horrifically mild for something called fiery salsa. I had the chicken and rice soup, the potion was underwhelming for 11.99. do yourself a favor and definitely skip this place. Absolutely a big letdown.

I saw the name of the place and I automatically thought of that time I had the pleasure of visiting Spain. Sadly enough I couldn't even get a mix drink, the answer was: they pull the menu due to limited ingredients due to Covid. That makes sense, but then they tell me, I have a full bar and I can make anything as long as you know what's in it. Mmmm, then its the issue that they don't have all ingredients or that maybe they don't know what they are doing? Quick call out, you been leaning over that counter for 15 min, yet you have unattended dirty dishes. Caught her 3 times playing with her phone while "cashing people out". I had one beer and I was out, papassitos it is I guess.

The food looks good but not what I was expecting. The food have no taste. Lemon pepper have no taste at all I have to ask the server for salt and pepper to put some flavor on it

Sat down to get a snack before a flight and ordered the "mixed chips and fiery salsa" for $8. It's described as "mixed vegetables and fruit chips with fiery tomato salsa." it was just tortilla chips and a watery bland salsa. I asked the waitress where the "mixed vegetables and fruit chips" were since it's just tortilla chips and she said oh, we ran out of plantains this morning. It would have been nice to know that I was paying $8 for something that's not even close to the description.

We order street corn $8.59 was really good but the tacos de carnitas so disappointing ,only 2 skinning tacos with very little meat for $19!! Won't be back here!

Restaurant was clean looking yet the staff was very inattentive and uninviting. The particular server I experienced had a very nasty attitude. She was ugly inside and out. Her name was Jervonne. The experience I had with her was so bad I'm never going back to this restaurant again. Food was not good and my order actually came in reverse order appetizer last in other words. When I asked about it she gave me a nasty attitude about it and walked off. I Just want the public who may want to visit this restaurant to know what to expect in advance. The workers were busy talking amongst themselves instead of serving customers. The food itself was not good either. Definitely not worth the 33 bucks I spent on a soup and some chips and bean dip fondida...no flavor at all

C
Connie Mata

I had a glass of water. machines were not working for coffee. That's whatever, but the Menu is terrible. I am so glad I listened to my gut and didn't eat there. I know I would have been highly disappointed. I was going to give it a shot but as soon as I saw the pictures people shared and the prices.... Nah. Even the workin was letting me know what other restaurants are around. almost felt encouraged to leave lol.

R
Ranam Kazziha

The food proportions are so little and it does not taste good.

As others have said, taco shells are a bad joke. Sauce on the shrimp tostada was disgusting. Same with the cocktail. Blech. I don’t post many reviews this negative when service is good, but the ingredients and food here are aggressively terrible, even for an airport. They also didn’t label the prices on the terrible, simplistic cocktails, and now that I got the receipt… $18! Owners aim to fleece you with this place, deserves zero stars.

W
Wanda Juzang Cooper

I ordered tacos, they were swimming in grease, soaked actually. The salsa was watery and tasteless. The table was sticky. The chips were old and stale. It was a terrible dining experience.

C

Terrible even for airport food. Had the Caesar salad and the greens were wilted, what little chicken there was burnt and dry, and there were two tomatoes in it. All for over $20.

A
Ashley Armstrong

I was charged $1,435.01. Certainly did not spend that much on an airport meal. There is no phone number to get in contact with the restaurant. Food was fine but this headache and HUGE accounting error. Will never consider again.

9:25 am Tuesday morning March 4 2025. Had a seat at the bar, the Bartender asked me what I wanted to drink. I said ice tea, Immediately said we’re not serving that right now. Then I asked for a breakfast menu, He said we’re no longer serving breakfast. I said it’s 9:30am - yes and we are no longer serving breakfast. But they had their serving breakfast sign still up in front of the hostess area that’s why I walked into the restaurant. Not good an attitude.

Arrived 9.36 and sat down because they had a breakfast menu in the entrance. THEY STOP SERVING BREAKFAST AT 9.30!!!! avoid this place instead go to Papasitos! Right next to it!

Food get 1 star because I ordered a chicken ceaser salad 36 minutes before I boarded (restaurant was dead) and got it 3 minutes before I boarded. They WERE going to charge me until I stated that I wanted to eat it in restaurant. Then they packed it up. Do not visit of tight on time. They seemingly do not care. Lady bartender was nice. You could tell she was trying.

Food flavor was ok. I ordered the soup and my bowl was half empty and 2 pieces of chicken in it only. Asked the waitress if there was anyway to get another scoop and she said NO with an attitude that's the portion you get. Super small portion for a soup $13 is crazy to me and very rude on waitress part. Staff needs to be retrainrd on proper customer service. Most of the staff was more worried about being on their phones than taking care of customers.
