McDonald's Discovery Bay Reviews
This mornings visit was nice, customer service at inside front counter was fantastic. It was very busy yet the young girl was multi tasking and keeping things moving and everybody happy. Normally service isnt as friendly as it was today. Love the changes in staff
Manager Carlos Turcios i believe thats his name! Great service, on point! Very polite! Never have i heard a great drivethru service with so much enthusiasm and energy from someone working at mcdonlds. More people like him should work there! Even tho with this pandemic we cannot see someones face expression, but the sound of his voice shows empathy. And makes someone smile! Cheers for having a great person on the leading line!
This 5 star is for the girl that works in the drive through tonight 7/6/2022 at 9pm she is doing a great job resolving issues with rude customers and still have a smile once you pull up and pay. Very respectful and responsive she has a bright future.
Very good experience today. Alejandro was very helpful and attentive to his job. Excellent customer service from him and his partner. 2 thumbs 👍 👌

Don't go to this McDonald's too often but when I do I've never had an issue the food is always fresh made correctly. I would say the only thing they need to work on is customer service there's times that I'm standing at the front waiting to order and numerous employees look at me but not one person acknowledges that I'm there and I have to ask somebody for help. I think this has a lot to do with them wanting people to use the self-service kiosk they have... the only problem is when I'm doing specialty orders it's not the easiest to use so I like to do it at the register to make sure it's done correctly other than that I prefer going to this McDonald's then the one by my house in Tracy... that should tell you something!
As McDonalds go, this is a nice location. It's improved considerably the last 6 months or so. I've had no order problems and it is consistent and clean. Staff have a good attitude.
Solid McDelivery! Food arrived hot and fresh, fries were crispy, and the ice cream machine (praise be!) wasn't broken. Drive-thru line looked crazy, so takeout was the way to go. Only knock is missing ketchup packets - rookie mistake, Mickey D's!
Food as expected. Very clean restrooms. Ordering monitors said that at that time - shortly after the lunch hour - they were not taking dine-in orders. So you got your food in a paper to-go bag.

It's way nicer now that they remodeled the restaurant. Prices seem a tiny bit higher than other McDonald's I've been to. Customer service can be slow and it seems that they often confuse buying just a sandwich vs. a combo meal. I don't know if this is intentional to try and make more money, but it is very annoying. If I wanted a meal, I would ask for a meal, other than that then they should know I want just a sandwich. I also think the workers don't care very much for the quality they are serving. Occasionally for breakfast, the biscuits are rock hard, I think, because they sat around too long, or not steam warmed properly. When I order a big mac, the sandwich looks like it had been assembled sloppily by a third grader. Sometimes the tarter sauce on the fillet o'fish is fizzy and on the verge of spoilage. I think the management needs to be improved in order to correct these issues.
We placed a large order TO GO including 12 apple pies, the food was ready and we had to wait about 20 more minutes for the Pies. UNSAT!! the food was cold by the time we got home🥵👺
I stop here for breakfast on my way to Stockton on Saturday mornings. I got the same meal I always get and the total amount this time was more than $2 than it was on my previous visit. The food was fine, but at those prices, it's now about the same as going to a casual restaurant for breakfast. So, I won't be stopping here any more.
I only give it an " okay " because it's fast food. Hey to be fair we're moving fast these days. Even a planet stopping pandemic was like a speedbump to us all. McDonald's stepping up to help soften the blow of this painful and scary new learning curve meant a lot. If you weren't to scared to go to the store..... it might be closed anyway. Thanks Micky D's for helping keep hold of some normalcy through this.
Very clean=+, quiet and safe to stop for a coffee and burger than hit the road. Don't except lukewarm fries though, ask for fresh batch.
A little dirty. Door put of alignment has to pushed super hard to get in and out. Burger was cold.

Inside the restaurant is dirty. Bathrooms not clean. The nuggets 10/10, the fries 10/10 for McDonald’s. The McFlurry an absolute rip off. They don’t mix it correctly, and barely out any toppings inside. 1/3 ratio is horrible. The soda machine needs to be refilled the syrup isn’t tasteful. The Kit Kat banana split is disgusting and has dried bananas.
I bought a quarter pounder Deluxe, thinking it didn't have mayonnaise as the original quarter pounder. So I couldn't eat mayonnaise and brought it back and they didn't even offer a new one I had to buy another 1 for more than $6 and they gave the other one to a homeless guy. So I didn't have a very good experience at all.
On my way to work and stopped in to get an large ice coffee hazelnut. Should of ask for a large water with ice and a drizzle of coffee flavor. All bad , I ordered ice coffee from other locations that were much stronger on the regular basis. This location can step it up. I just assumed it may have been that day and time I went. Got a quarter pounder also but the sandwich was good. One more star for that being on point.
The place is clean but managed poorly. When I asked for additional utensils, no staff wanted to help. A staff responsible for the pick up orders said that the other lady can help me. However, she saw me but did not step up to help either. For reference. Service time: 3:20 PM on 09/04/23.
🤢 Drink machine is disgusting. See photos. Bathroom floors are filthy. You can see the color difference in my video. The coffee is worth the visit but nobody will acknowledge you as you walk in. No greeting. They expect you to use the kiosks for ordering while they attend to the drive through customers. I waited about 10 minutes, yes for fast food: hash brown and breakfast burrito with an iced coffee for $6.50 which isn’t bad. Burrito: awful in flavor and texture. Hash brown was good. Crispy and full of grease 🤤. Coffee was delicious for only $2.39 at medium size. P - parking: 5/5 P - price: 5/5 S - seating: 5/5 T - time to be served: 1/5 T - time to be acknowledged: 0/5 V - value: 2/5 V - return value: 2/5

Gone there a few times near closing and every time they are closed way before the advertised times. Update your site, how hard can it be. It shows your hours are until 1130 on Sunday and I rolled up at 10:50 and you guys were all shut down. Not cool.
Employees here seem to regularly disregard order specifications (i.e. no onions on a burger despite having requested otherwise), and exude a general unprofessionalism. I do understand that this is a McDonalds, but that’s beside my point. This is a recurring issue, in my case— The food is decent, but not decent enough to make up for such a careless mistake. There have also been instances where they completely ignore an order, past the point of ‘not hearing you.’ Another time, an employee directly told us that, “we don’t sell happy meals.” The inner atmosphere is fine, but nothing special. The very least you could do is ensure that your employees are competent enough to handle a single order.
Waited forever to have our food ordered, sat at the drive through speaker while 3 other cars from the other line got to order first. Once it was our turn, she was rude and snippy!! Then once we got our food, the fries and nuggets we gross from sitting under the lamp, and the chx sandwich was so hard, dark, and small that it couldn't even be eaten. One of the worst McDonald's I've been to.

Less than 1 star but I can’t rate it less than this. Ordered a large sprite and it’s only fizzy water. Didn’t know it until down the country road and couldn’t turn around. Tried to call but phone keeps ringing no answer. The chicken nuggets were below their standards too. Tasted like they were kept warm all day, not fresh. It’s too bad it’s the only drive thru in the area.
They forgot about me in the drive thru, took 3 other cars on the other side before I said "hello, did you forget about me", she then repeats the begining of my order back, so she knew I was still there obviously. When I got to the 1st window to pay she says, 2 big breakfasts and your other stuff, I said what other stuff, so she repeats order, which she should've learned in training, holds her hand out for payment, which she never told me, so I ask the amount, then throws my change in my hand. When I get to 2nd window, where there is a manager to complain to, she is laughing, and just tosses my 3 overfill bags to me and a drink, doesn't make sure that's my order, no have a nice day, and shuts the window. RUDE
Very disappointing. Bathroom in dyer need of cleaning. Ordered coffee with my lunch and the coffee was cold. If I had ordered that through the drive through and had gotten on the road, it would have been very disappointing and annoying. ...especially since my day started at 4:30 am..I did inform the employee but it didn't appear that made any difference. :(
Waited in drive up in the right lane. The girl taking the order helped the car in the left lane that drove up 4 minutes after me. Still waiting she helped the second car that was behind her next.she still didn’t come on so I backed up and left
I ordered 4 hashbrowns and was told to wait out front for my order to be ready. I waited 20mind just to only receive 2 out of 4. Never coming back.
Last three times service wasn't good. Hash browns was cold. And I specifically asked them if they could stir my caramel macchiato like all the other McDonald's do. Mention to them the last two times I came they did not stir my Carmel macchiato. It's a bit hard to steer your macchiato while you're driving. They failed again to stir my macchiato.
The open hours posted 5 am. I arrived 4:45 waited until 5:15 NEVER OPEN UP THE DRIVE THRU. I LEFT WENT TO STARBUCKS. 5:30 never turned on lights. Cannot deal with this problem. It made me run late for appointment.
We came in, wanting to order breakfast but no one was wanting to help us. We asked for the breakfast menu, they.say it's at the front but it's no where to be seen. The employees just went behind the counter and didn't ask to take our order. We decided to go to Starbucks that was a few minutes away instead. Disappointed because we have been here at this McDonald's before.
They charge you the full price for your food, then don't give you everything. When you come back and ask for your food, they look at you like you're crazy. I'd give this place negative one stars if possible and will be reporting this location to their headquarters. Believe the other bad reviews on here and stay clear of this location. Literally just down highway 4, in Stockton, you get better service than here.
i was in the drive through with nobody behind me and the window person said what do i want so i said “2 double quarter pounders w extra everything” and he said “damn” and said my amount due, i pull up to the window and he said hypothetical question, how kind have u ever went without taking a shower, so i said 3 days and he said “pee yew union boy” and proceeded to give me my food, i am now down 200 lbs in 3 months, im black
These guys were completely ignoring us and the many customers that were waiting in line to pay. They were in a bad mood and took it out on faithful american customers not very happy 😡
The place was clean, but the service took me 5 minutes before somebody acknowledged that I was there. Busy helping drive through and taking care of their store but not taking care of the customers at the cash register. Walked over to starbucks and got faster service and out the door in less than five minutes.
On Friday May 4th approximately at 0052 hours while arriving to McDonald’s on the left side of the drive thru I was not even greeted at the Menu intercom. In fact, as I was a breaking to a complete stop, I heard from the drive thru employee asking in an irritated tone, “What you want to order?” Before I can adjust my eyesight to the bright menu, I heard for the second time with a mild aggressive tone, “what you want to order?” Feeling rushed to order, I replied approximately one (1) second later by saying, “I will take a number three (3), please.” Due to not hearing as quick of an eager response from the drive thru employee, I repeated my order twice. Then it occurred to me that he (the employee) did in fact switched the intercoms from my side to the other side where someone was behind me in line. The employee in fact ignored my order and took someone else’s. I was in disbelief that a newly highly paid McDonald’s employee would act like this. A near 6 figured employee treating customers in such a manner. So, I gave the benefit of the doubt that the employee didn’t hear me. So I drove up to the first window. As I was second in line behind the window. I then heard, the employee switching back to the intercoms to the side I came from. Asking, with a very disrespectful speech and terminology, “Sir, you gonna order or what? You not saying anything, hello? Hello? Helllllllllllllloooooo? You gonna order or keep playing games?” I didn’t reverse to engage in that kind of unprofessionalism. I kept calm and I had just got done working a 16 hours shift. So I wasn’t going to cook, just wanted to get a meal and go to bed. Upon my arrival to the first window for a form of payment. I observed a darker toned man out of uniform. Not being able to identify, no name tag, didn’t look like an employee that was meeting the character of an employee held to a higher standard. In reaction of them employee, he escalated the situation by not approaching the window and put a stick shaped figure locking the drive thru window without communicating to me. I don’t know if it’s because I’m a man, Mexican or what. But I just wanted to see if I can take my order at the window due to the lack of communication. But now I felt like this person assumed I was going to rob the place. And I felt very low, I felt disrespected, I felt like a criminal with that kind of behavior presented by the employee. So, in reaction I drove to next window to speak with a different employee. I failed by getting the same employee who rushed to the second window to confront me and say, “what do you want. You didn’t say anything before.” Again I am in disbelief of the unprofessionalism that the other employees are allowing this man to escalate a situation he created, himself. In my response, I replied in clear and simple language, “you didn’t give me a chance to order, you quickly allowed someone behind me to order before I can even say anything, can I just take my order here or you’re going to make me go around?” The employee said, “Yupp, you’re gonna have to go around, that’s exactly what you’re going to do.” I replied, “no one is even behind me.” The man said, “ oh well”. At this point I brought my phone to an eye level position in a calm manner and snapped a photo of this employee. This man was so scared and acted like I pulled out a gun. I didn’t even say anything to this man. But I don’t know if this is his first time seeing a Mexican or what. But I don’t think McDonald’s should hire racist people. I will never go to this damn McDonald’s again. The photos represent him locking the first window to not engage of any form of communicative contact. Then the third photo is the man not dressed in proper uniform. If anything I should be scared of this man. He looked like he could’ve been just anyone hanging out in the damn restaurant.
Received 'A TEENY TINY' fish sandwich (? not sure what fish McD's are using these days) The 1/2 slice of barely melted cheese was disgusting!! It was no bigger then a fat bandaid. Special sauce, not much. Normally wouldn't have eaten at ANYBODY'S McD's but I was with a relative visiting from out-of-state and we were STARVING...
I wanted to bring to your attention an unfortunate experience I had during my recent visit to your establishment. I ordered a Happy Meal for my child, but unfortunately, the burger was forgotten. When I returned to address this issue, I encountered the manager, Charles. Instead of receiving a warm and understanding response, I felt profiled and treated with suspicion, as if I were trying to scam him for a $2 burger. I explained that I wouldn't drive back just for that amount, especially since my child was upset about not receiving it. Unfortunately, Charles handed me the burger with a dismissive attitude and without any apology. I believe that customer service is crucial in maintaining a positive environment, and this experience fell short of that standard. I suggest that Charles receive additional training to help him better handle customer inquiries and concerns, especially as a manager. I hope that my experience can help improve service for future customers.

Service is atrocious very rude and when asked the team laughed at a customer unfortunately I have to witness it. When asked for a Manger the guys said he is one of them... if McDonald's really reads this review hope they dons o me this about it. Sorry.... there was one employee stood out with exceptional customer service his Name is Jamal Amazing...
Customers service is deplorable from Management down to servers. Ordered are continuously messed up. We live 5 minutes from the location and the foods cold by the time we get home. No thank you. We tried to place the seasonal Grinch order. Instead of saying they ran out the girl who worked there just put in an order for something else and didn’t even tell us. We got to the window, no apology, we had them change the order to what we wanted. Instead of giving us the condiments we asked for she gave us the run thing. Thought we had the right stuff finally, left and realized they didn’t. Turned around went back and the idiot manager tried charging us again for their mistake! When we drove up to the next window to the girl who waited on us, the manager came along, gave us the correct order, no smile no apology.
Update with 2nd Visit: Decided to give this place an opportunity for redemption. I placed an order for pick up at curbside. There was a sticker on my burger with all the correct specifics. Even with this being the case, the order was wrong. The burger should have an extra patty and it did not. So, I pull up to the drive through window and the manager decides to aggressively approach the window. No, this was not the same manager from my first review. This place apparently has a way of hiring agro managers. He pretends not to understand what I’m saying but he had an accent, so I asked if he speaks Spanish since I speak Spanish as well. He sarcastically replies that he only speaks Chinese, but he says this in Spanish. I explain to him that my order is wrong and hand him my burger. Then he starts buffering and I have to go as far as to further explain that the burger/order was prepared incorrectly and a patty is missing. Instead of apologizing, he starts lecturing me about how I needed to have ordered a double quarter pounder with cheese deluxe. It took everything in me to not tell him that what he should be worried about is teaching his employees to actually read the orders before preparing the food. I bite my tongue and he asks me to go to the next window. Then, to add insult to injury, he decides to park me as though I’m some sort of inconvenience. He brings out a greasy mess of a burger; the bottom bun was literally soggy as all get out. I’ve stopped by because this location is a convenient stop on my way to and from work. It is in a great location. It looks aesthetic enough. The service is just beyond miserable. I was initially surprised the score was so low, but now I’m surprised it’s not lower. Weird thing is that the terrible service has never been from the employees, but from the managers; the one’s who are supposed to be leading by example… the ones the company is trying to replicate by having them lead/train. At this point, this location is a lost cause. ******************************************** Had to repeat my order several times at the drive through. After they take the payment they decide to “park” me. If I wanted to park and wait for food, I’d of gone with curbside. The manager was rude and in dire need of soft skills. Bull in a china shop is an accurate description.
McDonald’s connoisseur here, you can check my app. This is a top 3 worst McDonald’s I’ve ever been to. They always make you drive around to wait for your “drive-thru” order, but then when you get your food the fries are ALWAYS soggy, cold and just not cooked through. The QPCs come out so greasy that by the time you get to eat it the bottom bun is a soggy mess. And I know the fast food model has switched in recent years, but this is a community with a ton of retirees and I’ve seen multiple get completely ignored and receive zero customer service at the counter because the assumption is they will use the order screens.
App says open until 11:30pm. On Sunday. Its 11:06pm and drive through business is closed. You need the district manager or owner... not the assistant lol 😆.
I eat here way more than I like to admit and I have never had a "good meal" from this location either they make you go park in front say the frys are cooking but then come out not even 2 mins later... or to never getting fresh fresh because they are almost always stale. Employees make you feel like you need to rush to order or they are about to get off and just dont want to even take your order. Although I have had maybe 1 or 2 people who were actually providing a service. They didnt work there long... Seems like this happens alot with the reviews also. We accidently selected a further mcdonalds or this location just chose not to accept delivery that day whichever it was the other location was like night and day with quality and food temperature and presentation (the meat and cheese was actually on the buns.) Which blows my mind because its almost twice the distance away.... Do better.
We were three minutes early to breakfast, but they refused to serve us lunch. After we came back, they kept questioning our order and told us we had to wait for the food to be ready when we pulled up. The service was terrible and the food wasn’t even worth it. Terrible experience.
Had a very bad encounter here. My friends and I ordered food around the same time, but my order was still not ready in more than 20 minutes when my friends already finished their food. I asked one employee (sorry I forgot his name; let me refer to him as J) what was going on with my order. The interesting thing happened: when J was about to say something to me, another guy, who later told us he was Charles the manager, stopped J and approached me instead. The manager said "It's just waiting, simple" then walked away. I was upset but didn't say anything. Later when my food was ready, I asked J again what caused the delay and I could have made changes to my order if it was because of a single item. However, the managed stopped J again and told me that everybody had been waiting. This is when we started a heated argument. I was pretty upset with his attitude, and however, he told me and my friend that I was the one having an attitude. Should I not get upset because my food was delayed and I was told to just accept it? At one point during the argument, the manager told me that "you now have your food. You can take it outside if you don't like it". At another point he said "I already said sorry, what else you want?", even though he never said sorry or gave me an explanation of the delay. My child was with me the whole time. He was scared by the manager and started crying and asked me to stop arguing with the manager. Later when we were back to our seats, J brought my boy an ice cream to calm him down. It was very nice of J. Not sure why the manager thought he could "handle" a complaining customer himself when J could clearly do a much better job. It was a disastrous encounter with such a nasty manager. It was once-in-a-lifetime experience. Before we left the restaurant, my child said he never wants to come to McDonald's again. Nice job, Charles!
Twice now I've gone through drive through, only for them to mess up my order. I'm highly allergic to dairy, causes much worse nausea than most; so I always get my food with no cheese. I ask a brunette lady through the speaker for a double cheeseburger with no cheese, and then clarified I wanted it with NO cheese. Then, after finishing, I wrapped it up by saying "Yeah, just no cheese on the double burgers and that'll be all." I get to the window, and a different older Mexican lady hands me my food and I go to check instantly and of course my burgers have cheese on them. So I give them back and ask for no cheese, and an African man (manager perhaps) asked me if I asked for no cheese at the window, and he said "You should have confirmed it said no cheese before driving forward next time." I told him, "I asked for no cheese 3 times, how about you tell your employees to listen rather than expecting me to go in there and watch over them for you?" Before speeding off. Horrible service, ignorant and rude employees, and constantly terrible food.
They’re literally never open by 5am like how they say they are. I end up going to Starbucks next door for breakfast 5 days a week because of this.
Dico Bay Mc Ds is the absolute worst! They do an AMAZING job at completely ignoring you, and when you do get help they look at you like your crazy. I'm keto so ordered just a burger pattie with cheese. I got my order and they gave me a bun with cheese. So I went back in there and showed the manager who was also talking very harshly to a very kind elderly lady who was doordashing with her husband who I had run into earlier, and I told the manager that I ordered no bun and I ordered a pattie, so he brought me back out my new food and said that I didn't order cheese so he put on the side. I did order cheese!! I am really starting to bealeve that Mc Donald's literally trains there employees to ignore you and be completely rude. Not to mention they take as long as they would like and don't care about anyone's time.
Lazy people work here with bad attitude. The Costumer service deserves 0 star. They just throw the food on your face. My first and really bad experience in this store. I don’t know if smoking weed and coming to work. The owner needs to look into this. Specially with the morning crew August 8 2024

App says open until 11:30pm. On Sunday. Its 11:06pm and drive through business is closed. You need the district manager or owner... not the assistant lol 😆.
We were three minutes early to breakfast, but they refused to serve us lunch. After we came back, they kept questioning our order and told us we had to wait for the food to be ready when we pulled up. The service was terrible and the food wasn’t even worth it. Terrible experience.
Do better.
