Il Timone Domaso Reviews
Delicious food, my friend had Pizza and I had past and both were really nice and good price as well
For the price and quality of the food you can’t really complain. Lovely family run restaurant so feel like you are helping local people. Great for filling a whole!
This is an AMAZING family run business! The food was incredible and very affordable! We had a lasagna, spaghetti with pistachio pesto and burata and even took a pizza to go. They where very friendly and the food was great! This is a hidden pearl and everyone should have a chance to try it!
Fantastic restaurant in Domaso. Portions are large and the service is especially quick. Sit outside on their patio and order the seafood spaghetti and the steak. Note the steak comes very rare and you might want to ask if you want a more well done piece. Prices are reasonable (10-20pp) and notably the restaurant is open during the afternoon.
This place is a gem. Not at all pretentious and the best pizza and pasta I've had in Italy and it's very affordable. Marcello and Italia are wonderful hosts and add to the charm of the place. There may be better looking places around but you're on a good thing when you eat where the locals eat.
We had a delicious pizza after cycling almost 5 miles from our campsite. Relaxed atmosphere and good food. I had salami pizza and the other half had mushroom pizza. We drank copious amounts of water, 2 cokes and a beer. All good. For dessert the other half had ice cream and it was huge! We left our bikes in the little entrance alley and sat outside really near to them. Staff were friendly.
Delicious pizza! We had the Marinara and the Margarita pizzas. We ended up coming back the next day because we enjoyed it so much. Lovely staff! We took away our pizzas both nights to eat down by the lake. But the second night we didn’t realise our pizzas hadn’t been sliced until we were already at the lake which made it quite difficult to eat it as we had no cutlery.
NOT RECOMMEND. We had Pizza special and seafood spaghetti, both were not good. Pizza was just ok, not crispy, not what we expected in Italy. Seafood was especially horrible, not fresh, worse than the frozen seafood I bought from supermarket, tasted like can food. Three stars for the service.
Visited without reservation. Was well received at the street. Inside the restaurant we were serviced in a bit stand offish or indifferent way. Maybe the contrast to other restaurants' warmer atmosphere made it seem worse. The pizzas were okay. We also had a meat dish, which was a disappointment. The place itself was fairly cozy.
Do yourself a favor and find a different spot. While the service was friendly, the food was utterly disappointing. We visited Il Timone as it seemed a popular stop among tourists, alas once the food came out, even before trying it, our hearts sank. We ordered a few classics: Gnocchi al Pomodoro, Caprese and a ventured for a Tagliatelle a la Salmone. We were given some days old bread with pecorino as a starter. The salmon dish was too creamy, didn't have a particularly good taste and the pasta was overcooked. The Gnocchi was cooked well but the sauce was a bit slimy and bland. Worth saying that the prices here are on the low end, but even for the prices we paid, we felt the food greatly under delivered.
