Gaia Bistro' Dongo Reviews
Just had a couple of amazing burgers here. Okay; they aren’t cheap eats, but they are not run-of-the-mill burgers. Mine was prepared with a hazelnut mayo, fresh salad and rocket/arrugala (and I mean just picked fresh) and slivers of a type of hard cheese (not Parmesan or Grana Padano, but similar). Served in a delicious, home baked bun with perfect fries. Honestly, the best burger I have ever eaten. Knocks any of the “gourmet” chains back in the UK for six. The place itself is cute, lovely staff, and only left down a little by being part of a mini-mall (a plus if you drive there as there’s a lot of parking) and having very few patrons (though I guess we were late for them).
Super cute spot for breakfast/brunch. We came in as a group of 4 and 2 dogs, which was no problem at all for the staff all very friendly and attentive. We ordered the scrambled egg on toast, savoury omelette, savoury waffle with ham and cheese and waffle with fresh fruit and white chocolate! We all throughly enjoyed our food and we took a selection of croissants (Nutella, cream, pistachio and a selection of jam filled ones including strawberry and blueberry) which were all so delicious!
Absolutely wonderful place to relax and eat. The staff were friendly and attentive, the food reasonably priced and very very good quality. I highly recommend.
We as a family liked the Bistro very much. Espresso and Cafe Americano was nice and the meals were delicious. The kids liked the muffins a lot. Everything was friendly and relaxed. Therefore we enjoyed the place frequently.
We dined in for a quick bite and ordered a panini and burger. The bread used for both was a little bit "crusty" / hard but perhaps because we were there in the late afternoon. The stars were the macarons -- we had one of each flavor and they were all FANTASTIC. They rival those you would find at Laudree in Paris. YUM. Highly highly recommend getting some macarons
Atmosphere very good and the service was ok, but I asked for ketchup twice and it was never received, and it wasn't not the busiest at this time! Beware of the deer meat burger as mine was RAW, not like cooked on the outside a little red in the middle I mean RAW! Chios were amazing and the pinse also amazing!
We were there for Dinner to eat some Pizza. Service was slightly weird, they didn't offer starters and communication was hard. The Pinsas were really nothing special. Prices are alright but for Italian standards too high for the quality of food and service. I don't regret eating there but it really didn't reach my expectations.
We came here to have dinner about a week ago since the place looked cosy. The waitress was nice and she spoke some English which was ok. After looking at the menu we both ordered the fish burger. We got a salmon patty on some bread with little sauce, it was boring and low in taste. Honestly think it's overpriced for what we got. The french fries it came with were good though. I think the place is great for breakfast and lunch, but I would not recommend it for dinner based on my experience.
The waitress came, didn't even say hi, looked at us like we're enemies, didn't give us any menu. We had to ask for it but given the attitude, we left promptly.
I know how much bad reviews influence the success of restaurants but…we ordered a burger and 3 salat bowls with salmon. The bowl for 15 euro’s was basically 3 bites, and the salmon just one. It’s just cheap (cold) supermarket salmon. We actually even asked if the protein on the bowl is hot, the question was answered with a yes. When we highlighted the “problem”, we didn’t get a expected ‘oh sorry, i forgot’ no, the waiter just emphasized that it’s cold and always cold, the owner of the restaurant even laughed at us when we mentioned the cold salmon and small portion and anwered with: “no problem”. The polite expression of our experience was not at all accepted or taken away and that’s when i write a review like this. Even if it’s because of the language, you don’t laugh at costumers and not one apology was made. We felt very unpleasant. A little sum of other things that weren’t good: 1, the panini’s were out. 2, there are several types of burger buns in the menu but they had only one. 3. The ketchup was expired. 4. They had no bread at all. 5. The burger meat tasted like a cheap frozen patty. Athmosphere wise they were playing loud hardstyle music in the restaurant, it’s not even that i don’t like it as a dutch, but in a supposingly cozy italian bistro it’s just wrong. A lot of things have to change to make the place something i recommend. We go to the restaurant since 15 years so basically we know
Not vegan friendly! The vegan ‚Burger‘ in this restaurant is without any burger bread or anything else. It‘s barley pressed to a burger patty. No spices, no taste. As a side dish there are some grilled vegetables. It‘s a f... joke to call this a burger. The meat burger for my boyfriend tasted okay, but nothing special.
