We had the best experience at Pippal Dublin! The restaurant is absolutely stunning — every detail is so elegant and thoughtfully designed, from the décor to the servers’ outfits. You can tell a lot of love went into creating this place. Chef Munish Rana is incredibly talented. Every dish we tried was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor — you can truly taste the passion and creativity in his cooking. The menu celebrates the amazing diversity of Indian cuisine, but with a modern twist that feels fresh and elevated (and it’s all made with California’s best local ingredients). It’s the perfect spot for a date night, celebration, or a special dinner out with family or friends. The atmosphere is warm, upscale, and welcoming — exactly what Dublin needed! If you’re looking for the best Indian restaurant in the Tri-Valley, Pippal Dublin should be at the top of your list. Can’t wait to come back!

We dined here on a weeknight and the restaurant was bustling with people by 7pm. The hostess and the host , Apoorva , were very welcoming and situated us at a table in less than 5 minutes. The ambience was very contemporary and chic , perfect for date nights and family gatherings. Very kid friendly too. The waiter was very helpful and gave us recommendations on entree -bread pairings . Our specialty cocktails (Kashmiri Barrack and another spice based one) were top notch . Kashmiri salad was very average as flavors didn’t come together. The chakri paneer made up for it , very flavorful and burst with flavors . We had daal jhakiya with beet roti and maki ki roti , 10/10 in all , good quality, non greasy fresh food . The daal was the best ever .Indori pulao was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The dessert , Balu shahi, was plated very well , but a tad bit too sweet to our liking , although very well executed. Overall, pleasant experience and we will be back to dine at this restaurant.

Pippal is hands down one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. The food is absolutely outstanding, easily some of the best flavors and execution I’ve tasted recently. Every dish was prepared with care, beautifully presented, and truly a 10/10. The vibe of the restaurant is amazing. From the moment you walk in, the elegance and interior design make it feel like one of the top-end restaurants in the area. It’s classy, modern, and welcoming all at once. Service was excellent across the board—from the front-of-house staff to the kitchen team. Attentive, professional, and genuinely warm. Between the food, service, ambiance, and presentation, Pippal delivers a perfect experience in every aspect. Highly recommended, and I’ll definitely be coming back!!

I stopped by Pippal in Dublin for lunch and had an amazing experience. My wife and I ordered a few drinks, appetizers, and main courses, and everything was delicious. The live chaat was a total standout! So fresh, fun, and bursting with flavor! The butter chicken was incredibly rich and creamy, and the naan had the perfect crisp. Great food, great vibe, and great service. I’ll definitely be coming back!

I recently visited Pipal Dublin, and it was easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. The food was absolutely outstanding — every single dish was packed with flavour and cooked to perfection. I started with the Taj Mahal cocktail, a delicious rum-based drink that was perfectly balanced and refreshing. From there, the dishes just kept impressing me. The Lamb Burrah Kebab was tender and full of rich spices, the Pathar ke Kebab had an amazing smoky, melt-in-your-mouth quality, and the Prawn Pepper Fry delivered the perfect hit of spice. The Chicken Tikka Trio was another highlight, offering different flavours that showed off the kitchen’s skill and creativity. And honestly, there was so much more to enjoy — every single item we ordered was exceptional. The quality of the food, the flavours, and the overall experience make Pipal Dublin a place I can’t recommend highly enough. If you’re looking for incredible Indian cuisine with thoughtful cocktails and top-tier dishes, Pipal Dublin should be at the top of your list.

Had a fantastic experience at Pippal. We’ve been to the Emeryville location before, but this one is closer to home and just as good. We came here to celebrate our 10th anniversary, and everything hit the mark. Even on a packed weekend night, service was smooth (reservation helped). Cocktails were excellent, food was flavorful, and the hospitality really stood out. One of the owners stopped by to check on us and surprised us with a complimentary dessert, their take on payasam, which was absolutely delicious with great play of textures. Standouts: Gurgaon Border & Hawa Mahal cocktails, Arbi Kabab, Andhra Fried Chicken, East India Butter Chicken. Himalayan Junglee Mushrooms were fine, just not a standout. Warm service, great drinks, and memorable food. We’ll definitely be back.

Pippal is a breath of fresh air for the local dining scene! I loved their innovative take on Indian cuisine—it’s familiar yet totally reimagined. The cocktails were expertly crafted and paired perfectly with the meal, but the real showstopper was the dessert. A must-visit if you're looking for something more exciting than your standard curry house. Highly recommend!

Pippal Dublin is a refreshing addition to the Tri-valley dining scene. Its menu is a curated compilation of the best dishes from each region of India and it is well executed. We tried the Arbi Kebab and the Kolkata Fish cutlet for starters. Both were delicious. For the mains we ordered the Laal Maas, the Sarson ka Saag and the Bhopali pulao. The meat in the Laal Maas was cooked to perfection with the meat sliding off the bone. The Saag was delicately spiced and tasty. Although the Makai ki roti ( traditional accompaniment to Sarson ka saag) was not on the menu, they offered to make it for us. The prices for the dishes are steep but competitive with similar upscale Indian restaurants. My main complaint would be the rotis/ breads priced at $8 a piece which is exorbitant IMHO. The decor in muted shades is elegant and the tables spaced conveniently apart make for good conversations without neighboring diners inadvertently eavesdropping on your discussions . The service left a lot to be desired. Our wine order was messed up and we were served a much higher priced wine than the one we ordered. We did not bring it up to them so maybe they would have fixed that. Also for this upscale a restaurant I would expect the server to box the leftovers for us. To be fair , the restaurant has been open for only two weeks now and we were informed that our server was in training. My critique is more so that they improve their service by the time we are back as we will definitely be back for the delicious food.

Pippal in Dublin is hands-down one of the best upscale Indian spots around—gorgeous vibe, killer cocktails, and flavors that actually deliver. The Laal Maas was straight-up awesome (tender, perfectly spiced goat that fell off the bone), and the Daulat ki Chaat was amazing—light, fluffy, and such a fun Delhi-style dessert surprise. Shoutout to Harsh for the exceptional service and to Apurva who kept checking in, genuinely asked for feedback, and offered great suggestions—made the whole night feel special

Very well curated menu, great ambience, Amazing food and even better plating and presentation. Not your run of the mill indian place dishing out Garlic naan and chicken tikka masala. Blown away with their live chaat, unique Indian twist to mundane cocktails, and the assortment of desserts.. This is the Indian place for special occasions.

Amazing experience, ambiance, and food (coming from a picky Punjabi group who are all very particular about our Indian food). Everything was uniquely curated and plated, from the table side chaat to the intentional cocktails to the DELICIOUS desserts. We truly cannot wait to come back. Perfect place to celebrate a birthday/anniversary or just enjoy some delicious food. Perf for veggies and non veggies in our group and unique mocktails as well that were deliciously complex. Wait staff also were all extremely quick and informative, haven’t had this great of an experience in the bay in a while. The pics speak for themselves. 100000/10 & a must try. YUM.

One of the best fine dine Indian restaurants in the bay. We tried prawn pepper fry, naga chicken curry and dosa. 10/10 on all dishes. The service was perfect. We went there to celebrate our anniversary, the owner Taresh came personally to greet us and celebrated our anniversary with a complimentary Daulat-ki-chaat, which was yum! Will definitely be back here!

We visited PIPPAL in Dublin today, and from start to finish, the entire experience was truly outstanding. Right from the moment we called to make a reservation, the hospitality was warm and effortless. Every staff member we interacted with was wonderful, especially the General Manager, Sej Bindra, whose graciousness elevated our visit. Our server, James, was also incredibly kind and attentive — we felt very well taken care of. Food: Every single dish we tried was excellent. From the appetizers, the Pathan Ke Kebab is an absolute must try — truly melt-in-the-mouth perfection. We also enjoyed the shrimp, the chicken tikka trio, and the Pretty Pear and Lychee cocktails. Everything was crafted beautifully and tasted fantastic. For the mains, we had the Chicken Tikka Masala, the Salmon Curry, and the standout dish of the night — the Laal Maas. If you visit, don’t miss the Laal Maas! The accompaniments, naan and rice, were exceptional as well. Honestly, we’ve never had better naan anywhere else. We ended our meal with the delightful Daulat Ki Chaat, and as a lovely surprise, we were treated to payasam on the house by the General Manager. Such a thoughtful gesture! We are so happy to have a restaurant like this in our neighborhood. Highly recommend visiting and trying everything, you won’t be disappointed. Absolutely wonderful experience, and we will definitely be back!

Pippal is an absolute gem in the Tri-Valley, finally, a fine dining option that truly delivers on every front! The food was simply outstanding. The Ladaki thupka was my personal favorite, comforting, aromatic, and delicious. The live chaat trolley was a fun and vibrant touch that elevated the whole experience. Don’t miss the pathar ke kebob. Service was impeccable from start to finish. The ambiance was a perfect 10/10: elegant yet warm, making for the ideal setting whether you’re celebrating or just enjoying a night out. Highly recommend!!

If you’re looking for a dining experience that delights all your senses, Pipal in Dublin is a must-visit! The moment you step in, the green, white, and gold interiors with exquisite German-imported wallpapers take your breath away. We started with their “Arbi ke Kebab” , perfectly spiced, tender, and absolutely unforgettable. The cocktails are equally impressive; the Taj Mahal with lychee juice is a sweet, refreshing treat. For mains, the Litti Chokha and Dal were comforting and flavorful, pairing beautifully together. But the showstopper? Daulat ki Chaat , heavenly whipped saffron cream layered over crunchy boondi, light, airy, and utterly addictive. The fusion Kheer and Phirni were equally delicious. Add in attentive, friendly staff, and you have a dining experience that’s elegant, fun, and utterly memorable. Pipal isn’t just a restaurant …it’s a celebration of flavors, ambiance, and hospitality. Highly recommended for any special occasion or a luxurious night out!

We went here for our anniversary dinner, and it was a wonderful experience. They truly respect reservations, which we really appreciated. The ambiance was excellent, and both the food and service were amazing. What stood out the most was that the owners were present, personally checking on every table and guiding guests about the food. That personal touch made the experience even more special. We absolutely loved it and would highly recommend it.

Pippal is hands-down some of the best Indian food I’ve had in Bay Area. The flavors are incredibly authentic and layered, moving far beyond the standard fare you find at most places. Every dish tasted fresh, vibrant, and perfectly spiced. The service was just as impressive, attentive, warm, and professional throughout the entire meal. If you’re looking for high quality food and a welcoming atmosphere, this is the spot. I’ll definitely be back!

We been meaning to try Pippal for quite sometime. The glowing reviews and what it offers piqued our interest. So, we ended up going to Pippal for dinner one day. We got seated within a minute of us waiting at the front. You can tell it is a upscale fine-dining restaurant with cozy ambience and dimly lit interiors. It is a great setting for couples who want to spend some alone time or for a big group. Both can be accommodated. One thing we noticed was all the waiter staff were super classy and sharp. They communicated and spoke really well, and were efficient. Our waiter and server was amazing. Super knowledgable and nice. The owner I presume was also super warm and nice. He checked in with everybody if they were having a good time. Sometimes, when people are genuinely nice you can see and feel it. That's what I felt here at Pippal. If all the above was not deserving of 5-star, then let's chat about food. I am a super picky eater and I did not find dishes I usually eat on the menu. So we ended up trying what was on the menu - Paneer Parat (Tamilnadu), Bhopal Pulao, Sweet Corn, Beet Root Poori, and the live chaat. They were all carefully and flavorfully cooked. No customization available but that enabled us to taste the full flavors. The bill is not cheap but it is an experience. I highly recommend Pippal. You will go in and come out happy!

We recently celebrated our 24th anniversary at Pippal, Dublin, and it was truly a wonderful experience. From start to finish, we were taken great care of. The service was exceptional, and everything was delivered exactly as promised. Sej, the manager, went above and beyond to make our evening special — even printing a thoughtful thank-you note for our guests. The candle-lit setup was perfect for the occasion and created such a lovely ambiance. Will took excellent care of us with wines and cocktails and was always on his toes, ensuring everything was just right. My husband and I are deeply thankful to Sej and the entire team for taking such great care of our guests. From the initial discussions to the final execution, it was seamless and beautifully done. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making our anniversary celebration truly memorable. 💛

[Pippal Dublin] This place brings amazing dishes from all across India to us, right here in the Bay Area. The most authentic dishes done so so well!! This is legit Indian food done like the locals make it. The service was so incredible that we felt like we were invited guests there. We didn’t like our assigned table, they immediately changed it, gave us free drinks for our inconvenience, and the manager came by to ask if we are comfortable. Coming back to the food…omg everybody needs to try the vegetarian food here. So authentic!! Sooo good!!! The Ladaki thupka, the litti chokha, the table side chaat were vegetarian highlights!! The dessert was to die for!

Classy Indian East Bay Modern Restaurant with cool vibes showcasing Eclectic Creative Cuisine from the different places in India : Kashmir, Lucknow, Andhra, Punjab, Kolkata, Jharkhand, Assam, Uttarakhand, Himachal, Tamilnadu, Karnataka, Jammu, Rajasthan, Kerala, Nagaland, Gujarat, Maharashtra & of course Goa. I felt really happy connecting each of these lovely places through their respective cuisine. The Creativity, Flavor and Presentation of each item definitely merits this place a Michelin Recommendation. Love the soft lighting Jazz Bar feel of the place and the service is most attentive. My plan of action was executed with three dishes (Chaat Trolley, Himalayan Jungli Mushrooms, Parsi Fish Curry) with two of their designer cocktails (Mysore Punch, Baaga Beach) and a plan for a repeat visit soon with friends to try them all on their outdoor heated patio on Santa Rita. Cheers .

Nice upscale restaurant in Dublin. The food was great and the atmosphere was awesome. The wait times were long so better have a reservation especially on weekends. We did have to wait despite of a reservation but we were a big group. The food is a little on the spicy side , ensure you talk to the server about the spice levels. The food was authentic and saw cuisines from all over India north to south and saw some dishes from East of India which was awesome.

We went to Pippal for dinner last night and had such an amazing experience! The owners have done a great job of creating an upscale vibe while keeping the heart of Indian food alive. The ambience was warm and inviting, and the service was excellent, attentive but not over the top. What really stood out to me was the menu. It’s not your typical Indian restaurant menu. It feels like they’ve brought together the best dishes from different regions of India and given them a fresh twist without losing their soul. I tried a Lucknow-style lamb dish called Pathar Ke Kebabs. I’ve never had anything like it before! The kebabs were tender, moist, and full of flavor. The Chakri Paneer was also fantastic. Just loved the way the cashews, spinach, and spices came together, all wrapped in a thin layer of paneer. We also tried the Dal Jakhiya which is a unique take on yellow dal. Honestly, I’m going back this week just to have that dal again. I wish I had taken some food pictures because everything looked beautiful too. Highly recommend checking this place out if you’re in Dublin and want something truly special.

I have been to Pippal in Dublin couple of times, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The ambiance is warm and elegant, the staff are welcoming and attentive, and every dish is beautifully presented with authentic Indian flavors and a creative twist. It’s the kind of place where you can truly enjoy a memorable meal — perfect for a special evening or to simply indulge in exceptional food and hospitality. We were bunch of friends celebrating our tournament win and the drinks kept flowing. Cocktails are definitely a must haves. Do not miss out on trying this amazing restaurant. FIVE STARS

What an amazing new spot for dinner and drinks! A huge congratulations to owner. The food and drinks take their roots straight from India, with flavors that are bold, authentic, and beautifully presented. Every dish is crafted with care, and the ambiance is perfect — whether you’re taking your special someone out for a birthday, or bringing business clients to close that big deal. The prices are just right for upscale dining, and the service and atmosphere make you want to stay for one more drink (or two!). I’ll definitely be coming back again and again for the food, the drinks, and the great vibes.

Pippal Dublin — A Sensory Feast At the Official Soft Launch Two days ago, I had the privilege of experiencing Pippal Dublin during their pre-opening — and wow, what a treat. This isn’t just another Indian restaurant — it’s a reimagination of regional Indian cuisine done with boldness, elegance, and creativity. ✨ What I Ordered (and Loved): • Quinoa Bhel — light, tangy, and the perfect modern twist to a classic • Mushroom Galouti — unbelievably soft, flavorful, rich with umami • Andhra Fried Chicken — crispy, spicy, and addictive (get two plates) • 🍸 Gurgaon Border — one of the most unique cocktails I’ve tried — smooth, layered, and memorable 🍽️ The Vibe The interior is beautifully done — warm tones, cozy corners, and a bar you actually want to sit at. The staff made it feel like a celebration, not a test run. You’d never guess this was pre-opening — everything ran like clockwork. 💬 Final Word Pippal Dublin is going to be the go-to Indian food destination in the East Bay. It already feels like a place you’ll take your out-of-town friends to impress — or slip into solo when you’re craving something special. P.S.: Don’t skip the cocktails. They’re on another level. I for sure will be visiting you guys again.

Payasam: A Symphony of Subtle Sweetness From the moment this dessert was placed in front of me, I felt an unexpected sense of wonder. It wasn’t just beautifully presented, it was simple but elegant. A nest of golden threads resting gently on a pool of cream, lightly kissed with pistachio and crowned by a tiny violet. It felt almost too delicate to touch. Then came the first bite, and it stopped me in my tracks. The crisp layers gave way to a softness and sweetness so balanced it felt almost poetic. Each flavor unfolded gracefully, a hint of rose, the warmth of nuts, the coolness of the cream, everything in quiet harmony. It was elegant without being indulgent, sweet but never heavy. I don’t usually reach for dessert, but this one made me rethink everything I thought I knew about sweets. It wasn’t just a dish; it was an experience that left me smiling long after the last bite. A true celebration of craft, beauty, and balance.

Absolutely Outstanding Experience at Pippal, Dublin! Pippal is hands down one of the best Indian dining experiences in Dublin, truly unforgettable. From the moment we walked in, everything was exceptional. The live chaat was an absolute showstopper and a clear 10/10. Fresh, perfectly balanced, and bursting with flavor, it alone is worth the visit. The paneer kebab was beautifully cooked, soft on the inside with a perfect char, and simply delicious. The dal was rich, comforting, and full of depth, another 10/10. And the sarson ka saag was out of this world. Authentic, soulful, and cooked to perfection, easily a 10/10 again. The breads were excellent, fresh, fluffy, and the perfect accompaniment to every dish. Just when we thought it could not get better, the desserts arrived. The daulat ki chaat and ghewar were both phenomenal, light, indulgent, and an easy 10/10 each. What truly elevated the experience was the hospitality. The owner personally came over to chat with us, making us feel genuinely welcome and cared for, a thoughtful touch that is rare to find. I would highly, highly recommend Pippal to anyone looking for authentic flavors, exceptional food, and warm hospitality. This place is a gem, and I cannot wait to return.

We tried Pippal on our anniversary and it indeed did give a nice lounge atmosphere experience. Great ambiance and lounge music. Food was unique and tasty. We had appetizers, main course and dessert. The best part was that our stomach felt light after having everything. Our server Arshdeep was very kind and helpful. Overall great service and good food!

We went here on Thursday afternoon. This restaurant has a great atmosphere and is really beautiful. The appetizers were good. We got the chicken tikka trio… it was flavorful but portion wise it won’t be enough for a family of 4 with good eaters. The Rajma salad was filling and tasty. The best appetizer is the mushroom momo which was super tasty. But we only got 3 pieces. We ordered the malai kofta but I wouldn’t recommend it. It doesn’t taste like the traditional one. The rotis and naans were so-so. I feel you would get better quality naan at a different restaurant. We loved their Ghewar dessert which I didn’t see in the online menu put was there in the dine-in menu. That was super flavorful and loaded with ghee. For drinks we got the pink city and lychee fizz… loved both the mocktails. Our waiter was very kind and she changed out our plates between each course. I am super grateful for that. Overall I would recommend this restaurant for special occasions. Price wise it is pricey compared to their quality but definitely a feel good experience for a celebration.

Good Experience! The live chat trolley was a fun twist... loved it! Food was on point - butter chicken was savory (no sweetness!), beetroot roti was a hit, and lacha parantha was 🔥 all delicious! We did feel the service was a bit off for us on a two people table..

We went there on a Sunday night to celebrate my son's birthday. The place was very busy and quite noisy. Food was decent and came out fairly quickly. The service was friendly but not as efficient as it should be. A lot of servers but no cohesion. Overall a pleasant experience. A good addition to the Dublin restuarant list.

We had a wonderful dining experience! The chaat trolley, Malai Kofta, and dal were all great, and our daughter enjoyed non-veg starter and biryani. The service was attentive, and the ambiance was lovely. The owner's gesture of sending kheer to celebrate our anniversary was a lovely touch. It's experiences like these that make dining out special.

Recommended by a friend and have had dinner twice so far. Quality and flavor of ordered appetizers - Top Notch; esp Pathar Ke Kababs are top class as of date of having dinner. Tried Fish Cutlets, AFC and Veg Kabab in addition to the mentioned & Cocktails (Green Apple Infused Bourbon cocktail ); very fancy but hits the right notes. Lucknow style chicken biryani is a hit and a miss - Cornish Hen is difficult to manage in family style consumption. Taste is superb but a biryani needs a bit of "dum" else this is more of a flavored rice with chicken rather a true biryani. Will recommend based on the above experience. FYI this is under a management that runs many restaurants in the Bay Area like, ROOH/FITOOR/Baithak etc.

After years of searching for authentic Kashmiri Gustaba in the Bay Area, I finally followed a lead to this stunning Dublin eatery. While the interiors are undeniably fancy and the service for our group of 5 was seamless, the food journey was a bit of a rollercoaster. The Highlights: Pathar ka Kabab (Lucknowi): A standout. Aromatic, tender, and deeply flavorful. Chicken Tikka Trio: Each piece had a distinct, well-marinated personality. Naga Chicken Curry: Unexpectedly great. The infusion of lemongrass and curry leaves was unique and paired perfectly with the Lachha Paratha. Lucknowi Chicken Biryani: A surprise presentation with a whole chicken! The rice was subtle, smooth, and the addition of craisins added a nice modern touch. Quantity was enough for at least 2 persons. Veg Manchow Soup: This was a polarizing dish. It was heavy on the spices and sauces, deviating quite a bit from the traditional Indo-Chinese profile. In our group of five, three enjoyed the bold punch, while two found it a bit too intense. The Letdowns: The Gustaba Quest: Unfortunately, the search continues. Instead of the traditional, velvety meatballs made from finely pounded mutton and fat, this was more of a ground meat "mound"(check photo). It lacked the authentic texture I’ve had in Kashmir. It’s a decent dish if you don’t call it Gustaba, but for a purist, it misses the mark. Malai Kofta: Overpowered by cardamom to the point of being inedible. However, the manager was very gracious, took our feedback seriously, and handled it well. At $60/head (no alcohol and including a mandatory 20% gratuity), it’s a "splurge" meal. Come for the ambiance and the Naga curry, but Kashmiri traditionalists might want to keep their expectations in check. The ambiance is top-tier and some dishes really shine, but for me to come back to this restaurant, I think I need a bit of convincing (or a friend's treat). Ill surely update if i come back here.

Pippal Dublin offers a modern, upscale take on Indian cuisine, and our recent visit was an overall decent experience with a few standout moments and a few misses. Drinks: We tried the kids’ mango lassi, U.P. Fizz, and Goan Breeze. The U.P. Fizz was refreshing and well balanced. The Goan Breeze, while flavorful, was a bit too strong for our liking. Our 3.5-year-old absolutely loved the mango lassi and finished it completely. Food: From the kids’ menu, the waffle fries were a hit, though quite pricey for what they were. The Rajmah Salad was one of the highlights of the meal—unique, thoughtfully put together, and full of varied textures. We really enjoyed trying something different here. The tawa sabji was also good and satisfying. The Bhopali pulao, however, didn’t quite land for us—it was drier than expected and definitely needed an accompanying dish to enjoy fully, which led us to order the boondi raita. The garlic naan was excellent: light, soft, and easy to chew. Dessert stole the show—the ghevar was fantastic, truly melt-in-your-mouth and memorable. Service: Service was fast, which we appreciated. However, kids’ items were not served in kid-friendly dishware—the mango lassi came in a glass cup, which required constant vigilance with a young child at the table. The waiter was fine but fairly neutral; there weren’t many proactive recommendations beyond suggesting the dal. Nothing wrong, but also nothing that stood out as going above and beyond. Cost: This is where Pippal struggles a bit. The pricing feels steep for what’s delivered. The tawa sabji at $28 is the most we’ve paid for this dish, and the kids’ fries at $14 also felt hard to justify. The restaurant is priced on par with places like Rooh SF, but the experience didn’t quite feel on the same level to warrant it. Ambiance & Overall: The ambiance is nice and works well for family outings or special occasions. That said, it’s not an easy place to visit regularly due to the pricing. We’d consider returning for a special meal, but not as a frequent dining spot. Overall verdict: Good food with a few standout dishes, pleasant ambiance, but pricing holds it back from being a go-to favorite.

We were quite excited to visit Pippal, having heard some good things about it. Beyond the fact that it’s an Indian restaurant, we weren’t entirely sure what to expect—but that was part of the intrigue. It was a Friday night, yet we didn’t have much of a wait, which was a pleasant start. The dining room is spacious and inviting, with just the right level of buzz to make it a great spot for a group night out. I particularly liked that most of the wait staff were dressed in traditional Indian attire—it added a nice touch of authenticity to the ambience. The drinks were decent. I ordered their take on an Old Fashioned—bourbon, chocolate bitters, and ghee—which was surprisingly well balanced. The ghee and chocolate softened the bourbon’s edge beautifully, and the side of caramel popcorn, as unlikely as it sounded, actually worked. My friends ordered non-alcoholic drinks that looked over-iced and overly sweet, which didn’t seem quite as successful. The food, however, was where the excitement started to taper off. For starters, we had the Lamb Burrah, Chicken Tikka Trio, and Paneer. The Lamb Burrah turned out to be a deep-fried lamb cutlet—certainly not a kebab in any traditional sense. While it was soft and tasted fine, it wasn’t what I expected, and the portion sizes were disappointingly small. Normally I wouldn’t mind smaller portions if the food stood out, but this felt average at best, leaving us a bit underwhelmed. For entrées, we ordered the Malai Kofta, Laal Maas, and Butter Chicken. The Butter Chicken was reliably good—mild, but not objectionably so. The Laal Maas, much like the Burrah, was tasty but misnamed—flavorful, yet not what you’d call Laal Maas in spirit or spice. The Malai Kofta leaned too sweet for my taste, though my friends didn’t seem to mind as much. By dessert time, we’d lost interest. The staff’s enthusiasm seemed to fade too, which didn’t help the mood. When the check arrived, we noticed a ‘mandatory’ large-party gratuity added on—even though we were a party of five, and the menu clearly stated it applied to parties of six or more. We weren’t fussy guests (at least, I don’t think so), so that came as a surprise. By then, we just wanted to wrap things up—and frankly, it felt like the staff did too. We left Pippal hoping not to repeat the experience. Do I regret eating there? Probably not. Would I go back? Definitely not.

Inefficient, total chaos and mediocre... We visited Pippal for our 4th anniversary celebration (drove 30 miles) and it served us a great disappointment. I reserved the restaurant one week in advance for dinner at 8pm. We showed up at 07:55 pm, checked in with the host and were taken to our table immediately. Then started the total chaos and unfolding of layers of disappointment. I reserved the table for 2 and they took us to a table of 6. Apparently they didn't account for my reservation. We sat their for 10 mins without anyone attending us, presenting us the menu or even getting us water/ drink. Finally, some generous lady manager (Bella) saw us sitting without a server and took it upon her to get us started. Those 2 stars rating belong to her. Everything else was a bumpy downhill journey thereafter. Some server finally showed up and took our orders. We ordered fish cutlet (average taste) and mushroom guolotti (also average taste). The order came in after waiting for 15 mins. We were able to get through our starters and waited for another 25 mins for the server to attend us. At this point I had lost hope of any decent service or apologies. We saw 2 large groups getting in and they were given all the attention with swarm of servers surrounding them. And we were desperately waiting for someone to take our main course order. After 25 mins, we finally ordered the main course. The food took another 15 mins to show up. The garlic naan that we ordered came out cold. The entree was not warm at all. It felt like the food was prepared and no one bothered to get it to us in time and was sitting on the service platform for a while. Anyways, I asked some other restaurant manager to get a warmer naan as the colder one which was served to us wad very chewy. We worked through the food and weren't impressed at all. Such an average tasting food that didn't justify the cost at which it was offered. After completing the main course our plates were removed and fresh set of silverware and dishes were brought to us. I was hoping that someone would bring us dessert menu so we waited for 20 more mins. All this to make sure that my anniversary dinner experience didn't go down the drain. But as expected no one bothered to attend us timely, check on us if we needed anything or gave us any decent or the least expected service. I finally gave up and asked for the check. Surprisingly the check showed up with no one to take back my credit card. Out of frustration I walked to the host and paid up at the checking desk. This was the one of the worst dining experience I have had at a place that calls itself a fine dine restaurant. Never visiting again and Never recommending to anyone. Kudos restaurant staff for spoiling my anniversary celebration. PS. I have been to their other restaurant Fitoor and Rooh and they are slightly better than Pippal. Avoid if you can and save that money to spend elsewhere.

Pipal – Dublin, CA The food at Pipal was incredible and delicious. The table-side chaat experience was unique and imaginative, and honestly a highlight of the meal. Everything we ordered was really, really good — especially the dessert, which stood out the most. From a food perspective alone, I would give this place a 9/10. Unfortunately, the service and overall professionalism completely undermined what could have been a great experience. Our waiter was initially great. When it came time to pay, he asked if I wanted to pay by card and whether it was okay for him to bring the card reader to the table, which I agreed to. The original bill was $131.89 plus tax and tip, but when he ran my card, he entered $149 plus tax, and I then added an 18% tip on top of that. I was confused but didn’t push back because the food and service had been good. After we left, my wife realized we had been charged more than the original bill. I chose not to go back in, assuming mistakes happen and that it would work itself out. Later that same day, the restaurant called my wife accusing us of not paying for our meal. I already had a pending charge on my Chase card, so I knew we had paid. I spoke directly to the waiter, explained the situation, and he said, “Oh yeah, now I remember,” and apologized for bothering us. They had called using the phone number we provided through OpenTable. Despite this, the restaurant proceeded to call my wife 2–3 more times over the next two days, continuing to accuse us of not paying. I finally answered and explained — again — that not only did we pay, but we were actually charged more than our bill, and I didn’t dispute it. I told them I had a confirmed credit card transaction from Pipal for $173.66 and asked them to never contact us again. The woman on the phone was rude, dismissive, and continued to accuse us of not paying despite clear proof. This was one of the most unprofessional situations I’ve ever experienced at a restaurant. We were overcharged, still left an 18% tip, and then were repeatedly harassed and accused of not paying for a meal we clearly paid for. Amazing food — but the handling of payment and customer service was unacceptable. I will never come here again!

Updated as of Jan 21 2026. This was our second visit to Pippal in Dublin, and unfortunately it was disappointing. We found a hair in the chaat and brought it to the attention of both the server and the manager, but there was no action taken—no replacement and no follow-up. The food overall was just average, and the service felt inattentive. We had requested extra bharta with the litti chokha, but it never arrived. The kofta of malai kofa tasted like rubber. It was so hard to chew. The quality and standards have noticeably declined since our last visit Old update: I booked this place in advance for our wedding anniversary. No doubt the ambience is A+. But the place was sooo crowded that some of the items we wanted to order was out of stock :( It was such a bummer. The food we ordered was delicious. Will try give it a second chance. Definitely one time go!
