We've visited this Korean restaurant several times, and each visit has been a delight. The food is consistently excellent, with the kimchi fried rice being a standout favorite. The staff is exceptionally friendly, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. Although the space is on the smaller side, they offer a convenient takeout option, and the food is always carefully packed. While the prices are not on the lower side, the quality of the dishes makes it worth every penny. We'll definitely be coming back!

A restaurant that stays true to the original taste of these old dishes. I’ve been disappointed by a handful of other well known Korean restaurants on El Camino as they’ve been making their dishes way too sweet to make it more palatable for the masses. I’ll probably come back here often whenever I come back to SJ. I got soondae gopchang guk and jjokbal :)

Hands down one of my favorite cold noodle shops now! Absolutely yummy!!! For the price and portion it’s so worth to come and visit. Come early since they are a small shop they cannot house a lot of people at once. This cold noodle dish, seafood pancake were bomb! Very good! Their side dishes portion is very generous! Coworkers were all very nice and welcoming. Highly recommend visiting here if nearby the area.

The food was very good. They were very generous on the side dishes.I also love their barley tea. We ordered the seafood pancake, spicy pork ribs, and the fried fish. It come with rice too. Everything was almost half gone and that's how good it was. I recommend coming here.

Hands down changed my prejudice on boiled pork 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 the dish is called bossam 🙂‍↔️ it’s sliced steamed/boiled pork belly that you get to wrap in kimchi-ish cabbage and sliced radish with a RAW OYSTER!!!! if you do it right it’s a perfectttr bite of flavor explosion from the creaminess of the oyster, the tanginess of the kimchi, and the porky pork. We also got the blood sausage and it’s so so good. It’s not just vermicelli wrapped sausage but you can also taste the bloood which is not too gamey. The place is run by three old Korean aunties who are so nice and cute and cool. i aspire to be them when i grow up.

I am so glad that Ive finally found a place that satisfies my cravings for pork rib soup! The soup was really good! The soup contains many pork ribs pieces, with some vegetables, and rice cakes. The pork ribs are filled with flavor, and cooked to super tender. AND!!!! when you are almost done with the soup, they put 2 bowls of rice into the soup and mix it into a kimchi rice dish. The rice ends up absorbing all the goodness in the soup and it is so flavorful! The seafood pancake was heavenly as well. Not only that it contains actual seafood, but also the pancake was the perfect texture, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It was seasoned very well with scallion and some other magical stuff. The palace gets a bit busy around dinner time but the staff are super friendly and helpful, and they try really hard to make your experience more pleasant despite the long wait.

Jangtu is a very authentic korean casual sit down restaurant. It is a very small restaurant making it have a line outside most of the time. Waitlist is written in person on a paper It is pretty crowded for dinner and wait times may take up to 1 hour due to the nature of the way the dishes are served and eaten. Food is very good with refillable side dishes. I highly recommend the 2 person shareable as they give you the choice of white rice or “kimchi fried rice” which they add the rice to your pan of food at the end. (Btw this will definitely fill two people) Lots of parking outside as its in a big plaza. Would recommend if you wanna check out one of the many korean restaurants on El Camino!

Both were very delicious but the ribs didn't have much meat on them and were very difficult to eat without making a mess and didn't have a place to put the bones so we had to sacrifice a couple of side dishes. They also make a kimchi fried rice from the leftover broth. Servers are very kind and can see their smiles through the masks despite being very busy. Beer wasn't on the menu but there were a few lagers to choose from including soju. Very busy on a Saturday evening so expecting a wait for the first come first serve queue.

It’s my second time dining here with my friend. The Soondae Guk dish is really good!The kimchi side dishes are very tasty too. The staffs are very friendly. The whole fish our next table ordered looks pretty nice too 😂 We finished almost everything! Definitely recommend it to everyone and we’ll be back.

Small but very tasty selection of home style Korean food.

I like the way the server talks to customers. So kind and taste is fine. But only the Goat meat soup wasn't my style.

Homely Korean place. We ordered the ribs with kimchi and vegetables for 2 people. The portion is big enough for 3 people or if you are really hungry. :)

Great gamjatang! The portions were huge. Way more than we could eat and couldnt finish the whole meal but the soup was great.

We ordered the seafood pancake, sausage soup and jokbal (mild pork dish) for dinner. Jokbal was tasty but cold instead of being at room temperature and looked like its was pressed. We expected a dish with lots of fresh leafy vegetables to act as a wrap. Sausage soup was excellent. Ambiance was very 'local' with boxes stacked against the wall. I feel like I am in a neighborhood restaurant in Seoul. We'll be back to sample other interesting dishes.

Came right at opening time on a Saturday and the place was packed. They seem to have a lot of regulars which says a lot about the quality of the food and service. Had soy bean paste soup, which hits the spot on a cold day. The Jang Tu noodles were good, but less flavorful than I expected and would prefer a firmer noodle texture. Service was great, the Ajimas were all very friendly!

Taste good but the restaurant smells bad. Also we found a hair in our pancake, and the water cup is pretty dirty. Gam ja tang was really nice and the fried rice after eating was perfect

The beef quality was not good but I couldn’t complain with the price range. The complementary appetizers was handful as lots of other Korean restaurant did. The service was responsive and welcoming.

The soy bean stew was delicious. Waiting time can vary, we got our table within 20 min. Staffs are always polite and friendly but they rushed us out because people were waiting to be seated. We didn’t even stay 30 min. to eat..

Came here on a weeknight with another friend and had no wait here. Food: We got the spicy rice cake and the soondae Guk. The spicy rice cake was a huge portion size not bad! The soondae guk was a little off putting with the balls of noodles but still not too shabby. I didn’t find the appetizers too good but we still got refills. Service: The waiters aren’t super super attentive but were nice and didn’t kick us out of the restaurant even after they closed. Ambiance: Really casual place and not super clean but it’s a decent place to go if you’re craving Korean!

Ladies work there are super nice. Food tasted overly sweet and not savory enough. We got dak galbi and bossam - bossam was decent but dak galbi was really bad. Side dishes are just ok. Wouldn’t go back or recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I ordered intestine and sausage soup with pork organ meat. The intestines were not cleaned thoroughly so they still have the white thing in them which is very likely pig food or whatever in intestines. Also the side dishes couldn't even cover the tiny container bottoms. Will not recommend this place.

But I'm still upset when I remind it. First, low quality food. I have never seen that jokbal which is a pig food. Even I'm Korean. Second, low quality service. They are so rude to customers.

Sorry but the food quality is really off…The shrimp and crab tastes like they’ve been frozen for a thousand years… ended up spending $90 for 2 with only ordering smaller dishes. The flavor is ok, but the food quality is definitely not ok with this price.

Really awful customer service. The tall Korean lady with permed hair was extremely rude, condescending, and talked to us like we were primary students doing something wrong the whole time.

The menu didn’t specify that the pork bulgogi and doenjang jjigae was spicy. We ordered it thinking it wouldn’t be, and when it came, we told the waiter there was a misunderstanding. She was very short on patience and just apologized before walking away without waiting for a reply. The restaurant was not busy, only two other parties besides us, so I don’t know why she just walked away without listening. We told her we can’t eat spicy foods, and the next dish also came out spicy. Now we have two dishes we cannot eat, and the restaurant did not provide alternatives or suggestions. I am not happy with the service and lack of clarity on the menu. I had high hopes for this restaurant, the food looked amazing from the photos.

I’ve been coming here for over 10 years. The food was never amazing, but since there aren’t many places around that serve soondae, I used to stop by every now and then. After COVID though, I’ve been really disappointed. I understood the price increases during the pandemic since everything was going up, but they’ve continued raising prices little by little every few months. Honestly, I’m not sure if I’ll be coming here as often as I used to
