Rubio's El Cajon Reviews
We eat rubios at least 3 times monthly. Always delicious and healthy too. Thank you
It was early for dinner so it was quiet, the employee who took my order was very nice and helped me with my club membership. I did not wait long and tried the new fish and chips pkate. Was excellent, nice to get not very crispy fries
Love the team and the food at this location. Nikki, Samantha & Samuel treat you like family and work so hard!
The manager and the person that rang me up (Nicole) were just wonderful - so kind and professional. Please extend my appreciation to both of them. It was a large party catering order, I showed up 30 min early and they had it all ready early and the order was perfect - nothing missing!!! Thank you for making the holiday that much easier
I came inside to eat and I was attempting to use my app for the first time, but it was not working properly. The cashier was nice enough to get it working properly.
Great food and staff is so fast knowledgeable and friendly. We go out of our way to go to this location.
Pick up order ready on time & order correct. I don’t like that I was limited to only 3 sides (salsa, like, cilantro) but I know if I’d had more time I could’ve made my own. My recommendation was they make their to go salsa containers larger & there’d be less waste. Still pleasant counter staff & overall great experience.
Great staff. The Taco Especial was very good. The sauce is a little different than the usual fish taco, but good. A nice quantity of fish in each taco too.
The OG fish taco combo plate for $10 is my go to lunch once a week! They also have amazing chicken street tacos!!
Living out of state, we try to visit Rubios whenever we're in San Diego. The fish tacos are just sooooo good and the menu variety pretty stacked. Used to get the enchilada in the past, but it looks as if they don't offer them any longer. This location was clean with limited seating. No crowd! Staff was polite and helpful. Can't wait to return for more fish taco greatness!
Good food as you would expect from Rubios, service was a little slow and resturant vibe wasn't really there.
Always fresh ingredients, my only issue was no salad dressing was in my bag, I didn’t know until I got home.
The clerk who takes your order during the 1pm to 2pm weekdays is the best. She is so positive and works with the customers to give them the best customer service. I didn't get her name but she is a tall, African American young lady. She is amazing.
Food was alright. Almost like a step above Chipotle. I asked for no tomatoes and such in my burrito. They added it anyway, so that sorta ruined that entire piece of food for me. I dont know what kind of cheese they use for their loaded fries but it was like stiff glue. Perhaps a more melty gooey cheese would please more. Everything else wasn't too note worthy either. My husband said he would probably return again. But its a no from me.
There's many many many other mexican restaurants in the area that are waaaaaaaaay better. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me, fool me three times.....not gonna happen. I'm so disappointed on MULTIPLE LEVELS. I don't jump straight to bad reviews but I tried the appropriate channel's first. I used to actually be an employee a decade ago, so I know how great Rubio's can be, and once was. About a month ago I placed an order for pickup on national guacamole day. Staff was very nice and pleasant, but once we got home and opened our food it was rather sad. The fish taco especial's that I ordered had a DASH of guacamole on one end of the taco. Meanwhile the fish in the other taco was barely even half the length of the taco itself. Also I'm not sure if this changed over the years but I thought all fish taco especials came with a lime on the side.....no limes at all. Then to make matters worse the side of guacamole and chips which is $3.79, (full disclosure, I had a coupon since it was national guacamole day for free chips and guacamole) was a very pathetic half side of guacamole (I'm glad I didn't pay for that) that you can see in the photos. Beans were bland So I contacted corporate to let them know of my experience. A very nice corporate person named Veronica De La Rosa wrote me a very nice email letting me know that this is not the consistency they strive for and she'd be crediting me with a $20 credit. I appreciated the gesture even though my bill was $41.20 (which she could see since she had access to my previous order). A few weeks later I thought I'd give rubio's another shot, but as I pulled up the app to redeem this $20 credit, nothing is there......🤔. I responded to the email 2 days ago letting Veronica De La Rosa know that she never did what she said she'd already done and there's no reply. My family and still went ahead and ordered again without this credit and it wasn't bad.....but it wasn't what rubio's once was. So rubio's I wish you well but my family and I will not be customer's again.
I've been eating at Rubio's since the first opened in PB, today stopped in at the magnolia Rubio's and had the fish taco especial plate and was horrible the fish tasted fishy even leaving a bad taste in my mouth, no avocado, and after eating the beans and drinking water still had the bad fish taste
Cold chicken 🐔 burrito and chips were horrible. Tables and chairs not clean will not return, and I do not recommend this location. Don't waste your time and money here. I think Rubio's has gone downhill and is no longer for me. There are so many better choices that have much better food. And systems in place to have a clean table and chairs so sick of Rubio's having no clean tables and cold food horrible chips I'm done with Rubio's. It has gone downhill and is no longer worth wasting your money and time. Totally fast food garbage. Rubio's has turned to pure garbage. All locations are horrible and serve unhealthy cold food. If a Mexican dump has horrible cold chips and salsa and never has clean tables and seats. It's a total waste. It's time to shut down. All Rubio's just fast, cold junk food. Stop eating at the fast food unhealthy Rubio's it's over. I'm spreading the word to my 37 million visitors.
