La Fonda El Centro Reviews
Great food and fast polite service.
Stopped by here after a recommendation from our Uber driver. Great food and very kind waitress.Very attentive and surprisingly fast food. Would have loved to visit again but we were only there for a few days
I ordered to go. The service both on the phone and when I arrived was welcoming and friendly, as well as accurate. The food was exactly what I had been craving. A perfectly made special quesadilla - not greasy, light and fluffy. My husband said his carne asada burrito was just right. We will enjoy their restaurant again soon!
The chicken with mole was amazing! Very rich, and not overly sweet mole. Chicken was so tender and portions were huge for the price. Service was happy and friendly and I'll definitely go back.
Service was great!!! friendly and patient with us and our 6 yr old who didn't know what she wanted ...we had our food in under 30 minutes...it tasted so good and fresh.... The dining area was nice and clean...one of the best restaurants I have been to in a long time...
Whenever I come down here for work I make sure to drop by for some great food and service. As soon as you walk in you're greeted and seated and given some really good chips and salsa. Try the Chile Colorado or the Barbacoa! You will not be disappointed. Also the prices are very reasonable.
We had dinner at this restaurant. The food with the price was really good for East coast folks like us, our waitress was friendly and helpful, the atmosphere is nice. The service is a bit slow but maybe they were understaffed and at that time more people coming in. Overall we happy and hopefully next time we’re in the area, we’ll definitely eat here again.
A local favorite for Mexican cuisine. If you are not familiar with the terminology, ask the kind waitresses and they will be happy to translate the various selections. This is a family run business in its second generation. If you’re lucky, you may be able to meet the owner and learn the amazing history of this restaurant. There’s a full bar in here, slightly segmented away from the restaurant. Excellent food!! We love their special quesadillas, deep fried and full of flavor. You can request any type of meat inside. My only request would be to upgrade their salad lettuce from ice berg to something with nutrition - some spinach would take their salads to another level!
I've got to say, I don't know that I have ever given a place three stars across the board. I had eaten here months before, and didn't have a strong recollection of it. Perhaps this is why. They were quick to bring out chips and salsa. The salsa was spicy but lacked flavor, and the chips, though seemingly made in-house, were made many, many hours before my arrival. The pork in my chili verde was fork tender, but again, had no real flavor. It was a perfect match for the blah beans and rice. The margarita, on the other hand, was mostly sweet margarita mix. When I asked for the check with food still on my plate, the server didn't even ask if I wanted a to-go container. Perhaps she got the sense that I would have said no. This is why I started writing these reviews many years ago. So I could look at it at some future point to see if a place was worth revisiting. I have to say that I don't know that I'll be back.
If I didn't have to leave a star I wouldn't. I don't recommend the spot. I have to say I'm a person who can eat pretty much anything without being picky. The dishes on the menu all sound delicious, unfortunately you don't receive quality. Chicken and beef were unseasoned and dry. Two of my family members beef dishes were uncooked. Truthfully my party of 8 was overall extremely unsatisfied. The service was pretty horrible, server came 3 times in total to our table. First time to seat us and ask for drinks. Second time to take our order. Third to bring the food. Here's the thing on a small sign on the wall, they state that FOR PARTIES OVER 6 THEY AUTOMATICALLY CHARGE 18% TIP! Yet for the service we received and the meal. It was not deserved at all! To top it off, the cashier still wanted to fool us into giving us the option of PAYING MORE TIP! Yet we were never informed about the automatic tip. The restaurant itself is beautiful in decoration and detail but unfortunately we will not be returning.
Never going to return, Service was horrible. Waiter forgot my drink and when it finally arrived, never came back. Tried to waive down a couple of waiters during my meal, but no result. The tacos were meat with guacamole on top. Charged for a draft beer when I was brought a bottle of beer.
Worst food and service ever, if that were the last place to eat, I would rather starve.. waitress was rude as ever, my chili relleons were Awful, the breading was doughy and cold, when I brought it up to Our waitress, she kinda said to bad, well, hope you enjoyed your dollar tip we left you.. never ever going back
