Fernandet El Palmar Reviews
The food was delicious. I stopped by for a Menudo and a Michelada and both were very well. Tatiana was my server and her attitude and service was outstanding.
Great Mexican food. Good portion sizes. I recommend the torta Cubana and the plato de carne asada. Staff was friendly. Atmosphere was vibing with tv's and music.
Excellent Micheladas!! Best place in town. Definitely great service too!! Love Latino places with Latino employees

I returned to El Palmar with my family after over a decade and was pleasantly surprised by the renovations—the restaurant looks better than ever. The staff was incredibly kind and provided exceptional service. I ordered my usual carne asada burrito with cheese, and it tasted just as amazing as I remembered. El Palmar truly has the best burritos of any Mexican restaurant I’ve been to. A hidden gem with great food and service—I’ll definitely be back!
I'm from Mexico City...so I tend to be very demanding when it comes to mexican food... EL RINCON DEL PALMAR Was fantastic and beyond expectations. The Chiles rellenos were delicately and perfectly covered in a perfect and delicious egg batter. The Chile stuffed with delicious cheese was perfect. Served with rice, beans and a salad...it made for a perfect lunch. I had some flower tortillas and they were also perfect. In conclusion: this is the best, most authentic mexican food i have had on all of mill valley. Highly recommend this restaurant. Family owned...terrific service
I only go their because it's the only place near me with a relatively large burrito that isn't called "super/jumbo" as it slightly exceeds 6 inches. I need the whole thing. My criteria is that it needs to be nearing the size of my forearm to be considered a jumbo or a super even.
This place has upped its game over the last couple years. Food quality has improved. Now this place is a real restaurant, not just a burrito joint. Sit down, get a menu, order. I don't know what changed. New family? New owner? One of San Rafael's best Mexican restaurants now.
The food is really good. The meat especially very delicious. The waitresses here so very kind. One waitress who had dark long hair and red lipstick , thank you for helping my elderly mother with diluting her drink with water . So very kind. Above and beyond.
Tatiana was so kind to help us with menu suggestions for our kids! they loved it and we'll be back for the great family atmosphere, kids meals, and service.

Yikes. Food was OK but not remarkable. Albondiga meat could have had more seasoning, was bland. Same for the milanesa. Also could have had 6 meatballs not 4. Service was excellent by the waitresses. However the 2 real issues with this place are: charging a tip already when bringing the change back. Denny's was sued for this years back so be careful. Then the worst, this place has Morena propaganda plastered all over the place. Might want to change name to "El Rincon del Chairo"?🤣. Especially being entrepreneurs, I don't get why they would support such a commie party. Part of the reason Mexicans have to leave their homeland is to escape that political corruption but you can count on good ole Rincon del Chairo to rub it on your face no matter what direction you turn to.
I wanted to give this place 5 stars. The service was great when I came in they greeted me and the order went fast and the food came out fast. But the carne asada tacos weren’t as good as the place I usually go to. The meat wasn’t seasoned very well and it just had onions and very little cilantro on each. They didn’t add much to the meat in each taco, and each taco is pretty small. The atmosphere, specifically the music, is really good. However if I were to come here again I would probably spend a little more and get an entree plate or burrito or something a bit bigger and more filling, now that I know the tacos are on the small side.

Modest, very authentic Mexican food on a quiet stretch of Lincoln Avenue in San Rafael. No frills atmosphere but friendly service and great, inexpensive food.
Good sized portions and friendly service. Good value. Surprisingly, parking can be an issue.
This restaurant was at the top of their game when I went there for lunch. The chicken mole was excellent as were the rice and beans that came with it and the spicy salsas too. One of the better Mexican meals I’ve had in San Rafael in a long time. Highly recommend stopping in..

The food was okay. Not much flavor to it, but it's good when you're really hungry. I ordered my food through delivery, and unfortunately, they didn't provide eating utensils for the rice and beans. So, I had to run to the nearest store to buy a set of plastic spoons. That was fairly inconvenient.

Very mediocre breakfast burrito. Egg potato and bacon in tortilla. Bland but at least the salsa was good.

For many years we enjoyed this place, and we came on Sunday and asked for three different soups like always do, they were completely different flavor, did they changed the owner? Or maybe the cooks? So sad, they were good in the past, why the change? I hope other items flavor haven’t otherwise there is another really good place near by.
My partner and I came in on Sunday morning and ordered breakfast burritos. We were 1 of 3 tables sat at the time. I ordered mine with cheese and hers with no cheese. We waited for 20 minutes and had to head out so we asked for the order to go. Both burritos had cold spots inside, both had cheese. The simple order was taken incorrectly, the food was bad, and it took way too long. I'll be actively avoiding this place from now on. Very friendly people, terrible dining experience.
I am a fellow Hispanic, but I opted to not speak Spanish. (Not good at it). I feel as though they were biased towards me by charging me 26.99 for a carne asada plate when all their menus show 20.99. When I pointed at the price on check-out, the woman looked extremely flustered and chalked it up to “we recently changed our prices”. Roughly 33 markup? Really? I won’t be coming here ever again.
