El Cone El Sargento Reviews
Ceviche is great with balanced flavors. I eat it by the pound hah just kidding... by the kilo.
Culturally true cusine...really large varied menu....fresh lime margaritas, no mix. Seafood is fresh daily. Guacamole fresh.
Wow best tuna I have ever! And pasta are so good :)
Mariscos el cone is a local staple. A well run restaurant that has good sea food that is popular with both locals and gringos. The restaurant is reliable and the place gets busy during high season. Go a little early during high season, the staff can get a little overwhelmed and service gets spotty when they are full/busy. Cash only!!
We dined here twice and it was excellent each time. Authentic and very well priced. Cash only and basic decor, but always busy. The Cilantro fish was to die for.
Great food, but you need cash to pay. It's run by local folks who are great. The vibe is layed back, so if you don't want dogs around when you're eating, choose a different spot. I love their grilled fish and my wife their ceviche.
The margaritas here are on point! Order the grande. It does the trick. The ceviche is fresh, we ordered a small and it was more than enough for two people. The price is right, the atmosphere is fun and the food is authentic and delicious. Remember you are in Mexico, learn some Spanish :)
There's really not much atmosphere wise. It's like a picnic on a large porch. The food was tasty but now over the top wonderful. The service was slow.
The vegetable fajitas satisfied my hungry vegan belly! It was a generous pile of veggies which seemed like they were steamed rather than grilled, but still tasty and flavorful. Also on the plate was guacamole and beans, and lots of warm tortillas on the side. I asked if the beans had lard, and the server said yes, and without my needing to ask she offered to bring rice instead. It was a lot of food, and I was happy to feel well fed on something besides guacamole at a restaurant in Baja! The setting is comfortable, casual and clean. It’s a nice open-air palapa protected from the wind. The server spoke English and was very attentive.
We had a lovely dinner here. I ordered the grilled shrimp (they are gluten-free) and the large margarita! It’s en plein air and can get quite busy in the evening. Staff are nice but they can get a bit frazzled when it’s busy! It’s best to place your order when the staff come around rather than waiting to decide! They may take a while to circle back. They also sell out of things quickly as it gets later into the evening! Dogs are welcome!
Camrones rellenos a la diabla have now been added to my recipe book, very tasty! Ceviche could use some more flavor. Servers seem like they were mumbling most of the time but got our orders right. Value was pretty good for the portions would return. They even had pretty good mashed potatoes which the kid enjoyed
Regrettably, Mariscos en Cone in La Ventana, BCS, presents a dining ordeal most disheartening, evoking a sense of profound exploitation. One anticipated the diablo fish plate to offer a robust piquancy, only to encounter a dish so bereft of flavor it might lull the most discerning palate to slumber. The habanero sauce, touted as a fiery essence, emerges as a pallid mockery, incapable of stirring even the drowsiest taste bud. Furthermore, the price of a single fish taco at 125 pesos exemplifies an outrageous overvaluation permeating the entire menu, whilst service proceeds with agonizing lethargy. One feels grievously ill-used; thus, preserve thy wealth and gastronomic honor, import thine own seasonings, and shun this establishment with haste!
