Nash + Tender

Nash + Tender delivers a fantastic hot chicken experience! The chicken was impressively fresh, juicy, and not dried out—something many places struggle to get right. The sauce reminded me of Cane’s but with its own unique flair, pairing perfectly with the crispy chicken. I opted for the hottest spice level, and while it had a nice kick, it wasn’t overwhelming—though I do have a high tolerance for spice. What really sets Nash + Tender apart is their attention to detail, like the toasted bun, which adds a satisfying texture and flavor to every bite. Overall, I’d say it’s better than Dave’s Hot Chicken in terms of freshness and flavor. Highly recommend!

Was hesitant to go based on recent reviews but my friend insisted it was good. I ordered medium spice and both sandwiches and fries are very good. I have been to Nashville few times so familiar with hot chicken. Added bonus it’s right next to Tesla superchargers ☺️

Love this place. Food is amazing and service is always so much better than I expect or am used to. They go out of their way to make sure we're good & food is good. Can't say enough about how great they are.

If heaven was a place on Earth, Nash + Tender is the entrance. I came in expecting just another small restaurant in our great city of Elk Grove, and what I got in return had solidified my position that this was by far the best small-time restaurant I’ve ever went into. The fries and chicken sent me to a second form of existence. I was floating, and so were my taste buds. It made me like Cole slaw, and that’s saying something. Because I hate Cole slaw, but Nash + Tender decided to stick some in my mouth, and say “chew”, and I did, and I’ll do it all over again. Am I getting on one knee, mouth wide open and eyes half closed for this little slice of paradise? Yes. I am. I am not ashamed. I throat down any other item on the menu because it deserves to be. Thank you, Nash + Tender for giving me a small vision of what humanity could truly accomplish if we all worked together. World peace could be achieved if Nash + Tender was at the forefront.

Gerardo was very speedy and efficient with our order, he told us about the deal going on, so we saved a few bucks. The wait was about 15 minutes which was not super long for us but when he gave us our order, he sincerely apologized for the wait. The food was delicious, made correctly and hot. Me and my fiance live in Stockton but I am from Elk Grove and we were in the area visiting but we would drive 45 back to this location for sure! Overall experience was very satisfactory, coming from someone who used to manage at a fast food restaurant :)

I've been waiting for a really good hot chicken place to open near me. I've been here twice now and I really like it. The spice level is good, there's great options and every item I've tried is good. The fries are super crispy but not dry or bland (get the seasoned version). The sauce is delicious. I can't find a bad thing to say.

Being in a silent recession, my wife and I have been conscious about how and where we spend our money. With so many local businesses opening in the Elk Grove area, we have slowly moved away from supporting big chains. Therefore, when we had a taste for loaded fries, we were happy when Yelp directed us to a local business called Nash + Tender (not to be confused with another Nashville Chicken establishment that used to be in Elk Grove called Nash & Proper). We ordered via DoorDash; therefore, I can only provide a review of the food itself. Our orders of loaded fries arrived hot and definitely smelled delicious. Since we were unsure of the portion size, my wife ordered extra pickles (as you probably know pickles are like the icing on a cake for Nashville hot chicken) and the "hot" heat level (they have an extra hot as well). We found the "hot" to be pretty accurate and sufficient, I love hot food and couldn't imagine how much hotter the extra hot could be. The portion size was generous and we found the mix of fries, Mac N' Cheese, coleslaw, chicken and pickles to be flavorful. We generally have takeout on Tuesday evenings; however, the Elk Grove Nash + Tender location has a Friday special on the Nash + Tender Fries. I highly recommend the Elk Grove Nash + Tender if you're looking for delicious Nashville Chicken...I'll be back to try their Hot Chicken Slider!

Never had such a delicious chicken slider. The bun was hot, sweet, and tasty. The chicken was breaded fried, hot, juicy (savory )..For a better dea..buy a combination plate. A dish I have to try next time is the loaded fries, dripping with mac and cheese and diced chicken with selected sauce. It looked big and delicious. You may pay a few dollars more for the food but it is well worth it...

The slider was very good and a generous portion. Fries, so so. No beer to go with it and the music was WAY too loud! I probably won’t be back.

Food was plain and not hot at all. The breaded chicken was rubbery and not crunchy. The sandwich was runny and caused the bun to tear. I wouldn't go back here again

Honestly ridiculous that a place that is not a sit down restaurant stops serving 15 minutes before closing. If it was an actual restaurant, I would understand. But that’s like going to McDonald’s before closing and them telling you “hey even though we’re open till 9, no more food.” Will never have my business again.

After eating the rest of the sandwich it tasted very flavorless and hard. The fries also had a hard texture not crispy or soft. I think maybe that could be from not cleaning and using fresh oil. The pickles taste more like eating a cucumber rather than a pickle which should be more acidic from the pickling process. Will most likely never come back here.

I was mostly disappointed with the atmosphere. During my visit with my kids someone was smoking weed in the bathroom. I'm not sure if this was a random person but it quickly stunk up the place.
