I finally got the chance to come to Better Half and that chopped cheese is the truth!!! For it being made in Queens, it’s amazing and I will be coming regularly for it. The staff is friendly, the place is cute. They stay busy so it can get cramped in there. It is what it is and you can’t control that. Perhaps that’s a good sign that their stuff is good?? 👀 💯, the coffee was delicious too. I highly recommend.

Small neighborhood cafe in Woodside. Went here 3x and had to visit again on my last night. Great coffee and their avocado chicken wrap was tasty. This place is also very memorable to me. The space is very tiny though and limited space so it can get packed and overwhelming during peak hours.

The best ube matcha! I always order the same thing whenever im there. This place is very tiny situated in elmhurst woodside area. The lines are usually long in the morning. Prepare to wait like 5-10 minutes since they only have a small kitchen. Drinks and foods are great!

I just went into this coffee shop and absolutely loved it! The cashier/barista had such a sweet, calming energy her vibe was everything. Even though the place was packed (as it should be, because the coffee is that good), they were super efficient and made the best Earl Grey latte I’ve had in a long time. Highly recommend!

We stopped here right before hitting the road out of NY and wow, it was the perfect spot to grab a bite and coffee. We got an egg/cheese on brioche, a turkey sausage/egg/cheese on brioche, strawberry matcha, and a cold brew. The sandwiches were delicious and fresh with the perfect ratio of meat, cheese, and egg. The strawberry matcha was a highlight for me because they use REAL ground strawberries, not a fake syrup and the strawberry complemented the matcha perfectly. It was not too sweet. Finally, my husband (who is a coffee snob), really enjoyed the plain black cold brew. Not all coffee shops can make a good cold brew but Better Half nailed it. We love the vibe inside and they have a nice sitting area outside too. We loved it. Highly recommend this place.

Absolutely loved the Matcha Oatmilk with Vanilla – super smooth and just the right balance of earthy matcha and sweet vanilla. Oatmilk made it extra creamy without being too heavy. Perfect pick-me-up for a calm afternoon. Friendly staff, cozy vibe, and quick service even for takeout. Will definitely be back to try more!

I’ve been consistently impressed with the quality and atmosphere at this café. The drip coffee and matcha are both exceptional — rich, smooth, and expertly prepared. They’ve quickly become my go-to beverages. The egg and cheese sandwiches, along with their bagels, are absolutely delicious. Everything is fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick bite or a relaxed breakfast, you won’t be disappointed. Equally noteworthy is the service. Miranda, Kai, and Samita are always welcoming, professional, and genuinely kind. Their attention to detail and friendly demeanor create a warm and inviting environment that keeps me coming back. Highly recommended — a standout spot in every way.

Everyone here was so sweet & felt like their heart & soul got poured into our coffee’s. I didn’t know what to get & ended up getting recommended the Green Egg & Spam sandwich PLUS the breakfast burrito! 10/10 need to come here & try the drink options out.

A necessary addition to this neighborhood. I’ve lived in the area long enough to know there wasn’t any good coffee in the immediate vicinity. This is no longer the case. The drinks are fantastic. The location simple and clean. I’m glad to know this space exists now.

The ube latte with coconut cloud foam is a must have and a very unique drink. Also tried their jerk chicken quesadilla and chopped cheese you won't regret it. It was my first time at the restaurant. I didn't know the kitchen closes at 4. So I went there a bit late and they still took my order. Everyone was very friendly. My work place is right down the block so I will definitely go back.

Found this place on tiktok and decided to check it out. I got the ube with coconut cloud latte and it was delicious. I love the taste of the ube with the light coffee taste. Service was fast and amazing, great atmosphere as well.

I can’t rate the food because I haven’t tried it, just the coffee. I’ve had the black sesame latte and their Ube coconut cloud latte- both iced! Delicious I love black sesame treats but I wasn’t too crazy about this one I did prefer the ube because of that coconut cold foam! So good!

I always love there different coffee, matcha or when it’s a holiday. All their pastries and breakfast item like their chorizos breakfast burrito is literally like mouth dripping if that make sense 🙈. Honestly my favorite of all time has to be their bagel with scallion cream cheese, especially with everything bagel. Can’t wait to their business expand. They are so so so good, I literally have no words, love them so much. If you guys are ever near by, please stop by

Everything we had was absolutely delicious! The chopped cheese sandwich and bacon, egg, and cheese on a brioche bun were full of flavor and cooked to perfection. Ube matcha was delicious. The prices were very reasonable for the quality of food. Friendly service and great atmosphere. The staff were lovely and genuinely engaging to talk to. The decor is simple and cozy. Everything was honestly delicious and I cannot wait to go back.

we got a cappuccino and an iced latte- both amazing!! their signature/specialty drinks seemed a little expensive at $9 something, and an extra dollar for iced... the atmosphere is cute, but there is not a lot of space inside when they tend to get busy. if you want to sit down here, i would recommend going during less busy hours.

I would love to give this place a five stars. But I took one away due to the poor seating. For the cost of the food and drinks, I expect the seating and atmosphere to be much better. The customer service is pretty good. Although I did sense a bit of attitude from the Hispanic employees when I came in because of my skin color! But this is NYC - the most segregated city in the world! The turkey sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich was really good. It was seasoned well and was nice size. Best of all, it was piping hot when it was served to me.

Local coffee shop with limited indoor seating space. Matcha with oat milk was green and smooth but bland. Bacon egg and cheese bagel was tasty.

Drinks are great but so pricey in comparison to other coffee shops around Woodside and Elmhurst. Alternative milk option bumps your total for one drink to nearly $10 which is insane. The matcha unfortunately isn’t that good, it’s a bit chalky and mainly tastes like milk. I kept ordering it hoping the taste would be better the next time but honestly their ice lattes are better like the salt maple latte. The food is really good though, I recommend the breakfast sandwiches (BEC specifically) and the chopped cheese was good when I tried it.

Wanted to get their avocado toast but at 4pm, kitchen was already closed! Wondering why so early when they close at 6pm. Too bad. Tried their Ube coconut cloud, iced (addtl $1) so around $9, kind of pricey. I did enjoy it- like a thin milkshake consistency; and the cloud was the best part for me. Caffe latte was ok. Staff was nice although made an error when charging us, good thing my husband was paying attention (more than I was), and was corrected. Small area indoors, nice and clean decor. Some seating indoors by the window, and outdoors - covered with umbrella. No restroom. Street parking - metered and around the residential areas.

It is a very tight space which would be fine but the workers aren’t mindful of this. The cash register is hidden behind a bunch of menus, a refrigerator and a garbage can that blocks access. The person behind the register seemed to be busy with a couple of things and simultaneously tried to take my order. She said something once which I was unsure of if it was meant for me or her for worker. She said “hi” again but seemed annoyed that it took time for me to respond / start giving my order. It was very confusing and I was putting in extra effort to pay attention. The person who made the latte seemed friendlier but also rushing. The lattes are overpriced for the area and don’t taste as great as the price. Haven’t tried the food but from pictures seems alright. Might give it another shot to accredit the service to inexperienced first time business owners.

I ordered a matcha latte here. Nothing special. It did not even taste good. But it was 9.80 after tax for a 16oz drink. I could get better drinks in the city for cheaper price.

Iced matcha latte was $9 ($9.80 after tax) and tasted like milk only. So bad I had to add chocolate powder after to turn it into chocolate milk…that’s how much matcha taste it had. Skip if you actually love matcha (I make and drink it every day). If it was good, I wouldn’t be so upset.
