This is a fun place to go for breakfast, but be warned that it's packed on Saturday morning. You should also make sure you carry cash as they only accept cash! My Shrimp & Grits was $15.95, tho it was absolutely worth every penny! It came with 2 biscuits and I took some home, so portions were good size. It was so cool looking at the walls of pics of all the famous people that have eaten there. The service was friendly tho our server was a little slow getting to us, but we thoroughly enjoyed it and each took home a slice of pie. I have been searching for Lemon Icebox pie for years and it was tasty. I am excited about returning to this restaurant with more friends.

12/10 Highly recommend! I can’t say enough good things about this place. Amazing food! Chicken and waffles are to die for. I had a fresh and tasty omelette…their sausage is so good. Followed up with the pie…a must have!! Do yourself a favor and go eat at Lois’!

Amazing fried Chicken and waffles. We also got the raspberry key lime pie and no not just one slice the entire pie because oh my God it was amazing. Highly recommend it. And the pictures on the wall. Oh my God, so many different people that you'll recognize that have come to this place.

A group of us were walking by and I spotted the chicken on someone’s plate. I knew I had to try it. And I’m so glad I did. I’m very picky about Fried Chicken but this one was beyond amazing. Very well seasoned, moist and crisp. Additionally, this was a very humble and homey atmosphere. It felt like I was at a family reunion. Everyone was very friendly. All of the food we ordered was excellent. We will be sure to become regulars! Best breakfast to say the least!

My friend and I stumbled upon this East bay institution, we only stopped in for a slice of pie but it was well worth the trip. I’m kicking myself I didn’t get a plate but will need to make a trip back. The photos in the wall inside say it all, this place is special.

My pal Tajon was stuck up in Yountville because is ride was causing trouble so he bailed out, and called me for a ride back to Oaktown. I told him straight up, I'll give you a ride but I want a whole pie from Lois the Pie Queen! And the deal was struck! Oh...the pie...it was Spectacular! 5 stars all day long. ☆☆☆☆☆

I’ve eaten here several times and have always planned to come early. My go to order is their chicken and waffle. I also love their biscuits. I love breakfast and when I crave for a specific chicken and waffle, this place always comes to mind. I don’t live close enough so I don’t get to eat here as often as I would like but I will drive for good food 😋

We had the chicken and waffles and the Reggie Jackson. Both were tender, crunchy, and delicious. Bring your appetite - the portions are big. The staff was awesome and crushed it during the morning rush. AAA+++

Been a fair few years since my last visit, but Lois the Pie Queen continues to be a landmark & must-hit establishment. The Southern Fried Chicken breakfast special isn't cheap, but for the hefty portion is well worth(I recommend dark meat, especially!). The place is filled with photos and mementos of community & well-known figures as well. All of the food is great, staff is friendly and attentive, and the pies - fantastic! Cannot recommend enough.

I love this place! Classic Black neighborhood diner. Old-school lunch counter and tables and pie case. The main wall is adorned with Black history and the restaurants legacy, great conversation for dining. The chicken is 👍🏿, service was adequate and quick.

Delicious!!! I’m glad there is not a location near me! I’d be here EVERY week. The gravy was ON POINT. The salmon Croquette tasted JUST LIKE MY MOMMA’S! Actually… it was a tad better… but shhhh! Don’t tell my Momma I said that! 🤣 The cash app payment option was… strange but embrace new tech or get left behind. Next time I’m in Oakland… I’ll definitely be stopping here to eat again.

One of the top ten best breakfasts I've ever had. Ordered the "Reggie Jackson", 2 fried chops 2 eggs 2 homemade biscuits Grits and coffee (25$)...and let me tell you it was flavorful, filling and worth every bite. Definitely gonna try a slice of pie the next time I'm in for the full experience of the Pie Queen. Thank you ya'll!

What a lovely breakfast spot! We went early on a Saturday and had a fantastic breakfast. The chicken in the chicken and waffles was SO FRESH. Don't forget to try the pie! We shared a slice of the raspberry key lime pie and it blew me away. Just a note that it's cash only. Lots of free street parking nearby.

This place has amazing breakfast, especially enjoyed the hotcakes and hotlinks! The hotcake was really fluffy and tasty. The texture of the eggs are noteworthy as well they were delicately cooked to perfection with exceptional scrambled creaminess. Hashbrowns and bacon was good too I love the crispy way they cooked them. Will have to come back to this place and try the pie next time I'm in town for sure.

I enjoyed myself. The food was delicious. It wasn’t that busy at all. I had scrambled eggs, fried chicken and hash browns. My husband had pork chops, scrambled eggs with cheese w/pecan waffle. There’s no parking lot for parking that I saw. But there was street parking in front. There were no stairs to walk up. It would accommodate a wheelchair.

My wife and my granddaughter And I were looking for a nice place to eat for breakfast in Oakland. We ran across a restaurant called Lois the Pie Queen. We were greeted and seated by Ricki. She was an excellent waitress and server, and she gave our granddaughter V.I.P treatment. Leon is an excellent cook. We ordered pork chops with hash browns and over easy eggs with biscuits, and chicken and waffles. We will definitely be going back, and I recommend this restaurant to all.We Thank Ricki and Leon for a wonderful dining experience. Can't wait to taste the banana cream pie next time. 💯👍🏾😊

Lois the Pie Queen is a little restaurant that has tons of character and great food. Their portion sizes are good for their prices, and that quality and taste is definitely there. The staff and service is great, super friendly and helpful. Parking is a bit tough outside and they only take cash (Venmo if you don't have any on you) so it's still pretty convenient on their part. Chicken and waffles were on point, super juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. Would recommend breakfast here if you're in the neighborhood.

Great service, very friendly staff. Haven't eaten here often but has a real comfy and chill feel. Great coffee. Parking is a little tricky, but during the week not too bad. Fried chicken is moist and bacon is very tasty. Very old school interior.

This place is what a neighborhood restaurant should be... Great food, family owned for 77 years, and one of the owners (Corey) comes out and checks on you. And don't forget the Wall of Fame. It's a great family experience and breakfast is served all day.

Typical diner ambience. Fried chicken to die for. Always a large selection of pies. They did microwave my pie without asking (which I didn't want) and it burned me the duration of consumption, although this has only happened once. Service often leaves something to be desired.

Got the chicken and waffles for breakfast. Chicken was really nice as I expected. I preferred the waffles to be on the crispier side though. Hubby got the Reggie Jackson meal which had 2 pork chops, hashbrowns eggs and toast. Huge serving! He was pleased with the pork chops too. He said they were flavored well, just a little on the dry side. Would come back to try the shrimp and grits next time.

It was good...I had eggs, grits, bacon, some toast and cammomile tea. The service was great, the place is cute, but in my opinion the prices are pretty outrageous even for California. You can go to Dennys and get more food for half the price that tastes better. Again it was good, just not $35 good.
