Los Cantaros Taquería Emeryville Reviews
Hella good Gives you plenty of food Really nice people
Great spot for some tacos and a large variety of Mexican food. Tortas, tacos, burritos and even a chicken Caesar wrap. Good veggie options.
This place has been around since I was a young kid at Emery Middle School in 2003. Good times. I used to always come here with friends and eat food, it’s really good! Having returned to the Bay Area recently, I wanted to see if the place was the same as when I used to come there mind you the economy was better in the 2000s. Their food is really good and the tacos I had with carne asada were amazing! The horchata as well. I recommend this place. California has the best Mexican food! Truly
I have a really great time eating here because I love Mexican food for breakfast. Spanish rice, black beans, veggies, steak, a salad, with chips and tortillas. There weren’t other offerings in walking distance for me so I am grateful. Interior nicely designed, atmosphere is familial. Will be back!
So good, one of our go to spots. Today they didn’t have birria, but didn’t tell me until I arrived to pick up my order. They also didn’t give me any of the orange salsa. The orange salsa is bomb, their green salsa is very mid. Normally 5 stars. Today was a 2 star day. Probably going to go a lot less. Very disappointing.
Update: I've tried more of their menu and it may have been a fluke for the mole. Everything else I've had there so far has been quite good! I just started working nearby and have been stopping by every so often for lunch or breakfast. Breakfast is usually great and their burritos are usually on point. I decided to try the chicken mole today. I am sad to report that it was underwhelming. The chicken was super dry and tough to pull apart. The outside of the chicken has no skin so the outside was dry and I couldn't eat it. The mole was a bit thick as if it's been on the heat too long and was too sweet for my liking as if they were really skimpy on the chiles when making the mole. I was hoping for it to be less thick and more flavorful. Sadly, I recommend la penca azul or la piñata for mole over this mole. I ate the rice, beans and salad in the container. I threw the rest of it away after trying a little bit if the chicken from different pieces on my plate.
You ordered yourself and pick up the food at counter. Burritos are good varies of meat. Noticed the prices have gone up alot since last year. Portions are smaller. For what you pay. . And chips they put in a plastic bag hardly any chips in bag. I ate there last year and they gave you a basket of chips. They could use more flavoring. The beans use to be on the plate. Now it's a small cup. To the steak and the burritos. And there is no service, you pick it up at the counter. Really noisy in restaurant.
Please don't eat here, the food is hit or miss and it's not quality for the price. I went last week to get a breakfast burrito and it was fine. However, today when I went to get a breakfast burrito, the burrito was missing refried beans. I informed the clerk taking order and she asked if I wanted them on the side? I said no she instantly got a stank attitude because I wanted them to remake it. When the burrito came out again it was so nasty I threw it away instead of returning it again. I didn't want a verbal confrontation with the clerk because I value my peace. I spent $15 for garbage save your money go somewhere else.
First of all let me start by saying their mole has tree nuts which is so ridiculous I've never seen that before in my life. real Mexicans don't use tree nuts like almonds in their mole sauce. I literally had an allergic reaction and i have eaten plenty of mole in my life. When I called to talk to them about it on the phone their manager wouldn't give her name and she was acting very shady. They suck at making Mexican food by the way. Chilaquiles didn't even have any cream or enough queso fresco. Chicken for the chilaquiles was literally a slice of chicken breast that they were too lazy to shred up.
I dined in and ordered a super burrito. When i got it took a few bites and notices there wasn’t sour cream so I asked the cashier “burritos dont come with sour cream?” He said “yes, they do”. I said I don’t get any. So he took it and made another one. The second on came out and still no sour cream. So now there making it a 3rd time after they have small argument due to the misunderstanding. I get my burrito after the 3rd time and it taste terrible. All the meat was tough and burnt.
