Empire Dairy King Empire Reviews
I always wanted to stop here on the way back to Denver from skiing in Winter Park and I'm glad I did last week. Bison burger and chocolate shake were delicious – hit the spot. It's a small, no-frills joint with a surprisingly large menu and a very friendly staff. Looking forward to stopping again.
We stop there every weekend. Either on the way home from biking or skiing. Delicious burgers and always a flurry to go with it. Reasonably priced, quick service, indoor and outdoor seating too. If you're going through Empire, make the stop. It's worth it.
This place has the best ice cream in the mountains. Not the most comfy place but who cares, get the butterscotch malt and be happy.
Excellent fresh food and yummy ice cream! Even though it’s small inside, we loved the old timey family feel!
This is a cool little burger place. It's small inside only a few tables. The burgers and hotdogs are really good. They also have ice cream. I would definitely recommend this place.
A true institution. I make sure to stop at least once whenever I road trip to Colorado. (Even if it's way out of the way.) Everything from the 90% lean burgers to the chocolate dipped cones are prepared right where you can see it. Cash only, indoor/outdoor seating.
Stopped by this spot after skiing at Winter park all day. So glad I found this place ! A lot more affordable than other mountain town spots I’ve been to. Pretty big menu. Just got a burger and fries. Service was pretty fast. Great views with a cute patio.
We stopped in this small village town for lunch, surrounded by a nice mountain view, and decided to give this place a try. I ordered the bison burger (my first time having one) along with some appetizers—fried zucchini and onion rings. The burger was good, but what really stole the show was the vanilla butterscotch malt. Easily one of the best malts I’ve ever had—thick, creamy, and packed with flavor. We also tried their ice cream, and I went with the Huckleberry. It was smooth, creamy, and had that fresh berry taste that hits just right. If you’re passing through this little mountain town and want to grab a bite, try something new, or just enjoy a sweet treat like ice cream or a malt, this spot is definitely worth the stop.
This place is great, and just a couple of miles off of I-70, very easy to get to and back to I-70! I was coming home from the Georgetown DMV around lunchtime and wanted something quick and Google turned me onto this place. I had a kids meal and a flurry ice cream treat. I sat in the covered outdoor pation, with stunning mountain views. All wonderful. Try it, you won't be disappointed.
Extremely quiet little burger joint with very fresh patties and the shakes are incredible! They let you pick up to 2 flavors without extra charge! The peanut butter and banana combo make a really nice afternoon treat! I highly recommend this place if you're passing through!! Very worth it!
I came here after a hike one day for a shake and fries — SOOO delicious, also you can mix flavors in your shake 👌🏻 It was so good I came back the next day for a burger, which was also delish. Prices are very reasonable for this area! I also appreciated the outdoor seating. Wish I lived closer, I would come back more often.
It’s a very neat experience to have while in the mountains, but when we went there it could have been cleaner and the staff were arguing with each other. That being said, the food is genuinely good and the ice cream is amazing.
Drove all the way from Thornton Colorado to eat here.... Excellent food. However the Service sucked, they looked irritated they had customers to serve. Dining area dirty. I spend about $90 bucks on 4 adults with food and ice creams.
We were so excited to bring our family here after having a good experience over the summer, but the girl taking our order was sooo crabby and didn't even look at us, except to roll her eyes and say "uh, yah" when we asked if the specialty shakes were extra. When it was ready, she basically threw our food down on our table without a word. The burgers were cold and the shakes only had 1 flavor even though we ordered and paid for 2. We didn't dare ask if the shakes were made with the right flavors for fear of receiving even worse attitude! Such a different and unfortunate experience!
