Jai Alai Errezil Reviews
Repetiremos seguro.
Gracias
Brilliant family-run hotel. I highly recommend.
Loved this place! The rooms were large and clean and had country charm that I loved. I liked having the restaurant on premise and the food was very good. It is a family run business and we were treated very well. Highly recommend.
This place was a real surprise and a delight. It is a gem. The first surprise was the ample parking. The second was a modest exterior belying a very clean and comfortable hotel and restaurant. The building itself has a 300 and some year history, beginning as a barn and stable. The restaurant area has the feel of an old wine cellar and the hotel rooms make you feel like you are staying in a castle only with all the usual modern conveniences. The bedrooms are air conditioned and include WiFi. The bathrooms are large. Everything was clean. The eight bedrooms surround an open lounge area, which includes a billiard table, board games as well as comfortable furniture for guests to visit. The owners, Maria and Alfredo, along with their daughter, Olatz, worked hard to provide cheerful and professional hospitality. Our supper was delicious and unhurried. The menu included a number of Basque dishes and beverages. Our waitress was very helpful with explaining the menu to our group from the Midwest United States. Breakfast the next morning was like being turned loose in a Basque pastry shop, including a small selection of cold meats and cheeses, not to mention some very thick and tasty fried bacon that Marie prepared for us. Our group of nine was in agreement that our cost for the rooms and meals was better than reasonable. I think I can speak for all of them in giving this place and the family that operates it, along with their staff, a five star rating.
We were a group of nine people making a pilgrimage through northern Spain. Stopped here as part of our visit to the Ignatian Basilica in Loyola. This place was fantastic! Best place we’ve stayed at so far. Family run business that treated us extremely well. The mother/owner/cook treated us like family. Might’ve helped that we had a priest traveling with us. :-) Excellent restaurant, in fact, best meal we’ve had on our trip so far, and the rooms were wonderful. Price was very reasonable and overall great value. Highly recommend, the Hotel Larrañaga!!
Our group of 9 just happened upon this place, looking for an economical stop along our way between Monserrat and Loyola. What an incredible find! The owners bought this 350 year old building 26 years ago and transformed it into a beautiful restaurant and hotel. The place is impeccably clean, the beds are extremely comfortable and the pillows are memory foam, so very comfortable! There is a modern very effective air conditioning unit in every room, and for a €10 deposit, which you get back the next morning, you can get a controller for it from the office. We ate supper in the restaurant and the food was delicious and a great price! The next morning, there was a buffet breakfast with delicious food, many being local Basque specialties, and all for €10. Parking lot had ample space to park and maneuver our 7 person van. And, best of all, is the owner, Maria, who is so warm and personable, making sure that everything was taken care of. We left well rested, stuffed full of delicious food, and content. Even though we live in the United States, we have been talking among our group and hope to be back again. What a wonderful experience!
Maria and her staff were unbelievable! So friendly and the hotel was clean and so pleasant. Beautiful rooms. Very spacious. Updated clean bathrooms. We loved it. Food was delicious! Thank you Maria. Would definitely give a rating of 10++++!
This was an amazing hotel and restaurant! It is a family owned place, and the family welcomes you so warmly. The owner, Maria, made me feel like one of the family. She cooked a wonderful breakfast, and pampered our group the whole time. We can’t thank you and your family enough!!
This place is absolutely amazing!! I cannot speak highly enough of the service - extremely thoughtful, friendly, and kind people! The rooms are super big and very comfortable, very nice bathrooms. The dinning hall is super cool and the food, the food!! Absolutely amazing!!
Much more than a room and a bed. Maria and Olatz received us with open harms, kindness and excellent gastronomy! The bed's mattresses, pillows and soft sheets helped us to have a very good night of sleep! And, when we came down to breakfast we were amazed with all the home made desserts, fresh coffee and the free range scrambled eggs, made at the moment... Long story short, excellent and highly recommended! Eskerrik asko!!!
We stayed here last September as a group of 3 people touring on Motorcycles. Secure parking and great location to explore the entire Basque region. A superb family owned and run Hotel . Immaculately clean and presented to a very high standard.Amazing hosts who are exceptionally friendly and hospitable.Traditional high class Basque gastronomy. Food was excellent both Dinner and breakfast. A true gem . Booked again for this summer😃
Larrañaga is such a beautiful place at the Basque Country side. The restaurant is very beautiful and they offer great traditional Basque food. We had a very delicious food and the whole menu including water bottles costs 14€ per person. The service is super and the waitresses were super friendly.
This is not a 1 star. It’s superb. More like 3 or maybe 4 star. It’s a little isolated but for a quiet getaway, the chateau is incredible. Rooms are super spacious and superb.
Amazing food. I suggest the crepe with pork. Gravy is superb. Fish was top level. Forget all that cheese cake that crust! Ufffff....
This is an excellent restaurant for a reasonable price and good service. We tried their weekend set menu which had an ample choice of dishes to choose from. You have parking space within the premises and also nearby. I recommend you book a table before going as it gets full very fast.
5 stars, no doubts! Unique, fantastic, superb local food, best service and family environment 🙂♥️🙌
Nice country hotel & restaurant. Very good food, old style forniture but modern and efficient bathroom. Silent nights
Hmmm. So this place really is rather strange. The hotel is really set alongside a bit of an industrial estate, with saw-mill and other factories. I had missed that in my research! The room we had was actually lovely and the history and architecture of the building is very interesting. There was no AC in the room, but when we were there, it wasn't too hot, so not a problem for us. The restaurant seems to be very popular with locals - slightly surprising because the food is fairly basic and limited for its location in Spain. I had expected somewhat more. Nevertheless, you can eat there without a problem, but don't expect anything very special. Service was OK, but not hugely warm and welcoming. The property is generally clean and tidy, but for some odd reason, seemed to be very popular with the local flies! All in all, OK for a night's stop-off, but just a little "odd". Something just doesn't quite gel as it should.
Our booking was cancelled by the hotel because they had overbooked. We arrived, late and tired, to be told they had no room for us, despite me having a confirmation on booking.com
