Delicious!!! There were 5 of us who all ordered different things and each of us said it was the best Thai food we ever had! Makes me want to move here just to be able to eat here often!
The best Thai food in Rochester! The service is a bit slow and we didnt get a refill on our waters but we understood they were very busy! The food was very light and fresh!
We love there takeout. Always so fresh and hot. So glad they are open during the pandemic. Very consistent in the quality of the food.
My favorite Thai food in Rochester area. Worth the drive, the food and staff is always excellent. Call ahead to make sure they are open since they seem to sometimes be closed during normal restaurant hours.
Great food! Gluten free options available, which is appreciated. Staff was very informative and friendly. Quick service with great atmosphere. Definitely recommend a visit!
If you are a vegan and have a craving for Thai food you should check out Saks. Just about everything on their menu can be made vegan. They have excellent appetizers, soups especially the Pho and main entrees. The staff are very friendly.
Saks Thai is some of the best Thai food that I've ever had. It's consistently great quality food. I travel frequently for work and it's rare that any of the local Thai restaurants I've eaten at around the country even come close.
The BEST Thai place I've had since moving to NY. I love this place. They do go a bit heavy with their veggies tho so asking for less of those and more noodles/ rice, etc. might be ideal for some of you.
Fresh. Fresh, fresh ingredients!! Delicious and wonderful staff!! Reasonably priced.. good selections! Can’t go wrong visiting this fine restaurant!
Absolutely the best Thai restaurant I have ever eaten at. So delicious and fresh. So surprising to have it all the way out here in Perinton.
My third time there. Very clean and upscale. Food was appropriate for price and tastes good. Well staffed and thoughtful to my needs.
Excellent Thai food! Their curry is very flavourful and their sweet rice with custard is an awesome dessert to try.
Had lunch here and ordered mixed vegetables. They were nicely cooked, not hard or mushy. Very well run and efficient business.
We love the food and service here. Unfortunately the atmosphere has to take a hit because they can't get staff to open their usually LOVELY dining room. So, we have to do take out.
Great wait staff and even better food. I have traveled all over NY for thai food, and even a few places in Ireland, and have never been able to find a thai restaurant that even comes close to the quality or atmosphere of Sak's. The staff always remembers us and they are always updating and renovating and improving their dining area. Easily one of my favorite places to get food.
If you are going any other place than saks for Thai in the Rochester area, then you are making a mistake..and I have been to them all. Saks is heads above the others in quality and authenticity. I am always a very satisfied customer and make this my destination when craving Thai food. I have recommended Saks to many of my friends over the years and always receive thanks for the recommendation. His ratings over the years is testimonial to what to expect at this establishment.
First time there. Everything was excellent. Staff was very polite and respectful explaining what the dishes were and the drinks right down to the ingredients. They were very friendly. The food delicious!!
Bar none, this is the best Thai restaurant in upstate New York. I didn't expect much pulling up to the strip mall, but the first time I ate here I was hooked. After explaining that my palate was very acclimated to Thai cuisine, they actually made my food as spicy as I like, which is truly rare. Standard fare such as Pad Kee Mao is done exceptionally well, but what's more impressive is their chef's knowledge of various dishes that are more obscure. I had a hankering for Pad Nor Mai at one point, and spoke with my server about it. She spoke to the chef, and 15 minutes later I was eating the best Pad Nor Mai of my life, better than at any NYC restaurant that features it on the menu. The curry puffs are perfect. I can't say enough good things about this place; eat here if you want delicious and authentic Thai cuisine.
I just got back from living in Thailand for a few months and decided to show my family some of the food I was eating. I was nervous Thai food in America would not be as good but everything we ate blew my expectations out of the water! Amazing food! Definitely recommend the mango sticky rice, panang curry, and coconut soup. Will be going back in the future.
The service was beyond amazing and accommodating. The food amazing. So amazing I took a photo after I started eating. The flavors so crisp and good. Highly recommend.
Best Thai I've had east of California. Really really good food. The only problem is the usual wait for takeout. It's hard to get through on the phone quickly. But that just doesn't matter to me given the food is so good
Great experience overall. The food was a delight and the service was incredible. The establishment has the best Thai food I have ever eaten. It's a must try.
We've been there five times this year, and we're going again Friday. We love the curry puffs for an appetizer, and everyone we've taken there agrees they're out of this world. The pad thai, masaman curry, and pineapple curry dish are phenomenal, and a friend says the wide-noodle dishes are great. The wait staff is attentive, informed, and --most important-- make you feel welcome. I wasn't feeling that at Pattaya the last 2 times we've been there. The wines are served in little bottles; don't let that throw you.
The most authentic Thai that I have had in Rochester since moving from NYC. I have been there several times and have taken a few of my asian friends who have approved. The service is great and they always make me feel right at home. If you choose to have a meal there make sure to get a glass of their Thai Chai Tea. Saks is excellent in my book.
My wife and I had a wonderful experience here. This venue offers a tranquil environment with a definitively Thai ambience as well as some of the best Thai food we'd ever tasted. The service was prompt, polite, and helpful. If you visit, try their spring rolls - they're amazing. Everything we ordered was authentic Thai food, nothing McThai about it. And we loved that.
We're never disappointed. The food is delicious and the staff is friendly. It's difficult to get through on the phone sometimes, but that's because their food is wonderful! It's made to order, ( AWESOME), and it's a popular restaurant. Order ahead and pick up later. Call or go in and place your order. Know what you want before you call/ go. This process works well for us. The wait is worth it, no question, it's not fast food after all. We go weekly for take out. We went before the pandemic and will continue to support them. Another reason the wait can be longer than some people feel is acceptable, they're more short staffed than usual, it's pandemic staffing. We're glad they're still able to stay open. Be patient with them. As for spice levels, Thai food is generally spicy. So, if you like less spicy ask for 1 star, ( it gradually gets hotter up to 5 stars), or, look for dishes without the pepper next to it if you don't want spice. Our neighbor loves the gang dang shrimp. I get Pad Puk with Tofu, no celery, no spice to this dish, which is what I want. My husband gets Prin King chicken, 3 stars, no zucchini, his has a bit of a kick. They're very accommodating about leaving out ingredients we don't want. My son generally gets 4 stars for his orders, and it it even SMELLS spicy. Just like he likes it! Their fresh spring rolls,(we get veggie), are the best I've had. My husband LOVES the curry puffs, as did everyone we've introduced them to. We highly recommend Saks and HAVE recommended it to plenty of people. Everyone we have recommended it to has thanked us.
Fresh, delicious, well prepared Thai fare. Great food, restaurant is always very clean and tidy, and the quality is always consistent. The Pad Thai is amazing, I highly recommend trying it. Have yet to have a bad experience or underwhelming dish. Keep up the good work!
Our favorite dinner restaurant, great Thai cuisine, friendly and helpful people, and a good value! I like the Pad King Sod with ginger, my son likes Pad Thai, and my wife enjoys the Tom Yum soup, but all of the items we have tried were flavorful and freshly made! I recommend it highly!
Clean, lovely atmosphere and great food. Can not wait until it reopens for dining in. So far, I did take out, and food has always been plenty and delicious 😋
The food was absolutely amazing. We got 4 different dishes, two entrees a fried rice and a noodle dish and shared amongst the table. Great service from the waitress with a good sense of humor. I would definitely recommend eating here!
Their noodle and rice dishes have the absolute best and freshest veggies I’ve ever had from any Asian cuisine restaurant in the area! They get busy on weekends and sometimes have a long wait time, but they’re very quick on weekdays. Some of the best takeout in Perinton.
Excellent traditional Thai cuisine. This was a favorite restaurant when we lived nearby. Travelling back from South Carolina to visit friends, it was a must do. We were not disappointed. Large selection of dishes, quiet relaxing atmosphere with good service.
Love love love! The food is amazing. Just the right amount of spices and great balance. My favorite Thai place in Rochester. Due to Covid only doing take out right now. Travels very well all the way to Irondequoit. Just as great the next day. Portions are perfect. If you haven't had them yet give it a try.
Best Thai food in Rochester. Clean, modern and beautiful decor and interior. Excellent service and friendly staff. Food is consistent, fresh and sublime every time. Have been going here for such a long time. Can't recommend enough!
They’re pretty good with understanding what vegan means and they have always made things vegan for me when it’s possible. The green curry is so flavorful and creamy (even without the half and half). If you don’t like spicy, stick to a level 1.
Without a doubt this is the best Thai food I have ever eaten. Upon moving to Rochester 10 years ago I was saddened by the dressed up Chinese food that was passed off as Thai food. I would often lament to my fellow Rochesterians about the dearth of decent Thai. It was during one such diatribe that someone mentioned Saks. I was skeptical and expected a dive when looking at the restaurant from the outside (it is in a strip mall plaza), however the inside is pleasantly apportioned and tastefully decorated. The atmosphere is clean, quiet and elegant. The service is impeccable. The food is divine, a near religious experience. I love this food so much I organize a weekly Thai Tuesday at work and make a special trip to pick up the food for nearly 20 coworkers who are now converts. The soups or so full of flavor you will literally get shivers down your spine, the curries are so creamy and full of fresh vegetables you will swear you are in Thailand, the homemade salad dressing is pure perfection. I can not give a more emphatic recommendation. If you like Thai food (if you like food in general), you will enjoy this amazing restaurant.
We came in at a slow time so it worked out very well. I ordered the Green Curry with Beef and my girlfriend got the Sweet and Sour with Chicken. I love this place, food is phenomenal, atmosphere is very calming. We will be back.
Excellent Thai food! My wife and I love this place and visit weekly for dine in (pre 2020) or takeout. Everything we’ve tried on the menu has been delicious - curry puffs, spring rolls, and the curries are some of our favorites.
Best Thai in Rochester. Worth the drive. Service may be slow but it's worth the wait. Unique dishes artfully prepared. They don't like to answer the phone for take out when it's busy so be prepared to wait.
My wife and I went for Valentine's day and brought our baby. The staff was very friendly, and having been to Thailand, we can say that not was not only delicious, but plenty authentic. Nice seating and lighting, attractive decorations, but it's the food that would bring me back. Panang curry is our go to, and they did not disappoint. Great for a nice, dressy or casual night out with family or a date.
One of my favorite places to go for Thai food. The service is great, fried spring rolls are amazing and it surpasses my Pad Thai test. My litmus test for any Thai place is to try their Pad Thai and Saks has my favorite yet. They offer various meat options from the standard beef, pork, chicken, and shrimp. They also have Tofu options as well which are very good. They work with you if you have gluten intolerance, on one occasion a colleague received a fresh spring roll in lieu of soup or salad as both contain gluten. On the next occasion he did not receive any substitute but we had a new waiter so I'm pretty sure the odds are that they would substitute something if you don't ask but you could probably ask and get a substitute.
Great food and good service. A little pricier than other places but you can tell the food is quality! **2022 update, just be prepared to wait a little longer for takeout. Also, phone is frequently busy, but just keep calling back, you eventually get through.
This is by far my favorite Thai food restraunt in the area, and my husband and I's favorite date-night location. There is a large variety of noodle and rice dishes to choose from, as well as seafood, meat, vegetarian and vegan options. I can hardly ever finish my entire entrée, and I love how many veggies are included. The atmosphere is laid back, very spacious and well decorated. Service is impecable, even when the place is busy. The prices are very reasonable too, whether You're on a budget and looking for a treat (check out their lunch special!) or simple love elegant, delicious food.
I enjoyed everything about my experience here; from the atmosphere to the amazing meal. It was the best restaurant I've been to in years and I have already recommended it to family. The food is reasonably priced for the generous portion you receive. I'm thrilled about left overs for a change! Do yourself a favor and try Sak's Pineapple Fried Rice. I'll be making the trip from Greece again very soon!!
Restaurant is clean and has nice ambiance. The staff is always friendly and the service is great. I'm not usually a fan of Thai food but everything they make tastes great, is fresh and portioned well. Price is reasonable too. One of my favorite restaraunts!
Excellent food and very nice staff! Might take more than one phone call due to one person taking orders and also running the front counter but it's worth the "hastle". Hopefully they find some help soon so they can open back up for sit down, the restaurant looks beautifully decorated.
I can't speak to the service because we ordered takeout, but this place serves high quality and delicious food. Try the Thai Spicy Basil Fried Rice for sure. Generous portions. Be aware that they only serve takout most days, if you'd like to dine in I would call first. Overall fantastic experience. I'll be back!!
The husband and wife duo that own and operate the restaurant are amazing. The place is spotless, you can tell that everything matters to them. They are currently not open for dining in, but they let me a my coworkers eat lunch in the dining room. I will be frequenting this restaurant and spreading the word about the best Thai restaurant in Rochester.
Ordered the Pad Thai and Pad See Eiw and both were very very good. Would def recommend. Best Thai I’ve had since moving to this area
They're food is always great! They are take out only.
The best Thai food in Rochester. Delicious soups and tasty curry dishes. I'm a huge fan compared to other restaurants in the city.
The food here is always great! I can't recommend the red curry enough, and the spring rolls are huge. The interior is really nice as well, but I understand that they can currently only operate as a takeout restaurant.
Absolutely amazing food. I have never eaten a bad dish from this place and it has become a regular for my family and I. They only offer take-out although their inside seating area is gorgeous and well decorated
Having often gone to Sak's and recently to Tandoor of India down the road, I can't help but compare their curry dishes despite being fairly different types of cuisine, Tandoors curry was mostly filler ingredients like rice while Sak's had plenty of quality vegetables and more meat. Word of warning, no dine-in.
Best pad thai! The questions Google asks about this place are largely not relevant since the restaurant changed to take out only. I do hope they open the seating area someday again. But in the meantime, they seem to be doing good on the take out only plan!
I have been to several Thai restaurants and this is by far is the best. My favorite is the chicken long song. They only do take out but you can get 1 meal and split it for dinner. Generous portions. Highly recommend checking it out. Very friendly staff.
Always amazing. Honestly- I have never, nor have my family or guests- EVER had a bad experience or food here; it's never mediocre. The pride in their food/product/presentation is always a cut above others... I have my favorites, of course- but there's truly a dish to please everyone at Saks- & a beverage, appetizer, & dessert... DINE IN THE FIRST TIME so the friendly & knowledgeable staff can guide your palate & answer all your questions, so if you order their amazing takeout you know just want you want/are getting... & order a Thai Tea/Coffee for your ride home!
The atmosphere is very relaxing. Service is good. Food is reasonably priced. I opted to add a fresh shrimp roll with peanut sauce on the side for $2.50 more. Portion size is generous. I would go back except that it is quite a drive from where we live.
Outstanding Thai food! Their dishes are ALWAYS well prepared. Sometimes they are short staffed and you have to wait, but I would say it's well worth it. Their Curry Puffs are outstanding! Their Pho soup is perfectly complex and is a definite winner! There is ample parking and the dining area is very nice. Great for a date or with kids.
Very good Thai food. Staff was great. Only issue I had was wanted to get out faster. Took too long for weekday lunch. Needed to get back to work.
Despite its deceiving outward appearance, the food is exceptional and very traditional. The atmosphere is not bad, and service runs a bit on the relaxed side, but well worth the wait!
It's purely take out now, so there is no way to rate the atmosphere. Food is excellent and plentiful, but plan ahead for 45 to 60 minute wait.
Excellent food. Decor was nice. Only downside was it was very busy with a minimal staff (appears to be family run). We will definitely return
Food is delicious but when they say 20 min wait. It's going to be 40- 60 min every time. Just plan
Their curry puffs are enough of a reason to try this place... incredible. The basil chicken was slightly under seasoned and the pad thai was a bit on the sweet side... also, both would have benefited from a bit of spice- however, overall, good flavors, generous portions, and quick service.
This would be a 5-star review but the chicken in one of the dishes tasted a little funky. The chicken in the other dish was fine. I would highly recommend the scallion pancakes as an appetizer! Should I ever find myself in the area again, I would definitely go here again.
I’ve tried several of their dishes, and they have all been quite good! I really like to go here, especially for lunch. Generally friendly staff and good prices and lunch specials as well. I would give 5 stars, but sometimes their service is slow and it’s true that they rarely answer their phone, so getting takeout is pretty much impossible unless you go and wait around for it.
First, let me say that if you're looking for fresh, great-tasting food, Saks is an excellent choice. We've eaten here for the last 5+ years and every meal has tasted fantastic. However, yesterday's takeout experience is likely "the straw that broke the camel's back" and why we'll skip Saks going forward. We knew that ordering for 6 people for a peak dinnertime pickup would likely require some advance notice, so we made sure to have our order in roughly 2 hours early. When my wife called in the order and requested a 6:30 PM pickup, everything sounded fine. However, it took until roughly 7:15 PM for our food to be ready, and while we waited there was absolutely zero communication about our food being late. The only indication of a delay was the line of hangry people standing around the entry who were having a similar lackluster experience. We and our friends have had similar experiences on numerous occasions over the years, and I can't ever recall any communication by the staff/owners as to delays. Expectation management is absolutely critical in the service industry, and every time we've been left with none. We've also never had anything more than a "sorry and thank you for waiting" after these experiences, which is also a lost opportunity to make good with customers by offering a discount or free food item. I know margins are tight for restaurants, but in the rare case of similar experiences with other local businesses we've been (without asking) offered complimentary food items. In sum, if your timing is flexible, Saks is an excellent choice. But if you're on any sort of schedule, I'd strongly suggest you go elsewhere unless management actually addresses this longstanding problem. I truly hope they actually address this, as it's one of my favorite places in the area.
Nice place for Thai lunch, give it a try. Located in a small plaza so the parking is ample. This was a good sized restaurant, modern and clean. I stepped in just before noon and they already had a small lunch crowd which seemed to grow, to perhaps two dozen people. A good sign in my mind. My food was good, and came out lightning fast! Two people were sharing the jobs of hostess and server and cashier so I can imagine they could get overwhelmed with a huge crowd. But their speed and attentiveness was excellent at this visit, my first one. The lunch menu had a good selection of choices, and it was a substantial amount of food as well. I had to take some home. I got the salad with my meal instead of the wonton soup, salad had the ginger dressing But was unusual in that they included cucumber and tomato. Very good in my opinion and good-sized too! Nice joint, I shall return...
Saks is one of our favorite restaurants. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is because the last time we were there they were understaffed and the service was dissatisfying. Other people in the restaraunt were also upset, one couple walked out after sitting due to never being greeted by a waiter. I do hope it was an off night for Saks and will give them another shot to earn 5 stars.
Food is good. I and my friends always go there when we want to eat good food. But service is sometimes very bad when the place is filled up. Because there are only two people who serve. No matter how busy or slow. I wont recommend if you are in a hurry and dont excuse if not treated well.
I like most of the food at Sak's Thai, but the pickup process here is absolutely atrocious. I imagine this problem may only be on the weekends, but feel I have to write about it. Called for pickup around 5:30, which seemed early to me and they said it would be an hour. This didn't bother me since I don't mind waiting but one hour is a lot. Then went to pick up the food and see about 15 people waiting in the restaurant for their pickup. The owner came around and kept telling people their food would be ready in 15 minutes, which I found hard to believe. So I left and came back 45 minutes later, and the food still wasn't ready. Almost 2 hours for takeout is really insane. And I would have been OK with this if the owner seemed apologetic, gave us realistic timelines or updates, or offered a discount etc. I'll probably won't order from them anytime soon.
We picked up some take out at this restaurant, they were not open for dining in. The food tasted good, but considering the price the portions were too small. I had the rice pasta with vegetables and tofu, there were only a few tofu pieces, some veggies and the rest of it was the pasta.
The food is good. Green curry with duck, coconut soup with tofu, and the papaya salad were among my favorites. The service can be slow (one of the two times we visited; so perhaps it was a fluke).
Had a disappointing experience here. Took a while to be seated then waited over an hour and a half for our food. Apparently there was only one chef cooking, we only knew this because we asked. Not sure how rare this is but they could have proactively let us know, a thanks for your patience, something like that but nothing. Wait/host staff were not at all apologetic. Our server was nice enough but overall an unfriendly vibe. Food was a mixed bag tofu satay was amazing, chicken satay bad (VERY tough). Tom yum soup was not good. Pad see ew was delicious, noodles very Light with a very well balanced sauce. Chicken in basil sauce got good reviews. Cashew dish a bit sweeter than expected. Tofu massaman (peanut curry) and pad puk (mixed vegetables) were ok, nothing special. We might come back for the pad see ew, otherwise not impressed.l
They have great food, BUT they seem to never answer their phone!! Based on several times I’ve tried to phone order a pickup. So I DROVE there to order and order not ready for an hour! And several tables open. What a poor way to run a business. And no apology from them.
Delicious food. 2 stars due to neglecting order instructions. Our order was strictly for vegetarian food - no beef, meat, fish, egg etc. however we found meat pieces in the serving. The dish was replaced. But sentiment was hurt.
Food is great but they are consistently behind on orders. My fiancé and I order from Saks periodically and each time we have to wait beyond what they quoted us for takeout pickup time. This time they quoted us 6:30pm for takeout pickup time and it ended up being ready at 7:20pm. It’s unacceptable and while we truly love the food, we’re not going to be trying Saks again.
slooooooowwwwwwwww waiting 65 min so far came at 5:40. last time ever!!!!! still don't have our dinner. Asked for it to be takeout at this point. they said the reason it is taking so long is that they had a lot of takeout orders. lesson learned...BTW left without our dinner...got fed up.paid for our spring rolls and left. waiter only came by once the whole time we were waiting
Apparently they no longer offer dine in service so don't drive out there looking to try it.
Food was edible and decent nothing really too complain about. The service however, either fire your server or train him better. Short haired guy with facial hair. Greeted with a unwelcoming attitude. Didnt even ask us what we would like to drink, just brought us water. when food came out, did not check up on us once, didnt tell us to enjoy our food, we asked for 3 extra rice, brough us 2, argued with us that we asked for 2. When we asked about recommendations he only replied back with "everything is good". If you dont know the menu and how the food tastes then just admit it. We got one water refill only because we asked him for it. Had to wait 15mins just to get the check, had to hunt him down to ask for our check as well. I was watching him 10mins out of 15mins of the wait and he didnt seem busy at all. He was just wandering around looking for things to do. We were a group of 6 so we asked him to split it, he then countered our request by telling us we should split the bill 6 ways. First of all, i ordered $42 worth of food while others ordered only $12-$16 worth of food. he showed signs of frustration, laziness and was possibly the most unprofessional server. Btw if you want to eat Asian, go to the plaza RIGHT next door to Chakara bistro and bar. Food tastes better and service is so much better
Awful establishment. Placed a take out order and was told 25 minutes on the phone. Showed up 30 minutes later, waited 45 minutes inside still without my food and left. Not a single table seated either. Never again
Horrible horrible horrible service. I can't even explain how bad it was. All the people who worked there were really really rude. The food was edible but I will never go back because of the service. You can get food like this somewhere else. There's a restaurant by this place called Chakara. 100% better! Better service! Better everything. You have a variety of food to choose from. Going to this Thai restaurant really ruined my day. They did not have to ruin my mood that day because of there crappy service. Ridiculous.
We were told 30 minutes for our order. We left and came back and it’s still not done. It’s been close to an hour now and the food is still not ready. This is my third time here. Have had terrible service all three times, each time thinking it would improve. I don’t know how a restaurant can operate like this. Time to move on from this place.
Service was terrible. We waited over an hour for dinner. Our waiter never came to check on us or refill our drinks or ask how anything was. Drinks were warm. Never even brought a high chair over we had to get it ourselves. Food was ok but even the person that cashed us out was rude. We won’t be going back ever!
Do you like excellent Thai food? Sadly after an over hour long wait I cannot tell you if Saks Thai has good food. Because it took more than an hour from time of ordering for them to bring the food to our table. Where do we start? First - and to be fair - it was fairly busy when we got there. That did NOT stop the four tables that came in after us from ordering, getting their food, eating it AND checking out of the restaurant. BEFORE we got our food. How are their prices you ask? Well - even after cancelling my order (because they had me sit in their restaurant for an hour waiting for my lunch) they charged us for my Coke! So - I think their pricing model (and obviously "customer service") is REALLY bad. Everyone makes mistakes right? We all do. It's human. But when you are in the service industry the way you respond to a mistake is what makes the difference. How DID they respond? They did not check on our table. They did not update us at any time. They sat a table of 7 in a corner and ignored us as often and as much as they could. They didn't even apologize. When they finally started to serve us - they got HALF the table their food. The entire restaurant emptied and still - somehow - Saks Thai managed to ignore and neglect our table so half of us had not even received their food until another 10 minutes went by. Our server? Listen - everyone has a bad day. I don't usually blame a server. This server? To call her dismissive would do a disservice to the word dismissive. She absolutely did NOT care that she provided us the worse service I have ever received at a restaurant. Then - as we left - the staff STILL did not offer an apology. How do you run a restaurant where guests get fed up waiting and leave before their food arrives and not offer even a HINT of an apology? Be Saks Thai. That's how. I will NEVER eat at Saks Thai. I will NEVER recommend their restaurant and will actively advise people to avoid it at all costs. If you are looking for Thai food remember - ANY place is better than SAKS Thai. I mean - how good can food be that never arrives?
Large soup, dumplings take out $28 Fool me once never again! No value!
The food was AMAZING as always (5/5), but it took over an hour after the apps were finished to get our meals. It was a busy Friday night but this is the longest wait we’ve ever experienced at ANY restaurant regardless of customer load. I believe they were filling takeouts before the customers in the restaurant. Not good.
We have been their twice. First time 40 minute wait! Decided to give them a second try. This time 1 and 1/2 wait!!!!! Lied to both times!!! When they tell you your food is coming right out that means they have no idea and don't care! Second time we walked out after being told food was coming right out twice in 25 minutes! Met couple in parking lot that said they should have walked out and they were giving it a second try!! Food is good but come on 90 minutes with the repeated "your food is coming right out!!!!
Wow - How does this have a good rating? Is there a different Saks Thai in Fairport NY? Did I go to the wrong one? This is 2 out of 5 at best. I had my in-laws visiting from out of town and they love Thai food, so I looked up the best Thai in Rochester and unfortunately chose Saks. When we arrived there was only one other customer there, yet it took a full 15 minutes before we were served any beverages. I actually had to get up and find our waitress to get any service at all throughout the entire dinner, not once did she voluntarily come to our table! She never refilled any of our drinks, and when I asked for refills from another waiter he told me I had to go ask my waitress not him and walked away. This service is unacceptable! I will say that when we actually got our food the 3 out of 5 dishes that were not cold tasted great. We were in the restaurant for 2 hours and 13 minutes and not once were we asked how our meal was, if we needed anything or even offered a refill on water. They need to keep the cook and fire everyone else. I welcome ownership or management to try and explain how we were treated with such disrespect. I have never had good food leave such a terrible taste in my mouth.
May be a nice restaurant but was not aware that it was take out only until we arrived.
My 19 dollar chicken pad thai was reheated and was sticking together when i opened it at home. Never again, shame on you guys. I ordered a dinner portion and you guys reheated a previous batch.
A few years ago Saks was one of our favorite restaurants. My partner raved about how great the chef was, and she loved going there when in town. Though we always thought the plaza was a very poor location, the interior of the restaurant was comfortable, nicely decorated, and appealing. I invited friends there for special occasions. Things have dramatically changed!! Though the tables, chairs, and other furnishings are still there in two dining rooms, none of that space is currently being used. They now offer takeout only. What a shame! But in addition to the loss of a previously nice dining experience, the greater shame is the poor quality of the food now. The food we recently ordered was literally the worst I have had at any restaurant since I can remember. I specifically ordered a dish which the menu indicated included a lot of "stir fry" vegetables and didn't mention "sweet" as most of the other entrees did. Amongst the protein options I selected fish. The food was ridiculously sweet to the point of being repulsive. The fish turned out to be so breaded and deep fried (which the menu didn't state) that I honestly couldn't tell if it was actually fish. The "stir fry" vegetables I had ordered were few, and floating in a super-sweet "soup." I'm not normally so critical of restaurants, as I understand there are different styles and people have different tastes. But the only good thing about this experience was finding out that we must never consider going to Saks again. It was that bad!
