Secret Gem!!!! Passing by for years but never went in. Today I had my first try and it was AMAZING!!!! Nice clean and comfortable atmosphere. The people are so nice!! I had the Lunch Special Bento Box was pretty hefty!! Flavorful, Fresh, Quick. This place is definitely becoming a favorite!!

Excellent family business restaurant. Authentic Japanese food, awesome service, food quality and its presentation!! Everything is delicious, and fresh. It takes a bit longer because everything is made at the moment but it’s worth it. It feels like a piece of Japan in the US.

What an amazing find for me in the heart of Compton. The sushi here is absolutely authentic and it tastes amazing. It was recommended to me by a friend and I checked it out and have been coming here pretty often. Even during COVID19 epidemic, I usually order one or twice a week since it's so close to home. I definitely recommend checking it out!

Great find thanks to Eater LA- sushi in Compton is here. Almost isolated like a cute house on a hill this Japanese restaurant has a great selection of sushi, bowls, ramen and even Japanese drinks. Awesome decor and a friendly staff. Definitely a favorite for me now.

I've lived in Compton for years and I used to visit this place when it used to be Durango's Burgers. When Kumi Ko first came I waited years to try it, and ever since I go any chance I can. Great food (Sushi is my go to), great atmosphere, and the service amazing. Definitely a hidden gem.

Really good ambience traditional Japanese vibes Food and portions are great had the shrimp tempura with the kumi ko udon. Food flavors and presentation were great food ingredients fresh and prices were also budget friendly.

This was my first time her with my family. It was the best ever. Never have I been to a sushi restaurant that has best quality and the best taste. I tried the lobster popcorn roll the best, yakisoba delicious!, Also tried spicy edamame, Philly roll,beef gyoza. This food is so good, delicious my family loved it. I am definitely coming back, recommend it to everyone looking for great sushi.

One of the best sushi dinners we have ever had. Chef Bruce Lee and the staff were amazing, thank you for introducing us to katsuo, snapper and Bonito flakes. Mackerel was out of this world. Scottish salmon and hamachi... melt in your mouth

Everything we order is delicious! We have been coming here since they opened a few years ago and will continue coming. Even throughout the pandemic their quality has remained 5-stars. The owners are so sweet and love our kids too.

The staff are friendly. We enjoyed the Kitchen boat. The garlic fried rice with chicken was very good and tasted similar to hibachi fried rice. Brought my young nephews and they enjoyed the beef and chicken teriyaki. Will definitely come again and will try other sushi and noodles dishes.

I've eaten a lot of sushi in the Los Angeles area over the last 25 years and decided to go visit my daughter and go to this place for the first time.... It was great food... The chef is so nice and the atmosphere is pleasant and peaceful.... The roll that was my favorite was called "Shogun "... It was absolutely delicious... The other items we had were also great... I would highly recommend this place!! When I'm back in town this is definitely a favorite stop in the future.

Very fresh and very tasty fish is what we received. Itamae did not have everything that was on the menu, however, he was there to point out the better and fresher items and there was not one issue with anything that we ordered. He also presented us with a little concoction on the house- very nice!

Coworkers and I were planning a lunch for Halloween and we all planned ahead of time, sent everyone the link to THEIR MENU so we had the order ready. Turns out menu items have been discontinued for 5+ years, the prices are all different , gratuity was adjusted by the owner himself, owner said the food would take 2 hours bc he had to “hire a chef” ? They decided to cancel the order instead bc of the service and misinformation! Our coworker tried to bring back a copy of the receipt to show everyone the change in amount and the owner followed them to the door demanding “give me the receipt”!!! It was 16+ orders so 16+ of us were disappointed and WILL NOT TAKE OUR BUSINESS THERE!

The order came out to over $400 when I went in and they TIPPED THEMSELVES $60!! So many of the orders were WAY OVER PRICED and they said the online menu was over 6 years old and one of the orders wasn’t available anymore!!! They gave me so much attitude and blamed me!!! And they tried to snatch my receipt!!!??? What th was that about!! Yeah no everything was super overpriced and the fact that they tipped for themselves and added more after!!
