Taco Bueno Flower Mound Reviews
Their refried beans are like eating candy. I cannot get enough! The Beef Chilada Platter is my favorite. The crispy beef tacos pair well with the beans also!
The young lady working the front needs a raise. She is very polite and professional. I like to see people who still care about the business that they work for. Excellent employee! May God Bless your establishment!
Even arriving 10 min before closing the staff is friendly and the food is good.
Location and bathroom was clean. Servers were awesome, professional, courteous, knowledgeable of products/goods, and were constantly busy. I did not observe anyone standing around idly and there was excellent team work between the entire crew. Food was hot, delicious, and had great appearance.
A late night drive-thru dinner and the Bueno was pretty bueno. Party burritos were fresh, hot, and tasty. The B.O.B. was a little underwhelming and lightly filled, but tasted good. Had I not been eating while driving, I'm sure the red salsa would have kicked it up a notch. Alas, eating-while-driving spills are not my thing.
Got there a few minutes before close and they still made 20 burritos and 2 cups of salsa in almost no time. And despite the late hour and the speed at which they threw them together, the burritos were well constructed and perfect. Thanks for taking care of my family's late night cravings.
I've been eating at Bueno since they opened their first location in Abilene, TX back in the 70s and were selling tacos and burritos for 79 cents. Bueno has the best fast food Tex-Mex! I love their bean burritos with the chili sauce. I have never been inside this location but have done the drive-thru several times. The food has always been fresh and good.
We enjoyed our visit when we walked in and was greeted by Shirley! She was so nice and welcoming! Not often do you get that kind of service! Hope to see more employees like her in the future! As,I told my husband. She is the face of this Taco Bueno!
As fast food Mexican goes Bueno really good and that particular location is amongst the best. It's super clean and the staff is absolutely great. We will as incredibly happy when this location opened and it continues to be to deliver at a high level. I would highly recommend stopping here if you want something fast and inexpensive.
Great location, very friendly staff, clean store, very consistent and they've never messed up my order! Best Bueno I've been to! Love the guys audio messages at the drive thru!
The staff here is always a pleasure to interact with. They smile, always get my order right, and when they offer extra products it doesn't feel like they're forced to "at gunpoint". They appear to genuinely like their jobs and what they do, so coming here is a joy.
Been there a couple of times now. Even though the old main & 35 location was my go to since the late 80's this place is much, much, much cleaner & fresher. You also don't have to dodge ceiling tiles falling from above during & after a rain shower at this new location.
Truly good👍The food is fresh and hot at its best. I highly recommend it.
GREAT NEW MANAGEMENT! Very friendly employees, and very tasty food! I love the salsa bar! Great taco joint!
Even just before closing the employees are so nice. The food is still good too! Love this place.
Fresh! I’ve been coming to this Taco Bueno for a little over a year since it’s near my doctors office. Every visit over that time has been positive. The ingredients are fresh…beef crunchy tacos have the perfect amount of spice and are never stale. The flour tortillas are always soft and the beans have a great consistency. I’m a bueno head from way back so have high expectations. The workers are always nice too. Really glad I found this location…best one in DFW!
I've been eating at Bueno since I was a little kid. My mom used to be a manager at one back in the day. This is the first location I've been to that appears to have the same standards of food quality and freshness that my mom did over 10 years ago. For that, I'm truly grateful. It brings back the memories of the times I'd spend at Bueno waiting on my mom to finish her shift. She ran a tight ship and always made sure the place was clean and the food was perfect. I'll definitely be back.
Mexican male Manager he's very kindly taco nachos very delicious 😋🤤
This is a tried and and true fast food, Mexican. They do it better than all of the others. If they serve their food on real plates with real silverware, they would be considered a Mexican restaurant. Their chili con carne is exceptional in any dish that it is added to is wonderful. The quality of the food shows in every bite.
Just wanting to say a big THANK YOU to this Taco Bueno location. My family has been lifelong customers of Bueno. This location always has the best service and product! I went on 12/17/25 and got some of the best big ol’ burritos I’ve had in my life there, but really any time I’ve gone I’ve gotten fantastic orders and lovely memorable service. Thank you Bueno employees! 5 stars!
Really solid Taco Bueno! The food is pretty fresh, the service is friendly, and the restaurant is very nice with free salsa I would highly recommend for cheap Mexican food
Hi employee at taco bueno flowermound tx. Like lot taco meat and refried beans for lunch and Like Coca-Cola best. Be regular customers at taco bueno flowermound tx. Keep care customers all time.
This location seems to be stepping up their game recently. The past two times I have eaten here, I have found the food to be particularly fresh and well cooked. The tacos had almost no grease at all left in the wrapper and the beans on my tostado were very fresh. Even the drinks seem better than normal with plenty of flavoring and carbonation present. I really do hope whoever is managing the location now sticks around. I have always loved Bueno so I will be continuing to visit. I recommend you give this location a try and I hope you are as happy as I have been with their food as not all locations are this good.
First time going there the other day. Restaurant was clean, staff was friendly, food is pretty good. Will definitely be going back to try more things.
Consistent and good fast food
I love this new location. This one seems more up yo date, clean, and well lit. So much better than most of the older buildings Taco Bueno uses. The best comparison would be between this location in Flower Mound, versus the one near I-35E and Main Street in Lewisville.
Drive through, 2 Bean tostada's. Some day I'll try their frozen margaritas. Their standard salsa is pretty bad. I asked for one of their hotter salsas and ended up with no salsa whatsoever.
I really like the staff and the salsa at this Taco Bueno. It has good food for fast food. Their taco salad are huge and fresh. I really like the Mexi Dips and Chips. It comes with queso, guacamole and refried beans, so you will be full the rest of the day. They are really fast and friendly here. They offer door dash service.
If your in a hurry for fast Mexican food then I recommend Taco Bueno. Good food at great prices. Having a party? Then purchase their 10 dollar WHOLOTTABOX MEAL. Great value and their salsas and beans are made fresh daily.
The best fast Mexican food I'm the area. Fresh salsa, chips and food that simply taste fresher and better than the competition. A nice clean atmosphere with comfortable seating. Super friendly service.
The service was great ! I had the street tacos. The chicken and pork was great. The steak was very tough. I also had mango tea which was great but it needs 2 be a larger size.
Good Taco Bueno. Awesome nachos and good burritos as well. Nice staff. Our cashier repeated the order back to make sure it was correct. The dining room needed a little attention and the water machine was down at the time I was there. The mucho nachos were great. Try them.
Seems like the manager has been there awhile. He runs a tight ship and the service is great.
The bueno has almost priced folks out. Feeding 2 adults and a small child ran almost 40 monies. Might as well go to a chain restaurant
Taco Bueno is a little better on quality, compared to Taco Bell in my opinion. This is a brand new location that just open so the place is nice on the inside & out. They had a lot of employees on site to help deal with the large opening day crowds. All the staff were friendly & helpful. The food was just what I expect when eating at a Taco Bueno. It's not the highest quality food, but it works when in a pinch.
Food was OK. Got there at 8:30 pm and they were already closing the inside of the restaurant, no condiments were out. Floor was already mopped. It made us feel unwelcome since we were dining in.
Decent food, Went 30 minutes prior to closing and all sauces on the bar were put away. When leaving 10 minutes before closing, tried to get a refill on my soda and machine was off and all nozzles were removed.
For some reason salsa is considered something you have to ask for when you order a taco. I had them try to charge me for it at the drive through the other day when it is standard for each taco. Then when we ordered door dash delivery no salsa with tacos. Disappointing without. Of course you would want salsa with tacos. This a site management issue. Frustrating.
Clean store and the food was good. However, they we're very skimpy on the Taco's. Basically they only filled the tacos half full. A lot of shell and very little meat lettuce and cheese. Sad.
They made my order wrong twice. No listening skills practiced here. Taco ingredients were smaller than usual. This store has always been fine, but not this time.
This location used to be the best in this area. Now it's awful. Customer service also leaves a lot to be desired. They've changed the recipe to their beans. They are almost always dry/crunchy. Thankfully the dining room is usually clean.
For just a bit more money, I can get a Taco Casa crispy taco with way more filling, cheese, tomatoes...etc. I will say that burrito (new menu item, I think) was very good. And I like the salsa (I'm from San Antonio). On par with Taco Bell, actually, but a notch below Taco Casa.
The party tacos were extremely skimpy on meat..mostly shell. I got a ton of hot sauce, which I don't eat, but no jalapeño ranch, which I specifically requested. Had to wait for my order as well.
As much as I like Taco Bueno, it pains me to say that this visit was not up to the usual standards. The 3 of us were the only ones in the restaurant for breakfast and 2/3 of one of our orders was left off the tray. The food was good as usual.
I like bueno a lot. But this one is terrible at taking orders. You can tell it's a management issue, because they never have the same people and it's always a problem. Slow, rude, constantly wrong orders. What food you do get can be good as long as it's not softshell or the muchaco. They're always dried out
Taco Bueno hold a place in my heart as my family's first 'real' mexican food experience when we moved to Texas. That being said this particular visit was the worst tasting one i have ever had. The meats were not flavored. The nachos cheese was more water than cheese. Talk about soggy chips. Normally that would rate 1 or even 0 stars but the little chimicanga desserts were very good and at least ended the visit on a good note.
Taco No Bueno Bean burrito - 1/10 (had beef in it) Chicken muchacho - 6/10 Chicken potato burrito - 4/10 Chicken fajita flatbread? snack - 5/10
This is the worst location in the area. Every time I go here the chips are either stale, or the food is sloppily made. I ordered 3 party burritos and they made them the absolute smallest I've ever had, I'm pretty sure they used street taco tortillas. The beans were smeared all over the outside of the burritos. I do not know why this location is consistently worse than all other locations and it's a shame because it's so close to my work. The round grove location is so much better than this place.
I've been here probably a dozen times due to its proximity to our neighborhood. The food is mostly fine--if you get what you ordered. 3/4 times I visit, I end up having to turn around and come back because the food is either wrong or things are missing from the order. If I didnt like the food, we would have stopped coming to this location a long time ago. For example, most recent visit, I spent nearly 30 min in the drive through. Two people in front of me bailed because of the wait. When I did finally get my food, it was cold. It really seems like they are understaffed to run the drive thru and the counter inside at the same time, but that's just a guess.
Visited drive thru at 715pm. Not busy at all but even after making us pull up to get out the drive thru lane they still managed to give us somebody else's order. Had to go in and argue with receipt to get our food. Tell us what to do and they still screwed it up. These people aren't watching what they are doing and don't seem to care. They probably had to toss the wrong food they gave us and likely whoever got our food.
Changed hours to where lobby closes at 8 PM. Politely ordered a chicken quesadilla and asked for it “well done,” so the cheese would actually come out melted. They disregarded my request as the cheese was not fully melted. Further, Taco Bueno used to have more of a fajita chicken in the quesadillas & either this location made it wrong of they changed the recipe. I received shredded chicken, which had an odd aftertaste and was not as good. I do not recommend this location.
Went downhill FAST after opening! At first it was great! Orders were right, people were friendly, place was clean and in a timely manner! Now....it’s just bad! Last week they messed up a simple order and I didn’t catch it until it was too late....gave them another chance this week and not only was it wrong and I made them fix it....it took 13 minutes for a party taco and a chili cheese wrap....and they weren’t even busy! I don’t get it....
This store simply can not get a order correct. For a fast food restaurant the food is above average but every time I order at the drive through the order is wrong. Last night it was three orders of Chips with Queso. The queso was water thin and oh yeah NO CHIPS.
I ordered the new Frito Chile pie. Very disappointed, I got maybe 3 teaspoons of meat and a container of stale chips....definitely will not order again!
This location is terrible. Always check your order before you leave! It’s 50/50 if they forget something. Also, the food is different than other locations. The burritos are always missing the chili sauce so they are gross with just beans and a little sprinkle of cheese. The employees working the drive through and counter are always nice and hard working. It’s just a kitchen/management issue.
This particular franchise/location is awful. They don’t seem to care and it shows. The men’s bathroom is dirty, and hasn’t had a working soap dispenser for months. I know because I keep trying it in hopes they will change. The entire staff, when I am there around 6:30 PM during the week, acts like they don’t want to be there. Not friendly at all. Not rude, but not friendly either. I showed up on Sunday and the dining room was closed despite the sign on the window saying they would be open until 8 PM. On two separate occasions when I ordered the cheesecake chimichangas, they were almost burned and obviously cooked in very old oil. I can’t list all of the problems with this particular store, other locations are perfectly fine. The store with the awful quality and service is on 4500 Long Prairie Road in Flower Mound Texas.
Maybe it’s just me but the last few times we have ordered food here everything tastes like burnt grease! The chips, the bean burritos everything. The grease even leaves a coating in your mouth after eating. Taco Bueno I have loved you for so long but these last few times have just been bad!
The last few times I have gone to this Taco Bueno the food quality has been terrible - today I ordered Chilada platter and tortillas were hard and stale - same for burrito I ordered for my wife. Besides that there were 3 cars ahead of me when I arrived at drive-thru - took 20m to get my food
The worst Bueno I've ever had. I got the three items for $6 did not even finish my three items
I love Bueno. I've been a Bueno head forever. My issue with this location is the drive thru and ordering. They are way too slow, and the same thing happens every single time at this location during lunch for me. They don't take your order until the person at the window is leaving with their meal. This means they are serving one customer at a time. It also means they aren't making my order until I get to the window. Today took more than 15 minutes. By the time I got my food, my lunch time was basically over so I tried to eat in the car. Since my food was just made, it burned my mouth. Ridiculous. And of course they charged me for the sour cream I asked for but didn't get it. There's always room for improvement- everywhere. I just hope this Bueno takes a lesson from Chick fil a.
Slowest drive thru ever. I love their food so I still come here but they are always understaffed and I have to wait 30 to 40 minutes for "fast" food. Please, Taco Bueno, treat your loyal customers better than this
They were dishonest about what came with the meal. I asked if it came with a drink and was told no at first. The I was told it did, so I ordered a drink. I was given a price and drove to the window. The rude employee then told me a different price. When I said that it was not what I was told she lied and said she was talking to someone else. I gave her my card and when she came back she charged me the price was the higher cost. I told her that was not what I was told and she asked how was it her fault? I told they were being dishonest and she said so. I told her I would be be back and said condescendingly bye. I would give zero stars if I could.
While I generally like the product served at Taco Bueno, their drive thru service is very unacceptable. Many times including this evening, I get home with my order and they have left items out THAT I HAVE PAID FOR! If you are packing the to go order, YOU HAVE ONE JOB!! THAT IS TO PUT THE ITEMS IN MY BAG THAT I HAVE PAID YOU FOR. So, I get home unpack my order and items are missing . So, now you have ruined my meal time with my family because I either have to go back to the place to get the rest of the order while my family eats or I can have whoevers order is missing just eat half of the items that were ordered AND PAID FOR. So tonight I choose to call and discuss this and I am assured that the manager will call me back and of course, that never happens. So I would think twice about using their drive thru service, because they are really good at taking your money..... Not so good at providing you with the items you purchased.
they were making customer's food the other day NOT wearing masks!!!! We are in a pandemic people!!!! Manager didn't care and as a matter of fact she was upset when I said I want a refund. Where is the owner? I read a lot of bad reviews. I guess he doesn't care.
There is always something wrong with my order. Had to go back and pick up half of my order because they didn't put it in the bag. And Now I'm not going back, they left my rice and beans off my oder. I just won't go back to that location. I'm not going there for just a drink and taco, I'm buying dinner for my family. 😡
Totally disappointed. I know this is fast food "Mexican" food, but this was really awful. Old rice, green sour cream not quac, pitiful salsa (tastes like cheap jarred picante sauce), weird cardboard taste in beef taco. Watch out for refried beans in your flatbread taco. Shredded chicken enchilada was decent, though. Me and my son felt mildly sick 30 min after. NEVER.AGAIN.
Pulled in at 9:40PM to get something. The guy told me they couldn’t serve me any food because there was only one person there. Why would you have 1 person there just to tell people that you can’t serve them. Either close up shop or hire people who will show up to their shifts.
If I catch covid it's because the only employees wearing masks are the cashiers. Edit: They've all removed their masks since the time I sat down to eat. The cashier was even rubbing at her no-mask face. Do not eat here if you're immunocompromised! The shame of this location being in the parking lot of a hospital! Edit: And I KNOW the cook didn't wash her hands because I just used that toilet and there wasn't any soap!!!
This is a sad location....take pride in your work, even if you dont your work place. Customers should not suffer due to the laziness and rudness of the staff. Food was cold and burritos looked smaller then taquitos. When did the potato burritos stop having cube potatoes and started putting soggy hashbrowns in place. Get it together
Went in there last night. Manager, Cynthia, running the counter had lots of attitude. Apparently they got an order wrong and she was refunding a customer her money. Cynthia chunked the customers food to the side. Then we stepped up. Long story short, the attitude was so bad we decided it was best we just leave before completing the order. My wife went back in to get contact info and Cynthia says, "I wasn't rude to you, lady." Wow! This is the face of this franchise? Pretty sure it's the same manager that shows up in other negative reviews. I was a big Bueno fan. Now I can see why they are going out of business. They just don't care!
When I pulled up to the drive-thru, the employee opened up the window and pulled out his Taco Bueno and came on my face. Wouldn't recommend.
Always a let down at this location... not sure why I give them second, third and fourth chances... my last visit (20 minutes ago) resulted in my food being cold and poorly put together. You'd swear they were making food in the dark... Now hiring signs should be a dead give, away every time... RUN I won't be coming back until I can dine in and complain to their faces, on the spot, when my food appears to have been made by a 4 year old...
Some guy got my order wrong. He said he could fix my order if I went to the back with him. Lets just say, I cant walk well for a few days.
Rude staff at drive through. First time coming to any taco bueno will be my last. Talking shit in Spanish when i told them to give me a minute to order. (Yes i am a fluent spanish speaker as well . So i understood him perfectly). Food was disgusting too.
Every time I come here, the employees are extremely rude and get my order wrong every single time. I ordered chips and a large queso. They give me a HALF FILLED “large” queso cup (should not even be considered large) and then told me I did not order chips after I already paid for them and showed the receipt. Then when I bring it to their attention they forgot something, the employees are less than willing to help and are rude. This place is not worth spending money on, and need to re-evaluate their employees. Every one of them act inconvenienced. I’m surprised this place is still in business, and will never spend my money here again.
Had to repeat order twice at speaker and again after receiving. The onions on the side were frozen and I didn't get napkins or the amt of hot sauce I asked for at window. Then the burrito was folded in a way that everything was falling out when I unwrapped it. In addition, the taco shell was wet. 2nd time here, 2nd bad experience.
Ran through the drive through this evening. Attendant was Very quick to take my order and my money. Immediately after I was asked to pull over to a parking spot and wait; they would bring it out. I did not have a big order… taco salad and beef taco. 15 minutes later my food came out. I review the receipt looks good so off I go heading home. When I open the bag I find a bean burrito and nachos. Terrible experience all the way around
HORRIBLE customer service experience. On Sunday around at 10:30 I calmly and kindly repeated my order several times to the man working at the window. and even showed a picture of REFRIED BEANS. Yet I was still given pinto beans with cheese. I did not ask for that and I told him I didn’t want it and handed it back. I then calmly asked for a reversed charged and handed him a receipt. He said “okay”, shut the door and wouldn’t even open it again. I waited for 5 minutes before leaving. The worst taco bueno location I’ve ever been to. Never coming back.
I don’t like giving bad reviews but this unfortunately is warranted. Went around 8pm and several items were missing from our order, almost no beef in our food either. To make matters worse.. our card was charged 3 times for the meal. Hopefully with this feedback we can get this place back up to the great standards it’s had in the past.
Generally the food and service is great and I have nothing to complain about. I work late nights and this is one of few options to get from 11-12pm. Unfortunately I went to the drive-thru tonight and their auto-message said they were closed.... at 11:45pm on a Friday night.... when in fact they do not close until 1am! Then I was greeted by a very salty toned man asking what I wanted. I tried asking if the message was true and that I didn't want to order if they were closing. He sounded very annoyed that I knew what time they closed and that I didn't just drive away like he had hoped after hearing the message. I felt like these slackers were just being lazy and were just trying to seem closed so they could have an easy night. I work in the food industry and I can understand if they closed at 12pm to have this happen but not when it was well over an hour from close.....very disappointed. I don't think corporate will enjoy hearing their employees are 'closing early' and costing the business money..... UPDATE: this has happened twice now
worst and rudest location. they wanted to charge me for a drink to put a splash of lemonade in my daughters water!
Ordered the taco salad a few days ago. The shells were old/stale. The young man at the counter was very professional. The cooks, well, the food was horrible.
Ordered the frito burrito from the Flower Mound location to take to work. Just ate it and there were no fritos.
Had an advertisement price on the counter for a wholotta platter. Charged me the menu price instead. Asked about it and was told that only for a picture, pointed and the wall and was told again that that's why we have the menu on the wall for the price. I asked why is there an advertisement price on the picture, again was told the price is on the wall, not the advertisement price on the counter. I let her know that it is false advertisement and should be removed so no one else aksed about the pricing. She just folded it to hide the price.
We pulled up at 850, and their employee ran over and locked the door as soon as they saw our headlights. Sign said that the inside is open until 9. We wanted to order carry out and make my own salsa cups. Wish they left the indoor area open according to posted hours. Took our money elsewhere and will continue to do so because of this.
Wouldn't recommend. Staff was extremely rude and didnt seem to know what they were doing. Was charged $33 which showed up on my bank statement showing it was charged and the manager tried to tell me it didn't go through because the receipt didn't print off. Turns out they were out of printer paper and the order DID go through. When talking to the lady at the window, telling them they need to get their business in better shape she slammed the window on me. I love Taco Bueno but will not be going back to this location. I've worked in food service most of my life and they lack serious customer service skills.
This place is a joke and needs to be shut down. I ordered a brisket taco and cheescake mini chimis. Instead of telling me they didn't have any brisket, they charge me $3.24 for crumbs and onions in a tortilla! And the cheesecake mini chimi...well the picture speaks for itself...BURNED! Every single one of them! I'm done...
