El Vicentino Flushing Reviews
El Vicentino is perfect! On the recommendation of my El Salvadorian friend celebrating a birthday, I visited El Vicentino on Saturday, March 6 for what can only be described as the most authentic El Salvadorean experience I've ever had. From the best pupusas I've ever tasted to authentic soft drinks, if you close your eyes you would think you are in El Salvador, but you can have all the flavor, history, and culture here in Queens, NY! I'd strongly recommend and if I lived closer, I'd be a regular! And you can feed a family on a budget.
Great food, great service and over a great experience. I'll definitely be back for more.
As someone who has been looking for good Salvadoran food in NYC, this is the place to go. The place is small and intimate; but the portions are large and the prices are amazing. The server, manager and owners were so nice. I will be back again.
This spot has more visitors than before. Ideal spot. The staff shows kindness, warmth, hospitality, and skill. The menu offers forgettable options. This place should be on your shortlist.
Good food and big portions! Angelique was very nice and welcoming.
Any time I have a craving for pupusas this is my go to place! Everyone is really nice and the food hits the spot 👌
It was my first time trying Salvadoran food. it was truly amazing. I genuinely loved the Pupusas. We ended up trying 3 different options (out of the many that they had to offer) the one that stood out the most was Loroco con Queso. The customer service was amazing. the food was served in amazing proportions that we ended up having left overs that we took with us. Everyone was kind and polite, I was even taught how to eat pupusas the authentic Salvadoran way ! it was amazing adding the toppings on top of the pupusas. they had a great music selection as well. I loved the Hibiscus and home horchata !
It's a cozy restaurant with a terrific menu. We wanted to try some Central America food, and we weren't disappointed. The waiter recommended the shrimp and pork pupusas, which were great, and they also offered sangria, which was a nice combination with what we ate. Had their Bandeja Salvadorena and Yuca y Chicharron. The yuca and fried pork was delicious. Will go back and try other menu items. Outdoor dining is an option with the cooler weather approaching.
The pupusas are incredibly delicious, offering a remarkable sensation of freshness. The beans are irresistibly addictive. I absolutely must sample the Sangria, it is simply divine. I will return next week. The prices are exceptionally favorable, making it irresistible to refrain from placing multiple orders. September 15th: Commemorating a significant occasion. All are invited to attend.
What truly sets El Vicentino apart is their dedication to preserving the authenticity of traditional recipes. The Sopa de Gallina India here is prepared with meticulous attention to detail, staying true to its Salvadoran roots. Every ingredient is carefully selected, ensuring the utmost freshness and quality in every bite. Aside from the impeccable taste, the presentation of the dish was also noteworthy. Served with a side of warm tortillas, the Sopa de Gallina India exuded rustic charm, inviting diners to indulge in a hearty meal reminiscent of home-cooked comfort food. Moreover, the ambiance of El Vicentino further enhances the dining experience. Whether you're enjoying a meal with family or savoring a solo lunch, the cozy atmosphere and friendly staff make you feel right at home. In conclusion, if you're craving a taste of El Salvador, look no further than El Vicentino. Their Sopa de Gallina India is a culinary masterpiece that promises to tantalize your taste buds and leave you craving for more. Highly recommended for anyone seeking an authentic and unforgettable dining experience.
UPDATE 10/08/21: To enter and eat inside the restaurant it is required to present the COVID vaccination card, now they also have an outdoors space to eat, the customer service could improve and also the speed with which the food is served, otherwise, everything was very tasty and clean, we will be back, the owner is very friendly. Delicious food from my country El Salvador, I recommend it very much
Absolutely loved the food and the service was incredible. If your looking for real authentic El Salvadorian food this place is it. The owner is such a nice guy and he checks in to make sure everything is good! Me and my friend came here on our lunch break and the food was fresh and the taste was amazing! Highly recommend to anybody wanting some good authentic food!!!
Came to have pupusas for the first time and omggg im so glad we came here! Everything was sooo delicious, i ordered the bandeja salvadoreña which came with a pupusa de queso & i some meat in it. And then ordered a variety of their other pupusas. Everything was so yummy and their fruit juices freshly made were also really good. The only negative was it did take a while to get the pupusas meanwhile my bandeja came out pretty quick. I would say its worth it though because it was packed the whole time we were there! The people who worked there were so kind and you can tell its a family run business. I cant wait to come back and bring my family
I personally haven’t had too much Salvadoran food in my life, but this restaurant was great. The prices here are unbeatable, and the value is great. 1 bean & cheese pupusa is $3 and very delicious. If you haven’t had Salvadoran food before, they give you 2 types of slaws and sauces. One that’s mild and one that’s spicy. It’s definitely a great addition to give some tang, spice, and crunch to the pupusa. My girlfriend wanted to kinda make a custom pupusa, with avocado and chicken, which isn’t on the menu but gladly accepted the order. Plantains were one of the freshest ones I’ve ever had. I would be coming back here often if I lived in the neighborhood!
Small, family restaurant with basic dishes. No frills
I've ordered from here a few times. The food is ok but if you're serving pupusas with cortido, then make sure it is fresh. Almost every single time I order it is old and tastes gross. And it would be polite to thank your customers when they pick up their food. I can easily take my business somewhere else. Like up the road. If you're in the restaurant business, which you are then act like you appreciate your customers.
Usually do not like to give bad reviews. But I feel this restaurant does not apply their policies correctly. Their bill requires a tip of 18% for parties of 6. But I have learned they apply the tip of 18% to any size party. When asked to talked to a manager there was none present. I sympathize with the waiters but not with malpractice.
