Long time customer. The mushroom kimbap and spicy tuna kimbap are the best here
Recommend the jajangmyeon my favourite thing to eat here can't beat it for the price
My favorite kimbop place in the entire NYC with free parking in the back. Ladies are always friendly. Place your over the phone and get there in 10-15 mins to save time. I see that many people dine in as well.
I’ve been getting gimbap from here ever since I was a child. The taste is still the same and the service is great. I’ve tried gimbap from other places throughout NY, and none of them come close to Nolbu’s. It’s honestly the best you can get. Their crispy chicken is also wonderful with the light, crispy, and chewy exterior with the juicy chicken inside. A small is enough for me, and even then I have extra left over. If you’re in the area, craving some gimbap, you should stop by Nolbu. There are so many choices and options that I’m sure you’re bound to find something that caters to your taste buds!
$15-20 for 2 orders of kimbap takeout Kimbap is flavorful, unlike many other takeout kimbaps in the area and the parking lot behind the restaurant makes picking up lunch orders hassle-free. Soup included with every order and orders are ready within 15 minutes when you call early (phone number on google incorrect, call using the number shown in pictures of the menus)
The CHEESE TTEOKBOKKI taste the best!!! Even though the cheese is not melting one, but the sauce is really good! Kimbap are okay, I tried Tuna Kimbap, Spicy tuna Kimbap and spicy bulgogi Kimbap, they are all good. But I don’t recommend the crispy chicken sticks. It’s very chunky but the fried powder layer is toooo thick, the chicken actually is very little The staffs are friendly here, even they might not know English well. Overall, it’s 4 stars
The most under rated kimbap spot in queens. Kimbap here is made fresh and stuffed to the max with ingredients. Spicy tuna, spicy beef and squid were all killer. The rice cake was delicious and perfect texture but the American cheese threw me off a bit. I think a mozzarella cheese would’ve been better, the American cheese flavor made the rice cakes taste a little weird. The beef and kimchi dumpling was another shocker, delicious and highly underrated. Another must order is the fried chicken. Crunchiest fried chicken you can ever have. Especially dipped in the rice cake soup, it was an experience. I just wish the rice cake soup didn’t use American cheese...
Comfort bunsik food. It's not extraordinary, but if you're looking for a quick bite, this is a good spot. The combo gimbap didn't have much flavor. I didn't see the ham inside my gimbap; it just tasted like mushrooms. I didnt like how they used lettuce instead of cooked spinach. The fried chicken breading was good---it had a nice crisp. But ratio of chicken and breading was off; it was more like fried dough. Chicken was also dry. I liked the tteokbokki and gimmari. Tteokbokki wasn't too spicy and they were generous with the veggies. Gimmari was 3 for $5. Kinda pricy for just fried noodle rolls, but they were relatively big, I guess. I paid around $37 for my food.
Out of respect for the food tasting good, I will not give 1 star but I was extremely shocked by the behavior of the cashier. I already paid for the food before it was even served to us and a majority of which was takeout. As we were getting ready to leave, the cashier demanded for tip. While I understand tips are greatly appreciated, they are NOT mandatory. I was certainly not going to tip for the bare minimum, the price I paid for the food pays for that. Unfortunately I will be taking my business somewhere else because I will not eat here in the future if I am made to feel that tip is mandatory. Tip does NOT equal service fee.
I didn’t have time to wait, so I called ahead to place my order and went to pick it up. When I arrived, the food wasn’t even ready and told me to wait. I came back 10 minutes later, and only then did they bring out the food. There was no apology at all. The person at the counter (who seemed to be the owner) had a very unfriendly attitude. I paid in cash, and instead of handing me my change, they just put it down on the counter. It made me feel very uncomfortable and upset. Honestly, when I first came to pick up the order, I should have just canceled it. No matter how good the food may be, the staff’s attitude can easily drive customers away. I’m not sure if the owner realizes that.
