Baja Fresh Folsom Reviews
We ordered chicken and steak fajitas for ten, to go. The food was prepared fresh and fast and was absolutely delicious with all the fixings on the side. The service was wonderful. The food was packaged nicely so it was still hot when we got it home.
I have always loved Baja Fresh. Our family misses the nice restaurant in Elk Grove😪 my Carnitas burrito was so flavorful and packed w/goodies 🌯 Best Burritos, Mango salsa, and Pico de Gallo 😋 Excellent friendly customer service from the young lady and young man 👏 Restaurant was so clean, too! Many thanks. . .Happy Holidays 🎄🎁
Wow so many bad reviews in a row. There once was a good Baja Fresh in Folsom back in the day (near Intel in Safeway shopping center). This one is clearly mismanaged and dragging down the brand. They seem to get decent reviews during lunch hour. Maybe just operate the store between 11 and 2?
This is a good Baja Fresh. It's a smaller one, and connected to a gas station, but the food is better here than the typical Baja Fresh (I am already a fan of Baja Fresh food). Seems like two brothers or friends run the place and they put a bit of extra quality and imagination into the already good Baja Fresh food.
Good food reasons ly priced and he does catering for special events he's a good man help him out
Came in today and both of the ladies working were really nice to us and our kids. The food was hot and fresh and it was pretty delicious. We will be back.
This place is awesome. The guys are so nice and make sure your taken care of. The wait for for food for a few mins. But hey its fresh! Don't come if your in a hurry. If you want great food definitely come here.

This phood was so good I ate it all in 1 bite all tho the guac looked like snot
Najibullah and the gang all do a great job here. Very friendly and the food always good and very quick to receive after the order.
I missed this place so much and finally got to eat here once again. Everything was delicious like I remember it. The chips the burrito, everything was perfect.
Keeping up the good fight! Good food and excellent service, one of the only baja freshes around.
Great place to dine, food was delicious and my food was done quickly and served hot. Just the right amount, not to much not to little. Just right, I appreciate the kind workers and the family atmosphere. I definitely will recommend and return.
Yes, there is no salsa bar any longer. Thats too bad since other locations along I-5 have brought it back since the pandemic. Yes, the back area is sort of hidden from view and its hard to know how your food is prepared, but after 15+ visits over the last 3 years or so I have had all positive experiences. The food is consistently tasty and prepared as you like it. A litte stingy on the salsas, but overall I have never been ill from eating the food there, so that is a plus as well.
I had a great experience at Baja Fresh Mexican Grill! I tried the Tostada Bowl and it was absolutely awesome—fresh ingredients, generous portions, and packed with flavor. Everything tasted super fresh, and the bowl was both filling and well-balanced. On top of that, the price was very reasonable for the quality and portion size. Definitely a great spot if you’re looking for tasty, affordable Mexican food. I’ll be coming back for sure!
I had an amazing experience at Baja Fresh Mexican Grill! The food was super delicious, and everything tasted so fresh. I especially loved the chips and guacamole—absolutely perfect! Can’t wait to come back again soon.

The overall experience at this Baja fresh was decent The food was made nicely the service was very friendly and the only downside I would say is that it was attached to a gas station which took away from the appeal of the restaurant itself
It seems strange that it's connected to a convenience store. Service was great! Food was good, nothing to complain about. There is no more salsa bar which was disappointing.
We came here once before and even though they were supposed to be open they were closed. It appears that only a few people actually work here. This time we came right after they open for lunch. There was one girl working but she was friendly and gave us great service and the food was fresh, hot and delicious. It's attached to a gas station so it was a little weird. They didn't have the salsa bar set us. They just give you everything from the counter. But it was decent enough that I wouldn't mind going back.

Located in a petrol station. Food was good but not on par with other Baja Fresh locations. Smaller portion sizes than other locations. 3 out of 5 stars.
Today was a revisit to the location, and I have to say it was Good before, and now it's well ok.. I guess. First, the lobby and outdoors are nice like any typical Gas Station, the Salsa Bar is being re-purposed as another thing for cold drinks, while the main soda refrigerators are 90% empty and look nothing like displayed photos on the sides. There are 2 soda machines to get refill soda from, so then why would you need the soda bin and 2 refrigerators?? The one guy running it has a bell out, so you can get his attention.. the menu options look great, and pricing is perfect. The food tastes great, but I was interested in why he wanted me to have chicken instead of pork so he wouldn't have to reheat it in the microwave.. Not a lot of the word "Fresh" is being used here. There are lots of large metal tins being used in the refrigerators. Mango Salsa was very runny, with no real hearty chunks of mango in it and kept in large tin in refrigerator. Overall, the food was nice, but definitely, some health issues could be alerted if a random check was done.. Thank you!

Nothing spectacular about this place. The impression I got was, " if this is a restaurant Chain, if feels like they're waiting to be bought my a larger company. That's not necessarily a bad thing. But if just feels unfinished. But the food was decent. I would probably never actually seek out this place for food, but if it was convenient I would eat here again.

One guy working, he was nice. Food came out fast, I think because it's all frozen and pre-made. It was all super salty and not good. Expensive gas-station-quality food.
I gave it to because I love the food. But honestly it deserves a 1. On multiple occasions I have gone to this establishment only to find that it is closed. On another occasion I called to place an order on the phone, only to be placed on hold for over 30 minutes.I took that time to just drive down while still on hold, only to walk in and have the lady say that she never answered the phone and has no idea what I'm talking about. On top of that she claimed they didn't have any food to make my food. This happens almost every time I go there.one in five times that I've ever gone have they been open when they say they're supposed to. Don't waste your time driving there, call first!! They might not even be open. Tonight was the final straw.I called to place my order an hour ahead of time before they were going to close. No one picked up until the 4th call. (I'm seriously not driving there until I know they're open, it's far.) When he answered asking how he can help, I asked to place an order. when he didn't answer, I asked if they were even open. He went on to say that they weren't. And I asked why, to which he replied for maintenance. I said what kind of maintenance? To get back "general". I hung up. I'm so done with this place I swear. I'll drive to Elk Grove for Baja if I have to. **Update: I've gone back once and no problems. Went today at 4:30.... closed for "maintenance"...again. This place sure has a lot of store closing maintenance. ALWAYS CALL AHEAD!
I came in to order a wahoo taco and a chicken burrito mexicano. There was only one guy running the place and he told me that they were out of the wahoo tacos and so then instead of that, I decided to get the chicken taco. The chicken was absolutely dry and flavorless and the taco didn't even have any onions on it. And then the burrito mexicano had no cilantro or salsa in it and they didn't even ask if I wanted hot or mild salsa on my burrito. Every Baja I have been to before this puts salsa and cilantro in the burrito and they put onions on the tacos as well. The chicken is also usually more flavorful. The chips were also kind of stale. This Baja is not like any of the other Baja fresh restaurants that I've been to. They also had a small selection of salsas in the salsa bar. They did not have any of those yellow peppers or any jalapeños.
I've been to many Baja Fresh locations and this one didn't even come close to tasting like the others. The staff was friendly, but will not be going back. Was disappointed in the taste.
Food was ok, never had it before, kitchen was really dirty, guy cooking had no hat and his hair look very flimsy and loose the meat was very questionable the food was edible but definitely not ever going back it was just convenient because it was attached to the gas station definitely do not recommend coming here thank you for taking the time to read my short review 😎

Not horrible but certainly not great. The Burrito Ultimo was small and dry. They did not have steaks so had chicken instead. We were giving them one last try... we're done. Baja Fresh does have very good food if you can find a location that cares about quality, this location does not. Very sad for the corporation!
The food was just okay, but the overall experience left a lot to be desired. The kitchen looked dirty and unsanitary, which was concerning. The person cooking was friendly, but he was also the one taking orders—without gloves or any hair covering, which didn’t feel hygienic. For prices in the $15–$20 range, the food quality should be much better. I hope they clean up the kitchen and improve the quality, because no one wants to pay that much for mediocre food.
Nothing "Fresh" here, barely better than the nearby gas station hotdog...

One star is very generous!! Okay food. Dirty kitchen area, touching food without gloves, poor customer service/ wait time. Don't think i will ever go back to this location.
When I call to order my food they frequently do not answer the phone. The few times they do the girl has a rude tone of voice. She doesn’t even let me finish my order and she hangs up without even saying , “Is there anything else? or thank you.” If I did not like the food so much I would have stopped coming here a long time ago. I always dread having to deal with the poor service every time I come. I wish the owner would hire friendly, respectful people to work there. Gloria is awesome, but she is rarely there because she is usually working in the Elk Grove restaurant.
I placed an order for pickup over the phone, then was told that I could “come in and order if I wanted” but had to explain that I didn’t have the time and was calling so my food was ready when I got there, no biggie. I then arrived 15 minutes later at the gas station/waiting room/ ice cream/ Baja Fresh store.. the weirdest layout of a restaurant/gas station I’ve ever seen. The Baja Fresh looks shut down. There was 1 Baja Fresh employee working but the restaurant half of the store was completely vacant. I had to pay at the gas station counter and got the wrong order given to me. I was the only customer in the restaurant so I was a little confused how they could have messed that up. I would avoid this place at all costs. Honestly looked like it needed to be shut down.
I was simply going to ignore this experience and chalk it up to learning, but two days later the gas station service was even worse. SO, I strongly encourage you to take your business elsewhere and don’t put a single dollar in the owners pocket! I went for a quick burrito. Baja Fresh is usually pretty good so I thought I was safe. My first clue should have been that, even though 30-mins from closing, all the chairs were upside down on the tables... I finally found the clerk hiding behind the counter on her phone and asked if they were open. Her response “unfortunately”, that was clue #2... being hungry, I ordered anyway. It was the WORST burrito I’ve EVER had. Lots of lettuce, a few very old grilled onions & peppers, a sprinkling of chicken and probably 10 black beans... THATS IT! No sauce, no salsa, nothing. To top it off, the lettuce was old and the whole thing tasted sour. I was afraid of getting sick so I had to throw it away. ABSOLUTE WASTE OF $10! AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!
When we walked in first thing that the employee said that they were close. When the sign on the outside said open. When we proceeded to leave she then said that she was a new employee. & Had only been on the job 2 days. & Look confused & said that she didn't know if she could make our order. So needless to say we did not order anything. She was alone without any supervisor. This is the first time that I've been at a Baja Fresh & did not get excellent service.
Could have saved ourselves a trip if we'd just looked at the reviews beforehand. From the outside, looks promising even though it is attached to a gas station. Ample area to eat, nice umbrellas and shade. Inside, the "salsa" bar looked filled, clean and presentable. We are a family of 6 and came in Sunday evening around 6pm. Place is empty except for 1 customer completing payment for a dine in ahead of us. The cashier, sighed when she saw us and that's when we noticed she was completely alone and from the looks we received from her, we clearly got the message that we were going to cause her a lot of work and the food would not be up to par so we left.
The last thing I want from a eating establishment is to cause us to get sick. Last night we went to the Folsom location of Baja Fresh. It was so bad we left before ordering. Their employee was clearly ill. She could not stop coughing and she looked quite ill with a grey skin tone.
This is the worst Baja fresh ever, I was traveling from UTAH and I absolutely LOVE Baja fresh this was the first location we found on the way, BIG MISTAKE. The place looked unsanitary we ordered any way because we wanted the food so bad SECOND BIG MISTAKE, I was given expired food and the employees looked angry since we entered the place. I almost wanted to call the health department, they should change there name or be shut down. I ordered a Baja burrito enchilada style as soon as I took a bite I knew something was expired when I gave it back to the cashier she said to me "I think it might be the salsa on top" she knew it was expired and still served it to me. My mother ordered a Mexican burrito and the cashier said I already tried making it 3 times and it keep breaking and told my mom if she wanted it any ways I then told her we just wanted our money back and she said I should ony be giving you the money back for 2 orders, I worked for Baja fresh for many years I would have given the customer back all of there money back regardless...DON'T COME TO THIS PLACE IT'S DISCUSTING AND UNSANITARY. I was very disappointed..... if there was an option of giving this place a 0 I would.
Chicken was ice cold had to eat around it because I was afraid of getting sick. The place was filthy can’t believe I tipped the lady serving me undercooked chicken I thought tipping her would entice her to take care of my food but apparently not. Shouldn’t have expected much from gas station food but someone told memmtmhisnpace was actually good but this was the worst fast food experience I’ve ever had.
Folks were nice but, the food was crap!
We never get a chance to even order. Online it clearly states every day open from 10am to 7:30pm but everytime I go. Between 1 hour to 2 and a half hours earlier than the closing time listed online (This is my third time attempting this week alone where the store is not open). Outside will have 2 open signs one that is on and one off at all times. Then I would go inside and there will be a sign infront of the entrance way stating they will be open at their regular business hours tomorrow at 10 am. If you are going to advertise you are open until 730 pm then be open at 730 pm. It's frustrating!
Folsom/ Auburn location is very disappointing! This is my 3rd visit within the last 3 weeks, first visit they served a customer then told me they were closed for cleaning, 2nd visit no lettuce for a salad, 3rd visit only serving chicken tacos nothing else!!! Customer services is the worst, not friendly and very short in communicating with customers! DO NOT RECOMMEND!
Great food; but, they added $2.00 as "tip" without asking. SCAM ARTIST then tried to tell me that the Square app "adds it automatically". I'm thinking that always asking for a copy of my receipt may be necessary.
We ordered food for over 100 people for an event. Baja Fresh Folsom showed up over 3 hours late. When I called and emailed with follow up we received no response. Since my event was ruined by the absence of food and my organization was very unimpressed with the follow up we do not recommend working with Baja Fresh Folsom for events.
Rude disrespectful employees, half of the things you order cant be fulfilled due to lack of products i guess. Kids meal corn was ice cold while other kids meal was warmed. Very disappointed. I love baja fresh just not this one.
Stood in line the other day for 10-15 minutes not because it was busy, but because lack of staff only to be told taco Tuesday is no more.. also seriously the worst bland burritos, much better at other fast food Mexican, also and very expensive.. and also worst Baja Fresh for their salsa bar, it's always empty!!
Terrible place! This restaurant is a disaster. I placed an online order. Paid for the food, and received a confirmation email as to when it will be ready. I arrive at the location, and they were closed. I paid for nothing. Drove here to get nothing, and now I'm hungry, and I've been scammed out of my $30. If you're silly enough to place an online order here, I suggest you call ahead to see if they're actually open, before you give them your money.
Worst baja fresh ever. Its half the quantity what they usually give in other places. The taste is also not good here. The other baja fresh is good.
This person right here...rudely told my daughter she was closed at 7:42 tonight. Doors open, OPEN sign on, she is at the counter...but too lazy to serve a 12 year old girl.

Every time I attempt to come to this store they're closed. Doesn't matter if it's a weekend or weekday, doesn't matter if you're there 20 minutes or 2 hours before close, every time I've tried to go since they "reopened" after the 2020 COVID shutdown, they're already closed. You walk in from the gas station entrance, and the Baja Fresh section is just dark, empty and silent. You can walk right in, there's not even anything blocking the Baja Fresh entrance and there's no posted signs about it being closed. I've even walked around the empty Baja section asking "hello" to no answer. I've also gone as far as placing an order on DoorDash, which of course debits you immediately, only to get a call from the driver 40 minutes later telling me the Baja Fresh is closed. Wow. Today was the final straw, not trying again. This is nowhere close to what Baja Fresh should be; I've eaten at many different locations and enjoyed the food but this one is a far cry from those. Shame they're the only Baja Fresh in a 50 mile radius, and with this kind of experience it's likely there will be none around here soon. There may as well already be none. Try calling ahead before coming if you dare, but based on the other reviews, it seems like even when they're open it's not worth it. Really unhappy.
This place is barely hanging on and nothing like the old Baja fresh in sacramento or elk grove. Same recipes but they have found every shortcut possible to still serve you most of the not so FRESH menu.
