Yummy organic desserts, the best chocolate chip muffins around and NOW they have locally made Kombucha, a first on Long Island as far as I know. What more could anyone ask for? Friendly service with a smile and very helpful, too. Outdoor seating and indoors as well. Coffee lovers could stay here all day long. Read your newspaper, meet other coffee lovers and have an real European style, relax and hang out atmosphere. Right within walking distance of the LIRR and everything else in the center or the lovely, downtown shopping district of RVC. So come to relax or recharge. Either way, I think you will be delighted. New yummy looking, gourmet yogurt too. Support your local business. This is a one store business not part of a chain.

Situated on Village Ave in Rockville Centre, Kookaburra is a coffee lounge that makes many specialty coffees. They are located right down the block from Dunkin Donuts, but I'd much rather support private business. They make many flavors and types of coffees and pastries. They have an outdoor area to sit at also. I strongly recommend this cafe for its more low-key atmosphere and interesting layout to enjoy.

Excellent one on one service and delicious coffee. Wait can be long at times, but service time is always very quick. Would recommend over any other coffee in the village.

A great little locally owned coffee shop with incredible fresh baked goods. All the staff are knowledgeable about the coffee but they don't make you feel like a dork if you have a question about something like the difference between one type of drink or another. The baked stuff is all fresh and it's all delicious. Best of all, the drinks are small, medium and large - not some pretentious secret sizing system that another unnamed coffee chain uses.

This is one of the best coffee spots, hands down, on LI. Staff is super nice. Coffee is always Deliciously STRONG. It's one of those places you have to tell your friends about. Their breakfast bars and specialty danishes are amazing. Only wish they had an online menu. Its a small space, cash only.

Legit best coffee shop I've encountered. Coffee is fire. Never had a bad drink. Theres usually a line out the door. Everything is seasonal, they bake their own scones and offer other breakfast fare. My new favorite coffee shop! I’m from Queens so it says a lot that I go out of my way to come here. The staff is so friendly and attentive. Be advised this place is cash only, they give you a punch card and after your 8th coffee purchase you get a free one. The pastries taste fresh! My favorite drink is the iced lavender honey latte, which was not overly sweet and they offer a variety of milk options.

Missed my connecting train in RVC, had 5 mins to spare… breezed past the Dunkin for this highly-rated, locally-owned coffee shop. First time. Ordered a cup, resisted the urge to indulge in any of the many tasty treats, went to check out with Apple Pay, only to be told that it was cash-only. Absolutely blown away. I ordered a cold brew as I do at every coffee shop I try for the first time. I didn’t realize they were cash only and just as I was about to go to the car and grab cash after ordering, the Barista asks if it’s my first time, I say yes and he says first one is on us! On top of that I take my first sip of coffee and it’s absolutely incredible. Only one other coffee shop has given me this delicious of a cold brew and they are in Jersey city so I haven’t had it in years. I will definitely be back!

Honey Lavender Latte with oat milk was awesome. Flavoring was great, and made without being overly diluted by the oat milk. Lavender flavor wasn’t artificial tasting or too strong. Barista was super nice, and I forgot cash and they offered for me to pay next time...which I’m not sure how that works,!but was incredibly kind for them to offer (But I declined and got cash nearby). The morning bun I had too was great, caramelized sugar and very fresh. Highly recommended.

Wonderful small storefront that puts Starbucks to shame. The staff, ( currently Ramon, Dan, Jacki, Julia, Maggie, and Mo) are as friendly and accommodating as humanly possible. Just a feel good experience being a customer here. But beware, you may wait on line during busy hours.

I love this coffee shop so much that I have come two-three times a day on needed occasion, like a proper coffee addict. Everyone that works there is always friendly and the coffee is ridiculously good. The cold brew with a splash of almond milk is my go-to and oat milk lattes are a close second.

There is a dunkin donuts only a few stores away but I will pick kookaburra every single time! The coffee was fresh and delicious, as were the bagels. They also had some great looking yogurts, juices, and treats. The staff was very friendly and so were the customers by the way. I was in with my 2 little ones and they were very patient while my toddler decided what she wanted. I almost gave 4 stars because they only take cash, but then I tried the apricot breakfast bar I ordered, and there is no way I can give anything but 5 stars!!

This is by far some of the best espresso based drinks that I've ever had. I work in midtown NYC and I have tried lots of coffee shops in Manhattan, but this is still my favorite. I highly recommend trying the oat milk in your latte or cappuccino. Chris introduced my husband and I to it during our first visit as it is only available to baristas. The staff is very friendly. The owner is opening a second location in Malverne so we're extremely excited and cannot wait for the grand opening.

We were about to walk into a chain establishment when we noticed Kookaburra and decided to support a local business. We were blown away by their amazingly fluffy and delicious bagels, fun donuts that are cooked to perfection and perfectly spiced pumpkin americano. Great spot whether you want to sit and relax or take away and enjoy on the go!

First time in the area, and their chai latte shocked me. It’s honestly the best chai latte I’ve ever had!!! I even rushed back to the coffee shop to tell the barista how good it was.

I was greeting kindly by the baristas working and was informed of their process in making a graham cracker syrup scratch for their graham cracker lattes. The warm flavors in the graham cracker syrup combined with the smooth expresso roast create a scrumptious coffee experience that was not too sweet and had just the right coffee jolt, with cinnamon nutty seasoning!

Excellent place! The absolute best coffee & workers. Today I called 5 min before closing asking if I were to come 5 min late if I would be too late. The lady on the phone was very nice, said she will be there an extra few minutes and took my order. When I got there It was closed so I called up and let her know I was there. Delicious coffee and the owner is a great guy! This was my first time visiting and I didn't realize they were all cash until after my order was ready. I felt silly to even say I was short a couple of bucks but had no choice. The owner kindly told me not to stress and pay the balance when I come back next time even though I insisted and asked where the closest ATM may be. I left the store and found an ATM for the mere fact that I appreciated the owners offer so much. When I came back to pay the balance I told him that I think he's a great businessman and many people nowadays would never do something like that. His response was "you gotta have faith in people" and he's absolutely right. And you also have to have coffee. So hit em up!!!

(4.5 stars) Doesn’t take credit cards? No place to sit? Line out the door? Given the first two, I suspected that this place must be something special for the third to hold true. Thankfully, I was right. From coffees and teas to donuts and bagels and more, Kookaburra has an impressive selection. Whether you want a simple haht cawfee or something more extravagant, they have you covered. The baristas are amicable and adept at keeping the line moving. For our first visit, my wife and I ended up with a NOLA cold brew (with chicory), a toasted marshmallow caramel latte, and a maple Berliner to share. Everything was good, and honestly not that expensive by New York standards. The coffee was smooth and not too sweet while the donut tasted fresh. Impressed, I returned the next day to snag a graham cracker latte and an Irish cream cold brew. The second round of Kookaburra drinks was just as satisfying as the first. If you’re in a hurry or really want to be able to sit inside and eat/drink, you can try the Dunkin down the street. If you don’t mind waiting a few minutes, paying cash, and taking your coffee to go, then Kookaburra offers an experience that is hard to beat.

I work nearby to this cute little coffee shop in RVC. They serve great coffee and have unique speciality drinks! I really enjoy their mint horchata (made in house!) with a shot of espresso. Current addiction! Also, staff is always amazingly warm and helpful!

I am very picky with my coffee, and if you are looking for a place just to grab a nice coffee and go, that's the place. Croissants were delicious and I would eat 100 of them if possible lol. I didn't know it was only cash and they gave me an IOU, which made a little easier.

The coffee was good, but I felt the ordering was a bit chaotic. Individual servers take your order, make it, then cash you out as opposed to have one person do each part of the process. Also, its cash only.

The coffee is really good and the staff are very nice. The only reason they don't get 5 stars is because they don't fully know their own menu. I ordered an Americano and the barista didn't know how to make it. Despite this the overall experience there was good and I'd definitely go back.

JUST OKAY! I requested a decaf coffee with cream. The lady helping me poured milk into the coffee cup. They don’t keep any sugar or supplies outside. I asked for 1 packet of stevia and found that it wasn’t sufficient for me. It would be great if they keep the creamer, sugar and supplies outside so that customers can use them accordingly. The coffee was bitter and tasted just OK.

For home baristas, good beans here. Unfortunately, like most other local artisan roasters on the island, emphasis is on volume customers and specialty drinks rather than hardcore espresso, hence don't expect roasted on dates on your package of beans, and bean price per lb varies according to who happens to serve you on any given day. You can easily guage bean freshness by the quality of your shots, and I get good shots from their beans, so these shortcomings are easier to ignore. I asked, and the guys behind the counter claim beans are roasted weekly. I tend to believe this as the store is consistently packed with aforementioned volume customers.

Love the coffee here but honestly just wish that the staff would be a little bit faster. they take sooo long with a simple order. I’ve been there when there’s no line and they still take so long to make just one coffee. They talk too much between them and with clients I understand it’s nice to give a personalized service but also sometimes ppl just wanna grab an coffee and be on their way to work or whatever, but if you stop at kookaburra rvc it feels like you might never make it to wherever you were going on time or you gonna have to leave without your order. The thing is it shouldn’t take soo long to make just a coffee super extra slow.

Sorry say I was very disappointed. I ordered an Americano. and strawberry banana muffin. I was disappointed in the americano. It tasted more like coffee ☕️ black wasn’t made like I expected. The muffin was very good, lady even heated it up, i didn’t ask for it. Also was surprised debit cards weren’t excepted. I had to go to Dunkin’ Donuts 🍩 to get cash. I should have stayed there. ☹️

In town to visit family. Hotel coffee crap so we found this shop. Mind you it's Mother's Day. There were 3 or 4 men working. None of them were friendly. Didn't even thank us for coming in. My cortado was very good but we likely won't be returning next visit. No room to sit inside but they had a table and chairs out front.

Ordered a small coffee with cream, and the worker proceeds to pour milk into a cup. Restated that I asked for cream. He then pours the milk back into the milk jug from the coffee cup and says they only have half and half, no cream. Their coffee is hit or miss; it is usually over extracted. The baked goods are as abysmal as the service and coffee; their chocolate croissants are an abomination.

Great coffee, but great coffee can be had from many alternate coffee providers. The service I received was substandard. The atmosphere was chaotic which I’m sure contributed the inferior service I received. My experience at Kookaburra was poor, very poor. We witnessed two potential customers shamed into leaving by other customers because they attempted to place their order before a half a dozen others who were waiting. I don’t fault them so much for line cutting as there was absolutely no discernible customer queue visible. Additionally, my food order was incorrect. Instead of bagel and cream cheese, I got coffee cake. It took several minutes to get someone’s attention before I could report and explain the error. Then, I had to wait for the error to get corrected as they had to completely redo my food order. The employees were friendly though but there was confusion amongst them as who was going to take our order. I don’t see me returning or recommending Kookaburra, ever.

I usually go places guided by the reviews and I’m impressed with how many stars this place has because this is the worst matcha I’ve ever had. Also my sister ordered a macchiato and they gave her iced late. Idk if this was a new employee or what but the flavor of these lattes was simply bland and lacked any distinct taste. It was like drinking water.
