Heart Rock Sushi Fort Lauderdale Reviews
Delicious, fresh and flavorful! This was our third visit, each time had been great. Nice large menu of sushi, Thai classics and specials listed on a large menu by the door. Love the staff and their fun personalities. Our server tonite made us laugh with his super dry humor. We had a nice time. The sushi is always super fresh and they have a large creative menu. Can’t go wrong with the hamachi jalapeño sashimi app. We get it every time. The Tom kha was SO good tonite, I usually get w chicken, but opted for vegetables and it was tasty.
My favorite go-to pace for sushi. Food and service is always amazing! Danny was great. Very nice and attentive. Gave good roll recommendations and accommodated everyone’s spice preference.
Been comming here for over 20years. Always great Sushi and service. Place is always clean and welcoming..
Great tuna and salmon on their tuna avocado salad. Very fresh fish and chilled which I like.
Love this place!! At first I was skeptical being that they serve both sushi and Thai food but it was surprisingly tasty. The customer service was amazing and the food were reasonably priced. I would definitely come back.
Nice restaurant, it was our first time trying and the food was good. Our server was friendly and efficient. The pad Thai was very delicious and flavorful.
Great spot that I would have probably never found on my own. The times I've been there we've gone with pretty large groups. Even though there's a lot of space, I would suggest calling first so they can set up. They boast a full menu of Japanese and Thai favorites, but as you can guess, I went with the sushi. The first time I had the Season's change roll and the dynamite roll. This time I had the spicy eel roll and another amazing dynamite type roll ( sorry, I can't remember the name). Service is friendly and quick. There's a small range of sake and beers available as well. It's a great environment to come hang out and have amazing food and conversation, especially as it's not too loud (except when we show up). I'll let the pictures do the rest of the talking, but I plan on heading there a lot more often. Hope to see you there.
This is the best Sushi and Thai restaurant I have been to in a while. I visited for the first time last year and loved it so much that I had to go back...several times. The veggies tempura are perfection, crispy and light. The seared tuna is so fresh, one would think it was still in the ocean up until a few minutes.
Great sushi options. Lunch combos until 3pm. Happy hour sushi and food and drink specials at 3pm. Easy parking. Many seating options. Clean. Shirley was attentive server. Strong WIFI. Big TV.
Clean, welcoming. Greeted immediately when walking in and seated. We came during happy hour which had good deals on the cocktails (lychee martini was great) and appetizers/sushi. Overall great experience- the peanut sauce was amazing. The spring rolls were fantastic and so was the bok choy. Fast service too. Will be back!
I went here for happy hour && I had the Pino Grigio wine 2 of them! :) I also had the spring rolls which was a 10/10. And the Spicy Tuna Roll 10/10 as well. It was my first time & sushi is one of my favorite foods so I must say I will be back. The service was great, super sweet. The wait is just right.
The food was amazing I try a few recommendations and the tasted amazing. Even my husband that normally doesn't eat sushi, try it and loved it. The service is great, the food is timely cooked and beutifully presented. The ambiance is relaxed and family friendly, the music is good too. Our server was Shirley and we some of the things we ate were pai thai, uni shot, unagi cone, lava drop roll and tempura jb roll. We also tried the salmon with avocado and the salmon with cream cheese roll. Finally shrimp shumai and thai spring rolls. The bathrooms are also well kept.
We ended up here by accident and were happily surprised. Discreet and polite service and wonderful wide variety of sushi. The four of us enjoyed our selections. Just spending 5 days in Ft. Lauderdale, but we'll need back.
Had their "boat special". The sushi, sashimi and California roll were all delicious and exactly what I was expecting. The service was fine and the prices were decent enough for South Florida. I write this today, because we watched in pain as one difficult customer ruined the waitress's day with about an hour's worth of "personalizing" her order and then complaining once the kitchen graciously prepared and served her exactly what she ordered (a meal that looked absolutely delicious). I think some people would be better off cooking their own meals and not venturing outdoors.
It's nothing too fancy but this is my go-to sushi and Thai food restaurant when I'm in Fort Lauderdale. They have great happy hour specials with spicy salmon and tuna rolls at a very good price. I also like the tempura. You can fit at the sushi bar at a table or even outside and the staff is super friendly.
Awesome Thai food at very reasonable price. This place was one of the highlights of our stay in Ft Lauderdale. We went there thrice. Our waiter was friendly and very kind.Thank you so much 4 everything. We were there in the end of May. This place deserves many 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Tasty food. Server Fannie was very nice and gave us all a complimentary shot of the thai tea for us to try. Great sushi and thai food place. Great service ! Music a little too loud and music selection not ideal.
I had an order of spicy tuna rolls and 2 orders of spicy salmon rolls. Only took about 7-8 minutes as I was a walk in! The lady behind the take out counter was very polite & cordial. The sushi was great and the price reasonable.
Prompt service, a variety of menu options for lunch, and very fresh food. I enjoyed their house salad, sashimi, and sushi. Everything smelled nice and was portioned well for its price. Their wine was also fresh and had good “legs”. Thanks for my waitress for her patience and kindness! I’ll recommend this place to my friends and family, especially for lunch.
I took my wife during our bike ride. This place is top notch. We loved it here. Try for happy hour from 3-6. I’d recommend the seaweed salad as a starter. It is delicate and delicious. We also had Kani salad, Tanzania roll, octopus sushi, and the special fried rice. It was all superb. Bill was $48 minus tip.
I go here often for either the lunch or happy hour specials and get my favorite rolls along with a nice soup or salad for a great deal. Very reasonably prices and kept clean. The other day I tried veggieTom Yum soup and it was excellent. Not to mention the staff is so friendly and attentive for service. Thank you!
I was truly impressed. Great place to take a date. Has nice vibes. The food was delicious. I had sushi. It was a good portion. I also noticed that other dishes - while I was people watching - had large portions too. The service was awesome. Something I wish was better that is out of control is the parking. Can't blame the restaurant for that though. I hope y'all enjoy as much as I did.
I’m not sure why this place is rated four stars, I did not take the time to read through probably the junk one star reviews. I’ve been coming here for at least five years and I feel like it’s one of the best served sushi is in Fort Lauderdale. It might not be fancy but really the sushi does come out quite amazing. I’ve never been disappointed and I can’t say that about most sushi places. I never have to wait in those long ridiculous lines that you find out trendy places. And I do believe that their specialty rolls are as good and may surpass!
Great food and amazing service! Highly recommend.
I ordered a Spicy Tuna Roll 🔥 a Spicy Salmon Roll 🔥 & an order of Crab Rangoons. All of the food was excellent 👌. The rolls by far had the most fish I have ever gotten in a roll. Perfectly rolled & seasoned to perfection. This was my first time ordering from you all & you have definitely gained a repeat loyal customer. Also the Crab 🦀 Rangoons were delicious. Lots of crab & included chives which was a 1st time for me. Also perfectly crispy. Great cream cheese to crab to pastry ratio. The duck sauce with chili flake was amazing too. You have got something special here. Thank you kindly.
Loved this restaurant. Excellent food with a great presentation and wonderful, attentive service. I look forward to going back. Worth a drive.
Not sure what all those negative reviews are talking about. We had rolls, pad Thai, fried rice, and curry. It was all AMAZING! I’ve been missing authentic Asian food. This is it. The waitress was adorable and super nice
This place was really good. It wasn't very busy on a Tuesday around 2:30pm. I was just in time to catch the lunch special. The tofu curry I had was AMAZING. I'm not much of a sushi eater either, but what I had was just as amazing as the curry. The service was good, too. I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
This place is wonderful. Always fresh sushi and never once a bad meal! If you are looking for the best sushi in Florida for a reasonable price this is it. We got served by Shirley. She works on Mondays. She was amazing, very attentive, and very sweet. Love this place will be coming here regularly!
Love salmon avocado roll, tuna avocado roll! Pad Thai is always at least 2 meals. Can’t go wrong with any of the cold tapas when I want to change up my roll habit lol
Great service from Shirley. She was a very sweet lady who was treated unfairly but an arrogant customer and she handled herself with grace and made sure all other customers were safe and content despite the comments this man was making. The variety of food was great and the happy hour selections definitely hit the spot. Shirley is great and deserves to be highlighted.
My husband and I adore this restaurant. The food is of quality, well proportioned and not overly priced like most. The service is good and well organized. They do get a lot of take-out orders, which causes them to be really busy sometimes, but there has only been one time that we waited a little bit longer than usual, but I don’t think that is a good enough reason to give them a bad rating. They have been good to us every time we have visited them, and we all have to face some challenging times every now an then. Support this cost restaurant, enjoy the atmosphere and great Asian and sushi selection. As for COVID-19 regulations, they have always adhered to their safe spacing, it’s never overcrowded.
My husband and I came across this little gem as we were driving along Federal Highway in Fort Lauderdale. The service was great and the food is awesome. A must try is the Crab Rangoons, definitely delicious! Happy Hour from 4-6pm with special prices on some menu items. We had a great dining experience. We’ll be back!
Great place make sure you get the peanut sauce on the house salad!!
Great food and service is like they treat you like family!!
First time eating here. Met a friend for lunch. The server was great. She made suggestions on what I should try and was very attentive to our table. She suggested the garlic stir fry with chicken. It was very good and the portion size was great. I will definitely return.
Had red snapper sweet & sour with extra slice ginger so good my wife had noodles & veggies soup was so good also
Walked from B ocean resort, 1.5 hours...worked up an appetite for sure. Sooooo worth the exertion..food was great, presentation stellar..best of all happy hour had 3 dollar wine and edamame..best sushi so far in Fort Lauderdale. Ordered custom roll (not on the menu) and they made it superbly. Highly recommended! Make sure to order the avacado egg roll..blow ur mind
First time to visit Heart Rock....definitely will go back for all of the right reasons!! I went for a VERY late night meal with my son; after seeing Messi at the arena score the WINNING goal! ;) We were greeted like true guests; as though they had just opened the doors for the day! (I was anxious about going in so late and near closing time!) The ambience is also truly welcoming! A very relaxing vibe. We were both very comfortable. The food was fresh and cooked perfectly!! We enjoyed the Tom Yum Soup...the shrimps were just the right texture...Not an easy soup ingredient to say that about! Danny (our server) suggested their chili oil as just the right addition and he nailed it!! They make it in house and you can taste that love! Calamari was also cooked perfectly! Very unique panko textured crust..I loved it! Next the Basil stir fry with ground chicken....and of course, the sunny side up egg addition to 'top' it off! Simple ingredients cooked perfectly with love are exactly what I look for!! I cannot wait to go back!! p.S. I'm hopeful that the entire staff is delightful, but I will definitely ask for Danny. He clearly loves people and has a wonderful sense of humor. Thank you Danny and Heart Rock.
Food, price & service were excellent! Our waiter was Denis, he made sure my food would be MSG free for my allergy. Highly recommend. Great prices for lunch hours, even on the weekend!
Came here two times in one trip. We NEVER eat at the same place twice when we are out of town! This place was worth it!!
Ample parking in the front lot. Handicap slots are available . Excellent service for 4 for lunch. The staff greated us and we were seated. Drink order taken and lunch ordered. Extensive sushi menu. As well as traditional Tia dishes. The salads were served with an giner and pickled red onion dressing. The main courses were as ordered no problems and in a timely manner. My Tia rice and noodles were tasty. The sushi was fresh and generous servings provided. Prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity. Overall an enjoyable lunch with the family.
This place is an absolute gem. Sushi is always spot on every time. I’m down this way. I have to stop lunch. Special is only 15 bucks. Can’t be the best deal in town. Sushi is amazing.
I stumbled across Heart Rock Sushi & Thai while I was visiting Fort Lauderdale. Firstly, I was impressed with their menu with so many wonderful options. I finally went with the Tuna Poke Bowl & the Fried Oreos for dessert. 5 stars on both, seriously. Loved the combo of stuff with their poke bowl. & The fried oreos with the ice cream...to die for. I'm upset I forgot my waitresses' name because she was very kind & sweet & made me feel very welcome. I'm also upset I can't take this restaurant back to Washington with me. It would, hands down, be my favorite restaurant. Everything was clean, the prices are good, the service was fast & perfect & I don't use that word often. The friendly employees were the cherry on top. Every time I come to Fort Lauderdale, I will return to Heart Rock Sushi & Thai.
The sushi was amazing but the best thing about this place is the service I received from Shirley. She’s such an amazing server and person as well! Go see her and enjoy the great food.
Great hidden spot for amazing sushi. I had the lunch sashimi - and a tall soporo Awesome. Super decent pricing for the quality of fish. I’m totally picky. Plate presentation was beautiful. Sexy vibe atmosphere- you know how I am about the music in a spot (deep sexy house was perfect), awesome for lunch but I’d love to come back for dinner with friends. No wait - food was perfect timing between dishes. All the cuts of sashimi were perfect. No complaints. Def recommendation. I’ll be back. Pictures of the plate were half demolished already lol
A STUNNING sushi boat of our (my sister & I’s) dreams! Our first dinner in Victoria Park following a visit to the beach fresh from the airport…and it did not disappoint. The staff was so attentive and the itamaes (sushi chefs) carefully crafted each piece. We would’ve eaten this every day if we could.
Heart Rock Sushi is a true local gem. They serve authentic, high-quality dishes, the staff is always friendly and welcoming, and the prices are incredibly reasonable. I highly recommend them for both dining in and delivery.
What a gem! The food was tasty and the lunch menu offered a huge variety with excellent prices. The service was top notch, we will be back!
This restaurant was close to where we were staying in Ft Lauderdale in Sept and I liked that they had sushi and Thai. Hubby likes sushi, I like thai. They offer great happy hour specials so we popped over to enjoy them. The appetizer was tasty and a good deal for the price. Hubby tried a 3 beer special they had and he was able to mix and match different beers. It was interesting to hear about the origins of each beer. I had the pad see ew - my thai spicy level 2 - my thai go to. It was very good. Hubby had a couple sushi rolls and enjoyed them as well. While we were there they had someone come in for a repair that was over our table. They communicated to us what was going on and moved our table and all of our stuff for us. It was handled very well.
A good first time visit, I would definitely go back the food was great, the sake was good the sushi was good, like I enjoyed the food and the portions are value for your money.
Had shrimp and veggie tempura, vegetarian combo and spicy krab roll. All excellent! Tempura serving was huge, took half home. Service was great. Only downside was the “music”… too loud and not suited to the type of restaurant
Very nice experience. Average price for a sushi Thai place, with good quality on both the sushi and Thai side of the kitchen.
It's my favorite place to get sushi in Fort Lauderdale. It can be pricey, depending on what you order, but it's always fresh. I don't think I've ever had a bad item there. The staff has taken great care during Covid-19 to protect its staff and customers.
It has been a while since I dined at Hard Rock Sushi. So glad that the group decided to have dinner here this evening after our event. The food was exceptional and moderately priced. I had the lobster Pad Thai, a first for me and will not be a last. My husband's duck was very tasty. The only semi negative comment is that the waiter was overwhelmed with such a large group. His attitude could have been more welcoming.
I came here and ate very well. The service was from a very very smiley waiterm Price was fair. The ambience is very well lit together, but more on the basic side. I think this a great place for a casual meal and will definitely come back.
Buenisimo, vale la pena visitarlo
I went here for happy hour (HH) and honestly, the HH menu is a little underwhelming. I got the spicy salmon roll from HH menu and it was OK. And then ordered the orange dragon roll from the regular menu and it was really good. I wouldn’t come back for the happy hour menu but it’s a decent place for sushi rolls.
Hands down for the sushi quality!! I ordered a couple of times, and the quality it’s fantastic! Compared with the same range price in other places around Fort Lauderdale The salmon and tuna are fresh, and the rice it’s cooked perfectly. In addition they use a thin layer of rice on the rolls so you can appreciated the fillings flavors better. I also try tried the pad Thai twice Unfortunately, I didn’t have the same luck I received a sticky ball of rice noodles cooked and no flavour extra oily, and only two pieces of chicken with no peanuts I ask for extra scallions, and they only put some on top.
Very kind staff, food was ok for the happy hour price. Ordered the crab sushi thinking I’d be getting a typical crab stick on top of rice and received a raw piece of crab that I literally could not bite through, it was like chewing a tire. Spicy edamame was neither spicy nor salty. Once I was served, the server did not check in with me again until I asked for the check. Subpar.
Family outing and I must say, we had a ton of fun. Started with Tum yum soup, smelt a little fishy and decided not to eat. Pad tai was delicious, definitely recommend. Not sure if it was our sushi choice, but it was flooded with sauce. Service was excellent and they really go above and beyond to accommodate.
Service was terrible. The waiter came over 4 times to ask us if we've ordered and where our drinks were... we already ordered and I don't know where our drinks are, that's your job. The food came and it was flavorless and bland. I thought this place was supposed to be good? On par with Panda Express, which puts it below Pei Wei somehow. And it was expensive. You want a good place try Thai Spice or something else.
Went there today to celebrate the end of school. Took forever to wait on me and it was during a time frame where there was not a lot of people in the restaurant. I was treated like I couldn't afford to eat there and they were surprised at how much sushi I ordered. I wanted it TO GO for the rest and they did not give me all of the sushi I ordered.
The only reason I came here was because of Shirley, the food has been subpar for quite some time.
I've dined In at this establishment many times and have always had a great experience and good service so imagine my surprise when I order takeout to pick up and the woman there to assist being extremely rude. She grabbed the money being handed to her, stood there and counted it said "Correct" and started walking off. No other words. when trying to reach for the order in front of me she starts yelling and saying wrong bag, gives me my food and waves me off out the door like I'm a fly she's shooing away. Definitely left a poor taste in my mouth and I will not be ordering takeout again and will reconsider dining in. There are other sushi establishments with consistent and good service.
I happened to be in the area and decided to try this place out. I ordered a simple rainbow roll and instead of imitation crab I asked for cucumber and carrot, which is probably 10 times cheaper than the imitation crab. They charged $2 extra for that. A simple rainbow roll came out to $18 to go. Meanwhile, I highly recommend Take 1 sushi where the price is only $15 for a rainbow roll PLUS a spicy tuna roll. Best sushi in town! I will never come back here. The food was not bad tasting, but a total rip off
Ordered from door dash and when our dasher arrived. They told him the didn’t have an order. We sent a copy of the receipt and then they cancelled the order and said there was no dasher available.horrible customer service. 0/10 will never try again.
Awful place My brother found raw fish in the soup, we said to change it, they are just took all fish out and warmed up soup…. Also tea is the worst tea in my life. Their Jasmine is horrible, based on hot tap water. Water in the tea wale out all taste. I love tea a lot, but I can’t drink it at all! Do not recommend this place Food - 3.5/5 Service - 4/5 Clean tables - 4.7/5 How make fast food - 4.5/5 I’ll never come back, thank you for awful evening
Service extremely unprofessional. Servers were not available for 20 min when things were not busy. Finally ordered after sitting here for 20 min. Couldnt seem to flag the sever down to get any attention during the meal either. food was pretty cold (ordered the the baked roll which suppsed to be hot). Escalated to manager. She said there is one server who can help you. Figure it out yourself. That's it.
I've been coming to heart rock sushi for over 10 years. I live in europe and visit FLL regularly. This restaurant was outstanding with great food for a reasonable price with excellent service! About 6 months ago the restaurant was sold to new owners. They fired all of the staff. The new staff is simply rude. The prices are still reasonable, but the quality of the food is terrible. I mentioned this to the waitress who promptly told me there are other sushi restaurants in town. I was there on a Saturday night. There were only 3 tables taken. They've obviously told their other regular customers to go elsewhere. This was my last visit to HR Sushi.
Where are the - stars ? Food quality went down hill in flavor, worst service in any of SFL restaurants and the last three visits assured myself to never return or order again. No great deals and shitty service don’t waste your dollars.
I ordered a bunch of food from them today to be delivered by GrubHub. The order never arrived. That is not their fault but what I am upset with them for is that GrubHub attempted to get the order placed again at their expense the restaurant refused. I didn't do anything wrong. i spent $100 on sushi I never received. GrubHub offered to fix the problem at their expense but the restaurant is the one who really screwed me in the end.
I have ordered delivery from here at least 30 times and eaten in at least 10 times over the past two years. The food is progressively getting worse. Maybe it is the supply chain shortages. Today I got my order and my tuna avocado roll is clearly rotten. Black tuna. How this ever left this establishment is beyond me. This is the second or third time I’ve had an issue with bad fish. At this point I’m not going to order from here again
I ordered delivery via Uber Eats and I don't know if it's because of the hurricane but you don't get to give people expired food. I ordered the Uni sushi which was incredibly disgusting and smelled like a fishy sewer. I almost threw up just taking the pictures. The chicken teriyaki, that is just not what the dish is supposed to look like and no just putting the sauce on was not much better. I don't know why anyone would think to deep fry lettuce in the first place but the lobster in the egg rolls was old and disgusting too I couldn't even finish any of it. Thankfully the salmon sushi and the miso soup were edible but this was still the worst experience ever.
If you’re looking for authentic Japanese food, this isn’t the place. The soba appeared to be made with instant noodles, and sweet-and-sour sauce was served as a dip for yam tempura. From that point on, the experience only deteriorated. To make matters worse, service from an older Asian server was unnecessarily rude and left a lasting negative impression.
